Obviously I've got my bias as a long-time fan, but SHINee really are pretty exceptional. They were the first K-pop group to ever win the Rookie Grand Slam, which means winning every major rookie music award in Korea in a single year. They did this when their youngest was only 14 and their two oldest were only 18, so they really had the vocal and performance chops from the beginning and then just kept improving. Their vocal balance and ability to pull off those ad libs is difficult to emulate. By the way, these songs don't have MVs, yeah, but they've all been performed live and you can easily find those performances on YT! Symptoms and Prism have really great choreo. Fun fact: Jonghyun wrote Symptoms and participated in the composition of Prism. He was a very talented musician.
Wait til you hear them sing those tracks live coz they sound so much better. I wish you could also react to those concert videos. I feel like this is a redemption video. My shawol heart is happy. SHINee is the BEST! 🩵💎🩵💎
SHINee's Symptoms was written by Jonghyun and I think he's a genius because he delivered the lines in the way the song matches the members' best qualities. I think you will enjoy listening to Jonghyun's solo songs because he likes to play around with a lot of instruments and layers of his own voice. I hope there is a video of solo songs by him on this channel Also, thank you for this reaction!
the vocal layering and playfulness is one of the reasons that SHINee is my favorite group. there are actually producers who have stated they prefer working with SHINee because they get to try more experimental and vocally challenging stuff since they know SHINee can pull it off!!
Love that SHINee redeemed themselves for you guys this time!! SHINee really is that group where you have 5 totally different distinguishable vocals that sound good alone and miraculously and unexpectedly also sounds so good together. SHINee harmonies are one of my absolute favorite things about them. As amazing as the variety of all their title tracks have been over the years, I really think all the gems are in the bsides. Some of my favorite songs with vocal layerings and harmonies are If You Love Her, Satellite, Days and Years, Farewell My Love, Graze, and Y.O.U (Year Of Us)... I know you haven't really listened to their ballads but they're so good!!!
Given Jonghyun has credits on 3 of these songs, maybe you should check out his solo work? Also, I’d love to see your reaction to SHINee’s live performances. I think they’re consistently even better live.
Doing Body Rhythm instead of Satellite 😭 (I feel compelled to clarify I love Body Rhythm, it is super catchy and Minho sells us with the performance 😂 but Satellite has ALL THE VOCAL LAYERING) Symptoms is just a masterpiece. Timeless.
You ask "why isnt this a title track" a lot, and that is because that's how 90% of kpop works - the title tracks are very often the safer / more catchy songs for the general public, and the b-sides is where a group truly shines. This is very much the case with SM groups especially (EXO, Shinee, Red Velvet etc), but SM groups also tend to have more experimental title tracks lol. I know Atom is a kpop fan, but I wish you guys had a person who actually explains those types of nuances when it comes to kpop in its context to y'all :/ Often things you might find weird/out of place are very much usual in kpop, and things that you might find tired or overdone are revolutionary /in kpop/, at least at the time of release. Same with "why don't other groups not do this". Often they do! Just in b-sides lol. Not saying that every group is Shinee level because that is NOT the case but if you delve into more b-sides from groups you react to, you'll find more songs you'll like (for example you guys liked EXO's Artificial Love, which is a b-side).
With EXO the unfortunate thing is that a lot of what fans recommend are the good yet safe songs. The Korean fans for example are to this day very stuck in the XOXO era, I'm guessing due to nostalgia. Luckily EXO don't stop taking risks in their songs regardless. I'm considering joining the Discord just to suggest songs like Bad Dream and Chill which I never see in comment sections.
SHINee's bsides are worthy of title tracks, they are very well produced, and the vocals are unsurpassed. Other bsides that I would like them to react to are: *SHIFT, Satellite, Queen Of New York, Orgel, CØDE, Selene 6.23, Evil, Hitchhiking* But there are many more 😊
Totally agree that their level of vocal layering and color is what sets them apart from other groups - all 5 of them have unique voices and it's always great to see talent actually get fully utilized! Also, I think very apt that you guys described Prism as MJ but modern - the album that Prism came from had a modernized 1980s retro concept :) For more vocal layering I humbly request Odd Eye, Satellite, and Orgel! I also love 10x. And just because I wanna see the world burn... Woof Woof lol!! And they still have lots of title tracks like Dream Girl and 1 of 1 to listen to! In terms of production, it'd be neat for you guys to explore Jonghyun's solo work. I think once you listen to his stuff, it becomes very evident that his style/taste was a significant creative influence on the group's songs.
