The innuendo was a constant. Enough so that video posters here are having to edit, which says a lot because such things in the 60's was quite tame by our standards, today.
I very much appreciate the wholesome quality of this show, so don't hate me for saying this....but I did notice that at exactly 4:50, Robin did cop a feel of Batgirl. Looks like Batman was right when he said, "That single statement indicates to me the first oncoming thrust of manhood ole chum." (at 4:07)
Notice that Batgirl has her belt around her hips and not her waist. Julie Newmar changed her original Catwoman belt to look that way, and the film crew liked the look so much, they did the same for the Batgirl costume.
Another reason and this from Yvonne Craig herself. "In one early episode I was in, I carried a weapon of some kind and there was no way to attach it to the side of my belt. My belt was too tight. It was also uncomfortable when we had fight scenes. I had the idea to put it behind my back on the belt behind my cape. With it still too high, I unbuckeled it too hang low so I could reach it. When I saw the episode, I waited to see how it looked. I couldn't stop laughing. It looked like I pulled it out of my behind." This was a video, many of which she'd done, a couple of years before she passed. But it also captured the look of the Catwoman costume.
Hi, yes, but it was based on her costume from the Pilot and/or an alternative tint, she also had a different shaped mask which was more gothic and pointed around her eyes, you can clearly see it in the Pilot. For whatever reason they changed it to a more curved look.
"She looks very pretty when she's asleep." "I thought you might eventually notice that. That single statement indicates to me the first oncoming thrust of manhood, old chum." ... Interesting choice of words.
That line was take 16 or so. Adam West intentionally blew the correct line 15-20 times to frustrate the director to the point, that no matter what he said, they would have to take that line, just to get to the next scene. ha ha ha Look for the live commentary about it with Adam West and Burt Ward on RUclips!! Hilarious with them telling that scene story.
The producers of the show ironically had to keep Robin’s manhood under control. They practically forced him to temporarily shrink his penis size by taking pills. They didn’t want his tight costume to show his full bat-sausage.
Adam West said he hated filming this 3rd season. The budget had been "cut to the bone" and the writing was lousy and the plots silly. ABC/Greenwood presented the ideal to Mr. West of going on with the 4th season but only if Robin, Chief O'Hara and Mrs. Cooper were cut from the show. He refused and the show was canceled
My favorite episode of season 3 is the one with King Tut when both Bruce Wayne and Batman (inside of the Batmobile) appear next to each other to prove to King Tut that they were not the same person!
6:02 Did anyone catch that? Alvino Rey was a jazz musician and band leader in the 1940s. He married one of the famous King Sisters and was father to Liza Rey, famous harpist and mother of the Canadian Indie rock group Arcade Fire. Cousin Cam Clarke is a successful voice over artist most famous for voicing the characters of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles". His uncle Buddy Cole played the organ wedding march for the 1965 film "The Sound of Music". Very talented family indeed!
No joke, it was originally scripted as ronald rays and be shot through a Ronald Ray-gun... the producers thought it was too on-the-nose and the writer substituted an Alvino Rey reference instead :)
The terrific trio were lucky that Dr. Cassandra, her henchman and those 6 super-criminals that they helped escape from prison didn't think of trying to unmask the heroes during the fight at Dr. cassandra's hideout. It was funny that the criminals punched each other in the dark to become visible after knocking each other out.
FUN FACT: The special acoustic-tile floors of soundstages are rented to production companies by the square foot. Literally every one of the interlocking pieces they deploy (typically 3' x 3') has a price, providing an incentive to keep the sets compact.
Wow- really chopped these scenes up and left out some good parts. Chief O'Hara being the one to figure out the solution to the cliffhanger - that was the only time THAT happened!
I used to watch it when I was five, six, I already found it to be too much by then but absolutely loved it, now I’m in my mid sixties see it the same way and absolutely luv it even more!
I very much appreciate the wholesome quality of this show, so don't hate me for saying this....but I did notice that at exactly 4:50, Robin did cop a feel of Batgirl. Either his Lap, or Bat-Pole! It would take great effort not to peek under her mask. But it would take God like power not to peek under her uniform. LOL! (Poor Robin)
The invisible enemy fight when the show didn't have the budget to hire any other actors. It's fun watching them, like doing some inprov scene at acting school. And just looked up Batgirl. Yvonne Craig was 30 when she did this.
I always preferred these silly bat traps that defied all reasoning and science! Wish they remained as cardboard tho. The villains can howl with delight as they hang the well-flattened heroes next to the Green Hornet and Kato stamps.
This episode for me is the absolute best one because this is the first real time that you see Batman & Robin is real trouble is a fight but even more so, you see Batgirl (The female super heroine who never really loses in fights) getting (or acting) beaten up badly.
Right then and there they just should’ve all told each other who they were! They were on the same page, and by then they realized that Batgirl was on their side!!
Thank god Alfred had the three dimensional bat restorer.
Always good to have one. Never know when you need it.
Thank Fod he had it clearly labeled. What would happen if he couldn't find it?
That was definitely key.
@@thiagodeandrade7081 Or how to operate it.
@@kevinmiller6324 Yep.
Knowing Batman villains, it would have come in handy... one day. Like the Bat Shark Repellent and the Bat Female Villain Repellent.
"I feel like I'm getting flat."
No, you are most certainly not flat, Batgirl.
It took an extra minute for her.
The innuendo was a constant. Enough so that video posters here are having to edit, which says a lot because such things in the 60's was quite tame by our standards, today.
Flatgirl?

