B U L L C R A P. You born-agains think they have an inside track on Salvation. You assume a lot. Thousands of "ex" Mormons come back ALL THE TIME.
SO just get over yourself. Don't kid yourself Dudes. You have missed the boat and are risking a lot by knocking a Major Christian Religion of the World.
You are really wrong about all these "issues". Your elitist and exclusionary mentality are sickening. The " biggest issue " you claim~~way off base.
Jesus is the SON of GOD. What you are doing is basing conclusions on FALSE premises and YOUR personal interpretations. Your context is skewed beyond belief. Blanket statements about LDS beliefs: laughable at best. You yourself are 'TWISTING" the Scriptures. Thousands of "christian" Churches are charlatans as you say.
But that is not what the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is. Not even close.
Salvation": of course "man" doesn't qualify himself. Your knowledge of the Scriptures is not as great as you think it is. Again, your holier than though
attitude~~~ It really sucks. I HAVE lost everything before. It's just my wife and me now. We have gained more than you can imagine so get over yourself.
We are following Christ so QUIT all the judgment and double-talk. Go ahead and build up teachers after yourselves having itching ears. You have
FALLEN SHORT. Wash and Pray. Salvation is a FREE GIFT from the Lord and Savior even Jesus Christ.

Not by faith alone, this in and of itself contradicts the bible. Your so-called book, is full of double contradictions against the one true word of God, it is really sad. False information is being passed around by these man-made churches. I’m not sure if it’s mainly through ignorance or if it‘s part of their agenda. I think it’s partly both. We Latter-day Saints are exactly that: Latter-day Saints, which distinguish us from the former-day Saints who were members of the Church of Jesus Christ 2000 years ago. It is the latter days now, so, since we are members of the Church of Jesus Christ in the latter days, the Lord Jesus Christ Himself gave His Church the name The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In the New Testament, the Lord gave the organization of His Church 2000 years ago. NONE OF THE MAN-MADE CHURCHES ON THE EARTH TODAY USE THAT ORGANIZATION. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints uses the organization that the Lord has instructed it to use. There are certain changes because of the Church of Jesus Christ being much larger today in the latter day than it was 2000 years ago, but something that needs to be said is this: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the EXACT SAME CHURCH that the Savior organized 2000 years ago. On May 15, 1829, John the Baptist PERSONALLY APPEARED to the Prophet Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery, laid his hands on their heads, and conferred the AARONIC PRIESTHOOD on them. He also Restored the Authority to baptize, which Authority had been lost for centuries. Shortly afterwards, Peter, James, and John personally appeared to them, laid their hands on Joseph Smith’s head and Oliver Cowdery’s head, and conferred the MELCHIZEDEK PRIESTHOOD on them. ONLY THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS HAS THE AUTHORITY TO BAPTIZE, BESTOW THE HOLY GHOST, AND TO PERFORM THE HOLY ORDINANCES OF GOD. God and Jesus Christ both, together, personally appeared to 14-year-old Joseph Smith in the Spring of 1820, and Jesus Christ, knowing there were three Protestant denominations having Revivals in the Palmyra-Manchester area at that time, voiced His feelings about man-made churches. He told Joseph Smith: Join none of them, for they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They teach for doctrine the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.
The people on this thread who say they left the Mormon Church (they always use the term Mormon) and found Jesus, I will say this to you: when you left The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and connected with one of the man-made churches of the world, you offended God and Christ, and none of these man-made churches in the world can save you. Just like the Apostle Paul in the New Testament says, and Jesus Christ in personal Revelation confirms, there are three degrees of Heaven, and God and Christ dwell in the Celestial Kingdom, which the Apostle Paul likened unto the sun, and is the third Heaven that he saw himself in vision a part of. The people who struggle against The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will only condemn themselves before God.