Thank you for this reaction. Your honest reaction is so refreshing and you don't say the same everyone is saying to every group. So thank you for seeing what makes Shinee special.
You said about why weren't symptoms, up and down and one minute back title tracks - they were b-sides but they were performed live along side each of the title tracks during promotion - so on music shows people heard both the title and those during the promotion time :) Thats why I love SHINee so much - they are the exception, not the rule. I just objectively think they are better 🤷♀
Just do a weekly SHINee video from here on out. I'm still waiting for Dreamgirl. And Tell Me What to Do. And then just do all the Misconceptions albums. And then you can do more solo stuff! You'll have content well into the new year.
I’m joining this if they do a weekly SHINee video or biweekly LOL. They just have such a wide discography, and each member has a unique vocal signature, and that’s not even counting their solo works.
There are plenty of SHINee’s b-sides that are better than their title tracks. It’s not that the title tracks are BAD, it’s just the b-sides are better (imo). SHINee’s the only group I will blindly preorder their album having not heard a single song because I know I can trust their quality. Even if they experiment with genres I don’t like, at least half of the album I will still love. Glad you got some B-side exposure this time 😊 FYI Symptoms was performed on music shows and concerts so you can see & hear them sing it live as well. I love that you loved Symptoms & One Minute Back because they were on the Everybody album - which you guys didn’t enjoy much. 😆 Isn’t that wild?
I think you pretty much liked songs that Jonghyun "meddled" with. Those are his creations. Of course, SHINee as a whole group has a say in their music and that's what makes them so unique and amazing. But that being said, I think you would love Jonghyun's music. He knows exactly how to layer and how to play with music. SHINee is a jewel ❤️ I do agree with most of your opinions in this one. About Juice... you say that it's not what you would expect of them. And they are the best at that, actually 😆 but their all b-sides and songs overall are so different and unpredictable. Someone once said that SHINee is simply feel good music. I agree 😁
Not being able to skip through Symptoms on the analysis is so real 😆 I love Everybody as the tt for the energy, but Symptoms is a masterpiece. The vocal mix is incredible, one of the best things about SHINee is how they play off eo, and their vocal textures go together so well. If you like the vocal layering, I really suggest Jonghyun's solo work, he is very playful and masterful with his voice, and he weaves in vocals with his production like another instrument. I think he's really musically intelligent, and has insane vocal ability to do whatever he wants. Try songs like Aurora, Orbit especially, also Neon, Red. Great reaction! I hope to see more SHINee from you guys, I love your analysis! Thank you to Law for representing us haha!!
They should've been recommended to listen to songs written and/or produced by SHINee members from the beginning😂😂😂 And please please do their ballads next 🙏🏻🙏🏻 Also... Listening to SHINee when they sing live ... It's a different experience... Even for songs you don't like
Juice will grow on you, you will be surprised how used to " I think you like me" you will get :). Didn't like that part either on my first listen, but I love Juice so much now.
You can hear the brilliance of SHINee in these tracks but they pale in comparison to them live (mostly in concert). Up & Down is 1 of my favourite live tracks.
Suggestions ... In My Room, Romeo and Juliet (SWC V version), 1000 years always by your side, Sleepless Nights, Moon River Waltz, World Where You Exist, Password (SWC 2014 version), Nightmare (SWC IV version)
SHINee b-sides are gold!! Watching and hearing their live performances of them are on another level! Same for their solo work, especially Jonghyun’s, always check the b-sides! 🩵
Love hearing the opinions haha shinee has tons of weird experimental songs, and i truly believe they have a song for everyone 🤣 ones youll hate and ones youll love.
