Outstanding video. Thank you. My 2.0 takes stock takes a beating. 50 mph. So fast.
Thank you ya these are pretty strong
Yeah BOI I have been waiting people to start doing this, I KNEW it had to be ridiculously similar, just ordered everything and now I’ll hold off on the infraction, was 50 dollars total for everything, kind of a no brained
$50 for everything is not bad at all.
@@OverBudgetRC no not at all, beats paying 500 dollars to update when all traxxas could come up with in 5 years was to make it a little longer and put different wheels on it LOL
I just priced it on eBay out of curiousity. Its cheaper to just buy a new complete 3.0 chassi with no electronics than it is to buy all the parts to convert 2.0 to 3.0. Then just move your elecronics over. Save you some time and money.
Can you do the reverse 3.0 to 2.0? I have a 3.0 but zero bodies available that aren’t absurdly priced.
Yes it can be done but I don't have these anymore to make a video on it
Awesome show 👏..
Thank you
I was hoping maybe the suspension would be a bit diifferent, mostly the rear. I was hoping to get the rear track width to 190mm for typical tires on the 2.0.
Ya they didn't change much between the 2
Didn't even know this was possible
The only thing I don’t like is the 3.0 bodies are $150 and as far as I know you can only use a Traxxas body on it. Do you know of any other bodies that fit ?
As of right now no they might come out with some later but I'm not sure.
Thanks.
Do you know if there is any way to fit a slash body on a 4-tec 2.0?
I doubt it the slash is almost twice as wide
So if i buy any model 3.0 4 tec rolling chassis from ebay with everything except Electronics (witch i have alredy) and then just get a plain 2.0 4 tec chassis everything will swap over right?? Because for $110 i can get a 3.0 slider but for a 2.0 slider its like $150 and up and i been wanting to do a skyline build but they dont make any skylike bodies for 3.0... So everything on the chassis is the same except the lift correct??
Ya just the chassis and the drive shaft and also the body mounts
Then you can sell those 3.0 parts to someone wanting to do the opposite.
Just dont get a 3.0 chassis from the 2 hot rods they have different suspension.
Where can I get the conversion kit from I was just about to go out and buy the 3.0 but I have upgraded 2.0
I don't think there is a kit available but i have all the parts you need in the description
@@OverBudgetRC Thank you very much
I actually have a 3.0 and want a 2.0 maybe we can swap parts or something
Is it easy to swap to a 2.0 what’s the cost to go backwards because I noticed they got rid of the 3.0 bodies
It would basically be this but backwards. Chassis and drive shaft and I think a few other parts its been awhile since I've done this. Buying parts from ebay from someone that takes apart rcs would be cheaper
@@OverBudgetRC thanks yeah I’m going to look because I’m racing at my local track and relised that 3.0 was discontinued so I think it’s cheaper to convert to a 2.0 than to buy a new 4tec
@jonathanstoermer3830 i didn't even realize they were discontinued they still have the supra but that is in between the corvette and 2.0 so you would still have to buy a chassis.
@@OverBudgetRC yeah I tried to order a new Supra body for it but they don’t sell it no more and I looked it up and it said they discontinued the 3.0 so I’m going to try to make it a 2.0 after my race season if it can wait idk how long the body will last
Can you tell me all the part numbers of 2.0 conversion 3.0? Thank you
Yes they are in the description
Are the 2.0 parts usable on the 3.0? I just got one and i want to make some aluminum upgrades but i cant find any parts for the 3.0
Ya most of them fit I've been using the 2.0 upgrades on mine
Does the 3.0 chasis come with the battery tray?
The battery tray is molded in the chassis did you mean the hold down its sold separate from the chassis
Hey question can I use the older style body post ?
Yes you can with the older front bumper and rear mount
I have the 2.0 and want that front splitter but I don’t want to drill new holes in my body. So I can buy this a swap out the older style body post
It looks like it has the slots to install them but no place to screw it in so you might be able to modify it to fit it depends on how far apart the hole are I don't have the 2.0 to compare it to anymore
@@OverBudgetRC ok thanks for th efeed back
can i keep using my 2.0 body? or will the longer chassis mess it up
It wouldn't really fit it would be way too short
Think I can convert a 3.0 to a 2.0
Ya you can it would basically be the opposite of what I did. But I'm curious why you would want to do that?
@@OverBudgetRC I just got it and didn’t notice there are like no body options
Do you think the 3.0 is better
@@1994RALLY Ya there isn't many choices I haven't driven mine much but I've heard the longer wheelbase is better for speed runs which is what I'm planning on doing with it. But as for normal driving I'm not sure which is better. I've had a 2.0 before but that one was modified to be a rally car.
@@1994RALLY It's brushless and its running 6s here is my build so far ruclips.net/p/PLcoQZLOF2cR4aYVcG_d-5cjfcz964E8HH
@@OverBudgetRC so what parts do I need to convert to a 2.0
DO NOT CONVERT TO A 3.0 THERE ARE NO BODIES THAT FIT THIS PIECE OF DUMP!!! KEEP THE 2.0 BY ALL MEANS!!!!
The corvette and supra bodies fit 😁
But ya hopefully someone will come out with some more bodies soon.