As long as Mormons stay in this church they feel everything will be okay, they are not able to understand the truth of the Bible,
1 Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
They are not taught that Satin in the very beginning deceived first man to disobey God, and that it is in the same way he is deceiving them today, he does it so subtle even though when the indoctrination starts even though they sort of see the truth then another one of their apostles will lie to them and since they think these apostles are speaking the truth from God they then believe more lies.
The sad thing is that Satin has deceived them through Joseph that there is no Hell and that in the end they will end up in Heaven anyway and that only if they cannot achieve the Celestial Kingdom they will still end up in the third Heaven which can’t be that bad because it is still Heaven, they believe as long as they don’t become an apostate by leaving the church, those people are the only ones that end up in Hell. Satin is able to convince them through Joseph as long as they stay in church.
The Mormons have changed the core meaning of God’s Word that has been around for thousands of years, Joseph destroyed it in less than 200 years. God’s Word was changed into the different languages so the World could understand the originals but Gods Word stayed the same in those translations.
Another thing was that both sides showed each other great respect, so that the audience could hear both sides quite clearly. This was so commendable on both sides. The wonderful thing about this whole thing was that Jeff has done his homework and was so prepared, Praise be to God for people like Jeff, he actually make the Mormon people look foolish because they show us that it is okay that they are being deceived but that part did not matter as long as they stay faithful to the doctrine of the Mormon teachings no matter how deceiving it has been according to Gods own Word. If only each Mormon that hears this and allows their heart to be opened to this Good News, I believe more Mormons will be reached by this RUclips Video than anything else that I have heard.
The Sad thing I find is that most Mormons that leave their church, don’t seek out the true Jesus but become either Atheist or an Agnostic, and they seem to forget that they are still going to give and account for what they did with Jesus Gods only Son, and for that rejecting of His Son the Lord Jesus they are going to be punished FOREVER. This hurts me to think about that because I want them, the same as Jeff truly does, to also see them in Heaven FOREVER instead.
Jesus took their punishment on the cross instead and He is their free gift to them if only they will hold out their hand and say YES Lord Jesus, I accept you as MY OWN personal Savior.

I went from new age to Christianity. Joe Rogan turned me away from God with videos about natural psychedelics and DMT. I was a new age young man who was a raver.. I became deceived, and I was enslaved by my sin for years. Always seeking drugs for spiritual rebirth.. Only to be enslaved by my sin time and time again. Unfortunately, for me, it took leading myself to complete depravity, emptiness, darkness, weakness, poor health in the midst of my drug and alcohol addiction to finally turn to Christ. For YEARS I struggled with depression. My lust addiction made me feel worthless, and broken all the time. I never had confidence, and I didn't care anymore. I just accepted I was going to have to deal with it and be a broken person for the rest of my life. Having submitted to Christ, those empty depressed feelings are being replaced with love, and comforting care. Giving my life to Christ is the best decision Ive ever made. I know he has a beautiful plan for me, and although walking by faith isn't easy sometimes, I know I can count on him and fully submit to him everyday, and trust that he has his reasons for everything. It is good that you are free of lies. I don't think anyone is ever free of pride. It is always an ongoing struggle.
The gospel means, 'good news.' However, in order to have good news there must obviously be bad news.
The bad news is that we are born in sin (Psalm 51:5), and we are guilty of breaking God’s holy laws (Romans 3:9-20, 23; 1 John 1:8-10). We are enemies of God (Romans 5:6, 10; 8:7; Colossians 1:21), deserving of death (Romans 6:23a). We are unrighteous (Romans 3:10) and without means of justifying ourselves (Romans 3:20). Spiritually, we are destitute, blind, unclean, and dead. Our souls are in peril of everlasting punishment in outer darkness/hell.
Eph. 2 And you were (spiritually) dead in your trespasses and sins, 2 in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air (Satan), of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. ....and were by nature children of wrath,
Dead people cannot get to the hospital. Besides, there is nothing we can do to merit salvation and everlasting life. We cannot bribe the God of the universe. "By the works of the Law shall no flesh be justified."
Not even Abraham was justified by his works.
Romans 4 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. 3 For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.” But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness,
The gospel, the good news, is that God himself became a man, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus Christ humbled himself, shed His blood, died and rose again. He paid the penalty for your sin. All you need to do is humble yourself, repent of your sin and put your faith in Jesus Christ. The moment you do that God will grant you the gift of everlasting life. Romans 6:23 God will also fill you with His Holy Spirit. Eph. 1:13 It is that simple.
If you're in a court of law guilty of serious crimes (lying, adultery (whoever looks at another person to lust after them has committed adultery), murder (whoever hates his brother is a murderer already in his heart), stealing, etc.) and the judge finds out someone has already paid your fine, the judge has to let you go. Every sin you have ever committed must be paid for. Saying 'sorry' to the Judge isn't going to work. "Without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin."
Jesus has already stepped in and paid your fine with His life's blood.
Now I make known to you, brethren, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand,..... that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
      _______________
How to be saved is illustrated in this parable.
      Luke 18
And He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt:
10 “Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.
11 The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
12 I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.’
13 But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, the sinner!’
14 I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.”
      God bless you!

