Corn flour in a fine piece of cotton will work the same as an anti static pad. You can also add another layer of embossing powder over the top whilst it's still warm, it will stick without stamping. Reheat and you'll get a smoother look. I love these even with the little unintended parts. So glad I've found your channel thanks for the fun and ideas xxxx
Awh Claire, I loved that.....I was thinking....and I know....before I say it 'you hate sanding' 😂😂 but could you maybe sand the jesmonite lightly as it approaches the resin, I don't know if this is making sense, but at an angle so there isn't a step if you like or channel as you called it, I know it's too late for the ones in this video but for the other two maybe? Hahah I don't know.....😂😂 But totally loved how these turned out, 😍 ❤️ everytime I watch your videos I'm like, oh no I need to buy that now haha 😂😂
Re embossing - baby powder in a piece of fine cotton is ok to remove static, plus, a specific embossing ink that is stickier will give a smoother emboss. I love this idea.
beautiful 😍 and if you are using new stamps you actually need to prine them to remove the factory residue, and the easiest way is to rub them over your skin till they dull, its that easy it give a surface for the ink to completely grab then the embossing wont be as dotty xx
Although that canal appreaed between the 2 chemicals, it made it even more unique and beautiful, Ms Claire. And you saved it beautifully 😍 💜,love that deer stamp, the textured embossed effects on it,just looking like a wow 😍💜
I love the embossing!! I’ve got some of that stuff in my scrapbook stash from about 20 years ago and never used it!! lol really love the effect it gave the reindeer so pretty
I still love these regardless of the "canals lol" I do appreciate the fact you post errors made. Makes you only human and shows other crafters that mistakes happen to even the most experienced ones.. keep up the brill work claire. Look forward to your next upload xx ❤
I happen to really /like/ the “channel”! I think it adds a ton of textural interest to the piece, and really appreciate the aesthetic of making it silver! These are so elegantly simple and gorgeous!
I actually decorate my tree with pearl white and silver and small Spitz of red velvet! Idk why it just feels right for me. I put white lights on it and color lights in my windows with some trimmings.❤❤❤❤
I really, really appreciate that You share @Claire’s Crafty Corner when things don’t go to plan because it happens to most of Us, especially I believe; when We’re experimenting & pushing the envelope when it comes to techniques! These are beyond gorgeous & I LOVE your channel, all that you do & all that You share! ❤❤❤❤❤
Gorgeous just gorgeous even with the channel ! I love ❤️ the silver & white theme also for Christmas 🎄. I realize that this is not what you planned however you pivoted so graciously. You made an oops into gorgeous coasters. Thank you Claire !
I don't know if this would work on Jesmonite or not, but when you get that kind of dotty look on paper, it helps to double emboss. On paper, you reheat the embossing powder and pour more on. The molten embossing will act as the glue. Let it cool completely, then pour off the extra, and reheat. it gives a more solid, uniform look - on paper....
@@ClairesCraftyCorner I have used a good quality embossing ink on resin (not sure of Jesmonite) and I got the dotting. In fact, I got more smearing too. I think because resin is not porous. Jesmonite might react differently. Anyways, I still got the dotting on resin. The ink almost beads up.
They are still lovely, with the canals and all. I think evaporation of the water is a significant part of the curing process of the eco pour type resins, and the layer of epoxy resin prevented that. By the time the epoxy part was hard and you demolded the pieces, maybe the remaining wet jesmonite had lost momentum to cure. I use a different brand, and am yet to try to combine resin and eco pour, but after watching this, I think I'll let the eco pour cure first, just in case, and then add the resin. I'm picturing a clear blue night sky of epoxy over white snow with forest animals.
They look so pretty. When something goes wrong it always happens when you are showing someone how to do something ..Happens to me too,but great rescue and they are very seasonal love the idea it’s really cool 🥰
I’ve never done embossing or even stamping but this video may encourage me to try. They are gorgeous! I’m going to check all in your shop too. Thanks Claire!
I wonder if you could have sanded the Jesmonite off? Then, you would just add a small bit of resin over the sanded portion to make it shiny again! Please try! I want to see if it works ❤️
I love your creations! Have you tried to make a stamping platform for such things? You may get a better stamping result (I know most are made for paper stamping but I've seen homemade ones work well)
Oh yes! It’s obvious! To me, the jesmonite (sp?) is the snowy land, and the sparkly , silvery resin is the sky! We’re it me, I’d use the backs! That said, I haven’t finished the video yet!
Clear stamps - when new, they need to be "seasoned" so ink applies evenly. I prefer to ink onto versamark first, then colored ink. If using embossing powder, I'd use only versamark and skip the colored ink.
I wonder how well it would work if you made 2 jesmonite coasters and snap them in half before they are fully cured then put the half pieces back in the molds and your resin on the other side
That would work too - I've tried it ... we just get a LOT more resin seepage because we have broken the seal from the mould if that makes sense xx we could also just pour the jes.... a little .. let it fully cure then pour the resin 🤩🤩🤩
It's a bit like an oil/water don't mix thing that happened there. Jesmonite is a bit like cement and probably has a certain amount of water, whereas resin is a plastic type compound, so doesn't have any water.
Hypothetical solution, still only partway into the video: Put your mould on an incline. Then, pour one and let it cure on the angle. Flip your mould a 180, and pour the other material!
There still beautiful ,maybe you could have filled the channel with uv resin and a bit of silver glitter, but amazing embossing never done that it looks fun and interesting, Saying that I've never done epoxy resin or gesmanite,
Does uv resin stick to expoy resin and jesmonite? Cause couldnt we use that to fill the channels? Either way i think they turned out beautifully! Very winter wonderland - xmas feeling!
I loved your idea! I went to your Amazon shop to look for those stamps and embossing powder. I didn’t find them. Where would they be? Did you put a sealer of some type on the Jesmonite?
If I wanted your original idea to turn out, could I pour the first part in, with my mold at a SLIGHT very suported grade, to make sure i have that 1/3 left? Then, once that part is set, put the resin in? Or does this type of project have to be done at one time?
I think you answered my question. You can't put Epoxy Resin over or next to Jesmonite. It won't adhere. Is that correct? Could you do it in stages anyway, but instead of waiting for the Jesmonite to cure, just let it settle for a little while and get very comfortable where it is ( 15 min to maybe even an hour). Then come back and pour the Epoxy Resin? Or is it all right now or nothing?
OK. So now I've rewound the video 3 times and even watched it with my husband and I think I get it; Jesmonites poured over Epoxy will never adhere. But, you can pour Epoxy Resin over Jesmonite and it WILL adhere. So, if the uncured Jesmonite channel was such a big deal, why didn't you fill it with Epoxy Resin after you discovered it? These are beautiful! I'm just trying to find out if these are salvageable with your original idea. Or were you happy enough coloring it with the silver pen?
I like them anyway, they are really different. I found out the hard way that resin doesn’t stick to cured eco pours 😢. Many trinket relays poured and ruined
Excellent save! Adding the silver ink to the channel really looks quite elegant. What I recommend you use instead of Brilliance ink is clear embossing ink (like Versamark) for the stamping. It's stickier and will hold the embossing powder better. It will also melt better if you reduce the time and heat on the powder - it usually balls up like that when its too hot (although on non-paper surfaces this effect can happen more often than on porous surfaces). You can make your own de-static bag by using some cornstarch in a small cloth bag and rub it on the surface before inking. I have mine for almost 20 years and I still use it!

