Just found your channel I really like it, I been doing car audio for 30 years it’s nice to learn new stuff . Thank you
Thanks for watching!
Have you spoken to Matt Schaeffer about Tesla's yet? He has done hundreds of them and several of them he does Class A/B Mosconi amps where some of them have 4 or 5 amplifiers, he states you absolutely HAVE to add a battery but he has done several tests and none of them have lost range due to the audio system. After talking to some engineers they explained that the amount of current required to just move a vehicle down the road is far more than any amplifiers could ever draw. Just thought id share that
Hi there Melissa! Thanks for your comment and the info about Musaic Designs. It's always great to hear about other shops doing cool Tesla audio work.
You're absolutely right: for systems drawing low current like ours, an additional battery isn't needed. We specifically designed our system with that in mind.
It's awesome that other companies like Mosconi and Alpine are also offering similar 16v Tesla systems without requiring extra batteries. More options are always good for the Tesla audio community!
However, for extremely high-powered systems like those at Musaic Designs, additional batteries can be crucial for maintaining voltage stability. It all depends on the specific needs and power demands of the setup.
Ultimately, the choice of adding a battery comes down to individual preferences and system requirements. While it might be "overkill" for our system, it's definitely an option for those pushing the boundaries of Tesla audio.
Thanks again for your comment and for sharing your knowledge! We appreciate the support.
@8:51 if the amp has a fuse size of 25A, it can't do 500W RMS. The math doesn't work. 25A * 14.4v gives 360W, or if we're generous, 25A * 16v = 400W. The specs on the amp are wrong if it says it can put out 500W while only taking in less than 400W.
Am I missing something? (It's the Diamond MICRO2V2 isn't it?)
Nice video though! Looks like a nice package.
Great value system by the way....great job guys!
Thanks so much! I've seen your recent comments on our videos. Your car audio knowledge is way above average.
Do you work at a shop or for a manufacturer?
@@BreakersStereo shop 😊. Ive been installing for going on 25 years and i try to follow everyone on RUclips
Where do you wire it up to? front battery or under the seat? any resistor or relays?
We wired to the front battery, no resistors or relays. I’ve had this in my car for over a month with no issues.
@@BreakersStereo have you gone into service mode and checked errors? Might be underlaying ones
I’ll checked and looked under notifications. Nothing there that indicates any power issue just “door open” “auto park to prevent roll way” but no error codes.
@@BreakersStereo did you go into THE service mode and look at error CODES? Some common ones are the radio restart
This definitely sounds like my next upgrade.
I did the HEPA King Alpine speakers upgrade and swapped out all 11 speakers and the 8in sub and it does sound much better but its still lacking that deep rich base that i was hoping for.
I am looking forward to your install video on the Model 3 LR and Preformance.
Thanks for the comment! The install videos are being worked on right now for the model y and model s and we are hoping for the model 3 install on the next couple weeks.
@BreakersStereo awesome
Seems pretty straight forward.
For the premium audio Long Range and Preformance Model 3s, do you just get signal from the rear amplifier or are you getting signal from up under the passenger glove compartment? Also the power source are you tapping in directly from the 12v battery or right there under the right side rear seat?
Not bad for an extra grand. If you own a Tesla, that should be no problem.
How much do you charge to install it? Model 3 SR
It’s about $450 for install
The factory sub seems to be after fast attack with the first song.
The bigger sub is filling up the space the little woofer struggles with.
Yes it definitely enhances the deeper notes the 8 lacks
I wish you were near the bay area so that I can get my system done by your shop.
We’re not too far ! Lol. Come by and make a weekend of it
I have the alpine swr-12dr with the alpine 500w mono block, is there a better alpine mono block to move up to. Im only alpine and it has been a few years since I put them in my car
That woofer can handle 1000 watts so you want alpine you could do their S2-A120M. That’s 1200 at 1 or 2 ohm so that’s plenty of power.
@@BreakersStereo will the 16v battery take a 1200 watt amp at 1 ohm? or would a second battery be needed?
This is the perfect channel for my question, what stereo can I install in my 2017 Prius Priume. My 6in screen recently stopped working but my backup camera still works. What are my options ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You could do any aftermarket radio. We sell the parts to fit that car. If you go to our website and pick a stereo you like and enter in your vehicle info it will give part options for your specific car.
What's the point after u cover the sub up..come on now ...u know what I'm talking about about.. disappointed ..
Cover the sub up ? What do you mean please explain. Thanks. If you mean over with the panel there is little to no difference with the panel over the top. That panel is very light and the sound travels through the cover. This car is my daily and I always have the cover over the top because I use my trunk area always.
Will work in 2022 Tesla model base? 16 battery has a bad experience with NvX car died an had it towed to Tesla
This will work with the bass model too. The inputs have to be tapped into the 7" speakers in the door because the base model doesnt have the factory sub. NOW as far as this working with a 16v tesla, this amp works up to 16 volts and you will not have any issues as long as you wire to the battery under the hood and not under the seat. What I understand that terminal under the seat is more monitored so if it sees an abnormal voltage draw it freaks the car out. We just did a model 3 base and wiring to the upfront battery and it has no issues. PLUS this system has more bass then the NVX !
Appreciate the rely back gives me much confidence that you tested an you made a install on base model 3 now I can show my Installers no problem 👍
