Amazing work Chuck. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. A panel beating friend of mine who makes panels every day said exactly the same thing about the shrinking hammer, "throw it in the bin, it's completely useless"!

Awesome work. I know it would be loud, but would have liked to see some hammer and dolly work. Watching your work makes me want to jump on my Jag.

Very skilled work and hand eye co ordination takes years of practice , all your senses , touch, sight, muscle memory and the sound produced by the metal, you are a true artisan.

That’s beautiful craftsmanship. I’d hope to half your skill in my lifetime. I’ve got a ‘67 restoration in the works right now that thankfully doesn’t need body work.

Mind blowing work!! As always. And when I think of all of those original panels that have ended up on scrap piles when they didn’t need to! Awesome!!

I CAN SEE GOLDIE HAWN IN THE METAL WORK. VERY BEAUTIFUL WORK! I THOUGHT XKES WERE ALUMINUM? CA.N YOU ILLUSTRATE HOW YOU SHRINK

This is beautiful and inspiring work with fantastic explanation. I would love an opportunity to learn these skills from someone who is as passionate, confident and experienced as you are. Your long-practiced skills show through in the work and how you talk us through it. I have some 80's cars needing a lot of bodywork, I'd love to do it myself for the journey and pride, but lack confidence and capability right now. Your videos offer both motivation to attempt these things myself, and appreciation of just how specialist and valuable the work done by experienced craftsmen is.

Great work. I only wish I had a 1/10 of your skill with a dolly and slapper. Thanks for sharing what is possible. Hugh

    Nice work 👌🏻
It’s like seeing double because I’ve just done exactly the same to a Red series 1 bonnet centre.
It was an original rust free one with zero rust which made it worth the labour investment.
The reproduction ones that are available are very poor quality so wasn’t an option for me.
    Subscribed 👍🏻😊

35 years ago had a Maroon 1970 E Type convertable. Called it the 'Purple Penis'!
Some drunken idiot at a party body slammed his back onto it showing off. It left a serious dent in centre bulge so made him pay for complete new bonnet.
The repair shops inexperienced son of the owner quoted £1800 for complete replacement including labour. His Father went mad for not quoting enough as it's endless work fitting each of these bonnets as each one was originally custom fitted to each car.
They did a great job. Then paid them to panel beat the old bonnet ~ (which was by then the property of the insurance company) and eventually sold it on for £500 profit... Happy days!

there was a great song by Marc Bolen and T rex- 'metal guru' written for you Chuck ? ; ) oh yeah, how about a one half hour film of you doing the work- no commentary necessary . . . ?
