Just because you guys fucked up installation or don’t fully understand how the program works does not mean the program doesn’t work. Its not a plug and play program, you guys actually have to understand how the program works.
Thank's for your time and for sharing with us. I was very afraid about this addon, as it seems at first glance very complicated. Finally I bought it, and followed cautiously all the steps of the install process and donwload a dozen of airports operations and ground routes for good measure. Then I follow your advice and it works like charm. A great addon. Thank's again.
32:21 when you said his engines were spooling up, how did you get that sound. I have WT3 but the sound is very crappy and sounds like a turbo prop at times
Excellent Video, I couldn't get WT3 installed, then I watched your video and in 42 min.12 sec. boom, installed, even ran the installer without trouble, (kidding). I got rid of my toaster and upgraded to a gaming Desktop, Nvidia ATX 2070 video card, what a difference in fps.. Great sense of humor, (you will answer, give us money). So the part where I downloaded the real traffic and put it in the folders suggested when I go to activate it I dont see them. I only see the default ones that were there. Any ideas?
I would like to thank you for this video. It explained things well and anyone that gives their time to do this deserves a big thank you. That said I have nothing showing up in the regions listing despite the packs being in the correct location. I'm sure I'll figure it out. I am a hardcore P3D user, but I was looking forward to having a bit of fun with X-Plane, its not turning out that wau unfortunately. Given the fact I have just spent the same amount of money on this traffic package as I did on UT Live on P3D, it really feels like going back to DOS 6.22 after living with Windows for 25 years. Its convoluted to setup and the whole debacle with every airport is just insane, I'm sorry there's no reason V11 should have been released without traffic paths in airports. FS98 from 20 years ago had ATC driven AI traffic , gates and taxiways routes were integrated in to the platform. Even the interface in this addon is diabolical and the installation process should be one installation program and automated with a user friendly interface. I so wanted to love this but it's alpha test level software that's been released as payware.
Here's the big problem with X-Plane and the way it is setup. Austin developed it to be a flight engineering tool at first, not really a 'simulator' per say. That was LOOOOONG ago but this mentality has persisted. Flight Model! Flight model! Flight model! Dude... your flight model... is GREAT! STOP! You have given Airplane designers all they need to make great payware quality aircraft.. ENOUGH... dude.... ATC, AI Traffic, Weather SDK and VR... THIS... should be your ONLY goals right now... but nope.... we continue. Up until X-Plane 10.51, Gate information wasn't a thing you could really put in your airport. Taxi Routes aren't integrated with taxi lines like FSX but I actually like that. It gives better control. What I don't like is drawing all the taxi lines and then having to draw all the Taxi Routes over them. There needs to be a feature in WED (used for making airports) that let's you select the taxi lines and with the click of a button 'Generate Taxi Routes from Taxi Lines'. Done. Every airport would have routes if that feature was available because a lot of airport designers are still stuck in XP10 mindset... they don't want to have to draw taxi routes and put gate information in place.... Now as for your regions being blank.. that is an easy fix. Before you setup a flight, open up the Key Command Menu for WT3 and go down and Select Re-Sync. Now go back to your Regions menu. All your regions should be there now. You only have to do that one time. Now turn on AFRE routes, turn off Random Traffic Gen in the Flight Setup menu and away you go. Trust me.. I know your frustration... that being said... X-Plane, to me, is much better for how I fly... All the Ortho you could want with autogen and vector data that you could possibly want.. For FREE. That stuff costs Hundreds of Dollars in P3D... I know.. .I bought it all.. The ORBX Vector, Landclass stuff... all the MEgaSceneryEarth 2.0 states for the US... I have spent thousands on P3D.... but.. X-Plane has won me over. P3D/FSX is the flight sim for people who don't want full control over their simulator.. who would rather just turn it on and go. X-Plane is far more flexible to the person like me that wants to customize the experience without shelling out gobs of money on stuff that is 100% free with X-Plane... THIS #Freeware though comes at a price... it makes Payware developers like REX, ORBX and all the Airport Designers very slow to want to come over here because they are competing against FREE and that's a hard thing to fight.
Well thank you for your comments, you have convinced me to keep going. I'm very tech savy and actually enjoy tweaking things. I just ended up so frustrated yesterday with this......I went back and flew a CRJ in VR in P3D and now I'm coming back for another go....lol...I hate things beating me. I do appreciate you giving me the tips to proceed too !! That's awesome. Ironically I too have also spent $1000's on P3D. Some of those purchases turned out to be hype or way too resource hungry. An ironic example is weather . I went down the whole Active Sky route, all versions and I've ended up back with FSRealWX with Rex clouds. It does a fine job and not resource hungry...plus I can use it with X-Plane too. So I totally get where you are coming from. I'm a long time beta tester with FlyInside and feel their VR solution is better than the X-Plane native solution of using Steam VR, which is simply awful. I get their rationale for doing that, but Steam VR is still toy town at the moment. Currently like you I use Pilot2ATC and also dislike VatSim. I'm a real world PP and getting patronized by an amateur virtual controller for using verbage you use in actual real world operations from the very same airport in real life was just hilarious. So here's my situation, I use P3D for what it was designed to be used for. For real world practice simulation. I do frly a CRJ700 here and there on it for fun because its a pretty challenging aircraft. I uses the full suite of Orbx, weather , Pilot2ATC, A2A 180, LiveAI, Navigraph , fsAerodata, have some accurate airports for my area (Boston/Manchester NH/NE corridor). I use all this in VR. I want to achieve the same thing in X-Plane and I'm slowly finding certain things but everything seems so fragmented and convoluted, Like you said the fact a lot is free does really justify a bit more effort on my part. Any pointers you can give me to achieve what I'm trying to do would be awesome. I see Aerosoft have released a CRJ200, I have that on my radar. But with regards to scenery, I have no clue and I'm scratching my head a bit. Again, I really do thank you for taking the time to respond and realizing where my frustrations were coming from, even though my delivery was a bit OTT. I really do want to get on with X-Plane because the flight model is great....a cliche I know, but its true and pretty important if you are practicing say a cross wind landing on a runway that in real life is like landing on the surface of the moon. I love the runways following the terrain in XP, even though its not perfect. The hill on RW35 at KMHT is exactly what its like in real life. There's no such thing as an actual flat runway in like in FSX/P3D and you get bounced all over the place in reality in a light aircraft. However the developer should have realized long ago that the perfect flight model also include the workload of flying the aircraft, carrying out check lists, dealing with ATC, looking out for traffic and dealing with changing winds all at the same time. That's a real world flight model !! :) I will also say that I just purchesed the most gorgeous KMHT addon airport for P3d that has just been released to find AI aircraft were just appearing and disappearing. The developer had not done any taxi-routes or gate assignments whatsoever. THere were over 300 disconnects. When confronted they said that would be done for V1.1 . I spent 3 or 4 hours doing this for them and sent them the updated airport.bgl . Now its a truly perfect airport with the correct operations when used with something like UTLive. So...its not a problem alone to XP if the truth be told, though it may be more prominent because XP has only just been given a more realistic underlying AI functionality.
Thanks a lot for this helpful video. As a Mac user of the previous WT2 I am contemplating the arrival of the Mac plugin of WT3 eagerly. Meanwhile some questions. Is it possible to use the ground routes that were once created in WT2 or are they incompatible? I've been through the tedious job of creating my ground routes for Frankfurt EDDF with the help of Massimo68's ground route editor. Do you know if that editor will still work or is it a must to go through WED with creating a taxi network and then ground routes? I noticed the AI aircraft do not cast shadows. Have you turned shadows off for the purpose of the video or does WT3 AI traffic not produce shadows?