This so important!!!!! I left Mormonism over 10 years ago and didn’t want anything to do with religion. I told people I was a “non-practicing atheist” because I didn’t believe but didn’t want to be associated with what I saw as the hate filled atheists I saw. I went to an Alpha class a course 2 years ago, then went a second time and started going to a Christian Church. I didn’t realize that I did not know Christ. The God I wasn’t believing in was not the God of the Bible. I was an atheist of the Mormon god. I have many friends I made in the Mormon church who have now also left. ALL of them have left all religion behind snd it makes me sad. It makes me mad at the Mormon church and leads me to believe that the lds church is NOT just another church, but a work of the devil.
My faith in Christ is new and not perfect. I want to learn the Bible as well as Jeff. I want to be able to quote scriptures so that I can testify of Jesus to Mormons.

    • @terrybellowes908

Jay, that is very important. 45 years ago I was asked if I was Born Again, and instead of asking them the meaning I spent over a year in a persistent search for the answer. It was pre internet and I was only about 14, but I figured 1)Is God real - if He is He is probably not in the church a mile from my house. 2) There must be a million churches (I was young!), and 3) Is the bible true, and if not which books is. I did not believe then God had placed those questions in my heart, but as I see how little people care about the issues now (in general) I believe He did.
I found the Protestant seemed to have the most going for it so I compared every group (I learned) to the Protestant faith, and then spent several months doing what I could to see if the bible was true (Thank you, Josh McDowell who had just published "Evidence That Demands a Verdict"). I mention all this to make a point, and it is not to claim any infallibility or even to be a better believer than anyone else. The point is, as a result of this study, I had found LDS and JW members who served "God" with all their heart, but did not know they had been serving a false construct. Dr. Walter Martin was still alive and I got to see him speak in Portland. Despite any negative feelings toward him people had, there was no doubt in my mind he loved the LDS people and was willing to be hated to see them saved.
Since then I have felt the continuing call to witness to them. Although harvests have been few, the chance to water comes every week. While not claiming to be gifted with the skill Pastor Jeff Durbin has, I have carried the concern for them as a burden, feeling a tiny bit like the Apostle Paul who stated "woe be to me if I do not preach the Gospel". Dispite enjoying witnessing to anyone who will listen, the LDS have been the people I have been given a burden for the most.
Jay, I have shared this testimony many times, so I don't do it here to boast - I share it here because you are one of the people God pt on my heart years ago when He called me to reach the LDS. I am so glad you shared you story with us. God Bless you.

Weak people unfortunately are born into or join the Mormon church all the time and usually cycle out just as fast. The biggest problem with the mormonchurch is that it is not a christan church. It is a occult organisation, which pretends to be a christian church. The more you give, the more they want and in the end you are so worn out, so you don´t have the strenght to continue building this "heaven" they believe they are building, with secret temple oats where Lucifer gives order. People in this religion needs alot of prayers, so they can wake up and be saved.

Liz evans, I'm a former 6th generation Mormon. I was very very devout and Temple going and Temple garment wearing. And I want you to know that your prayers are being heard by the Lord Almighty! My husband joined the Mormon church because of me. And his family prayed for us for 10 years before the Lord delivered us both out! Believing what you're praying is key! I'm so thankful for his family to have done such a thing for me! My best friend that I grew up with had prayed also during our entire growing up. My husband and I are born again and it's going on 20 years! I tell you this to encourage you to never stop praying and Believe God when you're asking for such a wonderful thing! They prayed in and with faith that God would do it ! They didn't wring their hands or hearts with worry or doubt. They believed! They continued you to live their lives in Christ before me. They never spoken an ugly word against Mormonism. Of which, I was very surprised. They accepted me with full Hearts and love to me as a person. And them living their lives as true Christians, planted seeds in me through the years. I would have never thought for one second that I would ever leave the Mormon church, but then God!!! And at the right time, God awoke me to John chapter 5 verse 29. And from there from February 16, 2000 - March 23rd 2000- I was on a collision course with my Saviour! And the Lord pick me up and brought me out of the pit of which I was in, totally unaware of, and brought me to Himself! So continue to pray and believe and the Holy Spirit will do the work!! 😄❤❤❤

      cinderella princess,
Dear friend, so happy to hear the Holy Spirit is opening your eyes - glory to God!
I left the church over 30 years ago, and have known Christ since April, 1987.
Jesus said, “Truly, truly, I tell you, no one can see the Kingdom of God unless he is born again.” Have you experienced this yet? You’re right - un-learning false doctrine is hard. I would like to help by suggesting you read the Bible and ask the Lord to help you find a church who teaches only His truth so you can learn and grow in the Lord, and where Christ will need you. Talk to the pastor and explain the situation. Most orthodox Christian churches have their “Statements of Faith” (the Essentials) which unites us (see link below). Keep in mind, that if Jesus Christ is in the people, then Jesus Christ is there. We are His “building”. Here are the Christian Essentials that Christians hold to: www.gotquestions.org/essentials-Christian-faith.html

