In my video I will be playing with shrink plastic again and creating some 80's themed earrings.
Please know that this will be my very last open invite collaboration. I am becoming increasingly time poor and increasingly brain poor as peri- menopause has me in it's grips and the daily struggle to function is real.
I will be handing over the reigns to Tracey from Miniscenes GB she will be announcing her collaboration dates very soon.

They were called shrinky dinks when I was younger. One of my favorite things to do as a kid. After coloring I would wait by the oven to watch them shrink up. So much fun!!
OMG .. AMAZEBALLS!! They look incredibly cute Claire. Love them. Now I'm off to buy some shrink wrap! 😂
Dear Claire, I’m so grateful that you are one of the first resin artists I ever saw and followed. I deeply respect your authenticity and enthusiastic willingness to just jump in with both feet. I’ve learned so much from you and for that is what I come here for. Even when things don’t go fully to plan, you roll with it and make the best of it. I’ve been binge watching all your videos. Please don’t stop, I love your style!
Back in the day, when I was at secondary school, we used to put crisp packets in the oven and shrink them and have mini packets of crisps keyrings 😍😂
Reminds me of the 70s when we used to put crisp bags under the grill, and then make them into badges
UB40 RED RED WINE used to be my ring tone. Love these earrings xx
I love shrinky dinks and UB40! Both since the 80s! 🙌😄 An oven works fantastic to shrink them. I have a tiny toaster oven and it works amazing, and is done in less 2 mins, so I’m not sure how much faster you get them done with a heat gun. It looks tedious with a heat gun. I pop mine in the oven, and then get my next tray ready while the ones in the oven are shrinking. I use my laser printer to print on my shrink plastic, and my cameo to cut them out. I make tiny little pieces for themed resin shaker charms and also custom keychains 😊
As a family, we have the kids write a letter to Santa and hang it in the tree for him to see. Love the shrink plastic.
I have pages of shrinky dinks in my closet, used them with my stamps and made earrings a few years back...lost of fun Claire!!!
These are SO COOL!!! Love the process but I haven’t even try to make any yet. Hahaha. I will eventually. I just love them. Happy Mother’s Day to you & all lovely ladies who are also moms of this live. ❤❤❤❤
Awesome! I was a durannie and would sit by the radio and press record for my favourite songs. Thanks for trip down memory lane. Love the roller skates.
Quick tip for flattening the shrink plastic is to use your stamp block straight onto it as soon as it's shrunk enough
Or the bottom of a drinking glass 😊
Clair, I love that you mention “Red Red Wine” when I think of that song I’m transported back to Clearwater beach in Florida. That’s where I grew up. My mom would take us to the beach and there was a hotel resort type place and they would play that song out by the pool so we would hear it on the beach. It’s a beautiful memory but it makes me miss my mom so much! Sadly I lost her 3 years ago. Thank you for reminding me of the fun we would have! ❤
Sorry it's your last open collab Claire, you did a lot for your community...it is a lot of work doing Collab's!!! Big hugs to you sweetie!
So much fun claire ❤ enjoyed watching your video (as always) my pawpaw purchased me a pair of skates at 8 years old. I learned how in their house 😅. I would skate back and forth from one end of the house to the other. My pawpaw then took me to the skating rink EVERY weekend (he could barely walk) and he sat and watched me skate. I ended up being one of the BEST skaters on the rink. 😂 great memories ❤ thanks for the blast from my past 😊 get better soon love!!
Lord, I used to LOVE Shrinky Dinks back in the 70s and 80s when I was a kid!! Love these!!
These are so wonderful Claire :) Massive thanks for organising the open collabs for so many years. I can't imagine how much work it has been but we all appreciate it so so much xxx
I’ve only used permanent markers or chalks on shrinky dinks. I never would have thought about acrylics. The more you know! Thanks.
I remember shrinky dinks being a free be in some cereal boxes as a child so this takes me back lol 😂
I'm also a great fan of UB40.🎶 Love what you have done Claire 😍🥰
Awww, Claire! These are *ADORABLE!* 💕😍😘 Glad you're giving yourself a break from the collabs. They really grew, didn't they? From just a few participants, to a whole mob! You deserve to spend your energy elsewhere! 😘😊👍
Try Prismacolor pencils, and if you want to outline, use a really tiny diameter Sharpie. Sand the matte side, draw on the shiny side. It makes a difference.
These are adorable Claire! I’ve used rubber stamps and permanent black ink pad on the shrink plastic. Love the drawing too…such fun!🌸
These are super cool. I remember doing shrink wrap with my mom as a child making keychains in the over lol. My favourite thing was cola cans lol 😆
I’ve only ever made things with shrink plastic in an oven or toaster oven. Always had fun with this stuff, and yeah, they were first marketed as shrinky - dinks when I was a kid. Oh and if you’re using an oven or toaster oven, trust the process and leave it closed till they have flattened back out. ❤❤❤
They are BEAUTIFUL!!
I’ve never thought of doing the shrink wrap. Thank you for bringing it to my attention!
I remember doing these as a kid. Brought back all sorts of memories. Thank you. Think I need to have a play with this again after watching this video xx
Wow! Talk about nostalgia! You took me back to my early years in the early 60s.
Adorable. I used to love shrinky dinks! 😊
Cool... I remember doing this with potato chip packets... they used to shrink well and made great jewellery.
These look cool 😁💙
I am LOVING the 80's themed items! Takes me back to my teenage years! But the shrinking part is a little scary! Love your videos! ❤ Thank you for the invite to collaborate!
Absolutely adorable!! Oh my 90s heart !! Did you know you could have used a pallet knife and held it over the shrink plastic and added heat to the pallet knife to shrink them and keep them flat at the same time?? It's a lot less work😂 I totally forgot you were doing an open collab I wanted to join in just so I could say I did a collab with you!! That would have been so much fun! Especially with me just doing my debut resin art video!! Tracey will do a fantastic job though she's such a sweetheart 🤗🥰♥️😘
Definitely brings back memories ❤
I have been enjoying this collab for DAYS!!! Thank you for doing all the work.
Love this idea, thanks for sharing. Thanks again for this collab Claire. Greetings Maggy Phoenix
OMG....too too cute Claire, I would definitely give it a try. Love the skates so much❤❤
" I make a mess just by breathing." 😂😂 You are not alone! I feel the same way🤣 Loved this video ♥️
Fabulous Claire, great job,as usual.xxxxx. Hope you feel better real soon 💚🩵💛LULxxx
So cute!
Thanks for the collaboration! Since I am new to this resin craft, it's the first collaboration I've seen, so was sad to hear it was your last! Glad that Tracey will be picking up where you are leaving off.
Good that you recognize your time and health considerations and hanging it up on such an upbeat and positive note! Kudos to you for that!
Will still be looking for your videos!
Absolutely love these.. They would make fab keyrings
So cute and the combination pens, shrink plastic and uv resin opens up so many possibilities 💜
Love your creative work and Happy Bless Furbaby Mother Day
Lovely skates and tapes.
I've used regular nail polish top coat to seal. Also Spray can sealant.
Baking in the oven results in fewer clump- ups. Not sure why, maybe partly because you can't easily try to prevent/ fix it.
The set we had in the 70s used a jelly-like paint that was transparent. It was really pretty, like stained glass.
SO RAD!! Love them ❤❤❤❤❤❤
This so brought me back to making shrinky dinks when I was a kid. 😂❤😂
I’m loving them Claire ❤
I have colored and shrunk disposable plastic containers. Thank you for sharing ❤
Love them i have lots of shrink plastic i use it with my grandkids, they l9ve making keychains. Think im going to use some for myself lol. See you next Sunday claire x
So great to meet you 🤩🤩🤩
Hahaha who could resist! Nice one
They’re awesome Claire, thank you x❤
Love it, “shrinky dinks” was the original name 60-70’s? It’s a blast to use, we made stained glass Christmas ornaments out of them. ❤❤
These are so adorable! Love them!
Such cute pair of earrings, Ms Claire 😍💜,loved the shrink prink doodle, its magical to watch them shrink slowly 💜💜. Love the earrings too much. For the time being, please take care of yourself,Ms Claire 😍💜. Hope you feel better soon 💜💜