I do t know. Maybe we did the j stall wrong or something. It was t a smooth process I can tell you that. Without WT3 with all my Xplane slider pretty darn high we get great performance...so I do t know.
Captain K-Man - WT 3 does add some realism to X-Plane and I find myself spending time watching the departures and arrivals since it's so cool. The problem that I'm now facing is low frame rates which is mainly due to a 3 - monitor set-up. Before installing WT3 my frame rates averaged 25-35 at some of the dense airports. Last night, during a flight from EGLL to EIDW, my frame rate before departing was barely 15-19 with WT3. Once I hit my cruising altitude it jumped up to 24-29 with most of the rendering options set at medium. I've also adjusted my WT3 sliders to bare minimum settings and computer hardware includes: Intel i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40 GHz, 32 GB of RAM, Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti and 3 Asus 24" monitors. I moved from FSX to X-Plane mainly due to the 3 monitor set-up option which allows you to set-up multiple monitors with no graphic distortion. Thanks for your help!
Simply put, you are asking your system to do too much. Even with a 1080ti (I have one too and 3 24" ASUS as well) you are straining the system to the max because the CPU is having to help render objects across 3 monitors now as well, not just the video card. All that stress on your CPU with WT3 running on top of it (WT3 is very much CPU intense. Doesn't matter how awesome your video card is) is going to drag you down. I only run my sim on the center monitor personally and use the left for Pilot2ATC and the right for Navigraph Sim Charts with moderately high settings in both XP and WT3 and never fall under 30 FPS. A 7700k/8700k may help a little bit but not much. Triple wide is nice but the sacrifice of performance isn't worth it for me.
Geat video! K-Man, this addon is using same SIDs and STARs as at charts. But does WT3 support VISUAL arrivals & departures, as turns around terrain at Madeira, Insbruk, Paro, etc. ?
Aircraft not equipped with the proper equipment will always use a Visual approach. If the airport has some funky arrival rules because of terrain features WT3 can be made appear of it by setting up a custom Airport Operations file for the airport in question. This allows the user to define approach angles and vectors to get the AI around high terrain on an approach. When you look at the template for this file and look at the Runway Operations section it specifically states that EVERY runway has a 'Visual Approach' option standard. The other approach types (LOC/DME, ILS CATI, CATII, CATIII, RNAV) can all be defined per runway. WT3 will try to do this on it's own and gets it right most of the time because it is reading the Navigraph data packs for the airport you are working on.
The "official" installation instructions...video with interruptions and very poor [overview] of the installation process. Thanks for the tips on setting things up though. It would just be nice if the manual went with something more...reliable =.( Software add-ons for X-plane can work several different ways. My primary question for this add-on involved file directories. Do I install directly into X-Plane? Or does this software work more like OrbX? I've been flying simulators for decades but I'm new to X-Plane, and I'm trying to get this working with a couple other add-ons. I'm probably just overthinking things. I'm sure I'll figure it out.
wait a minute, so we have do this for every single airport?!!! That's insane. Is there a setting that will just have a series of flight plans (not necessarily real world).. seems to too impractical to have to keep doing this level of 'configuration' at every single airport. I would like to set it and leave it.
Well yeah. Once you install the software properly, get all the Bluebell planes in and grab the flight route packs for the REal World and Cargo then all you have to do is start World Traffic 3. Make sure you like the slider levels and just click CREATE FLIGHT. If you want to use randomly generated traffic just tick all 4 check boxes. IF you want real world traffic turn off random traffic and turn on the AFRE routes in the region menu. Set it and forget it. :) Your problems will come if the airport doesn't have an taxi route setup in it but I and many in the community are working very rapidly to get routes packages out for many payware airports that are missing this information. Older X-Plane 10 airports were not built with future X-Plane 11 features in mind (shame on THEM). When it all gets setup its EPIC. FINALLY.. Traffic! Everywhere!
No. You set AFRE_Routes region to on ONCE if you are using them. Then when you spawn in, open up the WT3 menu, put in your flight plan info at the top and click Create Flight. That's it. Up and running 60 seconds or less. If you immediately want to load in and have traffic everywhere it won't do that and I am glad it doesn't do that personally because it let's me set my sliders if I need to at large airports so my FPS doesn't go down to 1 FPS. lol
"set AFRE_Routes" was does this mean? I thought this was just a file that needed to be dropped into a folder? No? The quick guide is really not good at all. Very confusing.

This was a pretty awesome and straightforward tutorial. I just moved over from FSX to Xplane and you mentioned something 35:15 that I found interesting. As you said, it is at that point when the ai starts recognizing you and planes start paying attention. Does that mean that if I dont file a flight plan, Then the planes would just basically taxi straight through me? Or in a provoked situation, Would they continue to land if I decided to taxi onto the runway rather than go around?
I have not fully experimented with this. If I recall from the manual if you do not put yourself under WT3 control by using the simple ATC menu the AI planes will not recognize you as a plane they need to avoid and will just go about their business and ignore your position in the world. All I really use it for is to assign myself a runway. I will follow what ever taxi path Pilot2ATC gives me. I just want WT3 to be aware I am an active plane that needs to be avoided. As I play around more with WT3 I'll confirm this behavior.

How about just starting out with a small airport with 1 RW and 5-10 gates? I think that will be what most people will try first. Is there somewhere we can see which airports are ready to use, and where to get already made ground routes and flightplans?
Yes. It is a devs job to do it. You are doing it for more than just WT3. It is considered a requirement to build the taxi and gate network for any airport.

Captain K-man, I just want to say thank you very much for your video it was very informative. Regrettably the product is still not there where you can load the plug in and go. To me from an ease of use standpoint, I'm not really seeing much difference between 2.1 and 3.0. I guess for me the bigest hang up is, the product does not read existing taxi routes and populate the Airport in go. When using X life, at least I'm able to do just that. I did pay for 2.0 back in the day and this latest version of 3.0 for 10 Bucks, but again sorry to be redundant. It seems the product is not changed in the context of plug and play. This is disappointing but that's the way it goes I guess. Too much work has to be done from a user standpoint. Now if you're into that sort of thing that is fine. Hopefully one day we'll have a product that is as I said above plug in and go. So again I want thank you for your video, and best of luck to your endeavors. For some reason I downloaded a ground made operator pack for lax but yet some aircraft are in the wrong places even if it’s set for a different place like American in United and delta in southwests terminals
Hi, first of all thanks for your tutorial videos! I have a Problem and maybe you can help me. I tried to create some parking positions and ATC Routes for PilotPlus-EGHI. The Problem ist after apt file export and loading the sim the parking positions in XP11 are not equal to those I created with WED. Sometimes this happens to me with some sceneries. Did I miss something? Thanks a lot!
Did you remove the old Apt.dat and DSF files before exporting the entire airport scenery back out? This will ensure your edits are there. If you get any errors while trying to export out you must resolve these. WED will usually show you were the problem is.
@@CaptainKMan okay I will try this. After editing the scenery there are no errors. Validation is fine. I just have no Idee why the parking positions are so incorrect. Same Problem at EPWA by DD. Thanks for your help!
Thanks for making the video and it really was a time saver. Need your help with the following. I've copied the serial number from the Org store where I purchased WT3, and placed it in the World Traffic Key text file. The file is listed in the folder, resources - plugins - World Traffic and when I open up WT3, it keeps telling me that I'm in the evaluation mode. Please advise.
The only thing in the txt file should be your serial number. The file should be in your WorldTraffic plugins folder and that should be it. If it is still saying you are in Eval mode there is something wrong with your key and you should contact ClassicJetSims on the ORG via PM with your purchase info and serial key in question. Make sure the key file is named WorldTrafficKey.txt EXACTLY. There should be no leading spaces or spaces after your key number.
Hi guys, i have one question. Departing - arriving route traffic working well, but is it working for all flights in Europe? Becouse the radar shows only depart - arrive route flights.
As long as the airport is setup properly you should see all European commercial and cargo traffic going to and from both your departure and arrival airport.

