We did have a very blessed, merry Christmas. I trust the same for you and your family. Thanks so much for your visit and hope you have a great weekend and a happy new year.
Hey !Bonjour vraiment une superbe restauration, la couleur bleu est vraiment magnifique et les lettres rehausser de blancs super. Et un étau pour cent ans. ❤
Hello to you. It’s great to have you stop by for a visit. I think the place does look nice and should serve me for a very long time. Hope to see you again on the next video and have a great weekend. Merry Christmas.
Excellent job on the restoration. Vintage vises are almost as addictive as vintage axes haha. I also recently resorted a larger beefier vise from the 1920's for my bench. It's come in very useful. I'm sure you will love the upgrade 👍
It sounds like we share an affinity for many of the same things. Restoring a large 1920s vise sounds fun. Good luck and I trust it turns out well for you. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.
I could see the beauty in that even before you started on it. Wonderful find! I don't think I've seen a vise that rotated a full 360 before. Don't know that I'd ever need it but I'd want one just the same. And I loved your workaround with the Evapo-rust. Adapt and overcome. A beautiful restore. Wishing you and yours a Merry Christmas and a healthy and Happy New Year.
Thank you so much for all of your gracious comments. I particularly like your sentiment of not needing something, but wanting one anyways.😄 Often I look for things that I didn’t know I needed when I am at flea market’s, so I understand you. As for the Evaporust trick, it’s fun to use your imagination to overcome problems you run into. Thanks so much for your visit and have yourself a merry Christmas and a happy new year as well.
They are a lot of fun and I was happy with the way this turned out. It’ll serve me for a very long time. Thanks for your visit. Come by again soon and have a merry Christmas.
That turned out excellent! The blue with white lettering looks good on it. If the older press was your fathers, perhaps you could do a restoration and retire it to a place in the shop. Thanks for sharing. 😀👍
Thank you very much. I was happy with the way it turned out and it should serve me for a long, long time. As for restoring my dad‘s vice, I have so many of his tools already, so I’m not sure about it. I’ll keep it around for a while and maybe someday do something with it. Thanks so much for your visit and hope you have a great weekend. Merry Christmas.
Welcome to the channel. Feel free to check out some of the other videos of those tools behind me. Glad to have you stop by for a visit. Hope you’ll come by again soon. Have a great weekend and a happy new year.
Thank you. I’ve been trying to get a hold of you because you are the winner of the breast drill. Please contact me at toolscouter@gmail.com include your Address in the email and I’ll send it to you. Thanks for your visit and have a great weekend.
Nice job on this cool vise! Great hack on the Evaporust as well. I did a Simplex earlier this year and used close to the same color, I think that vise looks fantastic in the blue. Enjoyed the video.
Could be. It should be well protected from any moisture and I think it’ll serve me for a long time to come. Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.
Wow a nice find. Other than rust that vise is in really good shape. It seems the relative indicator of overall condition is - how hard is it to get the jaw screws out - yours appeared to loosen without much problem and the jaws look to be in real good condition. The vise doesn't appear to have had a hard life. Good job. More than two thumbs up.
Thank you. I agree with you. that the vise was probably not used very hard and was in really good condition. No, it’s protected with a coat of paint and should serve me for a very long time. Thanks for your visit and hope you have a great weekend.
Thank you. The lettering wasn’t too bad. I just feel like I waste a lot of paint, but I have to do it that way or it will just dump all over. I do like the marker over a small paintbrush. I look forward to your next visit and have a great weekend.
Your portable vise adapter is a suitable and clever idea. I am of the opinion that bech vises should be installed so long material can held vertically in the vise and clear the bench front edge. I have frequently installed vises so that the rear jaw face is parallel to the bench front edge for more vertical support, although only in one direction. Your base frame that fits in the wood vise could be modified to incorporate my recommendation feature. To add my suggestion to your setup and not interfere with the wood vise, use a larger base plate frame to extend past the edge of the wood vise. I no longer have need for "light duty" vises, and I have become a vise nerd and snob. I currently own and employ around 25 vises. I am always on the quest for larger, higher quality, and improved condition vises. I am in direct competition with vise collectors that love the same features and functions that I do, but are content to hoarde and inventory what I would put in service. I routinely paint my vise restorations similar to your approach. I am not a stickler for matching OEM colors. My restorations are for shop use, and they will soon suffer battle scars. Painted restorations improve function and the pride I take in my shop craftsmanship pursuit. If the new paint job only improves the appearance and not the function, paint upgrade is very low on my priority list. I have special trophies in my tool hoarde, but I am vastly more interested in collecting to employ. I value the folk that enjoy collecting and restoring as their hobby pursuit, but it doesn't drive my hobbies. I began collecting tools when I was 14 and spent my career employed using them. Retirement has included more prosperity than I anticipated. My hobby life includes vastly more spent than when I was needing tool purchases to support my career. I am also constantly adding to my 27 make offspring tool collections. I highly value the quality and function of premium tools. I have "champagne tastes on a beer budget", so most of my purchases are on the secondary market.
Hi there Paul. It’s great to have you stop by for a visit. I like the Way you think. I really would like to get a nice heavy duty 6 inch vice of high quality but they’re so expensive. This vise is on the portable adapter, because I have other vices that I use if I need something a little more stable. But as you expressed at the end of your message, I like to get a very high quality for a very low price. So, I am still waiting to find that deal. Until then I have what I need to get the job done. I know this paint job doesn’t really increase the function of this device, but I do believe it will protect it so as not to rust. Good luck to you on your hunt for more of those vises. I’m not a collector of vises but as I said, I would like to get a nice large one. Maybe someday. Thanks again for your visit and I hope y’all enjoy the rest of the videos. Come by again soon and share some more. Hope you have a great day and a merry Christmas.
Nice restoration. It's always enjoyable to watch you work and get your tips. I hope you and your family had a Blessed and Merry Christmas

Very clean, the white letters against the blue works well.
Thank you. I appreciate your visit and hope you have a great weekend.
That was so satisfying to watch. Such a nice job. As Mr, Magoo used to say; "You've done it again"! Lol. It's starting to snow here in MI. as well...
Thank you very much. I think they’re calling for an inch to an inch and a half tonight. Thanks for coming by and have a great weekend.

Lookin' good!
Thank you. I liked watching you take that simple, rusty wrench and make it pop. Thanks so much for your visit and have a great weekend.
Nice video.
Thank you very much. Have a great weekend.
That vise turned out very nice. I like the way you used the bag and Evpo-Rust, I will put that one to use.
Thank you. I appreciate your visit and look forward to seeing you again soon. Have a great weekend.
Damn all those behind you
Own work…hell yeah 👍

Excellent Work. I’m inspired to redo my old Craftsman vice
Thank you and good luck. I hope your project turns out well and that you have a great weekend.
Very nice Brian! It almost looks to nice to use. It does look very beefy compared to the old vise! Merry Christmas to you and your family! ☃️🎄🇺🇸
Thank you, but I am not a collector of vises yet😄. So, this one will get used. Thanks so much for stopping by and hope you have a great weekend.

Beautiful job! The lettering looked painstakingly tedious.😅 again looks great and catch you next time.

Nise Vise? Nice Vice? Nice Vise? 🎅🎄🎁✨❄⛄
