Our daughter was 5 weeks old the first time we took her on our offshore boat. We waited until she was 10 months old to take her on our performance boat for obvious reasons. She’ll be 11 years old next month and is very proficient at driving both of those boat now. She has logged 1000’s of miles on the water and experienced more than most people ever will in a lifetime. I have loved every minute of it as a father and wouldn’t trade any of it for anything. I’m sure you know it won’t be easy but the difficult times will fly by very fast. Very happy for you guys, enjoy every second of it

Our daughter’s first boat ride was at 6 weeks. You start off slow on the early morning or early evening out of the heat of the day and take it as it goes. The key was getting her used to the pfd which we started at home on land in the AC at 3 weeks old. She knows how fortunate she is to have grown up on the water. 16 years later she’s just as comfortable out there when it’s rough as on land. The best memories are made together on the water.

Aww, you are blessed. I'm 66, a widow of 3 years. I have 3 adult children. I don't think my oldest 2 boys will have kids. My daughter is 25, right now she doesn't want kids. Kinda breaks my heart. I feel like I'm really missing out.

As a dad of a 3yr old, enjoy the newborn stage. The toddler stage is interesting.. my daughter enjoys being on the boat, got it when she was a little bit older than you'll introduce your daughter to it, but I've found that keeping it short time wise but doing it often really helped her adjust to being on the boat and ocean.. enjoy it, you'll blink and she'll be turning 1..

regarding the opening statement; i bought my 1st boat 3yrs ago and use it frequently. every single day im able to get on the water by myself or with family is money well spent. its a real shame how many ppl buy boats and just let them rot in their yard
