Jeff, I thank God for you and your ministry. This is truly your calling. I grew up in the Mormon church and my first thoughts about leaving Mormonism was because of what I saw and heard from street preachers like yourself. I remember I was visiting the temple that had just been built. As we were driving up, there was a line of Christians with big signs protesting against this church and preaching Gospel Truth. I want to encourage you and bless you today by saying that souls are truly being saved through ministries like yours. Keep up the good work! God bless!

      Revelation 20
12 And I saw the dead small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
We are saved by Jesus Christ through his grace! I also believe our free will matters and what we choose to do matters. We are saved by grace after all we can do. Will we do the Lords work and spread his gospel, aka the good news. When we do this we are doing the Lords work (not our own works). Anyone that reads the words of Christ and tries their very best to follow him will find peace in doing our Saviors work. We are all brothers and sisters lets start doing the Lords work together.

NO not at all, it just means I'm beyond grateful for my Saviors atonement and I'm ready to turn my will over to him and serve my Savior and do his work. its all about becoming a new creature through Christ. After we are baptized and saved its our duty to share his gospel and feed his sheep! If we are baptized just to save ourself and we stop going to church and dont share his Gospel and dont become a new creature in Christ, Is our heart in the right place?
God knows our heart so I want him to know how grateful I am for Mercy, Grace and forgiveness for a sinner like me.... I show my gratitude by my works

Confirmation bias is when you think a scripture only applies to the other guy. The LDS believe, and credibly so, that all the rest of Christianity is teaching a gospel other than the one Jesus taught. And those other modern day sects don't even have an angel to blame it on. No angel ever taught Trinitarianism. No angel ever taught Calvinism. No angel can be blamed for Methodism. No angel taught the worship of Mary. At least, not that I am aware of.

I have to respectfully disagree. LDS teachings violate the teachings of Jesus, Moses, & the Prophets. They also claim a polytheistic belief system. Nothing in the Bible or any interpretation of that set of Books, results in a synthesis.
The only option you have is what Joseph Smith chose to do. He lied to others & probably himself. He edited scripture, wrote new books, & gave many false prophecies that failed to come to pass. Mike Winger has the run down if you are interested. Of course Jeff here can also run it down for you.
The LDS church is *NOT* Christian. That is the guise pulled over their believers eyes so they can convert people. I don't know what Joseph Smith thought was happening, but it wasn't from God. Look up the Egyptian scroll he 'translated' without knowing ancient Egyptian, if you doubt. You might find out how much of a fraud he was.

26:11 Thank you Pastor Jeff for all of your wonderful teaching, but one clarification: Saul did _NOT_ "become Paul". Acts 9: "Paul" did not immediately go to Damascus, "Saul" did. Only in Acts 13 do we hear the name "Paul" and it says "Saul, who was also called Paul". 1. It never says that "Saul became Paul" . 2. _Saul_ boldly preaches the gospel, teaches the ekklesia, etc. in Acts 9-13. (By the way, Acts 23: "Paul the Apostle" identifies present tense as a Pharisee) .

