Fun fact : Dishonored 1s timeline was chosen by the Legend of the Spring Heeled Jack, Corvo gaining his mark around the same years as Jack was doing his thing, Jack was jumping from rooftop to rooftop and magically appeared places, thats where the developers of Dishonored took inspiration from.

Reading the title before clicking, I came into this video with a completely different expectation. I thought Spring Heeled Jack was some legendary hunter that slayed demons in real life.

Thinking about it, that seems plausible. The letters he wrote to law enforcement suggest he wasn't mentally sound; I wouldn't be surprised if he saw himself as the next Spring-Heeled Jack.

Now I know where Bethesda got the "boots of spring heeled jack" from the Elder Scrolls Oblivion. The boots have an acrobatics enchant that allow you to jump higher and are recovered from a vampire with fiery eyes and pail skin.

BTW, you can keep The Boots of Springheel Jack if when jumping down the Chimney, you get your health all the way up, jump into the chimney remove the boots and there you go, you keep The Boots of Springheel Jack. Now you can go on a crime spree with the Grey Fox's Cowl amd jump around like a maniac.

This guy was creepy. I'm surprised I never heard of Spring heel jack before, but I think I know how the deranged freak breath fire. Like the circus act, he had kerosene in his mouth, and some type of flame in front his mouth on a mask. Then he blew the flamable liquid through the fire to make the fire breathing effect. When he asked the first girl for the candle he may have used the candle light to blow out the flamable liquid from his mouth on thr poor girl.
His weird clothing was probably his way of wearing fireproof clothing and the claws blades in gloves just for the terrifying look to scare his victims.
As for the ability to leap several feet in the air? Maybe he made some homemade apparatus to put springs in his booths.
My theory is that he was a deranged circus performer gone wild!

Lol I didn’t know this but Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion made a reference to this. One of the objects you needed for the last thieves guild quest was called “boots of Spring Heeled Jack” pretty cool these boots saved you from a long fall and helped you jump to an unreachable place. Now I see why they named it that.
