Its kind of crazy that I feel cats from anywhere but US are still keeping that boom bap and culture alive. I am not knocking newer music, but I do feel the culture is def not what it used to be here. Bboy events, DJing etc. in europe, japan are much more popular than it is here.
well hiphop has evolved from one genre. traphop is def different than boombap for example. boombap culture has stayed the same. you just dont see it as much.
I don't get that impression I think theres just small sects within a nation or certain cities around europe that get known for it, like Brighton in the UK I would say would be this style's of HipHop's home
I mean I think that's something that always happens to the us. Like many folk in the us totally forgot about blues music till the rolling stones went over and made it popular amongst white people. I once did live sound for a blues gig and the blues man from the deep south said had it not been for Europe's interest in blues music a lot of bluesmen would have been forgotten about in the USA. I also think the 90s helped revive an interest in funk music
You are a gem in hip hop homie. You inspired me to grab a 3000, s950 and an sp12. Your beats are jumpin. I could see you and blabbermouf making a hit together. When I shine up my skills on these machines I’ll start posting videos. Thanks for the great content
So dope man!! My favorite was beat 3, fits perfectly with those visuals. Don't ever doubt yourself and your beats, everything is a work of art no matter how good or bad you think it is. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
Thanks man!! It's a problem I will always have when it comes to liking my beats like 70% of the time. But I try to show people more and more of what I make, even when I don't always like it that much. Peace and thx!!
Great set up & beautiful vintage equipment!! All of the beats were fire in their own way!! I loved day one's beat for it's simplicity!! It takes me back to the bare essence of what was used to make boom bap hip hop with minimal equipment!! Everything was nicely thought out. Also I want to commend you on your video skills as well!! It took time to put this collage of clips together!! I went to school for radio & tv in the early 90's & doing video is not a shoot & I'm done process. Things are easier in a sense of having editing software where just about anyone can do it now. Still it takes skills to learn to use a camera & edit video with sound & music! Very thought out video!! DOPE!!
Sinosure Thanks for the compliments man! The editing took a long time indeed, another reason why I just uploaded this video until now. Glad you liked it, peace!
man there are pure gems in here. In 7 days you made a masterpiece, i feel like they would have all fit well in one single beattape. So much solid, so fucking boombap
I love how this channel immediately time travels you back to the early 90s. An era I never got to experience but I now can. Thanks so much for this excellent content you deserve more praise for the niche group of music fans you come to satisfy.
Loved the video great job MAARTN! It's hard to say which is the best cause they're all dope but that day 3 beat man wow..no words, it takes you somewhere. Keep that fire going, peace!
This is amazing man! You have inspired me to start beat making in my dorm room. I just got my setup completed. Everything is from goodwill besides the mpc 2000xl and mixer. You have me hooked man.
All 7 days are dope BUT my favorite is DAY 4 beat... Sick wit it!! Them drums, horns, piano and stand up bass... Sampled smoothly to a perfection!!! Also vibed on the space visuals!!! 🙌🏼🙏🏼🤘🏼
Awesome video. I love watching people make beats and you are very good at it. Day 2 was my favourite. The part where you only have the bass line from that sample - is it the original sample filtered or the bass on it's own in the sample? I tend to feel guilty about using samples which stops me creating anything worthwhile. Keep up the great work!
Watching your videos all the time. Love your RUclips creations. I've got to step my video & beat making game up so I can make more masterpieces like Maartn. 👍
Just came across your channel, this is one of the best videos I’ve seen. I have subscribed. I want to do a similar thing seven beats seven days type thing, and I hear you about the sleep! Peace bro
You inspire me so much dog wait tell I get my Machine we gon work and keep up the hard work u remind me so much of the young kayne and madlib just chopping up samples amazing
That's how I feel too, can't make beats myself on just a DAW. There are people who make the best stuff like that, but me, I really need some gear! Peace bro
A lot of people been asking for that indeed. But I don't think I will make tutorials though, maybe in the future. But now I just don't have enough time for all that sorry.. Peace!
Always knew you were good man, this video shows you are a true artist and craftsman. You deserve real props. Now to buy your mix tape, will it ever go on bandcamp?

Thanks man!! It's a problem I will always have when it comes to liking my beats like 70% of the time. But I try to show people more and more of what I make, even when I don't always like it that much. Peace and thx!!

Welcome back, bud.
7:52 these drums are insane
skillzzzz! very nice collection of beats! big up!
Day 4 is bananas, your production is up there with the best of them, no reason why you shouldn't have a record contract.
interesting fact. the sample at 11:21 was covered by diana ross and the supremes. The cover was then later sampled by Madvillain for Hardcore Hustle
Oh, nice man! The record you used for the break is also the melody sample for “Hardcore Hustle” by Madlib on Madvillainy. Very cool 👍
I was so sad to see what hip-hop had become but now you really gave me back my faith! Keep going, it's great!
'' Day 4 '' SOO SICK BEAT MAN, SALUTE!
This is amazing man! You have inspired me to start beat making in my dorm room. I just got my setup completed. Everything is from goodwill besides the mpc 2000xl and mixer. You have me hooked man.

I enjoyed the video. 1 hell of a setup.
Glad to see you using the right equipment. DAWs are great but hip-hop needs SP1200/MPC to feel real
That's how I feel too, can't make beats myself on just a DAW. There are people who make the best stuff like that, but me, I really need some gear! Peace bro