Most of the default Gateway airports do have gate assignments and taxi route data. Your biggest problem with default is that not all the parking spots will be represented vs. the real airport. For some reason, X-Plane airport devs have this strange idea of just making a few gates spawnable for the player. I am greedy and come from FSX/P3D where EVERY airport you buy and many of the default airports have ALL the gates for the player to use. This needs to be the idea that gets into X-Plane developers' heads. ALL GATES. EVERY TIME. IF the gates are missing info from the gate spawn network the good news is that is really easy to fix in WED. My next tutorial will show you how to get an airport from Zero Aircraft to hundreds spawning with a little bit of elbow grease.
Most excellent vid... have already received comments from users on how helpful it is. I don't know much about youtube, but would you know why the video always seems to start in the middle when I come to this page? Even if I go to the start of video and hit my reload page button in chrome, it jumps to the middle.
If there is a "time_continue" parameter in the URL, it will specify a specific time for the video to start at. Even if you click on the start of the video after it loads, the URL won't change so if you hit the Reload button, it will go back to middle of the video. The link on the World Traffic Updates page has a time continue value of 1341 which is why the video starts in the middle. I didn't think I put a time link in the link I posted on the Org. I thought I cleared it all out and just had the raw link but I did notice when I tested the link it jumped to the middle. If you didn't fix it yet I will go do so now.
Thanks for the video. However, flights in the morning depart east using 7L or 8 and land 7R. Then it will shift directions in the early afternoon so depart and landing is to the west. Obviously if the winds are more than 5knots then this will change.
Feel free to find me a full airport operations plan and I'll be happy to program it into the route package for the airport. :) Those are generally not available to the public because TERRORISM! You have full control of when runways are active with World Traffic 3 but getting our hands on a real world operations plan is next to impossible.

Quick question. I have got the hang of configuring the airport with the gates (watched several of your other vids). All gates assigned the correct airlines and they match up and everything f;lows in and out to the correct gates, except theres always 2 or 3 aircraft that don't belong. Not static aircraft as it can be different every time, airlines that don't belong and not in the list, like Air France at KMHT. These aircraft appear when I load up into the airport and BEFORE I generate the flight plans and spawn the AI in to the airport. Correct aircraft will arrive and taxi through them to the gate creating a combined object of both aircraft. When I resynch, correct aircraft dissapear and reappear, but these bad boys still remain, like they are generated from another source. Does X-Plane by default spawn random static aircraft in to gates or is this some sort of WT weirdness ? Like I said I have definitely looked at the airport files and there is no static, plus they are different each time and WT only shows the correct operators and has the gates all assigned correctly.
Make sure you have ZERO AI Aircraft active in your flight via X-Plane's Flight Setup menu. IN the upper right corner there is a button that says AI Traffic or something like that. If there is a number next to that button then that's how many AI X-Plane is going to make itself. Make sure there are no other AI programs running either like X-Life. WT3 will not make any traffic until you click Create Flight so those AI planes are coming from another source for sure.
Yeah there were no AI selected in the app at all and I've not had any other traffic programs at all. I must have screwed something up in the installation of WT and/or when I was editing the airport. Proper mystery. Decided a clean install of everything was the order of the day. I see what you mean, you kind of get in to this sim. A lot of work, but the results pay off. when set up right it does everything that little bit nbetter than P3D. I'm getting more converted :)
So heres what is happening and I totally do not understand why. I did a complete clean out of everything, cleaned out the registry and re-installed on a different SSD altogether. Just installed bone stock XP11.11 Got the latest version of my fave airport (official XP airport) and installed it. This has some defined gates. I load in to the airport (though it does the same with any airport) and AI craft spawn in to some of the defined gates. THere are NO AI craft selected at all in the aircraft AI menu, but what is spawning are the flyable aircraft, like the MD-82, ASK21, BB58 etc etc. THe 'show aircraft without AI support; tick box is unchecked. THe list of AI craft available is the same list as the flyable aircraft. This is ridiculous. This is all without any installation of WT3 or any traces of it anywhere. Right out of the gate XP is doing this.
1) In your graphics options 'Draw Parked/Static Aircraft' should be unchecked. 2) In your Flight Configuration menu at the top near the middle-right is a button that says AI Aircraft. Click on that. If ANY aircraft are listed in the AI Aircraft menu that pops up click on the X's next to their names to get rid of them. You should see NO MORE AI aircraft at all unless they are baked into the scenery itself which then you have to use Overlay Editor to delete these. Older airports (and even some new airports) are loaded with Static AI that people put into their scenery by hand. This is no longer necessary in X-Plane 11 and I wish people would stop doing it or at least release a Non-Static AI version of their airport.
Drewdzwiski final wised up. I just picked up their Version 2.0 of New York Airports X and their new installer asks you if you want static AI or not loaded. THANK YOU DD for finally paying attention! A lot of us don't need or want static AI littering our airport. We want LIVING traffic provided by X-Life or World Traffic 3.
Just go to Classic Jet Sims website to get the demo. Follow the instructions on installing the AI planes and liveries. The X-Plane.org forums has the forum for WT3.
Apology for my nooby question, but would this plugin be useful for me if i'm only flying online on vatsim? Would it makes sense to mix online planes with WT3? Thanks
Mmmm.. that's up to you. Your airport will certainly be fuller than an online flight but you will have AI running over other planes and you will lose some performance from all the CPU hungry AI running around. I personally don't bother with online flying anymore since I have WT3 and Pilot2ATC. To many egos to deal with. The experience left a bad taste in my mouth.
I am for certain but I think the answer is YES, to some degree, they will work. I think LR made it a requirement that all Gateway submitted airports MUST have a taxi network. The only real problem I think you will face with Default airports is a lack of all the proper gates. A lot of airport devs only put in a handful of gates for the player to spawn at rather doing what they should do and putting every single gate that exists at the airport in there so you may need to do a little WED work still if you want more gates with more traffic potential at your default airport.
First turn off the Draw Parked Planes in game. Then you are going to need Overlay Editor. You need to go into the airport's file in Overlay Editor and delete the static planes then save and exit Overlay Editor. Your work is done.
A common theme seems to emerge with X-Plane... nothing ever seems to be easy to install! I'm going to be building a new PC soon, and I'm actually dreading the day I have to set aside to re-install X-Plane and all its addons!
I noticed you are using Pilot2ATC. Do you use this in conjunction with World Traffic 3? If so, do you still tell WT3's ATC that you're taking off, what runway, etc.? Or do you entirely just use Pilot2ATC? Im looking for a good ATC to use with WT3, even the default with X-Plane if I have to. I just hate WT3's lack of voice and ATC with traffic.
Pilot2ATC does not interact with WT3... YET. Both Chris (WT3) and Dave (P2A) are working together as I type to get both programs to talk to each other. Pilot2ATC is the very best ATC software you can get. X-Plane ATC, 124th ATC, WT3 ATC all kind of blow in comparison to what Pilot2ATC is capable of doing.
I use X-Plane 11 all of the time on my mac. So I was excited to enhance my experience with this payware add-on. However, I'm having difficulty loading in with my classicjetsimutilts folder. If any other mac users could help, that would be great!
The WT Installer does not automatically install to the XPlane Directory. It defaults to the C drive, to its own directory. I imagine this is fine. But there are no instructions indicating that the user must change the directory while running the Installer.
No. It's not fine. This is an X-Plane plugin and ALL X-plane plugins require you to point at the X-Plane install directory. Some installers do this automatically, some do not. The manual has detailed instructions on this. My video assumes you know the basics of installing plug-ins for X-Plane and is not covered in the scope of this tutorial. You need to uninstall and re-install, pointing the installer to the root of your X-Plane 11 directory.
It seems next to impossible to get any traffic at night. I know it's trying to be realistic but 1 plane in hours starting at 7 pm at KAVL seems nuts. I like to fly at night. How can I boost up the air traffic at night at airports. I did KPHX the other night at 8pm and saw 2 planes land and one take off in 2 hours time. WTF ?