We are saved by his grace and atonement ALONG with our own faith and works!
The gospel is simply put "the good news" about the life and ministry of our Lord and Savior even Jesus Christ Judah (8 B.C. - 33 A.D.) in that the only begotten son of our Heavenly Father Jehovah God (Yahweh Elohim Allah) had died for our sins, and that he was buried, and that he was raised from the dead on the third (3rd) day according to the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 15: 1 - 58). The gospel is simply the good news that the wrath of Jehovah God is coming against sinners, BUT we can all live forever (with eternal life and eternal youth) in the Kingdom of God (to come) IF we reconcile ourselves with our Heavenly Father Jehovah God (Yahweh Elohim Allah) BY having belief and faith in Him and His only begotten son Jesus Christ Judah (8 B.C. - 33 A.D.) AND/PLUS we both the acts and works that prove that our faith is genuine AND/PLUS the grace and atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ who had died for our sins, and that he was buried, and that he was raised from the dead! The Mosaic Law of 1513 B.C. was simply a list of six hundred and thirteen (613) commandments that Jehovah God gave to the Israelites through the prophet Moses Levi (1593 B.C. - 1473 B.C.) in order for them to prove through their works and acts (by following these six hundred and thirteen (613) commandments) that their faith in their God whom is our Heavenly Father Jehovah God (Yahweh Elohim Allah) was genuine! Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Judah (8 B.C. - 33 A.D.) simply modified and simplified (Jeremiah 31: 31 - 34) this covenant by having true Christians (his followers) follow just two (2) commandments (Deuteronomy 6: 4, Leviticus: 17 - 18): LOVE GOD and LOVE YOUR FELLOW HUMAN BEING. It is only through our works and acts (by following just these two (2) commandments) that we can prove that our faith in God through His only begotten son is real. It's a very simple equation: our faith in God through His son PLUS our works and acts PLUS the grace and atonement of Jesus Christ (Proverbs 27: 11) EQUALS our salvation. If you want to live forever and ever with eternal life and eternal youth and if you want to be reunited with your loved ones (including both family and friends) in the Blessed Hereafter, then you will have to follow the commandment of the Messiah (John 13: 31 - 35, John 14: 15 - 18, John 15: 9 - 17)!
      JST 1 Corinthians 15: 1 - 58
So is the confessing sinner (highway robber bandit) crucified next to our Lord saved (Luke 23: 1 - 56 (26 - 43, 39 - 43))?
      JST Luke 23: 1 - 57 (26 - 44)
Yes, BUT ONLY if he can do an act or a work to show that his faith in Jehovah God through Christ Jesus is genuine. So what work did the highway robber do? Believe! Faith is an act! To believe is a work! You must do an act or a work to show that your faith is genuine or your faith is not real! Isaiah 64: 1 - 12 (6 - 7) and James 2: 1 - 26 (14 - 26).
      Isaiah 64: 1 - 12 (6 - 7)
      James 2: 1 - 26 (14 - 26)
      JST Isaiah 64: 1 - 12 (6 - 7)
      JST James 2: 1 - 25 (14 - 25)

Make no mistake, the gospel is for unbelievers, not the saints. Ephesians is written to the saints, so being saved by grace through faith ISN"T the gospel. The gospel is Acts 2:38. Peter preached, "Repent, be baptized in Jesus' name & receive the Holy Spirit. The result: 3,000 unbelievers were saved. Acts 3:19, he preached "Repent & turn to God. The result: now 5,000 were saved. That is the gospel. Ephesians, 1 Cor. & Romans are letters written to saints. What's a saint? Someone who repented, got baptized in Jesus' name & received the Holy Spirit. Any other gospel is a false gospel.

Is Christ's grace sufficient to pay for the belief that works are necessary?

    • @fayelewis5476
      @fayelewis5476 6 лет назад +2

      No, it is not sufficient.
Grace is the opposite of works.
Grace is undeserved favor. In other words, something good granted to a person although he/she did nothing to earn or merit it. In fact, grace can be shown to those who deserve the opposite (i.e. punishment).
Example: A rapist is before a judge. The judge pardons him even though the evidence confirms that he is guilty.
God's grace will never be sufficient to pay for the belief that works are necessary when you have a Bible and have access to the truth. In fact, your judgment will be greater because you know the truth and reject it in comparison to those who do not have access to a Bible.
Romans 4:5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness,
Titus 3:5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit
You and I are criminals in God's eyes. We have broken God's moral law the ten commandments. We all deserve death and hell. And you plan on bribing the God of the universe with your works? How is that going to work? Do you do that when you get pulled over by the police? Every sin you have ever committed must be paid for. You are going to be judged on all the wrong things you have done. Every lie, every lustful thought, etc. "Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin." You need a blood sacrifice.