1000% AGREE - SHINee is one of those rare groups that just knows how to utilize and distribute their lines so well. AND they use the most unconventional notes and melodies ever, and just know how to have fun! I like to say that SHINee are exceptional at giving you musical orgasms haha
All those SHINee songs you just reacted too are even better live. Instead of lyric videos, what you should have reacted to was their live concert performances. One thing SHINee are most known for is their amazing live performance skills and they have performed almost all of their songs in concert over the past 16 years. So next time you react to one of their B-side songs I suggest you check out the concert performance. And what's great about SHINee concerts is they almost never get blocked or copyright clams, so you should be pretty safe to react to any SHINee live concert performance. When it comes to SHINee you HAVE to watch the live performance of all of their songs. (When we suggest you check out one of their songs, especially one of their B-side tracks, what we want you to react to is the live performance.) The lyric videos don't really matter that much to us. If you need lyrics for every song then I suggest that you include a lyric video along with the live performance, but you CAN NOT miss the live performances. Please don't get hung up on needing to know what the lyric are about for every song. If you watch the live performance you should be able to understand the song well enough to get the main point of the song. If it's important to know what the lyrics are about, don't worry we will let you know. But the majority of SHINee's songs just need to be experienced live. I can't emphasize enough that it's VERY important to check out ALL of SHINee's live performances. As a Shawol, knowing what the lyrics are about in SHINee's songs isn't as important to us as it is that you watch the live concert performances. SHINee are legends for their live performances and that is what they are most known for. Their live performances is why everyone looks up to them and it's why they are the idols of other idols. SHINee live is like none other. And, in my opinion, watching someone look at a lyric video is no where as exciting or entertaining as watching them experience a live performance.
Listen only with SHINee will I stan. SHINee- Obsession. 14 years later and that song is so elite for me. Sexy R&B kpop was top tier when Jonghyun was behind it lol. Throwback SHINee Big 5 is, Symptoms, Obsession, Ayo, and Tell Me What to Do and its a Toss up between Excuse me Miss and Your number. Listen Shinee just made good music. But to be clear 2nd generation had heavy hitters, JYJ, DBSK(5),EXO, BAP, MBLAQ, BEAST, NUEST, MISSA, GA-IN, SHINHWA....the list could go on, and did. To be honest
They're insanely good, and their vocals are great together. Some of my favorites out of their goodly discography is Hitchhiker and Like a Fire. There are alot more, their albums are just full of banger after banger.
Nice reaction👍 but please react to their other b-side songs spoiler, an encore, selna 6.23, like a fire, odd eye,Queen of New York, hitchhiking and colorful, thank you
I suggest listening to Orgel and 1 of 1.. they're two of my favorite songs. Orgel sends me to another world where I'm lost in the beautiful vocals layered so well over a music box melody and 1 of 1 is just a bop.
Not to be that person but you actually need ALL the members in the group to be great singers, above average doesn't cut it. Sm groups' b-side tracks have a lot of vocal layering and harmonization, you should check them out.
@@hanbaebummie3215 yeah that's what I meant. They said it was rare to see so much harmonizing in songs and how all the members' vocals were utilized to the fullest. And since kpop is now dominated with groups who can't sing for their lives, it has become rare. 2nd and 3rd gen kpop groups have more than one technically trained main vocalist, while 4th and 5th gen groups are outstanding dancers and "stan attractors", they lack severely in the vocal department. And since nowadays these newer groups are more popular and get recommended more, they don't see this kind of production often. Hence my comment
Shinee AND EXO top tier Kpop groups! Both Shinee and EXO have the best B-sides and vocal and instrumental layering! Shinee’s latest album “Hard” is a definite no skip! BTW JUICE IS AWESOME And does NOT have an EXO sound!
