That clip was from "Country Family Reunion" an incredible show where country superstars past +present, get togeather and just jam. Everyone there is either a singer, song writer, musician, or engineer, etc. Most are known by country fans- whether they were the "face" of the song or not. Fabulous show, check it out! Sadly Glen is no longer with us- he was one of the greatest guitar players of any ANY genre. Besides being a country superstar on his own, he also was a member of the touring Beach Boys in the 60's. And lets not forget "The Wreaking Crew"- musicians who played on pretty much every record that came out of L,A. in the 60's + 70's. Sadly missed!
Miss this man. I met him. At a Walmart. He was thrilled I recognized him. He was much older. Nice man. INSANE GUITARIST. Too bad he didn't do rock and ROLL. DAMMMM, LOOK AT ALL THE TALENT AROUND HIM. WOW. BIG NAMES IN COUNTRY RIGHT THERE
michelle ortega I’m not gonna miss you, is such an emotional song, I cry every time I hear that song knowing that we know about Glen. I love his voice so much. My parents were huge fans of his& John Denver. Both are my parents have passed away so these songs remind me of my childhood and bring a smile to my face.
Glenn Campbell was one of the greatest guitar players of all time. He was on many many hit records for other people in the 60s and 70s. As well as many hits of his own. He had a hit tv show the glenn campbell good time hour and even did a movie co staring with john wayne, True Grit
I had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing (for radio) the man introducing Glen (in this video), Bobby Bare, as well as the person you could see behind Glen's shoulder, Gene Watson. Solid talents in their own right (as are all the other "people/stars" in the group surrounding Glen). Glen was an assume talent who became noticed as a session musician (as previously mentioned) for A LOT of notable performers, before making it BIG as a solo act. May he RIP.
Glen Campbell was a member of thee "Wrecking Crew". A group of the most sought after studio musicians that recorded with a who's who of music legends. One of the greatest singer/musicians of all time.
Yeah. That was the good time jamboree on TNN network back in the 90s..that was the right video. Thanks for playing this video. Glen Campbell one of the best.
I was very, very young the first time I heard Glen Campbell. I remember he had a TV show. His songs were very good and I've always like him. He was a great guitar player. This video had a lot of famous old time country personalities, such as Roy Clark and Willie Nelson.
Glen Campbell was a great guitarist as well he was a member of the crew for awhile the greatest assembly of sessions musicians try his song Wichita lineman
As a kid, parents used to take us on day trips into the Virginia mountains to pick apples, I remember hearing this song on the radio and my dad softly singing along.. GOOD TIMES!
Glen Campbell was not only considered a great composer, but he was considered one of the best guitarist in the business. Remember, in the 60's he a highly sought after session musician working with the likes of The Beach Boys, Claude King, Bobby Darin, Ricky Nelson, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, the Monkees, Nancy Sinatra, Merle Haggard, Jan and Dean, Frank Sinatra, Ronnie Dove, Phil Spector and Elvis Presley. This was even before his solo career. If you want a great example of this, check out his rendition of "Classical Gas" in concert. Awesome finger work.
Family time was playing cards, fishing, swimming, watching TV together with our folks while everyone one laughed 5 sang along. There's a slower version of this song as well. Glen Campbell & the Andy Williams show, Hee Haw & the Lawrence Welk show, Wagon train & the Rifleman... Brings me back to the good ole' days when life felt safe.
This was from a series of specials called "Country Music Family Reunion". Just a whole bunch of country music legends sitting around picking and singing.
My old dad raised me on Glen Campbell and NAt King Cole and Louis Armstrong and all the good stuff. Glenn was an amazing guitar player. R.I.P Glen. R.I.P. Dad.
That was TNN (The Nashville Network), with Ralph Emory hosting. TNN was similar to CMT. That was a lot of talent on one stage. I saw Chet Atkins on stage; he was my dad’s guitar hero. Good reaction.