    • @AntonydenDulk
      @AntonydenDulk 6 лет назад

I am not trying to bribe God with my works, I am showing my love for Him by doing whatever works I can do. It is not through works I am saved unless you count Faith as a work. I have faith in Christ and believe that He has washed me clean of every sin. First comes faith and then come works. Faith is a principle of action, without faith you would never do your works - a person works in a job because they have faith that their boss will compensate that work, if they did believe that the boss would pay them at least what is agreed they would not do the work.
Christ taught in John 14:15, "If you love me, keep my commandments." If you do not try to do what Christ has commanded then you do not love Him, that means you need to do the work of keeping Christ's commandments. He then goes on to promise in the following verses that if you keep His commandments He will ask the Father to give you a comforter, even the Holy Ghost. The corollary which is not spelled out here is that if you do not do the works, you will not receive the promised comforter and you will continue to be damned.
Titus 3:5 read in context is telling us that before our faith in Christ we were doing abominable things and that it is the mercy of Christ that saves us from that state, it does not teach that works are unnecessary after we believe in Christ.
To understand Romans 4:5 we need to look at who Paul is preaching against here - that is those who believe that they will be saved by works without faith on Christ. He is pointing out that having faith in Christ is a step up from their state since they are damned. Romans 3 teaches that man is not justified by the law of Moses but is justified through righteousness, which comes through faith in Christ, made possible through Christ’s atoning sacrifice. Romans 4 teaches that Abraham’s faith was accounted to him for righteousness and that we are justified by faith, righteous works, and grace. Abraham had faith, he received God's blessing because of that faith, and because of that faith he did the work of circumcision that God required of him.
You have the Bible and access to the truth and yet you do not understand all that it is teaching and you are doing things that are wrong, we all are. When you say that Christ's sacrifice is not sufficient to pay for our unbelief (or false belief) then what about the things you currently believe that are false beliefs? Is Christ's grace not sufficient to cover your false beliefs even though you have faith in Him? If it is, then why is it not sufficient to cover a false belief about works in those who have faith in Christ?

    • @fayelewis5476
      @fayelewis5476 6 лет назад +1

God's grace did not cover the Pharisees false belief that keeping the law, ordinances and commandments would get them into heaven. They followed 613 laws, ordinances and commandments (MItzvot) but still ended up in hell. Jesus said your righteousness had to exceed that of the Pharisees.
Matthew 5:20 20 “For I say to you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.
Are you better than the Pharisees?
You have to be perfect to get into heaven.
God is not Santa Claus. Jesus Christ warned of hell more than anyone else. Millions of people believe that Jesus Christ existed. Even died and rose again. That doesn't mean they will be in heaven.
LDS have the wrong 'Jesus.' The 'Jesus' of Mormonism is the brother of Lucifer. There is no such thing. The 'God' of Mormonism was an exalted man. There is no such thing. When you have faith in the wrong god and the wrong jesus no matter how sincere you are will never enter into the kingdom of heaven. God will not be mocked.
John 10:1 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief and a robber. So Jesus said to them again, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. I am the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved,
Romans 4 teaches that even Abraham was saved by faith and not works.
For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3 For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” 4 Now to the one who works, his wage is not credited as a favor, but as what is due. 5 But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness
If you want the eternal life that Jesus can give you, then trust what He did on the cross and do not rely on your own works to please God. Trust Jesus by faith.

      @AntonydenDulk 6 лет назад

Faye, did you even bother reading what I wrote?
Do you even see me saying that I am relying on works to please God?
Did you even bother reading Romans 4 and actually seeing what is written there? Do you not see how Abraham because of his faith produced works? It is right there in plain English.
How can you even claim to have a better understanding of God when you cannot even see and understand what is written in Romans 4 or even understand what I have written?
In your response to me you totally ignored what Christ said in John 14 verse 15 in your bid to continue to push your false understanding onto me. It is as if you do not believe Jesus Christ, as such how can you even claim to have faith in Him and thus to be saved?

I love the ministry you are doing, but I think Calvaism Aldo teaches a different God. A God that doesn't give people free will and a God that selects some people for heaven and some for hell. It means that those who will be saved cannot resist salvation and those pre selected for hell have zero chance at salvation. The bible teaches otherwise and this is dangerous teaching and actually made me feel terrible the first time I hear it from John MacArthur. But it's very important not to follow after people like Calvin, but after Jesus Christ and after whet the bible teaches. I don't mean to rant, I just can't believe how many people that I love to listen to, believe this Calvanism junk.