In SHINee's "Juice" performance video, I think the "sun" is supposed to remind you of a giant orange. The song is called "Juice," so I think the orange sphere might be designed to represent the theme of the song. We also see it turn into a red sphere and a silver crystal-like ball. LOL. I think the "sun" is changing colors and becoming more powerful to go along with how the song is getting more fierce. (And as you noticed, in the beginning they showed an eclipse, which could potentially be connected to SM Entertainment's SM Culture Universe storyline.) If you want to see how they filmed this video, check out their "(HARD) #8 'Juice' dance practice and performance video" behind the scenes filming video. This will show you exactly what went into making this video and what it was like on set, etc. I interpret the lyrics of the song as a big flex about how they are at the top of the game and they have that special "juice" that makes everyone want them and fall in love with them, etc. (As you may know, "Juice" is a slang term that, in this case, I think means "the it factor," i.e. the thing that makes you attracted to me, etc.) Fun fact: The phrase, "Incoming!!!", the laughing, and the phrase "Let's get it" in the background, as well as the phrase "Let's change the scenery, shall we" in the middle of the song, are the signature style and voice of Dem Jointz, who is one of the producers of this track, along with Kenzie. All the backup dancers fell down at the end because the only ones who could "survive" by the end of that performance were the SHINee members. :D As you are starting to discover, SHINee are some of the best dancers in the whole industry. They started the synchronized dance trend. And they made the industry realize that if anyone else wanted to compete they needed to up their game. Just think, when Taemin joined SM as a trainee at 11, he didn't even have any dance training -- up until then, all his skills were self-taught by watching dancers on TV shows -- and by the time he debuted less than 3 years later in 2008, he was already showing everyone that his skill level was on par with, or even surpassed, many professional dancers who had been dancing for years. That's why Taemin is now considered one of the top two BEST dancers in all of Kpop. It's why he is most idols' idol and a legend even among legends. And the fact that the other SHINee members have no problem keeping up with Taemin, just shows why SHINee are one of the top groups. That's just SHINee's natural talent. Plus, Key actually was chosen to become an SM trainee because of his skills as a dancer. He is the SHINee member who is fastest at memorizing choreography. He has a photographic memory, so he only needs to see a dance once and he can replicate it on the spot almost better than the original. He literally knows everyone's choreography in the Kpop industry. He can fill in as a member of almost any group because he knows their song and choreography just as well, or better, than the actual members. And although Minho is the main rapper of the group, in fan meetings and concerts when he has a solo stage, he often does dance covers or dance performances because he is also a really good dancer. However, what sets SHINee apart even more as a group, is they are also recognized as some of the best vocalists in the industry. SHINee are referred to as CDINee or CD-eaters, because they sound even better live than their album versions. Even as rookies, SHINee's main vocalists -- Onew and Jonghyun -- were mentors and vocal coaches to a lot of other singers and trainees, including several members of EXO. (EXO may be considered "Vocal Kings," but SHINee are the original Vocal Kings. Which just goes to show you why they are both SM groups.) In their "Juice" performance video Onew -- SHINee's leader and one of the top vocalists in the industry -- was unable to participate in this performance, so the other members covered his parts in the song. However, you should watch their recent SHINee World Concert VI performance to see Onew performing with them. Onew's voice in the song creates an even richer feel. That's just SHINee for you, even when one of their main vocalists is missing, the other members can step in and cover for them and they still manage to sound and look flawless. Although each of their voices adds their own district color to their songs that can't be replaced -- to be fair, all their songs are much better with all 5 of them -- but the other members are so good, that they never look or sound like they are lacking, no matter who is covering each part of the song. The ONLY thing SHINee is not good at is lip syncing, so they have specifically trained since their debut, to build stamina and endurance, in order to be able to sing live for 3+ hours straight, all while performing these intense choreographies. When you watch a live performance, you may be shocked, because they sound so perfect live even though they are dancing so intensely, but that is why they are so highly respected by everyone. It's a running joke between fans and the members that you can tell when SHINee are lip syncing because they are so bad at it, that is why they avoid it at all costs. Therefore, when you hear SHINee sing, 95% of the time it will be live. Yes, over the years they have become better at lip syncing than they used to be, but now they have gained the reputation as the group that always sings live, so unless they are required to lip sync for a specific reason, what you will hear is live vocals. Other Idols and audio sound technicians, etc. who have witnessed SHINee performing live are always blown away, because in the parts of the song where most singers would take a break and rely on the backing track vocals to cover their voices so they can catch their breath and recover, this is where the SHINee members actually ramp it up and become their most powerful. Therefore, in their live performance of "Juice" SHINee sounds even better than in the recorded version, all while dancing full out. What makes SHINee so great is that