Thank you for another shout out!!! Love these so much ❤ sorry I couldn't join the live chat, yesterday was a lot!! Xx
I finally saw the whole video. It is so lovely and I love the 80th so so much (my youth 😅). I am sorry you stop doing the Open Invite collaborations but I certainly do understand what it takes doing them. I will love participating with Trancey's Collabs too ❤
Loving it ♥️🫶♥️
Love them both ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
17:49 Hi Claire, have you considered black out curtains? You could use those & try using your craft room ceiling light? Just a thought as it would give you a UV daylight protection for your resin & you can then open them up when done.
Sad to know that it would be the last collaboration hosted from you,Ms Claire 💜.But yeah, listen to your body needs too, rest and self care first.
Today's creations were so adorable and unique 😍😍.Love how you drew these, shrinked them and converted it into earrings with the help of uv resin and jewelry attachments 💜😍💜,outstanding creations 💜💜💜
LOL Welllll...I don't recall any shrieking going on, but yeah, she definitely got in some shrinking! 😅👍😁
@@fairyspunfibers9098 Oops,that was typing error 😅😅

🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
❤👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👌🏻😃
Claire could you have the cricut draw on the shrink plastic? I feel that might work? I might try it!
Oooo I've never tried it but wow that would be amazing ... I have never used my Cricut for drawing ha ha I don't even know how x let me know how you get on ❤️❤️
Hi Claire, do you have any videos on how to put photos in resin to make ornaments, key chains or trays
Heyyyy lovely ... I dont sadly 😢😢
I have found that if you put a jump ring in it before you shrink them then you won't have to drill them after.
Heyyy Hilda - thank you - how do you top coat them with a jump ring ?
@@ClairesCraftyCorner I top coat them the same way as I would without because the shrink plastic shrinks down around the jump ring closing the hole. I just put them up on something like a small ring mould to keep it level. It works a charm.
@@hildalewis5958 ahhhhhhh sounds great 🤩🤩
Sorry, what is an open collaboration? I can't find details so dont know how it works. Is it only youtubers? Thanks.
heyyyyy lovely - no it is not only You Tubers it is instagram also - the details have been posted for a couple months now so you may be new here - If you head over to my Instagram you will see it all on my page :) xxx