Is this WT3 only jets. Everybody uploading videos about versions WT2 & 3 only make videos with jets. I've searched google for a list of aircraft type but I can't find any. I am not going to get this if it's only for jets.
Heavy Jets, Jets, Turboprops, GA Props, MD-80's, Regional Jets are all represented. If all you fly is GA aircraft at small fields, WT3 has got you covered.
I have seen C172's, B58's, King Air 300's while using WT3. There are more as well. Go here forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/40134-world-traffic-3-ai-aircraft/ and then look at the WTC aircraft.txt file. It's in the description area. It will show you all aircraft used.

I would send that inquiry to Bluebell himself on X-Plane.org. I believe the answer is YES, you can. I am pretty sure he didn't do all 2000 paint jobs himself (or maybe he did LIKE A BOSS!). :) I haven't even started looking into that feature yet as I am satisfied with what comes with all of Bluebell's aircraft packs already for commercial airline flying which is what I do most often.

You shouldn't even have those if you are using WT3. Don't forget to download the AFRE and Cargo files from ClassicJetSim's website. It's in the UPDATE section. Put those folders in your RouteFiles folder. The next time you start X-Plane you will see the AFRE and Cargo packs in your Region menu.
I deleted all the files in the RoutesFiles folder and downloaded the AFRE ND CARGO filed from the update section in the ClassicJetSim's website and still my sim shows KAITAK, LOWI AND WASHINGTON in the regions menu
Actually nvm, it did take a while to read that I replaced the folders, apparently, because it read them now, another issue, it says Aircraft Definition and Object files not found, I cant see any planes except for props, no airliners. thoughts ?
The only thing I can think of is you didn't unpack the aircraft properly into those folders. Double check that you pulled the files OUT of the airplane zip files and didn't just copy the folder inside the ZIP file into there. All the lose files should be in the AircraftObjects and AircraftTypes. There should be NO folders inside those two folders, only the loose aircraft files.
Overlay Editor will let you removed static AI from airports that have them. This is recommended if you have WT3 as you no longer want static AI as you have living AI now.
so i got to enable/disable regions and nothing shows up. i have the folders where you said to put them. any ideas? Nevermind i had to resync for it to generate. ugh what a headache
Yeah I got it working.. Not bad once it is all set up. I just wish ATC could communicate with it. I get traffic running in front of me or trying to take off when i am on final..

Another thing, I don't have the third box like in your video "Augment User-Defined Flights at Airport with Auto-Gen Flights". I got 4 boxes in the Flight Setup window which is strange. I also got two flight setup windows, one is the normal flight setup and the other one is GA/Military Flight Setup. Its quite confusing. I hope you are able to help me futher!
That's because Greg updated WT3 with new features right after I made this video. A lot of people wanted more GA traffic so he put in the feature to get more. You can ignore the second window. Just leave everything else on Auto. Since you are in Demo mode I would recommend using Auto-generated traffic. Turn off any Regions and make sure all 4 of those boxes are checked green. You did get all the Bluebell aircraft installed correctly? You should be able to just click Create Flight and go. I never used the demo mode. I just took the plunge and bought WT2 out right and then paid the 10 bucks to upgrade.
Yes I put the folders AircraftObjects and AircraftTypes of all the Bluebell aircraft in the right place --> X-Plane 11/ClassicJetSimUtils/WorldTraffic. Okay, so now I checked and all the 4 boxes are green, all regions turned off and I could only see one single AI plane on the WT radar... the airport was still empty I'm using a default airport btw
Yeah not to sure about how the demo chooses traffic. I never used the demo. I just grabbed WT2 without question. WT3 is really good! Provided the airport is setup for it.
I follow every step with installation few times and I cant get my airports to populate after I press create flights. I did put the activation file in the right folder as you show in the video and transfer all the planes to aircraft types and models. My airports still empty.. please help me .. I cant get this program to work.

kman i figured it out, it had to do with my resolution settings. Now I just wish there was more ground traffic at airports. Seems more aesthetic than functional at this point.

heyyy great airport. i just bought worls traffic and following your video to set it up correctly but when I got to the point to ENABLE/DISABLE REGIONS it is empty no AFRE Real traffic or Cargo.. and I tried KEWR Newark airport and JFK airport. any help? thank you
If you see nothing in there, verify that you have the folders for those route packages where they should be. If they are there, all you have to do is open up the options menu and click on Re-Sync. Wait for it to do its thing then you will see the Region folders appear. Turn on the ones you need and away you go.

The built in WT3 ATC is.... for lack of kinder word.. garbage....and Chris knows it is garbage. There are 3 major updates he is working on at the moment; 1) Integration with Pilot2ATC, the best ATC software you can get for XP11. I use it and would use nothing else. 2) Fix the horrendously bad separation issues AI have right now. They are really bad at spacing themselves out for landing and 3) To overhaul the WT3 ATC to make it useful for folks who don't want to use Pilot2ATC.

Anyone using KSLC MisterX salt lake city? Does it require modifications out of the box? I generate flights and i get about 2 aircraft flying at a distance total.. after about 2 minutes. Did the ground routes and clicked create flights (and enabled realtraffic and all other regions in the region menu).
I'll scan it. When I played with it I had a crap ton of traffic at the gates and they were taxiing around all over the place. I'll double check. MisterX is pretty good about making sure his stuff works.

You are sure the AFRE_Routes folder is lit screen in the Region selection menu (and Cargo Tabular should be red. Don't want that on with AFRE routes on)?
No. WT3 has two menus. The one that sets up the flight by creating routes and generating taxi networks for its use then the main program menu which you will need to assign a hot key too to open. I use F12 on mine. You'll want to open up this main menu and go down to the REGIONS menu and press enter. Once inside the Regions menu, if you installed AFRE and Cargo_Tabular correctly, you will see those two folders. High AFRE and press enter to turn it green which means it is armed/selected. If you are going to fly with AFRE you don't need the Cargo one turned on. That is only if you are using Autogenerated traffic. There are several hot keys you will want to assign such as the Radar On/Off toggle (I use F9).
There is a cost for having AI aircraft. The more AI the bigger the cost. On my 5 year old PC though I am able to stay above 30 FPS even at major airports like KDFW with 75% traffic turned on. :) SO the answer is, there is some but its worth it!
i cant seem to update my world traffic 3 aircraft i downloaded ALL the files and followed instructions but i still get aircraft missing errors wht am i doing wrong
Great Video. Just bought WT3. Under Enable/Disable Regions. I just see the arrow. HAs anyone seen this? I can't enable ARFE Real Traffic to be enabled.
What arrow? You should see AFRE_Real_Traffic and Cargo_Tabular. You should be able to use your arrow keys to highly AFRE routes and enter to turn them on. (They will light green).

