I own the coyote and agree with your review but, you mentioned you don't do a lot of hunting so I thought I would throw in my two cents on blade shape. The classic drop point of the coyote is far superior to other blade shapes as far as skinning and gutting go. Clip points are prone to stabbing hide, intestines, etc. This is especially important if you want to keep the hide to tan or mount. If you look at the top of the line skinning knives, they are all rounded points. TL;DR: "Stabby" = bad when skinning.

I watch because I trust your reviews, I bought my esee 6 because of your review, it's channels like yours and preparedmind101 along with a few others that I watch religiously. I know that the information that you are providing is helping me make a better choice on where my money is spent. Thanks to all of you guys and gals for everything you do to help us make the right decisions

I've been binge-watching your reviews. When I saw the first 'negative' review of free product, I knew your opinion could be trusted. If Puma is smart, they will take your criticism and grow from it. All that knife needs is a handle tweak.

You live in Colorado and the rocky mountains and don't hunt. I hunt enough for both of us Mr Aaron. I'm making my first trip to your beautiful state in July, the Denver area. Can't wait to see the rocky mountains with my own eyes. Great review as usual. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience on this awesome blade, I appreciate it sir.

Hey Gideonstactical I just bought this knife and I actually like it a lot. It was perfect for skinning deer this weekend.. What should I use to sharpen this? Would a regular wet stone be ok? Or should I use something different? If so what would you recommend?

Also this thing feels great in my hands. It must be because I have smaller hands than the average dude haha.

Great review! I miss the old PUMA most of mine I bought back in the mid 1980's. PUMA-Werk was sold after not long after Oswald von Frankenberg and Ludwigsdorf died. Anything after 1991 is either from the from the Solinger family Hindrichs dynasty or the Heiner Hiepass-Aryus leadership he was all about bring in new technology and more efficient production. They still have the "PUMA Individual" in which you can assemble your own original PUMA knife independently and individually. Check that out... very cool... Again I love your reviews... It gets me motivated to pull out my collection and I always learn something from you as well....

You should do the Extreme Instinct Sidekick High Carbon Tan. It's a custom knife that I I have had a great experience. I would just like you're take on it.

would be great if you can do a review on the Eickhorn GEK edc, GEK 2000 or the GBK because there is no really good review of them which i can trust 100% because you´re testing blades on the best way

gideonstactical Would you say that the puma would make a good first knife for a child?
It seems like it'd fix the ergo-troubles and even fill out the hand quite nice.

I don't think it is a good handle period. If you like the company, go with the deadwood canyon.

First of all, it's a hunting knife, that being said, it HAS to be made in the most rust resistance steel, so 440 it's fine for that, blood is extremely harsh to steel. Properly heat treatment is key, no matter how a high end steel you put on the knife, if it isn't treated correctly, it wouldn't matter. Puma has been making knives since before the US was a nation, so I really don't think they need lessons on how to make it

Puma SGB KNIVES HAVE SMALL RIVETS...question 'any' word that proceeds 'Stag'. Lots of funky materials including plastic, though they do use actual stag, sometimes. Study the various wood materials too! Go to Puma knives if shopping eBay to compare prices. My '74 Puma Bowie was ripped-off, God, only knows it's worth, less the stories. Puma Bowie new is $200 at Puma knives through the Holidays. The best knives made.

I was given a puma by my dad... I will never let it go because of that. However it has the worst egos of any knife I've owned

You seem like a legit dude, I don't see why anyone would accuse you of being in a companies pocket without explicitly doing it to troll you like a brainless neanderthal. Keep up what you're doin man, and take care, atb.

I believe I’ll just buy me a Svord Ranger instead.