@Joshua Jorgensen Romans 9, John 10, Ephesians 2, 1 Corinthians 1 emphasis on v 8, John 18:9, Exodus (when God hardens Pharohs heart to show His Glory), there are many parts of the Bible where God tells people that he has "reserved unto himself" x number of people.
It's a not true that Calvinism/the Gospel that men don't have free will. We do, but our hearts by nature hate the things of God. No man seeks after God -- not one. It is only by giving us a new heart that we can love God. Ephesians 2 says we were dead in our trespasses and our sins but we have been made alive in Christ. When Christ raises people from the dead in the gospels he didn't ask permission of the dead person. Christ didn't say "Lazarus please come out if you want, I'd really appreciate it. Please?" No. Christ commanded "Lazarus, come out!"

Right at the start buddy: "Behold, the man is become as one of us, knowing good and evil"(Gen 3:22). Where does it say man loses that capability? Oops, it doesn't. So man can discern and choose good and evil things, which even Jesus acknowledged: "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children..." (Matt 7:11) We are evil, in the sense of not being saved and purified yet. But unless you think such definite statements are just a fake out on the part of God, then people are imbued with the ability to discern and choose good and evil. Wow, sort of ruins your day, I bet.

Paul did not confer with flesh and blood - he didn't get his gospel from the other apostles. He stresses that. He also stresses his disagreements with them trying to get his converts to circumcise and keep various aspects of the law for salvation and to please God. The Jewish Christians (That went out from the apostles) were the ones advocating Paul's converts observe days and were perverting Paul's gospel - (Just as he said of Peter who was "not being HONEST about the gospel")

I agree your false Christ does disagree with me. We are all made in God's image. We are not all God's children, for to be a child of God, you must be born-again, and you are not born-again by worshiping a false Christ. Our Father who art in heaven is a prayer to the God who has saved His elect. You are not one God's elect because you worship a Father who is unable to transcend all things, time and space, who is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. God can't be these things if he is limited by the flesh and is a physical being that you worship. The Bible says God is spirit, no man can see Him, and there are no gods before Him, beside Him, or after Him. He alone is from everlasting in the Trinity with the only begotten Son and Holy Spirit. "Only" means unique. As the 2nd Person of the Trinity Jesus is, certainly unique. Jesus is I AM and the Father is I AM. There is only one I AM, hence, only the Trinity is true. Your polytheism and tritheism is a heresy, so since you will never accept Christ, you are going to Hell.

No one is born a child of God, but we become His children through faith in Christ:
      John 1:12-13
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
      Galatians 3:26
26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
Even the Book of Mormon agrees that we become God's children:
      Mosiah 27:25-26
      25 And the Lord said unto me: Marvel not that all mankind, yea, men and women, all nations, kindreds, tongues and people, must be born again; yea, born of God, changed from their carnal and fallen state, to a state of righteousness, being redeemed of God, becoming his sons and daughters;
26 And thus they become new creatures; and unless they do this, they can in nowise inherit the kingdom of God.

Weak, dude, weak. You're not going to get any traction against LDS members with that lame question. The Bible says we are all children of God. Jesus Christ is different in that God the Father is literally the father of Jesus, having been conceived by the Holy Ghost, as the bible says. Jesus states that "my father is greater than I" (John 14:28) which obviously makes Jesus and his Father two separate and distinct beings. Jesus prayed to his father on occasion. I seriously doubt that Jesus was talking to himself.

@@vjcarter4657 humm You copied wiki? So you think Paul was talking about Mormons who would not be around for 1800 years? That is not logical. Paul and John were warning the saints in their time to ignore the Gnostic Gospels. The Gnostic Gospels were written by Gnostic groups some of which were led by former leaders of the Christian Church who would use Christian apostles names on fake Gospels to pose, to teach false doctrines. #1 the biggest false doctrine they believed was Jesus never died on the cross, but just appeared to do so. #2 that Jehovah of the Old Testament was an evil god. It is now thought that they used Christian letters, Gospels, and acts, that were truly written by Apostles and polluted them. "The Acts of John" is one example. The first half may be true but the last part is polluted. As for the doctrine that man can become a God ..it was taught by Orthodox Christian Bishops who were later made saints and is not heresy. They wrote that Jesus i.e. God became a man to teach man how man could become a God. There are many references. In the Gospel of John 17: and Revelation 3:21 are two of many examples....Hope this helps.

