It couldnt be anymore perfect. It looked like there is fresh snow and he sunk down in it. It looks authentic. The trees were perfect. If I tried this, there'd probably be bubbles just at the tips, lol. I just love these little globes. Heres a challenge. Try making these globes where one can add the glycerin and water and make a snow globe or sprinkle snow flake confetti in these globes where they are falling in the background. Or just all around. Suspended throughout the resin. I can see it. I'm not sure if Im coming across as such. All these are just suggestions or take it as a challenge. Your work is beautiful and stay positive as the person that you are. Peace Love Joy and Harmony✌🏼❤️🎶😊🙏🏼
I don't mind tiny bubbles in a snow scene; it just looks like snow! :) This idea is absolutely adorable and yes you hit the nail on the head with Santa's position in the "snow" !!♥
These are so cute. To get the Santa the same level as the trees, measure the distance from the bottom of the tree to the entrance of the mold, then build his platform to that height. Instead of using hot glue to fix the platform to the stick that suspends it, use removable mounting putty. Instead of spraying alcohol into the mold to help get the casting out, use soapy water. It works the same and doesn't dry out the mold like alcohol can.
His feet look great! 😍 It actually looks like his boots crushed the snow down, leaving him in a little depression the way snow would look. Fantastic job Claire 👏
Hey Claire, these turned out soooo cute. If you put a light on the other side of the mold you should be able to see through it. Should help you gage where things are. Could also use fishing string and a stick. Scared me when all of them came off, but glad it turned out.
Adorable! 😍I make “sticks”out of UV resin and attach those to the item and a popsicle stick. Then I snip off excess if needed, but they pretty much disappear in the pour.
When I’m using deep pour, I submerge my mold in warm/hot water for the first few hours. Really reduces the chance of any bubbles remaining. Love your spheres, note I’m going to make a few for Christmas❤
Your enthusiasm is entirely contagious 💕 love these and as a new subscriber that may have binge watched a few of your posts, I’ve yet to see anything that isn’t adorable 🥰
Your excitement is infectious! It always had me smiling😊 When you said Santa looks smushed, I laughed out loud at the thought of looking up for a way out
What a cute idea! Made the first spheres we ever made today. Three different sizes to make a snowman! I can’t wait to see what they look like! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
I LOVE these! They are adorable 🥰 You're right, it is scary when doing spheres and 'dangly' stuff! Any encapsulation really!! That little tree though!! 🥰🥰 I have found that spraying the inside of the mold with alcohol before you fill it up helps with eliminating the surface bubbles. Doesn't cure the problem totally, but definitely helps. I spray all my molds with nooks and crannies with alcohol first, it definitely helps xxx
When I do anything where I struggle to see inside the mold, I use a high powered torch/ flashlight behind it & it makes it easier to see what you're doing. That was a beautiful sphere 🤗
YAY!! PERFECT Santa and tree spheres! 😘💕😊👍 They are adorable! 😍❤ Yes, after pouring the clear resin, just use the vacuum chamber. Should be plenty of room to let the resin bubble up and the air bubbles pop, without spillover.
Hi Claire, I use the clear acrylic sticks if it's too heavy for a nylon string as if you have to leave them in they're virtually invisible. If I want to temporarily stick something down I'll use double sided sticky tape. It's usually strong enough.
These turned out great!!!! Ill have to see if i can still get the pieces. One thing I've found that helps when using alcohol to demold is to spray some alcohol on at least two sides, then squish it around and let it sit for a minute or two. Those sphere molds come out so easy then! I also use a bowl with a towel over it when demolding, or just a towel on the counter so the items don't go flying out too far.
When I want to have item in middle of sphere - I use fishing line. I use UV resin to attatch 2 lines of thin clear filament. Then I tie that to a craft stick and secure to stick with glue once I'm sure of depth. The filament is hard to see in resin. And I can see inside mold fairly easily. I think I learned that from Steve MacDonald and previous puppet making.
Hi Claire, when I've made a platform ti sink items I also glue items to lolly sticks and to build it up I use a screw through the over lapping lolly stick through the others, drill a hole through the sticks before adding the screw or the sticks might spilt...... I hope this tip helps you or anyone else..... Happy new year to you Treacle 😘xx
These are so cool and a great idea for Christmas .Actually you could even do them for Birthdays or mementos of something like a wedding Anniversary ..So really they can be really used for more than just Christmas so you can get more use out of them.I loved the trees in the background too, they turned it into a lovely scene 🥰
Holy moly! These both turned out fantastic! Let me say that the bubbles on Santa look like snowflakes a bit. Awesome job! I would have used tape to build the thing Santa was standing on. But great job! 👏🏻 I love them both. Thank you! ❣️ 🎅 🎄
First video I watched of yours and OMG I could hear your happiness. New sub here. I usually don't comment but I had to let you know that you did very good and I'm sure I'm not the only one who could hear the excitement and happiness in your voice.
Look at those..they turned out great. Totally understand u freaking out, its alot of work for it to look like crap..but u did it and I learnt something lol well done x
Clear fishing line and uv resin. I have a cauldron stand i put over and egg. I uv resined the fishing line to the item and to a skewer (popsicle stick) at a correct length to hang into the mold and let sit.

Wow, you can see some bubbles but it fits with Santa. I like them both❤❤😊

It does look like snow!

I just tried out mounting putty for a project and it worked great! I had forgotten I had it and found it when I was trying to organize.
They are too cute ❤❤🎉🎉😊
I like the air bubbles, as they remind me of fine snow flakes blowing in the wind .😊💕⛄🎄
Sooooo Cute! Yep, it looks like he's stepped in powdery snow and he just sank in there ... Thanks for this vid, it's perfect!!

I would put tape or draw a line on the outside of the mold to mark where the bottom of the trees and Santa's boots should be at.
Beautiful! Thank you.
Wow brilliant 👍👍👍