even if they are singing a cappella while performing this high energy choreography, they sound just as flawless. That's why, even as rookies, senior artists would stop what they were doing to watch SHINee's rehearsals on music programs because SHINee's vocal talent is that impressive. When SHINee debuted, they were the first group to demonstrate how it was possible to sing live while performing complex choreography and still maintain stable vocals. Before SHINee, the thought within the industry was that it wasn't possible to sing live and also perform high intensity choreography at the same time. At that time, most groups would either sing live and have simple choreography, or they would have crazy cool choreography, but lip sync to their recorded vocals. SHINee completely changed the Kpop industry and upped the standard of what it meant to be an idol singer. SHINee live is unmatched. It's literally referred to as the SHINee standard. It's the standard that all other groups strive to reach, and SHINee are the vocalists that all other artists try to emulate. SM really hit gold when they formed this group, and I don't think it can ever be duplicated in the same way again. There's been a lot of debate whether "Hard" or "Juice" should be the lead/title track on SHINee''s Hard album -- SM wanted "Juice," to be the lead track, but the SHINee members insisting on "Hard." At this point, I think we all just need to trust SHINee knows what they are doing. Over the past 15/16 years, we have seen the SHINee members prove time and time again, that they know how to be one step ahead of the trend. For example, Jonghyun wanted his song "Deja Boo" to be his solo debut song, but SM insisted on his song "Crazy (Guilty Pleasure)." And in the end, Jonghyun was right. "Deja Boo" became so popular as a b-side track that it had SM scrambling to find ways to showcase the song, proving Jonghyun knew what he was doing. And, "View" -- which is one of SHINee's most popular songs -- wasn't even a contender for SHINee's Odd album, until Jonghyun rewrote the lyrics and the members pushed SM to make it their lead track. In their "SHINee's - 15m Roadtrip comeback show", Key, Minho and Taemin revealed that they all spent a lot of extra time making sure everything felt right with their Hard album. They wanted to release the album on May 25, the day of their 15th anniversary, but things needed work. For example, there was a section in "Hard" that needed some tweaking. So, instead of just rushing to get it done, they took the time to make it perfect. Key said, that when they heard the final version of "Hard" -- which was sent to them while they were in Japan filming their special pre-release "The Feeling" MV -- his legs went numb and he knew "Hard" had to be their title track. LOL I think the members chose wisely. Although I love "Juice" because it does a really good job of showing exactly what makes SHINee one of the best of the best, and no one can perform the way they do. However, "Hard" has a much more universally marketable/catchy sound when it comes to appealing to the mainstream public, and the choreography lends itself to being much easier to use for things like TikTok challenges, etc. than "Juice" would have been.
"I don't think there's a group of guys that sound this good together." - HIGHLY agreed, AND I don't think you've heard TVXQ (OT5)/JYJ, especially when harmonization, layering are what you like 😢. I hope you can check them out and also more Taemin, including b-sides.
This is making me realize that shinee did lose something with jonghyun's passing :(. There was just a sense of pure musicality and harmony driving their music when he was still alive that i feel like they haven't fully rediscovered 💔
SHINee and Red Velvet are my two ultimate groups. Their vocal combination, ability to experiment, and the ground they cover in their music are unmatched.
Thank you for the reaction. Good to see you both getting excited about the songs! I’m happy you are beginning to understand that SHINee cannot be categorized as they can-and do-try anything. The common thread is their exceptional and unmistakable voices. You can’t fake their quality and skills. I would be up for another reaction; there have been some excellent recommendations in other comments.
SHINee hailed as Princes of Kpop when they were just on their earlier days says so much about them. Real talent. Real art. 16 years and SHINee and the members remains relevant up to this very moment. SHINee is a very resilient group. They are contemporary and they did almost every genre even when other groups are afraid to try. SHINee Legend. If you want to hear how good their live vocal please do check SHINee Acapella performance and SHINee version of IU's Dear Name... and their live version of their song KIND also on IU's show The Palette. Looking forward to more SHINee and hope to also see Taemins dance practice videos reaction, promise its great.❤😊
Please do their live concerts...pick any song...But I will say Orgel, In my room ( oldie..but a favorite of mine..this might not be your cup of tea...but its a great song), if you like ballads...I lost track...I am sure someone will save me and add a great collection 😅
Satellite is amazing song... I hope you can check the individual song of the kings of shinee, onew, key amazing, minho and taemin with his new album❤❤❤
Title tracks are typically (but not always) a safer choice. B-sides are probably gonna be more what appeals to you guys. Not just for SHINee, but in general. It might make a better experience for you guys if people request a mix of title tracks and b-sides. Additionally, SHINee's general concept is/was to be experimental. So there is a lot of variation and layering. I don't know if there's going to be a group that appeals more to your tastes, unfortunately. (Individual songs yes, but not in terms of general discography.)
Someone should recommend some of SHINee's b-sides on the "One of One" album, the jazzier ones. They really seem to like the jazzier sounds. They also may like "Romeo & Juliet".
