I admire Solingen so much. There is so much engineering talent in the knife industry and the world owes so much to the German knife makers who pioneered metallurgical techniques; every industry has benefited from their labor. I'm gonna visit Solingen someday.
And as far as Puma manufacturing outside of Germany goes, it's not like Solingen Puma has lost because of it. The kind of people that are in the market for a Solingen Puma are not in the market for something like a SGB, and visa versa. If anything, I think it has helped more people (myself included) to discover Puma. Now, someday when I can afford to, I will buy a Solingen made Puma, and it will be the crown jewel of my collection. Until then, I'll appreciate my SGBs. They are incredible knives for the money.

@Matthias Gregory That sounds unethical, and I really wish you didn't attach your shady comment to my genuine, heartfelt comment. If you posses a more advanced knowledge of computers and information technology, you should use your abilities responsibly.

I love them so much I own 4 of them and made a video about them also. One day soo I hope that I will Buy the Legendary White Hunter totally made in Germany. I have many brands of knives including some 1095 and D2 steel but if I could only grab one knife during SHTF or something like it I promise one of my Pumas would put confidence in my ability to survive.

Say Heah Puma, I just bought a Puma Bowie 2. It caught my interest because it wasn't a Hollow Grind but more of a Saber Grind and to me and what I do in the bush, I find my the Saber Grind to be very strong. I bought my knife at a Pawn Shop and I know the guys, It came in the original box and the numbers match. The number model number on the knife is #118396, and that's the number on the black box it comes in. I can tell how the knife was handled by sometimes the shape of the box and the knife and box were mint. I was able to get a very little information on the knife like it was made up to the second half of 2002 and that it's discontinued, But I found a seller selling one in brand new condition llike mine for $165.00 It looks very similar to the Original Bowie, But with ought the Bolster. On mine it's plain, but a very good fitting knife. No where does it say I, or Blade is German but assembled in Asia. Mine clearly says Handmade in Solingen, Germany. I was wondering if my knife is 440c, I hope, I hope, I hope. Anyhow I think I got it for a good price I paid $75.00 for mine and I could tell it's brand new. Any info would be appreciated. I also bought a Diefenthal 408 Folder again in box and paper work in mint condition, It looks just like a Puma in quality. Thank You in advance.

PUMA IS greatness, and quality way-beyond compare, its price notwithstanding.
Now I heard a very nasty "rumor" about PUMA Knives. And that is to "stay competitive", PUMA Knives are being shipped to China to be "assembled". I for one do hope that there is no-truth to this rumor, because if there is a shred of truth in it, you WILL lose, in the long-run, many a customer, ... like myself.
I collect PUMA White Hunter knives. So far, I own twenty-four (24) of them that I am passing on to my son as part of his inheritance. The day I find out that these beautiful weapons are made ("assembled") in China, I will stop collecting PUMA, and will start considering the selling of these items. Nothing wrong with Chinese edged weapons, don't get me wrong. But, I collect, and buy, PUMA Knives because they are German made, and that, so-far, spells great quality for me.