I would like to thank you for this video. It explained things well and anyone that gives their time to do this deserves a big thank you. That said I have nothing showing up in the regions listing despite the packs being in the correct location. I'm sure I'll figure it out. I am a hardcore P3D user, but I was looking forward to having a bit of fun with X-Plane, its not turning out that wau unfortunately. Given the fact I have just spent the same amount of money on this traffic package as I did on UT Live on P3D, it really feels like going back to DOS 6.22 after living with Windows for 25 years. Its convoluted to setup and the whole debacle with every airport is just insane, I'm sorry there's no reason V11 should have been released without traffic paths in airports. FS98 from 20 years ago had ATC driven AI traffic , gates and taxiways routes were integrated in to the platform. Even the interface in this addon is diabolical and the installation process should be one installation program and automated with a user friendly interface. I so wanted to love this but it's alpha test level software that's been released as payware.
Here's the big problem with X-Plane and the way it is setup. Austin developed it to be a flight engineering tool at first, not really a 'simulator' per say. That was LOOOOONG ago but this mentality has persisted. Flight Model! Flight model! Flight model! Dude... your flight model... is GREAT! STOP! You have given Airplane designers all they need to make great payware quality aircraft.. ENOUGH... dude.... ATC, AI Traffic, Weather SDK and VR... THIS... should be your ONLY goals right now... but nope.... we continue. Up until X-Plane 10.51, Gate information wasn't a thing you could really put in your airport. Taxi Routes aren't integrated with taxi lines like FSX but I actually like that. It gives better control. What I don't like is drawing all the taxi lines and then having to draw all the Taxi Routes over them. There needs to be a feature in WED (used for making airports) that let's you select the taxi lines and with the click of a button 'Generate Taxi Routes from Taxi Lines'. Done. Every airport would have routes if that feature was available because a lot of airport designers are still stuck in XP10 mindset... they don't want to have to draw taxi routes and put gate information in place.... Now as for your regions being blank.. that is an easy fix. Before you setup a flight, open up the Key Command Menu for WT3 and go down and Select Re-Sync. Now go back to your Regions menu. All your regions should be there now. You only have to do that one time. Now turn on AFRE routes, turn off Random Traffic Gen in the Flight Setup menu and away you go. Trust me.. I know your frustration... that being said... X-Plane, to me, is much better for how I fly... All the Ortho you could want with autogen and vector data that you could possibly want.. For FREE. That stuff costs Hundreds of Dollars in P3D... I know.. .I bought it all.. The ORBX Vector, Landclass stuff... all the MEgaSceneryEarth 2.0 states for the US... I have spent thousands on P3D.... but.. X-Plane has won me over. P3D/FSX is the flight sim for people who don't want full control over their simulator.. who would rather just turn it on and go. X-Plane is far more flexible to the person like me that wants to customize the experience without shelling out gobs of money on stuff that is 100% free with X-Plane... THIS #Freeware though comes at a price... it makes Payware developers like REX, ORBX and all the Airport Designers very slow to want to come over here because they are competing against FREE and that's a hard thing to fight.
Well thank you for your comments, you have convinced me to keep going. I'm very tech savy and actually enjoy tweaking things. I just ended up so frustrated yesterday with this......I went back and flew a CRJ in VR in P3D and now I'm coming back for another go....lol...I hate things beating me. I do appreciate you giving me the tips to proceed too !! That's awesome. Ironically I too have also spent $1000's on P3D. Some of those purchases turned out to be hype or way too resource hungry. An ironic example is weather . I went down the whole Active Sky route, all versions and I've ended up back with FSRealWX with Rex clouds. It does a fine job and not resource hungry...plus I can use it with X-Plane too. So I totally get where you are coming from. I'm a long time beta tester with FlyInside and feel their VR solution is better than the X-Plane native solution of using Steam VR, which is simply awful. I get their rationale for doing that, but Steam VR is still toy town at the moment.
Currently like you I use Pilot2ATC and also dislike VatSim. I'm a real world PP and getting patronized by an amateur virtual controller for using verbage you use in actual real world operations from the very same airport in real life was just hilarious. So here's my situation, I use P3D for what it was designed to be used for. For real world practice simulation. I do frly a CRJ700 here and there on it for fun because its a pretty challenging aircraft. I uses the full suite of Orbx, weather , Pilot2ATC, A2A 180, LiveAI, Navigraph , fsAerodata, have some accurate airports for my area (Boston/Manchester NH/NE corridor). I use all this in VR. I want to achieve the same thing in X-Plane and I'm slowly finding certain things but everything seems so fragmented and convoluted, Like you said the fact a lot is free does really justify a bit more effort on my part. Any pointers you can give me to achieve what I'm trying to do would be awesome. I see Aerosoft have released a CRJ200, I have that on my radar. But with regards to scenery, I have no clue and I'm scratching my head a bit. Again, I really do thank you for taking the time to respond and realizing where my frustrations were coming from, even though my delivery was a bit OTT. I really do want to get on with X-Plane because the flight model is great....a cliche I know, but its true and pretty important if you are practicing say a cross wind landing on a runway that in real life is like landing on the surface of the moon. I love the runways following the terrain in XP, even though its not perfect. The hill on RW35 at KMHT is exactly what its like in real life. There's no such thing as an actual flat runway in like in FSX/P3D and you get bounced all over the place in reality in a light aircraft. However the developer should have realized long ago that the perfect flight model also include the workload of flying the aircraft, carrying out check lists, dealing with ATC, looking out for traffic and dealing with changing winds all at the same time. That's a real world flight model !! :)
I will also say that I just purchesed the most gorgeous KMHT addon airport for P3d that has just been released to find AI aircraft were just appearing and disappearing. The developer had not done any taxi-routes or gate assignments whatsoever. THere were over 300 disconnects. When confronted they said that would be done for V1.1 . I spent 3 or 4 hours doing this for them and sent them the updated airport.bgl . Now its a truly perfect airport with the correct operations when used with something like UTLive. So...its not a problem alone to XP if the truth be told, though it may be more prominent because XP has only just been given a more realistic underlying AI functionality.
Thanks a lot for this helpful video. As a Mac user of the previous WT2 I am contemplating the arrival of the Mac plugin of WT3 eagerly. Meanwhile some questions. Is it possible to use the ground routes that were once created in WT2 or are they incompatible? I've been through the tedious job of creating my ground routes for Frankfurt EDDF with the help of Massimo68's ground route editor. Do you know if that editor will still work or is it a must to go through WED with creating a taxi network and then ground routes? I noticed the AI aircraft do not cast shadows. Have you turned shadows off for the purpose of the video or does WT3 AI traffic not produce shadows?