Looks like you made up your mind 40 years ago. To each his/her own. I feel the same way that you do, except I cant believe how clueless the people in the church are.. Actually, I do know why Mormons are the way they are. I remember sitting there with my best friend when we were 18 years old preparing for our missions... we said to each other "There is no way that this church couldn't be true".. we were referring to the way we felt, emotionally, after "feeling the spirit" fast forward 20 years, having opened my mind to the possibility that things could be different than what I had learned, I started reading the Bible with an open mind. That is where it started to fall apart. I cant tell you the fear I had. When seeing for the first time that something wasn't right. It scared me to death, and made me think, "Oh man, if I could only keep my emotions out of this, I could make some real decisions." I only wish that I could have let my best friend know about the great stuff I am learning in the Bible because when he started to see the cracks in the religion, he went the other way, and is no Atheist. Sad stuff, so this is why videos like this are so important to people leaving the Mormon religion. To steer them to the truth, instead of letting Mormonism steal their souls. There is nothing you can say to make me come back now, because I have seen, and cannot un-see...

God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Law was right for Jews, keep by Christians and will be kept in Heaven.
Grace help us keep the law, but does not do away with it.
Law nailed to the cross, were the laws for sacrifice. ( Christ being the true Lamb)
Paul was a ex-Jew speaking to new Christians who were also ex-Jews and knew the Law.
The Sabbath was lost by the Catholics to bring in Sun worshipers and pagans.
So faith (Spirit) with grace (Christ) and the law (Father) is the only way.

Like seeking circumcision to enforce on the new gentile christians who are ethnic jews. Paul says many times that they are spiritual jews and by grace are not put under the same restrictions as the ethnic Jews.
Also, even if you disagree with Catholics.. sun worshipping and pagan? I don’t even think I have to address this..
I’m assuming your referring to them worshipping on sunday rather than saturday as “losing the sabbath”?
I hope you also condemn Jeff durbin and his church then as “losing the sabbath”: for worshiping on sunday as opposed to Saturday.

Actually, I was referring to which Lord...... The Father or Christ. I was wondering which one you found. Both are Lords of this creation just as the scriptures tell us They are.
Interesting Luke....... just what did Joseph Smith "make up" about Jesus that is not true??

What drew my family to the LDS church was the sense of belonging, a strong sense of community, I loved my new friends we use to have such a wonderful clean time together. Then a Baptist pastor gave my mom a list of the Mormon beliefs . Beliefs that they don’t share with you in the discussions. This devastated her so she and my Dad left the church And left me to figure it out on my own. I ended up moving to salt lake trying to find my way. That didn’t work out as planned and I ended up coming home totally depressed. I read everything on Mormonism for several years, basically trying to find the truth. After being married for a few years I lost a pregnancy and through this tragedy I found Jesus. I still question but I know the truth of Jesus. His saving grace

My wife and I would have called ourselves saved. For me since I was 18. For my wife since she was a child. Yet we still engaged in premarital sex. I struggled with alcohol even after the day I would say my conversion. We knew these things were wrong and wanted to stop, but still struggled. I'm not sure the exact point in my life when I gave myself to Christ. Was it when I was 18? That's when my life began to become more holy even though I struggled with sin still. Was it after I repented from my misuse of alcohol? Was it when we were convicted to stop having premarital sex and wait until after marriage? Was it when God gave me the strength to overcome pornography? I'm not sure. I just know that the sanctification in my life is palpable. It's pretty cool to see God work in my life and make me more holy. I sometimes question my faith. My life has been so full of sin. Christ is my cornerstone and I need to be filled with God's strength and have total reliance upon my faith. Not really sure what I'm trying to say. Just rambling at this point haha.

Very good job, Jeff. One of the best explanations of the doctrine of Grace I've ever heard.
A simple way to put the question of "swimming in and out of grace" is thus:
When I become saved, am I saved because I never sin again, or am I saved by my faith in Christ?
I've always looked for a way to explain this. Because it seems many try to teach "perfectionism". The idea that, if you sin as a believer, were you ever saved in the first place.
Even though Paul tells us that the Law was there to show us we could NEVER live up to it. Not in the flesh. So we are sealed and justified in the Spirit, and it is not "us" who sins, but our flesh. And it is a war that rages between our spirit and our flesh. We are going to mess up even after we are saved. It is inevitable. But we are not saved by our ability to not sin. It is only thru by grace thru faith.

