My favorite part of this song is that the “flute solo” is actually a “recorder” solo. As in the obnoxious instruments everybody learned how to play in elementary school and never played again lol. And not only that but it’s played by the Captain himself. If you can find the music video they show him playing it in that. These live shows aren’t always really performed “live” and I guess they just didn’t have a recorder? Or maybe it was in the shop? 😅 As far as I know it’s the best selling song to ever chart on the Billboard 100 with a Recorder solo in it 😆.

The solo that's played at around 4.00 in this is on an instrument called a lyricon, & is played by Tom Scott, from the L.A. Express & occasionally the Blues Brothers Band.

Nah, they did not need to over-dub performances, use auto-tune and vocalizer, BS, etc... They had massive talent. So perfect live, it does sound like a studio song! But it is 100% real.

Jamel… love you, man! Have you done a reaction to Sade yet? I’d love to see you react to that beautiful performer and her beautiful songs. She had multiple top 10 hits on Billboard for decades from the 70’s to today. I recommend your first listen to be her first hit single in the U.S.: “Diamond Life”

She is now 81 yrs old. Compared to today's songs, that one right there! My imagination is going wild! The man on the organ, Darryl, her husband has since passed away. This came out in the 1979. In that year, flower-power and bell-bottom pants were a thing of the past. (I believe)
Yea, my momma said the same thing! And if we did it again .... well ... we know what happened.
Listen, jamel-aka-jamal, it is June 6, 2021 - 4:23 AM! The expression on your face. I'm cracking up!
I know all about those whoopings.
Ya gotta react to 'Closer Than Close' (The Bees Gees) That's another sensual song..