*Let's gooooo juice is hereeee!* a couple of days ago i commented that we needed juice on the list 😅😂 🤔i can see comparisons between juice's chorus and exo's 'monster' chorus tbh
Kazinho's "maybe they are just better than other groups" ended me 😂😂😂😂
I mean I have to agree XD
I genuinely do feel like you guys would LOVE jonghyun’s music. The layering and production in his songs is top tier.
Yes omg ❤
I HOPE they give his songs a try. I think they’ll like it
Yes . JONGHYUN ❤ So amazingly talented
Yes, his B-sides though!
SHINee is THAT talented. That's why they execute these ideas so well
Law if you see this, please request Trigger, Orgel, Odd Eye and Queen of New York!!
YASSSS
And since these two seem to really like vocal layering ... most if not all of the She Is album
YES ORGEL
I also thought of Orgel. And also Code. And Satellite...

Yess. I think even the songs they didn't like before would be much better live. Especially because of this remixes and ofc their vocals!
Seconding this comment. SHINee live really is the best version of SHINee
Yes, the concert versions are so worth watching
SHINee's Symptoms was written by Jonghyun and I think he's a genius because he delivered the lines in the way the song matches the members' best qualities. I think you will enjoy listening to Jonghyun's solo songs because he likes to play around with a lot of instruments and layers of his own voice. I hope there is a video of solo songs by him on this channel
Also, thank you for this reaction!
He also wrote Already for Taemin and made it so it would fit Taemin's vocal strengths. Which it does perfectly!
He really was a gem 💎
the vocal layering and playfulness is one of the reasons that SHINee is my favorite group. there are actually producers who have stated they prefer working with SHINee because they get to try more experimental and vocally challenging stuff since they know SHINee can pull it off!!

Yes I feel like shinee songs are made for live stages
SHINee bsides never disappoints us

I agree, body rhythm is amazing but it hits 10000 times more when you see the live stage videos. It’s definitely THAT performance song.
I agree!!! SHOULDVE DONE SATELLITE I LOVE SATELLITE!!!!
Please react to other SHINee's b-sides like Identity, Cøde, Odd Eye, Selna 6.23, etc

There's nothing in kpop industry like SHINee, and seeing how the Boygroups industry are going... will never have anything like them again.
Damn 😢 It's true tho. I love Shinee
SHINee's bsides are worthy of title tracks, they are very well produced, and the vocals are unsurpassed.
Other bsides that I would like them to react to are: *SHIFT, Satellite, Queen Of New York, Orgel, CØDE, Selene 6.23, Evil, Hitchhiking*
But there are many more 😊
Symptoms literally changed the trajectory of my life. Its soOoooOoo good~
Totally agree that their level of vocal layering and color is what sets them apart from other groups - all 5 of them have unique voices and it's always great to see talent actually get fully utilized! Also, I think very apt that you guys described Prism as MJ but modern - the album that Prism came from had a modernized 1980s retro concept :)
For more vocal layering I humbly request Odd Eye, Satellite, and Orgel! I also love 10x. And just because I wanna see the world burn... Woof Woof lol!! And they still have lots of title tracks like Dream Girl and 1 of 1 to listen to!
In terms of production, it'd be neat for you guys to explore Jonghyun's solo work. I think once you listen to his stuff, it becomes very evident that his style/taste was a significant creative influence on the group's songs.
based on this, we NEED u guys to react to jonghyun's she is album.
Shinee Vocal layering/harmonies is to die for... ❤ Anyway just happy that you love the bsides.
Thank you for this reaction. Your honest reaction is so refreshing and you don't say the same everyone is saying to every group. So thank you for seeing what makes Shinee special.
You said about why weren't symptoms, up and down and one minute back title tracks - they were b-sides but they were performed live along side each of the title tracks during promotion - so on music shows people heard both the title and those during the promotion time :)
Thats why I love SHINee so much - they are the exception, not the rule. I just objectively think they are better 🤷♀
and you would be 100% right
Just do a weekly SHINee video from here on out.
THANK YOU LAW FOR REQUESTING SYMPTOMS
MORE SHINEE REACTIONS!!!
Someone recommend SHINee Quasimodo Live, almost no one has reacted to that song and it is very beautiful
That's literally one of the best kpop song to ever exist and even Shawol don't talk about it😭😭😭 I hope they react to it.
