When I was about 10 years old, the local Cabaret opened their doors to parents with under aged kids...we would attend the afternoon sessions and there was this elderly man, perhaps in his early 80's and he would get on the dance floor and ROCK the place, he could move like I've never seen before..he shamed the younger crowd easily. Wow! Kind of reminds me, of an older you. ;)

This song was massive in the UK in the 70's. Just another example of how black artists influenced my early years, (Motown, Jonny Mathis, Nat KIng Cole , The Jacksons especially) through my teenage years (the Philadelphia Sound, Disco Etc)

I was 10 years old when this song came out in 1974 , i was instantly in love with the song , was a big hit here in Europe , here in the Netherlands also. George lives now for years already here in the netherlands( part of the year ) , about 10 kilometers from here , and part of the year he lives on Aruba in the Dutch Antilles . He married a Dutch woman long time ago.

I grew up in this era. I remember this song, and the one that is considered by many music historians as 'the first disco hit', 'Rock The Boat' by The Hues Corporation.

...in 2013, lol. I had a summer job cutting grass and every time we sat in the car the "oldies" station (music from the 60s to late 80s then) was playing, and one of the songs in constant rotation was this, and it just makes me happy.
1974 I was 11, I was in 6th grade, Puppy love was happening. Roller rink is where we hung out Friday nights. The lights were down low music was playing asking girls if they want to skate together. Ah dude you made my day. Thanks for the memory!!!!
