In this video I am trying a different technique using Eco's. I am testing this out with 4 different Eco's. Would we get better results if the spray paint was wet ? Have you tried this ? let me know in the comment section.

Hydro dipping IS the correct term. However, the METHOD is what is different from those who use hydro film. Hydro=water dipping=dipping the item into the paint covered water. Stop listening to others and do your thang! ❤
Came here to say the same thing! YES, IT IS HYDRO-DIPPING!
Claire is right and those who corrected her are...well, not correct. There are SEVERAL h-d techniques!
I love it that Claire says eff the rules, gunna do it MY way. 😅💕👍
Claire, you keep right on calling it hydro dipping. Here is the definition I found online and it matches exactly what you are doing: What is hydro dipping?
Hydro dipping is a form of water transfer printing. Colours are applied to the surface of water to create a pattern, when an object is dipped into it the colours and patterns adhere to the surface of the object. It’s also known as immersion printing and is a form of marbling - a technique loved by crafters like Sara Davies.
What a great video! Loved this Claire! It is all fun with art and definitely fine to make mistakes 😂 Loved the results with the Jesmonite! It's stunning! ❤
Love this experiment, thinking laterally to what Daniel Cooper has been doing...I wonder if spraying with hairspray once the paint dried would improve the way it sticks to the eco pour?????😅
Oh I loved that you spent so much time to test each of these products and of course you didn't test the eco stone like I have here to use 😂 how many of those tray molds do you have girl 😂?
Stunning! I'd like to see how the respective sealers work ... if there's a difference from usual...
Many you could try dipping them after they’re molded
I’d love to see you include the Magic Pour casting powder from Let’s Resin. It looks really good, so I’d love to see your opinion of it.
Love this experiment . I felt like I was there with you .when you unmolded them I was saying yes,and cheering for them. Thanks for this video.
They all turned out beautiful
Dear Claire, I find myself ever more using the phrase “Oh my goodness me”. Now I know where I learned it 😂. Love your work dear.
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Cool results, 👌
Just call it aqua dipping, Claire, to end some people’s confusion 😂 Although that sounds a bit dodgy maybe? Like skinny dipping or something 🤣
I do enjoy a good comparison, experimental video. Thanks for giving it a go.
Love the results with the jesmonite! Its beautiful! Thanks for sharing this experiment it was so much fun to watch and learn.
I think that the lines in the trays appeared because when dipping the spray is like a membrane on the water and it is wrinkling as you move it. I hope you understand what I mean.
Ooh those lines looked like fossils in marble slabs! Beautiful! Think this technique might be called water marbling? ❤
Cool Experiment
❤❤❤👍🏻👍🏻👌🏻👌🏻🤩
Thank you for the testing! I have a different kind of eco pout product and I’ll try that. Thanks again! ❣️🌺
Hi Claire great experiment was great to see all the results, thanks for sharing ❤❤❤ xxx
Ooohhh I love this! I love them all but prefer the ones that don’t pick it all up. I love the elegant look xx
Super interesting video. I have something in mind to test that I am hoping will work like the spray paint. Will deffo be trying it ASAP. Love the results you got.
The lines in the trays are from where the spray paint got water trapped between it and the mould and then when the water got out and the paint was dry, it would have left the paint slightly stretched. Leaving ridged sections. I hope that makes sense. I'm not always able to get what I am trying to say out properly lol. Brain just isn't braining lol xx
😊
From my experience with Jesmonite, nothing happens if you add less powder 😂 Is just that it takes longer to cure.
I made a huge mistake once and added way less powder than I should have. I didn't know what to do with the final result so I just let it sit for a gooood while (a month or so) then I tried to break it(snap it) and I couldn't..So, I think is pretty solid either way 😁 As long as is very well cured 😁
Great experiment Claire 🤩
Love this video and experiment, Claire. It's the main reason I enjoy watching your channel. You take an idea and make it a challenge. ❤❤❤
Love this experiment. I just watched Resin Me Up using a DecoArt Magic Water Marbling additive and paints to do this to Let's Resin Magic Pour.
I wondered if you could get it and I did find it that site that starts with a A and ends with Nthat YT won't let me type or it removes my posts. Don't know why,but they do. It ships from the US. It didn't mention shipping fees though. There was a DecoArt kit, too. It had a small thing of the medium and black, white, blue, red, and yellow paints.