Captain K-Man - WT 3 does add some realism to X-Plane and I find myself spending time watching the departures and arrivals since it's so cool. The problem that I'm now facing is low frame rates which is mainly due to a 3 - monitor set-up. Before installing WT3 my frame rates averaged 25-35 at some of the dense airports. Last night, during a flight from EGLL to EIDW, my frame rate before departing was barely 15-19 with WT3. Once I hit my cruising altitude it jumped up to 24-29 with most of the rendering options set at medium. I've also adjusted my WT3 sliders to bare minimum settings and computer hardware includes: Intel i7-6700 CPU @ 3.40 GHz, 32 GB of RAM, Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti and 3 Asus 24" monitors. I moved from FSX to X-Plane mainly due to the 3 monitor set-up option which allows you to set-up multiple monitors with no graphic distortion. Thanks for your help!
Simply put, you are asking your system to do too much. Even with a 1080ti (I have one too and 3 24" ASUS as well) you are straining the system to the max because the CPU is having to help render objects across 3 monitors now as well, not just the video card. All that stress on your CPU with WT3 running on top of it (WT3 is very much CPU intense. Doesn't matter how awesome your video card is) is going to drag you down. I only run my sim on the center monitor personally and use the left for Pilot2ATC and the right for Navigraph Sim Charts with moderately high settings in both XP and WT3 and never fall under 30 FPS. A 7700k/8700k may help a little bit but not much. Triple wide is nice but the sacrifice of performance isn't worth it for me.
Thanks for the prompt response and I'm probably going go with a similar setup. It's no fun flying a JarDesign A320 at 19 FPS during take-off.

Geat video! K-Man, this addon is using same SIDs and STARs as at charts. But does WT3 support VISUAL arrivals & departures, as turns around terrain at Madeira, Insbruk, Paro, etc. ?
Aircraft not equipped with the proper equipment will always use a Visual approach. If the airport has some funky arrival rules because of terrain features WT3 can be made appear of it by setting up a custom Airport Operations file for the airport in question. This allows the user to define approach angles and vectors to get the AI around high terrain on an approach. When you look at the template for this file and look at the Runway Operations section it specifically states that EVERY runway has a 'Visual Approach' option standard. The other approach types (LOC/DME, ILS CATI, CATII, CATIII, RNAV) can all be defined per runway. WT3 will try to do this on it's own and gets it right most of the time because it is reading the Navigraph data packs for the airport you are working on.

Software add-ons for X-plane can work several different ways. My primary question for this add-on involved file directories. Do I install directly into X-Plane? Or does this software work more like OrbX?

wait a minute, so we have do this for every single airport?!!! That's insane. Is there a setting that will just have a series of flight plans (not necessarily real world).. seems to too impractical to have to keep doing this level of 'configuration' at every single airport. I would like to set it and leave it.
Well yeah. Once you install the software properly, get all the Bluebell planes in and grab the flight route packs for the REal World and Cargo then all you have to do is start World Traffic 3. Make sure you like the slider levels and just click CREATE FLIGHT. If you want to use randomly generated traffic just tick all 4 check boxes. IF you want real world traffic turn off random traffic and turn on the AFRE routes in the region menu. Set it and forget it. :) Your problems will come if the airport doesn't have an taxi route setup in it but I and many in the community are working very rapidly to get routes packages out for many payware airports that are missing this information. Older X-Plane 10 airports were not built with future X-Plane 11 features in mind (shame on THEM). When it all gets setup its EPIC. FINALLY.. Traffic! Everywhere!
So each time you Do have to go through the "Create flight" click and enabling regions (IE: realtraffic enable if red)? No automated process?
No. You set AFRE_Routes region to on ONCE if you are using them. Then when you spawn in, open up the WT3 menu, put in your flight plan info at the top and click Create Flight. That's it. Up and running 60 seconds or less. If you immediately want to load in and have traffic everywhere it won't do that and I am glad it doesn't do that personally because it let's me set my sliders if I need to at large airports so my FPS doesn't go down to 1 FPS. lol

This was a pretty awesome and straightforward tutorial. I just moved over from FSX to Xplane and you mentioned something 35:15 that I found interesting. As you said, it is at that point when the ai starts recognizing you and planes start paying attention. Does that mean that if I dont file a flight plan, Then the planes would just basically taxi straight through me? Or in a provoked situation, Would they continue to land if I decided to taxi onto the runway rather than go around?
I have not fully experimented with this. If I recall from the manual if you do not put yourself under WT3 control by using the simple ATC menu the AI planes will not recognize you as a plane they need to avoid and will just go about their business and ignore your position in the world. All I really use it for is to assign myself a runway. I will follow what ever taxi path Pilot2ATC gives me. I just want WT3 to be aware I am an active plane that needs to be avoided. As I play around more with WT3 I'll confirm this behavior.

I don't think you need to enter a flight plan into the setup just to see if WT3 is working and showing flights arriving/departing...

Yes. It is a devs job to do it. You are doing it for more than just WT3. It is considered a requirement to build the taxi and gate network for any airport.
Cant get it too work, after creating the ground routes & created the flights im getting errors like couldnt find aircraft and stuff. I followed your tutorial but cant get it too work properly, any solution? Thanks!
Captain K-man, I just want to say thank you very much for your video it was very informative. Regrettably the product is still not there where you can load the plug in and go. To me from an ease of use standpoint, I'm not really seeing much difference between 2.1 and 3.0. I guess for me the bigest hang up is, the product does not read existing taxi routes and populate the Airport in go. When using X life, at least I'm able to do just that. I did pay for 2.0 back in the day and this latest version of 3.0 for 10 Bucks, but again sorry to be redundant. It seems the product is not changed in the context of plug and play. This is disappointing but that's the way it goes I guess. Too much work has to be done from a user standpoint. Now if you're into that sort of thing that is fine. Hopefully one day we'll have a product that is as I said above plug in and go. So again I want thank you for your video, and best of luck to your endeavors.

Hey bud, amazing video, but for a first time setup with the installer etc. it won't let me hit the install key after making sure everything is a-ok with the keys and whatnot. Is this a common issue? And if so is there an easy fix?
For some reason I downloaded a ground made operator pack for lax but yet some aircraft are in the wrong places even if it’s set for a different place like American in United and delta in southwests terminals

Hi, first of all thanks for your tutorial videos! I have a Problem and maybe you can help me. I tried to create some parking positions and ATC Routes for PilotPlus-EGHI. The Problem ist after apt file export and loading the sim the parking positions in XP11 are not equal to those I created with WED. Sometimes this happens to me with some sceneries. Did I miss something? Thanks a lot!
Did you remove the old Apt.dat and DSF files before exporting the entire airport scenery back out? This will ensure your edits are there. If you get any errors while trying to export out you must resolve these. WED will usually show you were the problem is.

Thanks for making the video and it really was a time saver. Need your help with the following. I've copied the serial number from the Org store where I purchased WT3, and placed it in the World Traffic Key text file. The file is listed in the folder, resources - plugins - World Traffic and when I open up WT3, it keeps telling me that I'm in the evaluation mode. Please advise.
The only thing in the txt file should be your serial number. The file should be in your WorldTraffic plugins folder and that should be it. If it is still saying you are in Eval mode there is something wrong with your key and you should contact ClassicJetSims on the ORG via PM with your purchase info and serial key in question. Make sure the key file is named WorldTrafficKey.txt EXACTLY. There should be no leading spaces or spaces after your key number.

