Yes Jamel, that was indeed a room full of country legends. The ones I recognize just off hand are: Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings (In the light blue shirt and black hat at the beginning), Guitar legend, Chet Atkins (He's the one talking at the very beginning), Roy Clark (Next to Chet), Janie Fricke (sitting between Roy and Willie), Gene Watson (sitting behind Glen in the purple shirt), Crystal Gayle (she's the beautiful dark haired woman sitting next to Glen), and B.J. Thomas (who I commented in your previous video had just passed away last month) sitting on the other side of Chet near Crystal. And the man hosting the show is Ralph Emery. (He was a popular Nashville country music host for many years). He's the one that said, "That's feels good" at the end.
There's another of these videos from the same show, where Glen sings the Roy Orbison classic, "Crying" In fact, he sings it immediately after this one you just heard.. Now THAT'S one you really need to react to!!!

During a low point in his career, Glen Campbell made an appearance in a department store in San Antonio. Me and my sisters arrived early and were standing in front of the small stage where he came just to sign autographs. At one point, some larger girls arrived and pushed us away from the front. Mr. Campbell apparently saw that and came out and brought us forward and spoke with us and signed the things we brought. I always remember that kindness when I see him. RIP

Glen Campbell came from a little town in Arkansas, and went to Los Angeles as a session guitarist. He played on half the records of the ‘60s: Frank Sinatra, Beach Boys, Merle Haggard, Lou Rawls, Elvis Presley, ... Then they realized he could sing too, and he toured as a Beach Boy and then became a recording artist. John Wayne liked him, and even though he had never acted, asked him to co-star with him in ‘True Grit’. He was nominated for a Golden Globe for his acting and an Academy Award for singing the theme song. Then, of course, he got his own TV show... The solo he plays here is incredibly difficult. He’s playing an unamplified acoustic guitar, there is very little sustain (the tones fade out quickly), so nearly every tone has to be individually picked, synchronized left and right hands, and when you see how fast he plays... that’s why all these great players are grinning and clapping like kids. Willie Nelson and even Roy Clark just look amazed.

"Gentle On My Mind" written by: John Hartford
    LYRICS:
It's knowing that your door is always open
And your path is free to walk
That makes me tend to leave my sleeping bag
Rolled up and stashed behind your couch
And it's knowing I'm not shackled
    By forgotten words and bonds
And the ink stains that are dried upon some line
That keeps you in the backroads
By the rivers of my memory
That keeps you ever gentle on my mind
It's not clinging to the rocks and ivy
Planted on their columns now that bind me
    Or something that somebody said
Because they thought we fit together walking
It's just knowing that the world will not be cursing
Or forgiving when I walk along some railroad track and find
That you're moving on the backroads
By the rivers of my memory
And for hours you're just gentle on my mind
Though the wheat fields and the clothes lines
And the junkyards and the highways come between us
And some other woman's cryin' to her mother
'Cause she turned and I was gone
I still might run in silence tears of joy might stain my face
And the summer sun might burn me 'til I'm blind
But not to where I cannot see
    You walkin' on the backroads
By the rivers flowing gentle on my mind
I dip my cup of soup back from a gurglin'
Cracklin' caldron in some train yard
My beard a roughening coal pile,
And a dirty hat pulled low across my face
Through cupped hands 'round the tin can
I pretend to hold you to my breast and find
That you're waiting from the backroads
By the rivers of my memories
Ever smilin' ever gentle on my mind

"Grand Ole Opry." It's the most Historic place in "Country Western" music. If you look closely, you'll see a "whos who" of the country music world. this was a while back, and most of them are gone now. Many legends in that group. Just having a little jam session with friends. Nothing formal.
This sort of thing is common in country music. This is what they do in real life after a big Sunday dinner. Go out to the porch, and bring your guitar, fiddle, Harmonica, and your singing voice, and we'll play a few tunes, to help our food digest. This is what average folk do in the south, not just the stars. Your raised this way. Sing some Gospel songs to Jesus and relax. I think it's wonderful and wholesome. We need more time together like that.

This song was written by John Hartford, a favorite artist of mine, in just under 30 minutes after watching the film Doctor Zhivago. When they did a 6 hour retrospective on Hartford after he passed 2001, they titled it Stashed Behind Your Couch a lyric taken from his song. It was covered not only by Glen but a bunch of other artists, including Elvis I'm told, which gave him such a comfortable living that he never had really work again.