@@vjcarter4657 Anytime. In the early church Jesus called the 12 apostles to go into the world as missionaries then rule the church. He then called the 70 as secondary apostles ("Sent Ones"). See Luke 10:1. of the writers of the four Gospels Matthew and John were of the 12 . Mark and Luke and Paul were 70s. When in the letters of Paul we read Paul saluting many individuals by name it is because he is identifying the true seventies. Stephan and the seven were also seventies. In John's Book of Revelation we read Jesus appearing to John and telling John to say unto the churches (chapters1-3) . We note there are 7. That is because John one of the 12 was the Bishop of Bishops. The churches had Bishops most often who had been one of the 70s now under John's stewardship. In Revelation 2:2 Jesus tells John to those of the church of Ephesus who can not bear those who say they are apostles and are not. This is in reference to 70s who were once leaders of the church but became Evil Gnostics and were liars. It is theses types of heretics who John and Paul are warning the saints against. In fact I forgot were it is located but there is verse where Paul warns the saints of a 70 who had left the true gospel and was teaching doctrine of demons. I hope this helps.

Here is a way to find the correct church on earth today.
THERE IS only true and living church upon the face of the whole earth”
What does this mean? It does not mean that other churches do not have some truth, for certainly they do. It does not mean that other churches do not render good, for they render much good. What it does mean is that this is the only church that has all the truth that has been revealed thus far in this dispensation-the only church that has the ordinances necessary for exaltation and the only church that has the priesthood of God to perform those ordinances with divine validity.
Christ built a home to best accommodate the spiritual needs of His children. It was called His Church. The spiritual blueprint for this Church can be found in the New Testament.
If one desired to discover Christ’s Church today, he would want to match the spiritual blueprint found in the New Testament against every Christian church in the world until he discovered a church that matched the blueprint-organization for organization, teaching for teaching, ordinance for ordinance, fruit for fruit, and revelation for revelation. In doing so, he might find some churches that had some similarities-a teaching or two that overlapped, an ordinance that is the same, some offices that bear common names-but he will only find one church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, that matches the blueprint in every material respect. Now I would like to put that assertion to the test.
Let us turn to the first page of the blueprint and discover what was the “Organization” of Christ’s Church as revealed therein. First, Christ’s Church was founded on apostles and prophets. When Paul was writing to some new members of the Church, he said that they were now “built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone” (Ephesians 2:20
When one Apostle, such as Judas, died and a portion of the foundation was “chipped away,” the other 11 Apostles gathered together and chose a successor so that the foundation would be whole again (see Acts 1:22-25). the Apostles were critical to keeping the doctrine pure.
In order to assist the Savior and His Apostles in preaching the gospel to the world, the Savior chose other men, called Seventy, to prepare the way. We read of these Seventy in Luke, chapter 10. Do you know of a church today that matches this -that has the office of Seventy?
The blueprint of the New Testament reveals other officers that constituted part of the organization of Christ’s Church: bishops (see 1 Timothy 3; Titus 1:7); elders (see Acts 14:23; Titus 1:5); deacons (see Philippians 1:1); evangelists (see Ephesians 4:11), meaning patriarchs1; and pastors (see Ephesians 4:11), meaning such men as bishops and stake presidents who preside over a flock.2
What was the name of the church organized by Christ? If we are baptized in the name of Christ, if we pray in the name of Christ, if we are saved in the name of Christ, and if He is the founder and chief cornerstone of His Church, what would you expect the name of His Church to be? The Church of Jesus Christ.
What were the “Teachings” of Christ’s Church? Let us examine a few:
Is God solely a spirit, or does He also have a body of flesh and bones? What does the Bible teach?
After Christ’s Resurrection, He appeared to His disciples, who mistakenly thought He was a spirit (see Luke 24:37). To correct their misimpression, He said, “Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have” (Luke 24:3
Are God and Jesus the same Being, as taught by much of the Christian world, or two separate Beings? What does the Bible say?
The number of references in the Bible to the separate identity and separate roles of the Father and Son is staggering. In the Garden of Gethsemane, recognizing the excruciating pain that was yet to be His, the Savior declared, “Not my will, but thine, be done” (Luke 22:42). This is the grandest act of submission the world has ever known. But what submission would there have been if there was no other Being to whom He could submit-if He and the Father were one and the same Being? Why does the Savior pray to the Father or cry out, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” (Mark 15:34). How could He be forsaken if there was no separate Being to forsake Him? How did Stephen see Jesus standing on the right hand of God if They are not two persons (see Acts 7:55-56)?
Are God and Jesus the same Being, as taught by much of the Christian world, or two separate Beings? What does the Bible say?