Hi guys, i have one question. Departing - arriving route traffic working well, but is it working for all flights in Europe? Becouse the radar shows only depart - arrive route flights.
As long as the airport is setup properly you should see all European commercial and cargo traffic going to and from both your departure and arrival airport.
SO how do you update Navigraph for world traffic - you showed us the manager but not how to add navigraph to world traffic? So I'm confused.

Most of the default Gateway airports do have gate assignments and taxi route data. Your biggest problem with default is that not all the parking spots will be represented vs. the real airport. For some reason, X-Plane airport devs have this strange idea of just making a few gates spawnable for the player. I am greedy and come from FSX/P3D where EVERY airport you buy and many of the default airports have ALL the gates for the player to use. This needs to be the idea that gets into X-Plane developers' heads. ALL GATES. EVERY TIME. IF the gates are missing info from the gate spawn network the good news is that is really easy to fix in WED. My next tutorial will show you how to get an airport from Zero Aircraft to hundreds spawning with a little bit of elbow grease.
Most excellent vid... have already received comments from users on how helpful it is. I don't know much about youtube, but would you know why the video always seems to start in the middle when I come to this page? Even if I go to the start of video and hit my reload page button in chrome, it jumps to the middle.
If there is a "time_continue" parameter in the URL, it will specify a specific time for the video to start at. Even if you click on the start of the video after it loads, the URL won't change so if you hit the Reload button, it will go back to middle of the video. The link on the World Traffic Updates page has a time continue value of 1341 which is why the video starts in the middle.

I just bought it following your tutorial but when I reload xplane there is no traffic? do I have to setup traffic everytime I load xplane?
Thanks for the video. However, flights in the morning depart east using 7L or 8 and land 7R. Then it will shift directions in the early afternoon so depart and landing is to the west. Obviously if the winds are more than 5knots then this will change.
Feel free to find me a full airport operations plan and I'll be happy to program it into the route package for the airport. :) Those are generally not available to the public because TERRORISM! You have full control of when runways are active with World Traffic 3 but getting our hands on a real world operations plan is next to impossible.

Quick question. I have got the hang of configuring the airport with the gates (watched several of your other vids). All gates assigned the correct airlines and they match up and everything f;lows in and out to the correct gates, except theres always 2 or 3 aircraft that don't belong. Not static aircraft as it can be different every time, airlines that don't belong and not in the list, like Air France at KMHT. These aircraft appear when I load up into the airport and BEFORE I generate the flight plans and spawn the AI in to the airport. Correct aircraft will arrive and taxi through them to the gate creating a combined object of both aircraft. When I resynch, correct aircraft dissapear and reappear, but these bad boys still remain, like they are generated from another source. Does X-Plane by default spawn random static aircraft in to gates or is this some sort of WT weirdness ? Like I said I have definitely looked at the airport files and there is no static, plus they are different each time and WT only shows the correct operators and has the gates all assigned correctly.
Make sure you have ZERO AI Aircraft active in your flight via X-Plane's Flight Setup menu. IN the upper right corner there is a button that says AI Traffic or something like that. If there is a number next to that button then that's how many AI X-Plane is going to make itself. Make sure there are no other AI programs running either like X-Life. WT3 will not make any traffic until you click Create Flight so those AI planes are coming from another source for sure.
Yeah there were no AI selected in the app at all and I've not had any other traffic programs at all. I must have screwed something up in the installation of WT and/or when I was editing the airport. Proper mystery. Decided a clean install of everything was the order of the day. I see what you mean, you kind of get in to this sim. A lot of work, but the results pay off. when set up right it does everything that little bit nbetter than P3D. I'm getting more converted :)
So heres what is happening and I totally do not understand why. I did a complete clean out of everything, cleaned out the registry and re-installed on a different SSD altogether. Just installed bone stock XP11.11 Got the latest version of my fave airport (official XP airport) and installed it. This has some defined gates. I load in to the airport (though it does the same with any airport) and AI craft spawn in to some of the defined gates. THere are NO AI craft selected at all in the aircraft AI menu, but what is spawning are the flyable aircraft, like the MD-82, ASK21, BB58 etc etc. THe 'show aircraft without AI support; tick box is unchecked. THe list of AI craft available is the same list as the flyable aircraft. This is ridiculous. This is all without any installation of WT3 or any traces of it anywhere. Right out of the gate XP is doing this.
1) In your graphics options 'Draw Parked/Static Aircraft' should be unchecked. 2) In your Flight Configuration menu at the top near the middle-right is a button that says AI Aircraft. Click on that. If ANY aircraft are listed in the AI Aircraft menu that pops up click on the X's next to their names to get rid of them. You should see NO MORE AI aircraft at all unless they are baked into the scenery itself which then you have to use Overlay Editor to delete these. Older airports (and even some new airports) are loaded with Static AI that people put into their scenery by hand. This is no longer necessary in X-Plane 11 and I wish people would stop doing it or at least release a Non-Static AI version of their airport.
Drewdzwiski final wised up. I just picked up their Version 2.0 of New York Airports X and their new installer asks you if you want static AI or not loaded. THANK YOU DD for finally paying attention! A lot of us don't need or want static AI littering our airport. We want LIVING traffic provided by X-Life or World Traffic 3.

Just go to Classic Jet Sims website to get the demo. Follow the instructions on installing the AI planes and liveries. The X-Plane.org forums has the forum for WT3.
Apology for my nooby question, but would this plugin be useful for me if i'm only flying online on vatsim? Would it makes sense to mix online planes with WT3? Thanks
Mmmm.. that's up to you. Your airport will certainly be fuller than an online flight but you will have AI running over other planes and you will lose some performance from all the CPU hungry AI running around. I personally don't bother with online flying anymore since I have WT3 and Pilot2ATC. To many egos to deal with. The experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

I am for certain but I think the answer is YES, to some degree, they will work. I think LR made it a requirement that all Gateway submitted airports MUST have a taxi network. The only real problem I think you will face with Default airports is a lack of all the proper gates. A lot of airport devs only put in a handful of gates for the player to spawn at rather doing what they should do and putting every single gate that exists at the airport in there so you may need to do a little WED work still if you want more gates with more traffic potential at your default airport.

First turn off the Draw Parked Planes in game. Then you are going to need Overlay Editor. You need to go into the airport's file in Overlay Editor and delete the static planes then save and exit Overlay Editor. Your work is done.

A common theme seems to emerge with X-Plane... nothing ever seems to be easy to install! I'm going to be building a new PC soon, and I'm actually dreading the day I have to set aside to re-install X-Plane and all its addons!

I noticed you are using Pilot2ATC. Do you use this in conjunction with World Traffic 3? If so, do you still tell WT3's ATC that you're taking off, what runway, etc.? Or do you entirely just use Pilot2ATC? Im looking for a good ATC to use with WT3, even the default with X-Plane if I have to. I just hate WT3's lack of voice and ATC with traffic.
Pilot2ATC does not interact with WT3... YET. Both Chris (WT3) and Dave (P2A) are working together as I type to get both programs to talk to each other. Pilot2ATC is the very best ATC software you can get. X-Plane ATC, 124th ATC, WT3 ATC all kind of blow in comparison to what Pilot2ATC is capable of doing.
do you have to regenarate routes everytime we play even if its a airport we already once did a autogen?
You only need to do route generation once per airport unless you change the airport's parking positions in WED.

