I’m a little late to the comments here, but I’m currently working on a speed run 4tec 2.0 1. Out of the box the 4tes2 would barely free roll, (pinion removed hand rolled across the pavement), so I broke it down and found the rear diff axle bearings were in a bind so I did a little removal of the material on the outer edges of the bearings seat (not easy) but after that I replace all bearings with ceramic and wow what an improvement, it would free roll with a hand push for thirty feet. I believe a lot of nay sayers were correct about not achieving 70mph for this reason alone.
With good high flow fans like we show in the video, we have been able to do speed passes and plenty of drifting around on the high speed gearing without getting too hot. Without the fans, stock gearing it got too hot. Fans made a major difference. Check part 2 of this video for some drifting after the car hits 70!

So pretty much like every traxxas. Upgrade servo to steer and the brushed to brushless and then along with the breakage. Depending on how much you crash. 4 tec brushless save 190ish$
Man I love these 4-Tecs! I've never seen an ending like that where he flipped and spun like that lol awesome content though! Hoping to see more 🤙🏼

Couldn’t you guys put the ESC in “race” mode to get rid of reverse? That way on braking it doesn’t spin out as bad
Probably be able to mount those fans to the outside and use them as propellers and hit 100😂
Amazing run you gentlemen have filmed a excellent video
Haha it spun out everywhere 😅
10th scale is the hardest to built man,
Btw great run on that sunshine 👍
Those fans make it sound like a jet, but I also want OBA on my rig. (Same model just the GT stock with VXL)
It would be too loud for OBA
Can you actually play with it with that gearing in or is it just for speed runs??

Great Video!!! I make traxxas videos too. I subbed!!!
Cut the fans for one run it would have given 70 then re pull while battery has a full charge
May i ask does the chassis compatible with tamiya body kits???
I have no idea
@@nashtytracks cause i really like the body that tamiya made but i wonder if it fit the traxxas 4 tec 2.0 chassis now i'm at dillema hmmmm
Ye sif you but the 4-tec 2.0 it's compatible all 200-210 mm 1/10 scla bodies you get a lot of different body posts with the 4-tec 2.0 set...
Is it running on stock springs?
Yes
looks like a better body is needed for more downforce,,,its getting too much lift at speed
I feel like cutting holes could prevent some lift. Without causing a parachute effect.
@@redraider7614 its his tires. hes not running street ones that traxxas sells
Its your tires. you're running dirt tires instead of street tires
Something is bent.
what wheels are those
Ptotoform
He says it right in the beginning lol
@@DanBrando two years later lol lol 😆 😂 🤣 😅 🙃

There running the VXL, so brushless, only the brushless claims 70mph
Is it only me who observed the bluish thing at rear at 6:21 ?
Crazy! I’m guessing the tires were still smoking and the body made it seem blue?