How did Stephen see Jesus standing on the right hand of God if They are not two persons (see Acts 7:55-56)?
Peter wrote, “For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit” (1 Peter 4:6)
Are there three heavens or one heaven? For years the Christian world has taught there is one heaven and one hell,
Paul taught, “There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars” (1 Corinthians 15:41). Paul subsequently confirmed the truth of this three-tiered heaven when he recounted the vision of a man “caught up to the third heaven” (2 Corinthians 12:2). Could there be a third heaven if there was no second or first heaven?
    Is baptism essential for salvation?
    After Christ set the example by being baptized, He declared in unequivocal terms, “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God” (John 3:5; italics added). Peter taught similarly, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost” (Acts 2:38;
Is baptism to be done by sprinkling, pouring, or immersion? The blueprint gives at least four evidences that baptism is to be done by immersion:
First, the Savior, our great Exemplar, came up “straightway out of the water” (Matthew 3:16), indicating He must have first gone down into the water.
Second, John the Baptist “was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there” (John 3:23; italics added). Why would he travel to a place of “much water” if sprinkling or pouring were accepted modes of baptism?
Third, Paul tells us that baptism is symbolic of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ (see Romans 6:3-5). As the new convert stands in the waters of baptism, he represents the old man about to die. As he is immersed in the water, his sins are “buried” and forgiven by the symbolic cleansing power of the water. Then, as he rises from the water, he stands as a representative of the new or resurrected man in Jesus Christ. All of that symbolism underlying baptism is consistent with baptism by immersion, but it is lost-totally lost-with sprinkling and pouring. And fourth, the Greek word from which baptism is translated means to dip or plunge in the water.
Christ’s Church records many accounts of angels and visions. Some people look with skepticism today at a church that claims angels and visions, but in so doing forget that angels and visions were a critical part of Christ’s original Church: the angel announcing the birth of Christ to Mary; the angels coming to Peter, James, and John on the Mount of Transfiguration; the angel releasing Peter and John from prison; the angel speaking to Cornelius; the angel warning Paul of the impending shipwreck; the angel coming to John the Revelator; Stephen’s vision of the Father and the Son; John’s vision of the last days; and many more.
It was a missionary church-the Apostles being commanded to “go ye therefore, and teach all nations” (Matthew 28:19). What church has over 80,000 missionaries fulfilling that command and bearing the fruit of doing so.
Christ established His Church on earth, reveals it had a link to heaven-namely, “Divine Revelation.” Without this link the Church would be no more than a man-driven organization governed by the powers of reason. The prophet Amos declared, “Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets” (Amos 3:7). Paul confirmed that revelation was an integral part of the Church and was meant to be ongoing, for he declared, “I will come to visions and revelations of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 12:1; see also Acts 1:2).
If one were to match the blueprint of Christ’s original Church against every church in the world today, he would find that point for point, organization for organization, teaching for teaching, ordinance for ordinance, fruit for fruit, and revelation for revelation, it will only match one-The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Quick question.. is Christian the name of your church?? What church are u a member of? If I call myself a believer then I'm good?? Would that be the name of my church? it just gets more confusing day by day... I have no clue what Christians believe in nowadays?? Some say baptism isn't necessary, some are confused as to who they are really praying to, some believe salvation happens in a swift moment, some believe that if their pastor tells them that they have been born again then its true, sins have been forgiven etc... Some believe that going to some kind of religious school or college gives them the authority to start baptizing people, ...it just goes on and on... trust me on and on... And yet it's so easy for some people to hide behind words such as Christian, or believer... as if they are of one mind or even one body?? Where is the sanity in all of this??

