    The best FRFR video here on YT... Congratulations! This is the right way to do a review - using the microphone instead of the DI output going to the sound card... seriously.

    Does anyone know if this LFR-112 allows the playing of backing tracks using the AUX In?

    Hi Fabian
Rolf

    Buddy, I've been using my helix on a mackie thump active box. I have never used an frfr case and the opportunity arose to pick up a laney lfr112. Does it make a big difference in sound quality? Worth to buy?

    that was by far one of the best room tones I've ever heard out of a modeler. wow! how did you record that?

    Does the cabinet hiss when you turn up the HF trim? It sounded like it on the video.

    What is that guitar that you are using ??? I know it's a Les Paul model, but what is the brand?
    3:55 - You mentioned IR (impulse response) and I don't know what that is? I've been researching FRFR amps and so far, I'm leaning heavily on the Laney LFR 112.
    I will be using my Quad Cortex with it, as well as other pedals like my TRex Replicator Deluxe, a Boss RT-20 Rotary pedal, etc. Where is the IR ? In the modeler or the Laney?
    Also, I'd like to switch back and forth from analog pedals and the QC, as well as a combination of both.
    Do you have any tips, recommendations and/or advice to help me ??? Please ???

      @user-oh5ox8gy8p 8 месяцев назад +1

      The cabinet block on your quad cortex is an IR (impulse response. You need to use one if you use an FRFR cab. The frequency spectrum of a guitar speaker is extremely limited and the full range of the tone will sound unusable. So an IR is basically a capture/emulation/snapshot if a mic configuration. At its bare bones it's just a cabinet with a speaker with a mic in front but it can be more complicated.

      Thanks for your reply. Recently, I discovered the 4 cable method for hooking up a modeler multi-effects pedal to a tube amp. I don't think I'll do the FRFR active cab thing.@@user-oh5ox8gy8p

    How is it volume wise? Can it compete with a 100W Marshall Tube Head going to 4x12? Can it fill a stage on it own?

      probably not

    • @guitarhilley
      @guitarhilley 2 года назад +1

      It’s ment to be a personal reference.
      No guitaramp in the world is made to fill a stage unless it’s small-sized like in a cafe or something, that’s why there are monitors or, better yet, in-ear systems.

    Is it loud enough for gigs / band environment? :) I'm thinking of getting this or the LFR-212.

    • @allanb1402
      @allanb1402 3 года назад +5

      I used one for a while with a GT-1000 and it kept up fine with the band. We play mostly 80's and 90's rock for some perspective. I even used it at an outdoor gig and it was plenty loud with more in the tank if needed. For what it's worth I tried QSC and Friedman ASM12 before going with this. It just had the most 'amp in the room' sound out of all of them IMHO.

    Hi Fabian, thanks 4 the vid, one question. The 1x12 & 4x12 options, give a more realistic amp in a room sensation vs frfr being more flat, do you think? Thanks before hand.

    How does it hang with a real band, is it loud enough against a real drummer, or do you need the Laney 212?

    • @FabianRatsakGuitar
      @FabianRatsakGuitar  Год назад

      It sounds great , i would suggest the 212 ...depends on the drummer but i guess the 212 would be the better choice

    Hallo Fabian, ich habe das gleiche Setup (Line 6 Helix LT mit Laney LFR 112) wie du in diesem Video. Leider bekomme ich keinen brauchbaren Rocksound hin. Die besten Ergebnisse bekomme ich mit der 112 Einstellung am Laney hin. Mit IRs habe ich keine Erfahrung. Könntest du mir vielleicht ein brauchbares Patch zusenden, damit ich mein Setup überprüfen kann? Dafür wäre ich dir sehr dankbar.

      It’s digital. Not a tube amp. It sounds the same. The only issue is sometimes ears perceive volume as quality.

      Cant speak for a Helix (or even frfr, still deciding what to get, if at all, i think i am missing out using the ir's so i prob will ) but i do have a Kemper that i run though a couple of different guitar cabs i have. It kills it at "not pissing of the neighbors" volumes, it even seems to simulate feedback amazingly well some how. I have a real amp, a high end tweed deluxe clone, but it doesn't sound as good as the Kemper at the volumes i try to stick to, if i crank it to "my mate who lives two blocks away can hear me" (even on low power mode) levels, it may potentially sound better but honestly its not worth the complaints from neighbors and entire house vibrating! When i get around to profiling my 5e3 dimed i will do a direct comparison at like for like volumes.

    Hallo Fabian, ich hab dich vor einiger Zeit bei Horst Keller im Interview "kennengelernt" und muss dir wirklich mal ein großes Kompliment machen. Du bist ein unaufgeregter, toller Gitarrist und Mensch. So habe ich jetzt mal bei dir auf der Seite nachgesehen und mich gleich in die, von dir vorgestellte, Laney Box verliebt. Ich will mir einen Line6 Pod Go bestellen und bin schon die ganze Zeit am überlegen, ob ich Studiomonitore (Horst schwört ja auf Genelec), oder eine FRFR wie die kleine Headrush 108, oder die von dir vorgestellte Laney Box nehmen sollte. Spiele nir zuhause, so für mich. Kannst du mir deine Meinung zu Studiomonitore / FRFR Box benennen im Vergleich. Danke LG Thomas
