Another difference is that the Force shifters are capable of only connecting one set of blips, the Red shifters are capable of two sets of blips, for those that want to have sprint blips as well as climbing blips on the top.
regarding the Force brakes, I think this is the new version which Red will adopt soon. If i remember correctly i have seen this new Red version on bike discount already marked as "new"
Just FYI, I just spoke to Sram, and they told me, that after some testing that they have done with both groupsets, they are changing the Red brake caliper to the Force one-piece design, as they have found that it is actually better than the Red design. They wouldn't tell me when this change is coming. Maybe someone could verify this?
Good comparison.....I am currently building my first SRAM AXS aero bike, and settled for the Force. The price differential (so much cheaper) versus extra weight of Force was fair reason to choose it. One area I struggled with was the Crank set, as I run all my bikes 1X, I deviated away from SRAM here, I went with Praxis Zayante Carbon Direct drive with Wolf tooth 42T chain ring (as that was the only manufacturer at the time that had chain ring compatible with the AXS chains) This last point was frustrating, as the AXS standard is different to everything else out there. I am waiting for AbsoluteBlack to release their oval rings. Great tip on Motlten wax, I use that on all my bikes and its excellent.
Have You noticed difference when using sram force casette or sram red casste? With force casete gear changing in the rear s not that flawless . Will Red cassete be a remedy?
Hi there, I have a new (2500 km) axs force with the black cassette and it's realy noisy on some gears (one of the noisiest is when the chain is straight !...) So I was wondering if you have experienced a difference between red and force cassette/chain in term of noise ? Also got a lot of chaindrops at the front and was forced to use a chaingstopper... chain lenght maybe ?
@@ronykuba thx, I ordered one, I’ll update my experience here when I’ll get it. About chain drops : I tried everything on the setup side and no matter what, it would continue to happen every now and then for no apparent reason…
@@ronykuba So, it appears that the Red cassette is a must : 80gr saving (from Force 10-33 to Red 10-28) and now my bike is finally just a silent beast. The Force cassette was a real ringing bell and now it's perfectly silent, also gear jumps on the 10-33 were way too big for me, now its perfect.
Cheers Ronald. As per usual, very insightful and informative. So from what you've said, if I was to UG on a tight budget, it seems sensible to go for Force GS, with the exceptions of a Red crankset and Red calipers. By doing this I think it will strike the best balance between cost, weight and functionality. With regards to my carbon hoops, I will either need to replace them or UG the hubs to XDR. Are you able to suggest a cost effective "quality" pair of hubs that I could lace up? CarbonTi may unfortunately be out of my range😢
Hi there Maybe you could help decide on which SRAM red AXS crank and blade combination to choose? as I am buying the integrated power meter option I want to get it right. I used to ride Shimano 10 speed 50/34 with a 12-30 at the back. This met most of my needs up to 8% but wished for more gears above this. Most of the riding is on the flat in the Nether lands but ride in the weekends where we have some smaller hills. Would you advise to buy the 46/33 or the 48/35? Thanks for any help
Hi Ronald Would you be able to give me a little behind your choice? Are you saying I would never need the top end so a 48 or a 46 does not matter really? Just FYI my ftp is around 290 @ 72kg. Thanks again Mark
46/33 will give you a top speed of 36.1 mph on the flat so unless you hit higher speeds than that often 46 is good enough. That’s at 100rpm. For my local race I would 46/33 but out on my own I use a 48/35 and I have a section 9min long where I average 34.5 mph. Hitting 50 at one point so would love a 52 on the front but the upto 12% climb for 5 miles previous I need a very small gear, I weight 110kg. The question is how often do you hit those big speeds?
I have a question for you. Do you still wax your chains when using the SRAM Red AXS system? Also, do you re-use the masterlinks or do you replace them with new ones every time the chain is waxed?
Yoooo. So if I want to get AXS setup for my venge like yours. But I want to run 2x with that same aero plate crank... do they make the big ring in a 52? Thanks man. Keep the videos coming so freaking good. 👊🏼
SRAM Force etap axs is easily the worst groupset ever. Your constantly hearing a metallic sound as the chain revolves around the rear cassette. Having tried fine tuning in one bike shop, micro tuning in another shop, different types of lube etc nothing seems to work. Only recently I was informed by an experienced bike mechanic that SRAM is noisy in general and not much I can do. It’s incredibly noisy in every gear so by no means should anyone buy this groupset. I wish someone had given me this advice before I purchased my Trek Madone SLR7.
Good doggo

Yes, that's a good point.

I'm very curious about the reason of replacement. Does Gen2 "2-piece" brakes have any significant improvements?
Thank you for the clear explantation
Glad it was helpful!

That's entirely possible. The Level ULT MTB brake has already moved from the Red style caliper to the Force.
Does they tell that the improvements was done by Gen2 "2-piece" design?
Great video, finally the info I needed to decide for my new AXS groupset. Thanks a lot Ronald
Great to hear!
Great video as usual. Thanks for the comparison. I would love to try the a Sram electric groupset, hope I will have a chance in the future 😀
Thanks!
I thought that another difference was that Force does not allow adding shifting buttons (as you have on the Venge).
It does, but only one pair instead of 2.
This is a good video of you are an insomniac
at least it does not include made up drag numbers for which someone will sue me...
@@ronykuba Do you want me to send you a bottom bracket. You can critique it.
this is cute.

Yes, the chainring compatibility at the moment is weak, but it's just a matter of time.
Will the aero chainrings from absolute black be compatible whith the new Spider powermeter from Quarg and force crank?
Does anyone know the weight difference?
I would not expect the venge to have post mount for the disc brakes. Some extra plastic that could be saved, don't you think?
The dog is sooooo cute 🥰
I have Red AXS on my Moots Routt RSL Gravel bike and absolutely love it! BTW.. went with the Enve G23 wheels. DK200 here I come. Epic!
Nice setup!

@@ronykuba thanks i cannot see other reason it’s impossible to setup drivetrain with force cassette Thanks !!

The Red cassette is much more quiet. The chaindrops only mean improper setup.

Great video with really good info. Love the dog!
Thanks!
Husky is "jealous" of his bikes, lol. That, or he/she wants a bike of his/her own. 🐕
great video, i liked the dog fight ;-) keep it up... I like that you ride SPD
Thanks
What brand is the Garmin mount on the Trek?
Enve

Yes it's a good option. Red chain also, for lower friction. You can buy an XDR freehub for most hubs. If not, then DT240s are a good option.
You said your aero dub crank is 52? Largest I can find is 50t
My crank length is 165mm
What are your feelings about force axs 12spd vs red etap hrd 11spd (currently on my tcr) thank you 🙏🙂✌️

It's not possible to run 2x with that, and the largest offered size is 50t. If you want a bigger ring, then contact Aerocoach.

I think it’s a bit unfair to expect a noiseless experience from a chain driven bike
The dog is big fun...
Lovely dog
But now he rides Di2
who?
Hi Ronald, are you still running the SRAM RED? I'm torn between the RED and the Force. Is there a noticeable with riding? Thank you!!