But while i was looking I saw several kits that do the same thing with a medium and paints that were advertised for kids but aren't we all big kids?
The point is there were all kinds of marbling kits, it might be worth looking into. ❤
Thank you so much for trying this Claire. Looks like I need to get some spray paints!
The Jesmonite reminds me of fairly thick icing you pour over cinnamon buns, or cake tops, or whatever! Or, pudding before it sets up?
Wow, the Jesmonite picked up *everything!* I'm impressed! 😊👍
*** I wonder if metallic paints might have prevented the paints being picked up? I also wonder if matte paints would work better, or shiny ones?
❤ GREAT experiment, Claire -- thank you! 😊💕
Thanks for sharing. ❤
Lovely experimenting video,Ms Claire 💜💜.I guess all thr materials have their own beauty, although the colors stayed on the mold too,but the patterns were mesmerizing. Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful video 🙏💜💜
Lovely experimenting video,Ms Claire 💜.Each resin alternative has its own feature, the results clearly tell us that they are different materials, thank u for sharing this experiment with us,Ms Claire 🙏💜
whatever you call it, it's great!
Thank you so much for trying it!!! ❤️
I definitely want to try it too 😅
My sweet lovely Jesmonite ❤️❤️❤️ Picked up everything ❤️
❤❤❤
For someone who's never used these they all look about the same, this proves they aren't. Great experiment!
😊😊😊😊
So glad you tried this with eco pours. I was curious. I wonder what results you would get if you let all the eco pours cure and then did the hydro dipping?
Would water marbling be a more accurate name? Whatever you want to call it, love the way these look.
I wonder if they were to be demolded before they start sweating, if that might have an effect on the paint staying? I feel like the sweating may be a factor? I have tried a few different -ecos- myself at this point and I know they all sweat as they are curing. Just a thought! I need to grab some paint so I can experiment too lol
On a completely different note, I made a candle holder yesterday for mil with a uv resin blue crab I made, perched atop… I glued it to the lid with uv resin!! I wasn’t sure if it would work but I was SUPER impressed! This was using the newish mix2mold from Michaels/ Brea Reese, which from what I could tell researching may be ceramic.
Very nice results. ❤❤❤
Claire, thank you, I have some resin Crete, but I’ve not messed around with it. I really like it, and the whiteness of it. Your experiments are awesome x❤
Thank you do much Claire. Do you think if I sealed them it would stay?
I love the jesmonite result. I use a brand called A1 (acrylic one), which has a liquid component like jesmonite, and I'll need to try this with it. But I assume the easier way to go about this would be to just dip the cured item. Am I wrong to think yiu've done that at some point?
I'm trying to think what this technique is called, if it's not hydrodipping. Is this water marbling? I always thiught theh were the same thing.
This is Awesome! ❤
I wonder what would happen if you dipped the completed eco. Make all 4 again, no color, then dip each one.
Have you tried just dipping the unmolded piece instead of the mold?
yesss - I did a couple videos last year on my channel :) works great xxx
would you be able to make some teays out of either of these powders and dip them after they set instead of dipping the moulds ? 🤔
Hope you didn't think I was criticising :( just trying to help with info. To me it is ALL hydrodipping as it's a film on water. However I think the special way was trademarked and they're precious about hammering it in to people that it's only their products that are the right way. Anyhow: woooo white and gold, yummy, love them
Hi Claire, do you know what are the ratios for doing 2 colors of Jesmonite for a marble effect? Not to use one container for the whole Jesmonite but 2 containers to mix.
Hi there
What happens when you dip the ecopours after you cast them? After they are sealed or not? Just a thought for another video.
Heyyyyy lovely ... I already did this last year ❤️❤️ works great
So is this a plaster kind of finish or more like a resin finish?
More like a ceramic. They are super smooth, cold and heavy. It’s quite wonderful lol
Hello! Wondering which eco you'd recommend for very small moulds? Like, earring size? I'm looking for the one that's the most scratch resistant, and has the best strength for delicate sizes? Hopefully someone here has a recommendation for me... thank you! Xx
Heyyyyy Helen .. I would recommend Jesmonite AC100. ❤️❤️❤️
