    Bought mine 2 weeks ago and it didn’t disappoint. The wired connection of course is always stable with no issues. Connected via bluetooth as well and never had any issues. The bass on this is pretty decent and I’m very much happy with it. Movie sessions are definitely much more enjoyable. Got this at around usd100 in Phils.

    Team VRY : these Edifier R1280DB are completely the same to my Edifier 1010BT-s. The only difference is the bass port location and consequently the AMP controls. I have the exact same issue of sound breaking up. But this happens if you have your speaker volume set to around 10 % of loudness of lower. There the amp actually turns off and on continuously, hence sound breaking off. It's a consequence of a very cheap amp potentiometer design. As for the sound goes, these produce very very good and full sound for the price.

    Have not had any issues with sound from TV, BT or line in for the four years that I've been using these. However, suddenly the other evening they just died due to power failure within the unit. So I thought it might be worth trying to repair until I removed the rear panel and saw how the PSU module is installed. It's put together in such a way as to make it impossible to remove without a lot of hassle. The case is made of MDF and is glued which makes it extremely difficult, if not impossible, to separate without causing severe damage. I guess they want us to buy new rather than repair. So much for saving the planet.

      Make sense why they would use good glue, breaking the seal on a speaker can alter its sound

    The chromecast stuttering is not from the speakers, is from Google. It happens to all my Bluetooth devices, but if you restart the chromecast it goes back to normal

    I have an Edifier R1280DBs and it also stutters, but I notice it does only when in youtube, but when I'm using other apps for examole netflix or other services, it does not stutter so I just assume that the problem was on youtube.

    I had a set of Edifier Speakers and I blew the transformer or something and they did not work anymore when using the controls. so I made speaker boxes larger and with the baffles insulation and ports at the front, installed the speaker and tweeter hooked them up as passive speakers with my TV and the speakers did sound much better in a larger redesigned speaker box and enjoyed the surround sound after completed 4 of the basic 3/4'' solid mahogany boxes, the end result, they worked great. The speaker box design I picked up from a Japanese expert on speaker boxes.

    If using a wired connection to tv, does changing the volume with the TV remote work with the speakers, or do you have to adjust their volume separately?

    I am buying the AT LP60XBT and was wondering if I should get the Edifier R1280DBs versus Edifier R1280DB? There’s a $10 difference and couldn’t decide which speakers would be best

    • @anthonykiedis1765
      @anthonykiedis1765 10 месяцев назад +1

      Pay the extra $10 for the R1280DBs. That "s" just means you have the ability to hook up an external subwoofer, which is worth the extra money.

      I had that exact setup! Great easy combo. I also hooked up a headphone amp (FYI you need a separate headphone amp if you wanna listen to audiophile or wired headphones on your AT LP60XBT) to both TT and Edifier speakers. They sound great! I also have the edifier speakers on speaker stands I got on Amazon.

  • @Violet-ui
    @Violet-ui 5 месяцев назад

    I just can't get behind cheap speakers. They sound good compared to TV or laptop speakers, but even good $20 IEMs sound so much better. I really dislike it when I switch from headphones with a good frequency response to affordable speakers with a frequency response that just sounds off. EQ helps but I am not good enough to actually fix the problem.
    In my opinion if you already have decent sounding heaphones and want to get speakers, don't bother with the cheap active speakers that you'll end up replacing soon anyway. Just accept that you need to spend like 300+ for something that will be satisfying to use and won't be distracting when switching from your headphones.

      The Edifier R1280DBs is the best neutral sounding entry level audiophile speakers for Vinyl playback, they have pleasant high and a good bass and more importantly the mid's come through quite well , so a good all rounder for all genre of music as well. Plug in a T5 subwoofer and can take it to the next level :)

      Actually shelf speakers have better overall sound quality to tiny speakers inside of sound bars. Better dynamic range, and better stereo separation.
      get these and buy a sub and it’ll beat majority of sounds bars in $300 to 400$ range. I have experienced both you should try shelf speakers yourself and you’ll realize the difference right away 🤷‍♂️