The number of amazing performers in that group... I saw Willie, Crystal Gayle, and a bunch of other is that I recognize but can't think of the name at the moment. And on top of that Glenn was probably one of the greatest guitar players ever..
Glen Campbell's version is great from a guitar playing perspective. He finger picks like no other. But from a soul standpoint? He sucks bad. His voice is thin. He's just goin thru the motions on his singing. It's very thin. Elvis Presley's interpretation is a GRAND SLAM! Elvis's depth soul and diversity knocks it out of the park. The grit and weary soul of the king, puts the listener on those train tracks in a cold hard driving rain. I study music. And elvis's artistry was second to none. He wrapped his soul around a lyric like no other. That's legendary. That's iconic. That's the king.
Glen Campbell started out as studio musician. He played on everything from Frank Sinatra, Elvis to the Beach Boys and Jan and Dean. One of the best all around guitar players ever. When Brian Wilson of the the Beach Boys had to take some time off, he filled on for him and toured with the Beach Boys. Great Talent!

Omg! Such a nice man! Got to meet him once. My sister was friends with his cousin Liz. One Sunday morning, Liz and her husband showed up on this huge beautiful motorcycle. Her husband and I rode on it to get donuts. I was in high school, and first time on a motorcycle! Liz wrote a note to Glen after she learned we were going to see him in concert. She told us to give it to him. Sure, we'll just walk up and hand it to him. Lol! But funny thing was, that's exactly what we were able to do! Just before he went on stage, he was standing in the opening to the stadium. There wasn't a soul near him. He was so happy to get the note. He smiled from ear to ear, and kept thanking us for bringing it to him. That was a great concert! And one I will never forget!!
I also had asked for a reaction video to this. Thank you for doing it. Glen Campbell was one of the greats. This was always a good one, in front of all of his fellow great peers, including some great pickers like Roy Clark, Glenn stole the show with this song!
Glen Campbell was a guitar GENIUS!!!! You should listen to him do Crying in this same special gathering and then The William Tell Overture...OMG!!!! Everyone at this gather had so much talent, but they all knew that Glen Campbell was the best guitar player that has ever lived. He has played for some of the best in the business. If you have Netflix, you need to watch The Wrecking Crew. It will show you his and so many others that played on 1,000 of albums back in the 50's and 60's. It's a wonderful Documentary. There is another one all about Glen Campbell when he was dealing with Alzheimer's that is also on Netflix ....that is when I'm Not Going To Miss You was written for him and he recorded it. His daughter Ashley wrote a song after his passing that you'll need a box of Kleenex when you listen to it and that is called Remembering.
this is the 2nd breakdown i hear you do! its pure love of music. Glenn has an interview with johnny carson, where talks about his abilities with a guitar and how versatile he is.
Though Country music is not exactly mykind, my type of music except for Dolly Parton and Johnny Cash Helen Campbell and Roy Clark are exceptional. Thank you Amigo. God bless you.
Glen Campbell mentions the original producer of the song Felton Jarvis who would go on to produce Elvis Presley. Elvis' version is the first time I've ever heard the song. Coincidentally, before Glen was famous he sang demo tracks for Elvis in the 60s and would later become one of his greatest friends.
I watched this around 6 months ago for the first time. Excellent Footage. If you want to see a remarkable and gut-wrenching performance check out the details about the last song he wrote and sang; he dedicated it to his wife before passing away. It's a tearjerker.
My uncle Willard played with Glen for years, and I had the chance to sit and watch him play live quite a few times. You'll not find many people who could flat pick a guitar like that while also having that level of songwriting talent, much less one who was just a genuinely nice, grounded person.
And I'd guess this probably is the one he meant, as that solo is usually another verse of lyrics. He just decided to talk with his fingers instead this time.
Oh Glen! One of the Greats. Ive been a fan since I was seven years old and first heard "Witchita Lineman" while seated on the backseat of a camper van on the motorway in the early 70's. I thought he was singing "The Witch and the Lion" its still my favourite song of his. I dont think I will ever see Witchita as Im in the UK and I can't fly anymore. Thanks for your entertaining and insightful comments. I do enjoy your reactions.