Romantic & Senorita also 👍👍👍
YES YES YES
Ahhh!! Love all these songs! And well SHINee are just 👌👌👌 Their bsides are gem
More b-sides please! Or even better live performances of their ballads- their harmonizations are *chef’s kiss*
They should've been recommended to listen to songs written and/or produced by SHINee members from the beginning😂😂😂
And please please do their ballads next 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Also...
Symptoms is one of my fav SHINee songs of all time!!
Suggestions ... In My Room, Romeo and Juliet (SWC V version), 1000 years always by your side, Sleepless Nights, Moon River Waltz, World Where You Exist, Password (SWC 2014 version), Nightmare (SWC IV version)
SHINee is absolutly perfect!!!
SHINee b-sides are gold!! Watching and hearing their live performances of them are on another level!
Same for their solo work, especially Jonghyun’s, always check the b-sides! 🩵
Ya'll have to watch them live!!!!
Up
Love hearing the opinions haha shinee has tons of weird experimental songs, and i truly believe they have a song for everyone 🤣 ones youll hate and ones youll love.
1000% AGREE - SHINee is one of those rare groups that just knows how to utilize and distribute their lines so well. AND they use the most unconventional notes and melodies ever, and just know how to have fun! I like to say that SHINee are exceptional at giving you musical orgasms haha
shinee bsides we love u 🫶
Symptoms is my fave song. it’s so good. just good singin!
Do you guys ever react to live performances because I swear it’s a whole other experience watching them live
very rarely, i think like once or twice for mamamoo and the sorts
Jjong KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING
SHINEE is one of the only groups where all 5 members voices layer so well and that's why their discography is so good
Yeah, Shinee's best music is def in their b-sides
ahh yes....of course SHINee, just too good. always wins. legends. icons.
everyone should watch symptom live
I thank whoever suggested you listen to their music, they are really talented
If you want to see a title track that REALLY highlights Shinee’s vocals please check out Tell Me What To Do! You will love it!!!
Nice reaction👍 but please react to their other b-side songs spoiler, an encore, selna 6.23, like a fire, odd eye,Queen of New York, hitchhiking and colorful, thank you
they are better singers than other groups!!
I suggest listening to Orgel and 1 of 1.. they're two of my favorite songs.
Orgel sends me to another world where I'm lost in the beautiful vocals layered so well over a music box melody and 1 of 1 is just a bop.
symptoms my fav shinee song
Not to be that person but you actually need ALL the members in the group to be great singers, above average doesn't cut it. Sm groups' b-side tracks have a lot of vocal layering and harmonization, you should check them out.
I just wanna know what you meant by the first part? Because everyone is this group can sing
BTW JUICE IS AWESOME And does NOT have an EXO sound!
it does sound like it belongs to any other male idol group tho
In SHINee's "Juice" performance video, I think the "sun" is supposed to remind you of a giant orange. The song is called "Juice," so I think the orange sphere might be designed to represent the theme of the song. We also see it turn into a red sphere and a silver crystal-like ball. LOL. I think the "sun" is changing colors and becoming more powerful to go along with how the song is getting more fierce. (And as you noticed, in the beginning they showed an eclipse, which could potentially be connected to SM Entertainment's SM Culture Universe storyline.)
If you want to see how they filmed this video, check out their "(HARD) #8 'Juice' dance practice and performance video" behind the scenes filming video. This will show you exactly what went into making this video and what it was like on set, etc.
I interpret the lyrics of the song as a big flex about how they are at the top of the game and they have that special "juice" that makes everyone want them and fall in love with them, etc. (As you may know, "Juice" is a slang term that, in this case, I think means "the it factor," i.e. the thing that makes you attracted to me, etc.)
Fun fact: The phrase, "Incoming!!!", the laughing, and the phrase "Let's get it" in the background, as well as the phrase "Let's change the scenery, shall we" in the middle of the song, are the signature style and voice of Dem Jointz, who is one of the producers of this track, along with Kenzie.
All the backup dancers fell down at the end because the only ones who could "survive" by the end of that performance were the SHINee members. :D
As you are starting to discover, SHINee are some of the best dancers in the whole industry.
Which just goes to show you why they are both SM groups.)
