How Did This 1998 Newell Surprise Me?

- I was contacted by an interested buyer to inspect a 1998 Newell at Premium Coach Group in Gilbert, Arizona. Normally, I am not much of a Newell fan due to the work requirements when repairing them. However, the condition, floorplan, and simple functionality won me over and I had to share it.
Due to rainy weather I was not able to film the inspection, but I returned the next week to record a fun and quick video, and much to my surprise in Arizona I was still racing to beat another rain storm.

You know you're old when the interior of a 98 motorhome still looks "Modern".
Hey! That’s my Newell.
Sweet. How long have you owned it???
A lotta rig for one guy, dont blame you for selling
When will they have it up on their site?
That's a sweet one! Love the layout and paint scheme. I might have to spiff mine up now.
@@georgeelder8415 Got it in Nov of last year.
I don't care HOW impractical that interior air door is. That's gotta be one of the coolest things I've seen.
I used to work for Onan from about 10-12 and saw a lot of brand new coaches (that had generator issues)... but never saw that!
We went from a mid entry to a front entrance and I thought that I liked it better but watching this I’m not sure! What a beautiful coach. Someone absolutely loved their machine….
A GOOD video and I wish the new owner ALL THE VERY BEST from the U.K. 🇬🇧
This looks like fun. It’s got some potential to customise areas and, I love that it’s a bath and a half. I just love that it has an actual bath and would definitely consider buying it. I hope it’s there for a while whilst I plan my trip over 😊
Thank you James and please keep your eyes peeled for bathrooms with a bath 😉
Great video, as always, bro. Like our buddy Andy would say, " That's a lot of value." " Right out of the wrapper." 😀
Late 90s early 00s Newell are probably the best buy in used RVs today. I'm a big fan of the mid entry, and you cannot beat the s60 engine. I may have to shop for one
Bath and a half was just coming out in 2007 ish I remember being young and going with my mom and stepdad to the Rv show and they bought a brand new 2008 Bounder 35h with the bath and a half
114,999? Ok, sounds nice because it looks good.
A beautiful timeless decor.
I love it! 😍. Wouldn't change anything except maybe the kitchen tap. Super vintage cool! 🍻
I totally agree!
I think it’s a great looking coach. I really like the mid-entry design. She needs a few upgrades but overall it looks really good. If James’s put his stamp of approval on it then it would be a great buy. I wish I was in a position to buy it right now.
Beautiful old coach.
Pretty sharp looking coach.
What a gem!
Nice coach. Thank you for the tour James. Happy trails!
That coach has aged VERY well!
That steering column is out of a Cadillac. Rebuilt alot of those columns. Over tighting the telescope feature.
I thought that steering wheel looked out of place.
@@rbnhood39 it was the best at that time.
Love ,Love , Love It !!!
HOW GORGEOUS !!!!♥️
Very Nice !
Wow! Looks like a great deal...
That front lounge/cockpit is awesome. Mine is not THAT different, but doesn't seem as much a living room. Love the paint scheme too.
Thanks for watching!
Awesome ❤❤❤❤❤
Very nice. Definitely some pride in ownership there.
Did the original owner spec it out that way or is this how Newell did it back then?
Fun walk through. Thanks 😊
Glad you enjoyed!
Nice machine. Good tour!
Glad you enjoyed it
What a beauty ... and a layout ....and I want a train horn
That is a nice coach. I have the same SCS basement ac system in my Marquis.
You better be careful talking up the Series 60 DD or the CAT in your Beaver might turn into a dog and lets you hoofing it down the road. 🤣🤣
Like the color scheme. Good looking rig.
That coach is gorgeous.
Back to the big screen the view is better 😊
Great video and great find; thanks for showing it. I love everything about the rig I would love to have it over my Tiffin gasser... but could not sell the wife on it. The only thing I would change is the floor - the carpet has to go.
Right on!
Im pretty sure 98 was the first year of the slides. I have a 98 CC Magna with a living room slide but didnt know Newell had the bedroom slide then too. Foretravel was late to the slide game and that really hurt their sales and many think it lead to them having to go into bankruptcy and eventually sell the company. Prevost shells were late to slides too.
did I miss the price?
for integrity and safety - toggle switches are much better than multiplex control centers. It's one thing should they fail at home - it's a whole different scenario if you are in the middle of nowhere.
very nice
That is a nice motorhome and a good price
Love the paint job on that one and if I was in the market for a coach...I'd be interested in it.
Looks nice. Need to put the slides in to see how they line up and how much room there is inside when retracted. One note with the 2 stroke Detroit engines is that they won't get as good economy as more modern engines and they definitely don't like being overheated so watch the gauges. This bus is better than almost ANYTHING built today.
I ran Detroit Diesels for many years, both on the grapevine and the Siskiyou Pass, heard the same comment about heat. but never had an issue. As long as they are well maintained, kept in their powerband and the correct gear, you should never have an overheat issue.
Nice well maintained coach. Mileage is a non issue if it was serviced regularly. Which based on everything else would be a reasonable assumption.
Didn't see any views with the slide outs in. I like to see how much walkway room it has when in travel mode. Thanks for another good video.
As there are only two slides the aisle ways are very widein the living room
Rear bath makes it slightly quieter for someone to snooze while driving down the road. I am always a sucker for mid-entry...
This is awesome😊 Thanks for sharing...how much is it selling for?
👍 nice commercial
Series 60 Detroit engine can easily run million miles before needing an overhaul
I'd like to see you do a similar vintage Safari.
in 2023, a new Newell sells for +$2mm, so this should sell very quickly. a pity for me Newell does not make a 36 ft model.
I found a 2003 allure 36 in kentucky thats very nice too
@@AZExpert details please!?
@@1Seriouslyserious sewellmotorcoach.com I just inspected it
👍🏽
365 steers tend to rub in 90s newells.
So was that water staining from a water leak in the bedroom closet? That looked like it was bad at one point.
Did it sell already? It’s not on the website.
11:59 anyone know what that discoloration is in the closet?