Enjoyed the video and seeing all these other country singers. Some still with us and sadly some are gone including the Great Glenn Campbell. He has long list of great songs.
Willie Nelson, Chet Atkins, Roy Clark, Crystal Gayle, Janie Frickie, BJ Thomas, Lee Greenwood, and more, and more..... Ralph Emery was the moderator in this Family Reunion of Country stars.
All those stars in one place, what a event! Willie Nelson, Crystal Gayle, Mickey Gilley, Ray Stevens, Roy Clarke, Ralph Emery, Chet Atkins, and many others... that's some of THE greats.
Glen is such a great guitar player! He wouldn’t acknowledge being the best but he would say he was the most versatile player cause he played it all on others records as mentioned in comments below. I get amazed when I see him take a chord position and slides his hand up and down the neck. It looks easy but it takes great skill on top of much much practice. Miss him so much!
The number of absolute legends in that room is mind numbing. The least of which is Chet Atkins and Roy Clark. I hope you know you are watching history. Always knew who Glen was, but didn't find out all of his talents until Alzheimers took him from us. An absolute tragedy as he still had his voice and music almost to the end. Rest in Paradise, Glen
Yes!! Glenn Campbell ....Just pure awesomeness :):) Your right as usual lol....it's amazing to watch these....I listen and critique as it goes and you seem to be right on point and have very close to the same reactions I do. When your listening and smiling and moving your head lol...I'm doing the same thing {Add toe tapping for me} lol lol..It's just unreal lol. And yes I wish it would have played longer as well....maybe even go into another one of his very well known songs. I remember this song all the way back to when I was just a little girl! Still packs a punch.
There is another one where he is on Electric Guitar and he just goes wild.. One of the very best as a guitarist.. Before Glen became famous he was a top studio musician in the 60's, and also played lead on some Motown Records back in the day..He was a huge Elvis fan too.. They became friends.. While the Beatles ruled and they were still clearing up the fields at Woodstock from the festival the year before. Eclectic times! Love your Reaction reactions!
Such a great group of LEGENDS!! I was raised on a lot of their music (and Hee Haw). Sweet childhood memories!
On that stage was some legends of Country music, all gone way too soon! Glenn Campbell documentary on Netflix was just amazing! What a talent!!
Loved your smile watching the master at work... Glen Campbell was an amazing musician!!
WOW. BIG NAMES IN COUNTRY RIGHT THERE
You should listen to glen campbell I'm not gonna miss you.His last song he ever recorded. Such a good song
That one makes me cry...
michelle ortega I’m not gonna miss you, is such an emotional song, I cry every time I hear that song knowing that we know about Glen. I love his voice so much. My parents were huge fans of his& John Denver. Both are my parents have passed away so these songs remind me of my childhood and bring a smile to my face.
Glen Campbell died Aug 11, 2017
🙏 RIP 🙏
May he RIP.
Glen Campbell with the country music greats surrounding him as he sings. You can't get a better appreciation of your craft than that.
I really appreciate the way you do your reactions to videos. I like the way you watch the entire video before you comment. Keep up the good work!
Those are all legends of country and the amazed look on their face says it all
Glen Campbell was a member of thee "Wrecking Crew". A group of the most sought after studio musicians that recorded with a who's who of music legends. One of the greatest singer/musicians of all time.
This is a kind of music we had around my house when I was a kid. Peace!
When Frank Sinatra have a guitar player on his classic "Stranger In The Night" album.....yup, that was Glen Campbell.
Thanks for sharing this I’m from the 🇬🇧 and was bought up listening to glen bless him thanks so much for sharing this x
All of that talent in one place simply amazing!!
You've to three absolute legends watching another legend in pure admiration
I was waiting for you to react to a Glen Campbell video. Glad to see someone caught your attention with their request. Thanks, Falco twins!