I understand and empathize that you were un-affected by your membership of the church. I don't blame anyone for finding what works best for them. You believe Jesus, who you claim is god, died by the hands of his own creation, ie. mankind? His creation killed the creator? And you further believe your god can die? And if he came back to life (resurrected), who brought him back to life? If you say God the Father, doesn't that make the father more powerful than Jesus?
Jesus said to pray to God, just like he prayed to God. Jesus fell on his hands and knees and prayed to God. Jesus also said that all his miracles were the acts of God, and he himself can do nothing except by the will of God. Jesus himself said his message was for the lost sheep unto the house of Israel, meaning the Jews of that time. Paul spread a false doctrine and said it's for all humanity, Jesus never said that.
Jesus was a mighty messenger of God Almighty. He worshipped God, the creator and sustainer of the Earth and the heavens. Repent, submit, and surrender to God Almighty, and heaven will be your forever reward.

His humanity died, but the divinity or Father principle in Him cannot die and raised Him up.
That is why He gave all credit to the Father and was an example to us.

That charecteristic in itself makes the morman god completely different than the God of the Bible. My God has no origin story because he has always been. " As man now is, God once was." I think for Mormons having these terminologies that look Biblical helped them deceive genuine investigators. That is what happened to me long long time a go. When they say God, Jesus, Holy Ghost, Grace, Word of God, Church, Prophet, Gift of the Spirit etc. All these terms are completely derailed from the fact or the Biblical meaning. You understand how much you were tricked once it is late. After close to two decades I am considering leaving, I am trying to untangle my self, lots of entaglement. But, right now I confessed to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Chirst my mistakes. Now I am believing Jesus Christ in the Bilble and I am glad that I found him back. When I first got clean I was doing community service for 400 hours at the food shelf , and some Mormon missionary’s came to volunteer and talked to me for a couple days and they acted as if it’s the same as Christianity almost . Never even named Joseph Smith.. I went online and researched it because they were saying a lot of things that made sense and I was actually going to go to their church because I didn’t belong to one . After I researched online I felt so used and misled , they seemed to completely deceive me .. not sure if that was their goal but I felt not good about it at all..

good topic, and insight. Living in Utah, we have a burden to preach the gospel with Holy Spirit power. Now, the doctrines of grace, they are like mormon doctrine descriptions.

I saw this guy a while ago on a video, and was wondering what happened with him. Awesome video, thank you. I myself am on the fence.... not really, kinda one sided now. Your videos make too much sense to me now. Jeff saying that it is sad when people leave the mormon church they question if god even exists..... That is exactly what I did. When I was a kid I had this line of thought...; if Santa Clause turned out to be a fake, then the Easter Bunny, wouldn't it follow that God would be next.. I went the way of Atheism for a while, and I saw a few videos for a show called "Heart of the Matter" and somehow came across your videos. They brought me back from that nonsense and saved my soul. Thanks guys, I don't know where i would be without your insight. Really, thank you so much.

Thank you for posting this. I am not Mormon and I have not been inside a church since I was a child, but lately I have felt a sense of emptiness inside of me that I can't explain, it's like something is missing and I can't find it. I sat next to a Christian man on a flight a few weeks ago, and he told me about God and I was thinking about our conversation the other day and I found an app where you can read the bible for free. It's the first time I've ever tried reading the bible and it's very difficult to understand, but you explain it so well that if I read the verses as you talk about them I can understand the context and meaning, even though I have to rewind a lot. I don't know if God would forgive me though, I feel like I don't deserve it... I intellectually understand the concept of saved by grace, but when I think about it happening to me I feel completely unworthy, so if there's nothing you can do to make things right then what do you do?

A broken and a contrite spirit God will not despise. Psalm 51
No one is worthy of heaven. We all deserve death and hell. We cannot bribe the God of the universe to let us in. That is why we need a Savior. You need to admit there is nothing you can do to merit salvation. Repent of your sin and put your faith in what Jesus Christ has done for you. He paid the (whole) penalty for your sin. I Peter 2:24
Luke 18 And He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt:
Jesus said, "Follow Me." Jesus is the good Shepherd. Jesus will never let you down.

