This performance of "Dynamite" in particular -- which is from their SHINee World Concert IV (SWC4) in Seoul from 2015 (the same concert as the "Excuse Me Miss" performance you watched) -- is super iconic. And just so you know, he can't put his shirt back on because it would take too much time and effort and they aren't done with this set, they go right into their next song after this. So, Minho finishes the set with just his jacket on and one button holding it closed. Minho really wasn't supposed to take his shirt all the way off. If you see any other performance of this song, you will see that all he does is unbutton his shirt, but during this performance he got so swept up in the moment that he just took his shirt all the way off. When EXO covered it, they actually brought SHINee in to do the bridge part FOR them... The one that did the windmill in Everybody is Onew (real name Jinki) and the one that removed the shirt/jacket in Dynamite and Body rhythm is Minho.
The funny thing is Minho doesn't do it often haha. Only this last two years has be been showing off more. Other than that it had been about 10 years since the last time. You need to do an album review without the visuals to really soak in the music, so I disagree with your audience. I think you should do lyrics and then the live so the music is still a highlight so I dont know if you are getting the full understanding of their musical tones. They are so distinct. I know they are eye candy, but their voices is what will live on.
I saw a comment that I agree with. Now if you are just gonna listen to songs based on spicy performance (not saying its bad btw) then going live is a good way to go. But if you would like to deep dive into albums for the music and the lyrics then album reactions and lyric videos are the way to go. Sometimes songs might be hard to understand since they don't translate as well, but overall it is a good way to pay attention to the instrumentals and vocals. As long as you dont mind watching or reacting to a song twice (once for the lyric video and once for the Live) then I personally don't mind watching you react to a song twice either. When I fall for a group I love seeing people appreciate and react to music for the first time. It reminds me of those feelings I had when I firsts listened to their music or watched a stage . Key studied in Australia and New York when he was in middle school for a short time, before becoming a trainee, and he has said his grandmother had an English tutor when he was growing up, so that's why he is so fluent in English and why he is so into western culture and style and his favorite foods to cook are western dishes, etc. He also has a photographic memory, which helps him remember and understand languages more quickly than most, and it's why he can memorize things like songs and choreography on the spot and perform them almost better than the original. But you're right, he is one of the best non-native English speakers in Kpop.