They are beautiful Claire, you can think of that "channel " as a tree trunk. Paint some.thin branches and you have a winter tree lol
Being a true artist makes an oops into a beautiful craft. Your humor and love for trying things and sharing everything..is why i love watching you.❤
@@marlenederks9116 thankyooooo so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️
They are stunning! The snowflakes were a great addition and somehow give the coasters a more finished look.
I love silver and white for Christmas! I usually end up adding a touch of blue as well. These turned out great.
These would make fantastic ornaments, especially because they are partly transparent to let the lights show through
Tumble dryer sheets will remove static Clair. I loved the deer they looked fabulous ❤
They are fantastic and you have truly unique pieces there totally one-of-a-kind

Absolutely gorgeous Claire love them❤❤❤❤
and we miss you!!😁 The coasters still turned out beautiful!❤
Even when you have an oops! the final result is gorgeous
These look beautiful! They will look very pretty hung on your tree with a silver ribbon.😍
Loving what you did. Brilliant Claire 🫶
Wonderful video and I love the coasters.❤❤❤ Glad you are back.
It's not a canal, it's just a tall, skinny iceburg!😂 beautiful job, Claire❤

They are pretty. Love the white and silver.
These are beautiful! I love the channel in these!!!
I haven’t used embossing. This was great to watch. I love silver… Silver with lighter blues are also lovely for the holidays.
They turned out out beautiful. You know if you use a dryer sheet that will take away the static. ❤❤

Maybe you could try resincrete (probably spelled it wrong). It's very similar to jesmonite, but absolutely compatible with epoxy resin.

Heyyyyy lovely ... no I don't believe you do have to use the same colour ... I used to just use a clear stamp years ago I'm sure 🤩🤩🤩
@@ClairesCraftyCorner ok thank you 😊
