Very well done with all the information needed, great video
Great video! As I’m learning to use my new radio, this will be a source that I save and refer to as I set up different models. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks a bunch for this video! It was very helpful to me and I’m looking forward to your future content!
Glad it was helpful!
Very help full video I learned a lot and saving your video and thank you for making chapters so easy to find specific spot in the video to revisit keep doing that it’s very helpful !!!!! Thank you !!!!!
Glad it helped!
Good video. Thanks. I never thought to create Call Outs for gain % value. Nice. 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome Video! Thanks for the info. You make it easy to program my new X20S! I'm in PHX.
Great to hear! Let me know if you have any question!
Very good tutorial ! Easy to set up now
Thank you! Glad it was helpful
Great demo. Love the recommendations.
Awesome!
@@skyboundrc I tried setting up the audio tracks, but I couldn’t find the audio in the file manager. Did you have to import the audio? If so where did you get it?
@@douglee7985 It's been a while, but I believe this is the sound pack I added drive.google.com/file/d/1_BDiLxACf8f8W6cERzgvLc9KDcFPrY6j/view
Great video, thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Great info, thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks Juan, excellent video. Could you do a version to suit using flaperons for an F16 model ? Thank you
Super good video,, but can you tell me the reverse thrust settings for the EDF ? 🙂
If, in custom failsafe mode (See "Failsafe" in RF System, using "Custom" mode), you set channel 13 to 50% and channel 14 to -100%, whilst using quick mode: If the receiver should go into failsafe, it will glide the model safely down for you.
Awesome information! Thanks for making this video.
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome video and great information can you do a video on the Frsky TD SR18 setup and features?
Thanks! Anything specific you’d be interested in learning about? Redundancy, gyro setup…?
Both!
great video, how you set up gear, flaps, noze whell and others extras that don´t need stabilization?
thanks! You need to connect those on any of the other channels that don't have stabilization. If youd disable bank 2, that's channels 7 and higher. If you keep bank 2 stabilization enabled, that's ch17 and up I believe
Hey where did you get the sound from?
Is there a way to set up the mode channel such that the auto level is not an option? I’d like to off and stabilization only
Awesome Video Juan! I’m coming over from spektrum and I don’t see anyone talking about separating the gyro levels based on axis(pitch, roll, yaw)? And it’s driving me nuts trying to find this. I’d like to use my archer SR10 Gyro with the gains on each axis on a switch especially during my first flights so I can fine tune my planes better. Is this possible with my setup? SR10 and S20s transmitter? Thanks
My understanding is that you can modify individual axis gains in the Stabilisation menu, but you cannot modify individual axis gains in flight via a pot/switch.
@@skyboundrc Thanks for your help Juan! I’m going to be all over it. This IMO is what’s missing here. Jets pushed to the limits of scale acrobatics really do well being dialed in on each axis. Weather definitely makes on the fly adjustments even better. I’ve done it with spektrum and I’m not trying to go back to them. Thanks again
I'm flying a Radiomaster 16s Max running edgetx. Does anyone know what protocol I use with this receiver. I'm interested in getting a few. Thanks
Question: In the SRX Stable LUA script, what "Mounting Type" should be selected if the receiver is mounted inverted, but otherwise as shown in the manual? Had my first flight today using a TW SR8 and had some problems even though it was calibrated and did the self-check.
I haven't looked at the SRX receivers since I made the video, but at least back then you'd set it as "Level reversed"
Can you use the radio FR sky X 20 S as a body box with the spectrum DX eight
Thanks a lot for the video; it is really helpful.
Maybe I missed it: When is the right moment to set up servo endpoints and neutral position?
And can I use other channels on bank 1 for non-stabilized functions such as throttle or flaps? If not, I would need a 10ch rx for a 8ch plane...
Hi @18AndreasL90! I (quickly) mention endpoints after I'm done with the first self-check (ruclips.net/video/DGATksRJcMk/видео.htmlsi=Kljwmx67qR-NlvGE&t=752). You can set subtrim and endpoints anytime, but you need to make sure to do a self-check after, so that the gyro learns what your new limits are.
What I did in the video:
- Initial self-check without touching any subtrim/endpoints/servo reverse.
- Ensure the gyro is moving the correct servos in the expected directions (you might need to reverse some channel in the SRX menu).
- Tweak subtrims and endpoints
- Do a final self-check
For non stabilized functions, you should put those in bank 2 and disable stabilization in bank 2. You don't need a 10ch rx for a 8ch plane. You can use ch 7 and 8. Additionally, you can map receiver pins to other channels. By default, the receiver has ch1 mapped to pin 1, ch2 -> pin 2 and so on. You chan change this in the RX options menu. For example, Ch6 is set to Elevator 2 in the gyro. If you don't have 2 elevators, you could connect you flaps to pin 6. Then, in the RX options menu, you can remap pin 6 to a different channel not affected by the gyro (i.e. channel 9).
@@skyboundrcThank you so much for your very helpful and quick answer!
So I can set endpoints whenever I want, including before setting up stabilization, for e.g. mechanical protection of the linkages, should these be limited by the airframe... 👍
Also I will make sure to set up the pin assignment.
Greetings from Germany!
I set up my receiver exactly the same however in self level mode the plane wants to pitch down. I have been flying with the mode off completely as it has almost crashed the plane several times with it on. Any suggestions on what the issue might be when its in the self level mode? I have confirmed all directions of flight during the preflight. It as if the gyro doesn't think the plane is flying level during flight when I switch it on.
I believe there's a elevator offset that you can change in the "SRX Stable" menu. You can tweak that until the plane tracks horizontal in self-level
great video but where can i find stabilization speak values i dont have in my transmitter
Hi! What do you mean? Are you talking about the SRX Stable page or the audio files to call out the gain values?
How do you set up reverse thrust
I haven't done it on this EDF