Please use an audio compressor or limiter. It will make the audio not pop out as much when you talk louder.
The WT Installer does not automatically install to the XPlane Directory. It defaults to the C drive, to its own directory. I imagine this is fine. But there are no instructions indicating that the user must change the directory while running the Installer.
No. It's not fine. This is an X-Plane plugin and ALL X-plane plugins require you to point at the X-Plane install directory. Some installers do this automatically, some do not. The manual has detailed instructions on this. My video assumes you know the basics of installing plug-ins for X-Plane and is not covered in the scope of this tutorial. You need to uninstall and re-install, pointing the installer to the root of your X-Plane 11 directory.

It seems next to impossible to get any traffic at night. I know it's trying to be realistic but 1 plane in hours starting at 7 pm at KAVL seems nuts. I like to fly at night. How can I boost up the air traffic at night at airports. I did KPHX the other night at 8pm and saw 2 planes land and one take off in 2 hours time. WTF ?

First go to flight configuration the in the top right corner there is a customize option look slightly to the left and u will see a box that says AI aircraft click that and click the x next to all aircraft

Is this WT3 only jets. Everybody uploading videos about versions WT2 & 3 only make videos with jets. I've searched google for a list of aircraft type but I can't find any. I am not going to get this if it's only for jets.
Heavy Jets, Jets, Turboprops, GA Props, MD-80's, Regional Jets are all represented. If all you fly is GA aircraft at small fields, WT3 has got you covered.
I have seen C172's, B58's, King Air 300's while using WT3. There are more as well. Go here forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/40134-world-traffic-3-ai-aircraft/ and then look at the WTC aircraft.txt file. It's in the description area. It will show you all aircraft used.

I would send that inquiry to Bluebell himself on X-Plane.org. I believe the answer is YES, you can. I am pretty sure he didn't do all 2000 paint jobs himself (or maybe he did LIKE A BOSS!). :) I haven't even started looking into that feature yet as I am satisfied with what comes with all of Bluebell's aircraft packs already for commercial airline flying which is what I do most often.

Hey I don't have the AFRE real traffic or cargo turbular. ...all have on that section is Kaitak, LOWI and Washington
You shouldn't even have those if you are using WT3. Don't forget to download the AFRE and Cargo files from ClassicJetSim's website. It's in the UPDATE section. Put those folders in your RouteFiles folder. The next time you start X-Plane you will see the AFRE and Cargo packs in your Region menu.
I deleted all the files in the RoutesFiles folder and downloaded the AFRE ND CARGO filed from the update section in the ClassicJetSim's website and still my sim shows KAITAK, LOWI AND WASHINGTON in the regions menu
Actually nvm, it did take a while to read that I replaced the folders, apparently, because it read them now, another issue, it says Aircraft Definition and Object files not found, I cant see any planes except for props, no airliners. thoughts ?
The only thing I can think of is you didn't unpack the aircraft properly into those folders. Double check that you pulled the files OUT of the airplane zip files and didn't just copy the folder inside the ZIP file into there. All the lose files should be in the AircraftObjects and AircraftTypes. There should be NO folders inside those two folders, only the loose aircraft files.

Overlay Editor will let you removed static AI from airports that have them. This is recommended if you have WT3 as you no longer want static AI as you have living AI now.

DaicaQuang go to ClassicJetSims website and download full installer. It runs in demo mode automatically without a key. But only 15 flights will load.

Another thing, I don't have the third box like in your video "Augment User-Defined Flights at Airport with Auto-Gen Flights". I got 4 boxes in the Flight Setup window which is strange.
I also got two flight setup windows, one is the normal flight setup and the other one is GA/Military Flight Setup. Its quite confusing.

That's because Greg updated WT3 with new features right after I made this video. A lot of people wanted more GA traffic so he put in the feature to get more. You can ignore the second window. Just leave everything else on Auto. Since you are in Demo mode I would recommend using Auto-generated traffic. Turn off any Regions and make sure all 4 of those boxes are checked green. You did get all the Bluebell aircraft installed correctly? You should be able to just click Create Flight and go. I never used the demo mode. I just took the plunge and bought WT2 out right and then paid the 10 bucks to upgrade.
Yes I put the folders AircraftObjects and AircraftTypes of all the Bluebell aircraft in the right place --> X-Plane 11/ClassicJetSimUtils/WorldTraffic.
Okay, so now I checked and all the 4 boxes are green, all regions turned off and I could only see one single AI plane on the WT radar... the airport was still empty

Yeah not to sure about how the demo chooses traffic. I never used the demo. I just grabbed WT2 without question. WT3 is really good! Provided the airport is setup for it.

Yes but the airport you are auto-generating for has to have a functional taxi route built into the Apt.dat file for the airport.

If you see nothing in there, verify that you have the folders for those route packages where they should be. If they are there, all you have to do is open up the options menu and click on Re-Sync. Wait for it to do its thing then you will see the Region folders appear. Turn on the ones you need and away you go.

The built in WT3 ATC is.... for lack of kinder word.. garbage....and Chris knows it is garbage. There are 3 major updates he is working on at the moment; 1) Integration with Pilot2ATC, the best ATC software you can get for XP11. I use it and would use nothing else. 2) Fix the horrendously bad separation issues AI have right now. They are really bad at spacing themselves out for landing and 3) To overhaul the WT3 ATC to make it useful for folks who don't want to use Pilot2ATC.

Anyone using KSLC MisterX salt lake city? Does it require modifications out of the box? I generate flights and i get about 2 aircraft flying at a distance total.. after about 2 minutes. Did the ground routes and clicked create flights (and enabled realtraffic and all other regions in the region menu).
I'll scan it. When I played with it I had a crap ton of traffic at the gates and they were taxiing around all over the place. I'll double check. MisterX is pretty good about making sure his stuff works.

When I place the AFRE folders where they belong I then start X Plane, Unchecked the box where itll only load AFRE files in the setup and then no airliners show up at thee airport, why is that?
You are sure the AFRE_Routes folder is lit screen in the Region selection menu (and Cargo Tabular should be red. Don't want that on with AFRE routes on)?

No. WT3 has two menus. The one that sets up the flight by creating routes and generating taxi networks for its use then the main program menu which you will need to assign a hot key too to open. I use F12 on mine. You'll want to open up this main menu and go down to the REGIONS menu and press enter. Once inside the Regions menu, if you installed AFRE and Cargo_Tabular correctly, you will see those two folders. High AFRE and press enter to turn it green which means it is armed/selected. If you are going to fly with AFRE you don't need the Cargo one turned on. That is only if you are using Autogenerated traffic. There are several hot keys you will want to assign such as the Radar On/Off toggle (I use F9).

how does wt3 impacts FPS comparing whit defualt AI aircraft
There is a cost for having AI aircraft. The more AI the bigger the cost. On my 5 year old PC though I am able to stay above 30 FPS even at major airports like KDFW with 75% traffic turned on. :) SO the answer is, there is some but its worth it!

i cant seem to update my world traffic 3 aircraft i downloaded ALL the files and followed instructions but i still get aircraft missing errors wht am i doing wrong
Same here. I uninstalled everything from these files (I made sure) and redownloaded it and still have the same problem.
Not only missing aircraft but also having aircraft randomly parked in the middle of the runways.

Great Video. Just bought WT3. Under Enable/Disable Regions. I just see the arrow. HAs anyone seen this? I can't enable ARFE Real Traffic to be enabled.
What arrow? You should see AFRE_Real_Traffic and Cargo_Tabular. You should be able to use your arrow keys to highly AFRE routes and enter to turn them on. (They will light green).
You just need to re-sync. I had the same issue
