Excellent video again TY for great tech tips ext!!! I actually have the red factor 5 truck 4.0 chassis what I ended up doing was added 80 w oil in shocks seamed to help it but I really like your idea changing shock completely longer throw
Thank you. Thicker oil works too. I guess what I like is how modular these cars are. The 4-Tec line is probably the best Traxxas has or at least it is my favorite RTR.
Dang the shocks will hit at normal body height? That’s my one of my gripes about the 3.0, the smaller 1/16 scale shocks, no extra holes to mount them (tuning), and the lack of 300mm plus bodies. And how not all of their upgraded servos will fit into these 4tec chassis’s apparently.
I wanna know if those big ass Traxxas brushless motors (the black/aluminum ribbed ones) will fit into these chassis’s. Just for shits and giggles to see how fast you can make it. Pretty much a “budget version” of the XO-1 lol. Though even with the extended chassis on these I doubt you could fit the bigger required esc.
I wish someone made a hybrid version of the two shock towers. Basically have the mounting points of the gtr big bore shocks, but still keep that rectangle shaped body mount for the body. I’ve been meaning to try to make a prototype version but I don’t have the 2.0 tower mounts to copy the shock placement dimensions, nor a 3D printer/cnc machine to make it actually look good. Gonna have to resort to flat bar steel.😂

What bodies are out there to swap too? Been looking to put regular body mounts on a change body but can’t find 288mm wheel base bodies
Any 200mm body works. It depends on the type of car you like. Protoform makes some awesome VTA bodies. Bittydesign makes some great ones. I picked up an HPI 1970 Mustang which is the bee's knees.
@@telecomandorc i did look and see protoform has nice bodies. They are all 260 mm wheel base. The Traxxas 4-tec 3.0 is 288mm wheel base. 28mm seems like enough to cause fittment issues.
@@The94gtmoose Wait sorry... I was thinking the 2.0. So, there are no other bodies. You are out of luck on the Factory 5. But you can buy the 2.0 tub and center shaft and just convert it.
