    Don't get me wrong, Bedard is a tremendous player. It was a one-man show at the World Juniors. But for my money, McDavid is more skillful. Watch McDavid when he practices. His head is up and he doesn't even have to look down to see the puck. He feels it. If McDavid was on a better team, his stats would skyrocket.

    • @runninwiththedevils

      i wouldn’t consider myself exceptionally talented. i’m saying what he’s doing in this video isn’t impressive. everyone i play with can do this in beer league. he’s got way more skill than what he’s showing here. marking out to him for this is hilarious

    If you never played hockey before, stick handling like this, really hurts your lower back so it’s not easy to maintain for 3-4 minutes.

    • @greathoonta3461
      @greathoonta3461 11 месяцев назад +1

      Uh- it shouldn’t. Your form and stretching is not very good if it hurts like that.
      You shouldn’t be bending your back a lot, to get lower you should be pulling your butt back so that you don’t need to lower your back very much. Notice how Bedard doesn’t bend his back very much, this is important so that his head can stay upward so he can actually see what’s around him.

      Bedards a little cocky for a rookie. Maybe I’m getting old but he could use a little ofMcDavids humbleness. And for the record he could have tossed a few pucks into the crowd. Maybe he did but they didn’t show.

    • @Weekend658
      @Weekend658 11 месяцев назад

      @@greathoonta3461 depends the length of your stick. A forward is going to have a much shorter stick for better wrist and snapshots and better puck control than a defensemen would. My stick was always 2 inches under my nose on skates so I had to really lean down to puck handle but it gave me incredible grip on the puck once it sat in the middle of my blade.

    Meh. Everyone is skilled these days. But out of 800 players in the NHL, Bedard's +/- is tied for 798th worst. He has the worst record of all 100 current rookies. And it ain't because the team sucks. Dickinson is a +8. And it ain't because he's 18. So is Benson, and he's a plus 1. And it ain't because he's a rookie and rookies don't know how to play a two-way game. Marco Rossi is doing fine. No, it's because the dude is out to pad his stats and couldn't care less about playing as part of a team.

    • @Shurehlm
      @Shurehlm 11 месяцев назад

      That's like saying penalty minutes say nothing. You're right, but also wrong. It's not a perfect stat, but take and goal differential statistic you want and Bedard is on the bottom of all rookies and almost the entire league. Why? Because he doesn't play fundamentals. He refuses his responsibilities and is just out their floating and looking to pad his stats. @@umlaut7506