In their "Juice" performance video Onew -- SHINee's leader and one of the top vocalists in the industry -- was unable to participate in this performance, so the other members covered his parts in the song.
LOL
I think the members chose wisely.
PLEASE REACT TO SATELLITE BY SHINEE NEXT TIME
"I don't think there's a group of guys that sound this good together." - HIGHLY agreed, AND I don't think you've heard TVXQ (OT5)/JYJ, especially when harmonization, layering are what you like 😢. I hope you can check them out and also more Taemin, including b-sides.
I really love "live in the ice" the harmonies oml😮❤
@@leabaden5935 Me too, Love in the Ice is one of my favorites!
Shinee my beginning in love with K-pop
Please react to SHINee-Romeo+Juliette Live(SHINee WORLD V In Seoul)
SHINee-Sleepless Night Live (SHINee WORLD III In Seoul)
This is making me realize that shinee did lose something with jonghyun's passing :(. There was just a sense of pure musicality and harmony driving their music when he was still alive that i feel like they haven't fully rediscovered 💔
Just make kazinho a shawol already, once into SHINee there's no turning back
😂 yes
them losing their minds over symptoms # so real
Well and SHINee can execute it LIVE better than the recording 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
"Why isn't this a title track?!!?!", Welcome to the world of kpop b-sides😊
SHINee and Red Velvet are my two ultimate groups. Their vocal combination, ability to experiment, and the ground they cover in their music are unmatched.
PLSSS THE LIVE PERFORMANCES ARE ALSO SO GOOD
SHINee is truly one of the best group's in KPOP
We need an onew video react. With live performances included. Nessun dorma is a must
please someone make them react to KEYs solo songs
Body Rhythm is one of my favorite songs. And the videos of them live is fantastic.
17:43 Exactly! This is why I became a fan of SHINee... they're so amazing!
Thank you for the reaction. Good to see you both getting excited about the songs! I’m happy you are beginning to understand that SHINee cannot be categorized as they can-and do-try anything. The common thread is their exceptional and unmistakable voices. You can’t fake their quality and skills. I would be up for another reaction; there have been some excellent recommendations in other comments.
oh yeah i love symptoms and Prism too much...they're just awesome
I'm more excited watching reactors reacting to B-sides
SHINee hailed as Princes of Kpop when they were just on their earlier days says so much about them. Real talent. Real art. 16 years and SHINee and the members remains relevant up to this very moment. SHINee is a very resilient group. They are contemporary and they did almost every genre even when other groups are afraid to try. SHINee Legend. If you want to hear how good their live vocal please do check SHINee Acapella performance and SHINee version of IU's Dear Name... and their live version of their song KIND also on IU's show The Palette. Looking forward to more SHINee and hope to also see Taemins dance practice videos reaction, promise its great.❤😊
We are doing bsides but there's no Selene and An Encore? Who the hell is choosing these songs 😭
Anyways we love some shinee appreciation ❤

Identity and satellite should've been here too from their recent songs... Depending on the type of songs you guys liked...
SHINee more💎💎💎💎💎
Satellite is amazing song... I hope you can check the individual song of the kings of shinee, onew, key amazing, minho and taemin with his new album❤❤❤
5HINee FOREVER ❤
glad you guys liked these songs!!
lmao I love this
Thank you for your reaction 💎
Title tracks are typically (but not always) a safer choice. B-sides are probably gonna be more what appeals to you guys. Not just for SHINee, but in general. It might make a better experience for you guys if people request a mix of title tracks and b-sides.
Additionally, SHINee's general concept is/was to be experimental. So there is a lot of variation and layering. I don't know if there's going to be a group that appeals more to your tastes, unfortunately. (Individual songs yes, but not in terms of general discography.)
SHINee doing experimental work with all of these songs, Jonghyun was a master on it, they continued the legacy, forever 5❤
The last song juice was produced by the same producer Dem Joints who produced a lot of kpop songs for groups like Exo and NCT to name some :)
Someone should recommend some of SHINee's b-sides on the "One of One" album, the jazzier ones. They really seem to like the jazzier sounds. They also may like "Romeo & Juliet".
U Need Me is so goooood
*Let's gooooo juice is hereeee!*
a couple of days ago i commented that we needed juice on the list 😅😂
🤔i can see comparisons between juice's chorus and exo's 'monster' chorus tbh