What does the process of repentance look like? I understand the definition, but how does one go about repenting? Is there a difference in whether or not you were say a Mormon and at least following some type of faith and living a good life, or if you were an atheist? Thank you so much by the way, I appreciate any insight you can provide.

    • @fayelewis5476
      @fayelewis5476 6 лет назад +1

I'm not sure what you mean, a process.
Psalm 51 is a good place to start.
Luke 18 And He also told this parable to some people who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and viewed others with contempt: 10 “Two men went up into the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11 The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: ‘God, I thank You that I am not like other people: swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector. 12 I fast twice a week; I pay tithes of all that I get.’
13 But the tax collector, standing some distance away, was even unwilling to lift up his eyes to heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, ‘God, be [f]merciful to me, the sinner!’ 14 I tell you, this man went to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be exalted.
      _____________
Here is a prophet (he's already a prophet) who realizes how sinful he is.
Isaiah 6 In the year of King Uzziah’s death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple. 2 Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one called out to another and said,
“Holy, Holy, Holy, is the Lord of hosts,
The whole earth is full of His glory.”
4 And the foundations of the thresholds trembled at the voice of him who called out, while the temple was filling with smoke. 5 Then I said,
“Woe is me, for I am ruined!
Because I am a man of unclean lips,
      And I live among a people of unclean lips;
For my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts.”
6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal in his hand, which he had taken from the altar with tongs. 7 He touched my mouth with it and said, “Behold, this has touched your lips; and your iniquity is taken away and your sin is forgiven.”

    • @anonymoususer8947
      @anonymoususer8947 6 лет назад +2

Please correct me if I'm misunderstanding but what you're saying is that everyone is forgiven equally? Regardless of how severe we as human perceive the sin to be? So say you compare a murderer to a shoplifter, they would both be forgiven with the same amount of repentance and time frame, hence the murderer wouldn't have to "do anything extra" even though for example our judicial system would consider that a harsher crime than shoplifting? I apologize this is probably exactly what he talked about in the video but it's still difficult to understand once I try to apply it to everyday life. And with process I meant, how does one go about asking for forgiveness? Is it through prayer? And my other question is, how does one know that God has forgiven you?

    • @fayelewis5476
      @fayelewis5476 6 лет назад

You ask for forgiveness through prayer.
Everyone is forgiven equally. Rev. 21:8 All liars shall have their part in the lake of fire... Lying was just as serious as the other sins mentioned. If only one sin, let's say, had ever been committed Jesus would still have had to die for that one sin.
I John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
However, a murderer is forgiven but they will still have to pay the penalty for their sin here on earth. Some will spend the rest of their natural lives in jail but thankfully they will be with Christ the moment they die.
A shoplifter needs to do restitution, if possible.
You know God has forgiven you by the peace you have. Some people who have sought forgiveness and have asked for forgiveness still feel they are not forgiven. Let's say a woman who has had an abortion, or homosexuality, etc. Things that involved other people or just seem so unforgiveable. Some people are just very sensitive and can't forget what they have done and the ensuing effect it has had on their lives and the lives of others.
At this point you need to keep quoting I John 1:9 and other verses and reminding yourself of the truth of God's word.
Psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our transgressions from us.
Col. 1:14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Eph. 1:7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace
      Acts 3:19; Micah 7:19
We are all the victims of other people's sins. And unfortunately others have been the victim of our own sins. What we need to do is draw nigh to God and use the painful events of our lives to motivate us to do what is right and encourage others to do the same.
What did Paul say, "Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Paul could have spent the rest of his life saying, "if only I hadn't rounded up all those Christians, if only, if only, etc. He would have gone bonkers thinking about all the harm he caused. Instead, he kept his eyes on Christ and on preaching the gospel to any and all he met.
      I hope this helps.

All4Jesus I have been raised in a Christian church my whole life. I can't explain why I stayed with him after finding out he was Mormon, as I was taught not to date outside my religion. Yes, I made mistakes and I have repented for them. I do feel after all that has happened, it strengthened my own faith in that I am now responsible for witnessing to my boyfriend and his family. I know I didn't put myself in a good situation, but I also know anything is possible with God. I am doing everything I can to help him and I really appreciate you praying for us, thank you!

There's an old story among the Mormons they use to laugh at themselves: A BYU coed comes home from college pregnant. Her dad says, "why don't you just marry the guy"? She replied, "I can't, dad...he smokes!" Sounds like your boyfriend isn't enough of a Mormon to live its standards and should be an easy "get" for you Christians.