True, by definition, anyone is a "Christian" if they follow a person named Jesus Christ. The point that he means to establish is that when a Mormon says "I follow Jesus and am a Christian" and Durbin says "I follow Jesus and am a Christian" they are referring to different people. An example could be if I say to you "Dave is a cool guy." To you, you may think of some Dave you went to school with years ago while instead I was referring a friend of mine whom you've never met. The point isn't that Mormons can't be called Christians. The point is that when a Mormon says "I'm a Christian because I follow Jesus" they mean someone else by the same name than when I say "I'm a Christian because I follow Jesus. At this time I'm not making an assertion about who is correct, only that this is what is meant when Mormons are said to "not be Christians." We both use the name Jesus, but the person of Jesus in Mormonism is a different individual simply because the claims about him are different than the claims made by non-LDS Christians. I hope that makes sense. Again, this specific reply was not to offer defense or correction. Only to establish what is meant when by non-LDS Christians when they say that Mormons are not Christians. They are essentially saying "your definition of who Jesus is is not the same definition of the Jesus I believe in." And since the traditional, non-LDS Christian church came before the Mormon church, they obviously had the title of Christian first. So no, they are not the same. A Mormon is a Christian based upon their definition of who Jesus is. But that Jesus is different from the Jesus believed in by non-LDS Christians. They just simply are not the same person.

+Troy Leven that's confusing??? aren't Christians devided in their beliefs... There's probably a debate going on right now about the doctrine of the trinity??? Some Christians believe it's true, others reject this doctrine... ??? Really confused??? Basically Christians are still not quite settled in thier beliefs as to who the Savior is, or in other words who it is they are following!! Yet Mormons follow a different Christ??? I believe in the Savior who spoke of unity, who called apostles, who gave power and authority to those he called. The teachings and beliefs behind the word Christian are so broad... Do Christians believe in a Savior who teaches different doctrines, or a Spirit who spreads division and confusion??? Yet Christians feel they have the right to say Mormons follow a different Christ???? Talk about major hypocrisy!!!

Your "fear" is the spirit pointing out how false the other positions such as the Calvinism of Jeff Durbin or the Protestantism of others is. The criteria for a prophet, if applied to Moses, makes him a false prophet. Really you say? Yes. Exodus 13:11, he promises those who follow him out of Egypt will be brought "INTO" the promised land and shall possess it as promised to their fathers. It never happens. Since I don't think Moses is a false prophet, the only possible explanation is that the promise of the prophecy was conditioned on the obedience of those receiving it, even though it doesn't say that. The Bible teaches explicitly that God changes his mind, and relents or repents of his statements, based on how people respond. See Jeremiah 18:7-10; Jonah 3:4-5, 10. God can change his mind based on man's response. This doesn't work with Calvinism, since God is sovereign and man does exactly what he is programmed to do. One of the responders here lied about Calvinism teaching man is free to choose. That is false. They have a doctrine called "Compatibalism", which is a mysterious way of man and god both acting within their will. But it is logically impossible and doctrinally impossible as well. The only nature man has is the nature god gives him. To say man can choose freely is to say god gives a creature the nature of a lion, then offers the lion a meal made from berries and tomatoes, and says "see, he freely chose not to eat." Who gave the beast its nature. Furthermore, consistent Calvinists, also called high Calvinists, will say even that choice was actually pre-determined. There is no such thing as a second will by anyone. Calvin himself taught this. Everything is predetermined by God alone. There is no chance of someone who is predetermined by god of receiving an opportunity to believe, acting on that faith, and being born again. Calvinists believe our Father in Heaven created most of his children with the intent and purpose to send them to hell and eternal torment. They explain away passages stating God loves the whole world by saying that is a love which gives them some nice things in this life. Such a being is only a monster, and many protestants call the god of Calvinism a monster. But ask the right question: Where is this revealed in the Bible? Well, just like the Trinity, they will tell you it is not revealed in a single place in the Bible, you have to compile and deduce it. Paul was too stupid to put it in a single place where he might be discussing salvation, like the letter to the Romans where he completely explains salvation. They ignore the fact that Romans 5:18 explicitly teaches God has ALL PEOPLE. Ask them what that means. Well, all doesn't actually mean all, is what they will say. But that means Romans 5:12, which states Adam's fall came upon all people, is actually more extensive and stronger than the atonement of Christ, which is the exact opposite of what Paul is teaching there. So they have to contradict scripture to make their doctrine work. By contrast, Mormons have always taught that all people are justified. That is the resurrection from the dead, which is what the fall of Adam caused. To retain forgiveness we must be faithful and obedient, so teaches Romans 6, and if we stay faithful we will receive exaltation, Romans 8:14-18. The so called Golden Chain of Romans 8:29-30 is about the absolute surety of the resurrection, since that is the Image of Jesus, which reflects back on the bodies of people created back in Genesis 1:26-27. You rightly feel Mormonism is true, because it is. It is even more clear that non-Mormonism is false. Uninspired teachers was never the way of God.

