Indeed, the pant leg was sewn shut! The opening was supposed to go into the sewing arm.

The leg isnt sewn closed if you put the leg hole through the machine lip but this is not a good technique cause you have a strange fold lip at the bottom of your leg…. You could press it out but its weird

True but on darker color fabric is hard to notice.. I've done this technique and it works fine with some clothes..

You should take the actual seam of the pants apart and put that raw edge in and then sew a new seam, i cant really explain it but thats how i have done a lot of my pants