GOOD TIMES!
He was surrounded by Country music greats! Legends... Willie Nelson, Crystal Gayle, etc...
Check out Glen Campbell and Roy Clark "ghost riders in the sky"
Glen was a great guitarist along with being a very capable vocalist.
He had a lovely voice.
It was definitely the right one , Glen Campbell always left the world wanting more. Thank you..
This was from a series of specials called "Country Music Family Reunion". Just a whole bunch of country music legends sitting around picking and singing.
One of the most underrated guitarists ever.
Tremendous talent sitting on that stage1
My old dad raised me on Glen Campbell and NAt King Cole and Louis Armstrong and all the good stuff. Glenn was an amazing guitar player. R.I.P Glen. R.I.P. Dad.
Glen Campbell always the professional gentleman performer. Thanks for the video.
All of the great musicians surrounding him listening in awe.
That was it. Glen Campbell was an awesome guitarist. One of the best ever.
Great Talent!
...man it's great that you're that musically diverse and open minded.....as guitar I play everything from country , my jazz , R&B ...Al Green ..etc etc ....thx man ... definitely sunscribing yo your channel ....thx and cheers "
Love ya man. Keep up the good work brother.
this is the 2nd breakdown i hear you do! its pure love of music. Glenn has an interview with johnny carson, where talks about his abilities with a guitar and how versatile he is.
He was a good dude. When I was a little kid my mom played his music. Thanks for the video.
The lyrics, "back roads by the river of my memory" OMG that is really interesting!
This is a master with his guitar.
That was the right one! every note picked clean and true . Flawless and he makes it look easy ! Now check out him doing the William Tell Overture !
This was one of my parents favorite songs just an incredible song!!! RIP MOM & DAD
Always enjoyed his music. Very talented
I watched this around 6 months ago for the first time. Excellent Footage. If you want to see a remarkable and gut-wrenching performance check out the details about the last song he wrote and sang; he dedicated it to his wife before passing away. It's a tearjerker.
Agreed: ruclips.net/video/U8TsAh-zYFI/видео.html
My uncle Willard played with Glen for years, and I had the chance to sit and watch him play live quite a few times. You'll not find many people who could flat pick a guitar like that while also having that level of songwriting talent, much less one who was just a genuinely nice, grounded person.
And I'd guess this probably is the one he meant, as that solo is usually another verse of lyrics. He just decided to talk with his fingers instead this time.
Glen always left us all wanting more. Such a fine and exceptional talent. The world misses Glen so much.
Smiles and approval by legends Willie Nelson, Roy Clark and Chet Atkins.
Some of the greatest singers and musicians in the history of country music or any other genre on that one stage,
First off, Great video Modern Renaissance Man! Of course, I know who Glen Campbell is, he is one of my favorite country musicians.
Love your Glen Campbell reaction! He was an incredible singer and guitarist! Please do more songs by Glen Campbell!
My favourite ever artist - RIP Glen
Roy Clark at 2:17...this and Wichita Lineman...wonderful.
All those stars in one place, what a event! Willie Nelson, Crystal Gayle, Mickey Gilley, Ray Stevens, Roy Clarke, Ralph Emery, Chet Atkins, and many others... that's some of THE greats.
This song is a tear jerker of the highest order, IMO. 'Cupped hands around a tin can'.
Prescription grade skills. Glen was the genuine article.
All the legends there admire Glen, class.. Thank you
He was surrounded by Country & Western music legends.
This song makes my wanna cry every time.
What a group of greats! WOW!
I think you can google a live version of him playing the song 'Galveston in the 1990's where he does a masterful lead on Guitar..
Glenn Campbell was a great guitarist and singer he was a member of " The Wrecking Crew" the studio musicians who did almost all the recordings for the groups in the 70s black and white
makes me teary eyed, man, his music, and dan seals music, and michael martin murphy and john denver, they had some really nice beautiful and comforting type of songs, don williams is another too, just beautiful stuff