Jesus said, "Follow Me." Jesus is the good Shepherd. Jesus will never let you down.
John 10:27-29 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; 28 and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.

Shame on you. You chose a position without any critical thinking, and then spent all your time trying to support your decision with anti-Mormon propaganda. You turned salvation into a game, and did everything to promote your initial uneducated stance. You closed your mind and ended up rejecting true Christianity in your zeal against trusting the spirit of God. And then, without any authority, you proceeded to browbeat your friend until he gave up the thing he loved.

That's funny it is happening today!!! LDS missionaries are all over the world, many of whom are filled with the Spirit of God. And many converts are experiencing the visions and blessings of old!!! We can try to force things ...it's possible, but it helps when you are being filled with the Spirit of God. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is strong in their missionary efforts for a reason! Members along with missionaries are being filled and led by the Holy Ghost, ...they are learning to govern themselves through divine revelation. Many converts have a desire to do missionary work even before their own baptism!! why? Because of the knowledge of God that which has entered their heart through the revelations of the Spirit. Proverbs 2:1-5 It is no small thing to receive knowledge through personal revelation!!!! The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a living church.. it is one thing to read of the power of God and revelation in the Bible, but it is a whole different story to actually experience it yourself!!

Mormons are taught that emotion is the Holy Ghost. They generate lots of emotion and heart sell people into the church. They also teach a very watered down version of Mormonism without really emphasizing the things that would shock the people. Once you are in, you get used to the fraternity of the Church and know that if you leave your social network will fall apart. It's counterfeit but its emotional crack and people learn to ignore the contradictory things to their church because they are hooked on the idea that it's the only thing true in the world. All that you have to do is to read a few verses in the Bible to know that Mormonism is a poor imitator of Christianity. Just start with who God is.
In Mormonism, God is one of a multitude of Gods, the child of two literal gods who also had parents. Mormon members are taught that they can have the same godhood in the future and procreate spiritual children and have their own type of earth so that their spirit children can also ascend to godhood. The bible tells of a different God.
Isaiah43:10-11 - "Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he:before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no savior."
Isaiah44:6,8 - "Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.Fear ye not, neither be afraid; have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any."
He knows no other Gods. Get it? So why does Mormonism teach of the plurality of the Gods?

just about ALL good biblical teachers who teach from the scripture and take the text seriously end up close to that spot. only liberals end up other places, but they don't study the bible outside of their small groups and it shows...

Why such an obsession with Mormonism? And why not post videos of the Mormons that know more than Jeff (of which there are many)? Shamelessly using videos after blindsiding brethren is not about the glory of God. And it's not of the Holy Spirit.
Judge the tree by the fruit. Try to stop being so insecure about your own faith that you need to prove to everybody how right you are about your beliefs.
This is about personal pride...God will confound your wisdom and pride precedes the fall, bud. I'm praying for you.

bored todeath when Joseph Smith was in the forest and he asks God which denomination to choose, God says that all of the denominations are a work of the devil. Does that sound like persecution?
Truth has a dividing line. Rather than saying "oh you're attacking you're own brother" why don't you try to understand his side and refute him?
Telling someone their falsehood does not show insecurities.

He is "reasoning" with people just like Apostle Paul did at the areopagus in Acts 17 to try to help the Mormon people see the farce that they believe in. To show them the error of their ways. To rescue them out of a cult.