I wonder how Batman knew how cute she looks when asleep? Makes you wonder kind of bat-hanky-panky had gone on.
Notice that Batgirl has her belt around her hips and not her waist. Julie Newmar changed her original Catwoman belt to look that way, and the film crew liked the look so much, they did the same for the Batgirl costume.

I like how Batgirls costume went from purple to blue after they were turned into cardboard cutouts. Holy inconsistency.
Her oxygen level was reduced, hence the blue color.

Holy white balance!
@@MrSlitskirts Batgirl's mask was changed to the curved look because the original pointed version left marks on Yvonne Craig's face.
R.I.P. Adam West, Yvonne Craig and Eartha Kitt.
Same for Frank Gorshin, Cesar Romero, Burgess Meredith, Vincent Price, and Victor Buono.
@@andrewfrantz5502 True. But they were not in this segment. Thus not the right place to express condolences to them.
Batgirl definitely looks better in 3D
Man that Batcave had everything.
Her abs were otherworldly
Her curves from her waist to her hips are heavenly!!! She had the healthiest set of hips!!!
That Batgirl costume would be perfect for the Minnesota Vikings Cheerleaders in the winter.
Batman did everything to make it ridiculous, and there was nothing like it which made it brilliant.
I used to dash home after school to watch.
Me too!

Been funny if Batgirl turned around and gave him a kiss lol
Will D., extactly!
Kinda gross when you remember Dick Grayson has been raped by two different women (and a half-demon in his dreams) in the comics.
"The first thrust of manhood!" Good one, Batman!😁😁👍👍
After 14 takes, that's what he said! ha ha

Think that's the one were batman says halt u deluded creature lol
Always wondered when the Dynamic Duo was going to make use of the Three-Dimensional Bat-Restorer
I love bat girl.💝
Get in line.
Love her sexy outfit
Jason Bard, second Blue Beetle, Nightwing, Black Canary...
BatGirl sitting on Robin's lap and Robin says "She's pretty when she's asleep."

Bat Girl. 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Robin and Batgirl are my favourites
Alfred the true genius. In a few minutes he invented the bat 3D restorer
The Entrancing *Almost-Entirely-Edited-Out-of-this-Video* Dr. Cassandra!
Played by Ida Lupino. An Actress with some Impressive Credits on her Resume. And she was also a Director.
"Thrust of manhood."
'Holy Catastrophe' 😇😇 Love it.
BatGirl I love you
She has a really good-looking outfit. It's funny how Batman used the sleep-inducing thing on Vicky Vale in the Batman movie!
Sir Alan Napier, As Alfred,of Team Batman
While I like this show I sometimes wished they would have let Barbara in on their secret
Wow- really chopped these scenes up and left out some good parts. Chief O'Hara being the one to figure out the solution to the cliffhanger - that was the only time THAT happened!
Batman had a large package! 0:29

Something I just realized. Batman must have known Albus Dumbledore and use his deluminator during the fight
Born in 62, too young to read when these were on TV. Asked Mom to read to me the Pows, Bams, and Whams.

No batgirl you defiintely are NOT getting flat.
But i love the jiggling.
Can’t believe Batman sprayed Batgirl with the Bill Cosby spray.
I like to check batgirls bat cave...with my bat locator.
Loved this as a youngster and still great fun - Yvonne Craig too ! 😍😍
When they were placed in the dimensional restorer, they were already 3 dimensional.
Ahh, batgirl. My first tv crush😍😍😍😍
This episode is, and dare say it? Out of sight.
HA HA HA HA! XD
Yes, in spite the 3rd season's embarrassingly low budget, this episode easily among the best of that season.
Did batgirl sit on robins lap when she got in the car...
Not enough seat belts...."Okay Batman put me to sleep...but tell Robin to watch his hands"
Either his Lap, or Bat-Pole! It would take great effort not to peek under her mask. But it would take God like power not to peek under her uniform. LOL! (Poor Robin)

Bat Lap Dance.
There may be no pre-Dixon canon support, but I wouldn't say "poor Robin"'
A TDBR is a crucial device 🙏🏽
