Did my first clutch today on my mams Peugeot 207 1.4 Petrol... this is the only video I needed to refer to. Took me 10 hours but with the LUK kit costing €70, €20 for oil and €5 for a large tin of brake clean I got away with the job done for less than €100. Most difficult parts for me were getting at the starter motor bolts deep down the back of the engine and also getting that plastic bracket (3 bolts) off that holds the gear linkages, no space to work and VERY awkward. Flywheel was in great shape (no hotspots, heat marks or grooves) as was the pressure plate, release bearing, clutch fork and the gearbox input shaft (zero play, rock solid 😁). Replaced all the parts obv but whoever had the car before must have rode the clutch when driving cause it was only the clutch friction plate that was worn and it was down to the bones... car had only just started occasionally slipping but I'm glad I got this done today. Liked that I didn't have to drop the subframe and could just rest the gearbox on it while I worked on the bellhousing & flywheel fitting the parts. The gearbox weighed more than I thought as well but luckily it didn't take long to get it lined up and back on. Kevin doesn't actually show fitting the clutch plate & pressure plate or the release bearing and greasing up the clutch fork & gearbox input shaft but all easy. The one thing I did do was buy a cheap flywheel locking tool on Amazon which I used to lock the flywheel with a bellhousing bolt before I fitted the pressure plate bolts and also a universal alignment tool (LUK kit doesn't come with one in the box), again cheap on Amazon. Job was a 100% success and in summary it's a job any competent car diy'er could manage I feel. Thanks a million Kevin for a fantastic video mate 👍

Replacing the clutch on the Peugeot 207 1.6 VTI model right now. pretty much the same. Just sucks that the gearbox removal isn't that easy, but after watching this video, it seems pretty good to just lean it away enough so you can get to the clutch and the throwout bearing. @@WMCS I dont think so :) Im just finishing my mechanical engineering degree-but i am no mechanic!!! Could i ask, my clutch just slips the odd time if i floor the throttle, and the bite point is at top of clutch pedal. Is it needing replaced or can it be adjusted?
Is there any adjustment required for the clutch while swapping to new one or the hydraulic line adjusts itself? I will be doing it together with a subframe swap so would you do it same way? Firstly put it up then same process as you did but before unloading the gearbox from the frame i would take off exhaust connector then few screws for the frame, drop links after what swap it and screw it back, all rest then do as you did. I am asking because i may be missed something in the subframe swap process that would be required or there is something to do with it as you mentioned it is better when it is off on one side but if it is totally off then gear box would not be supported by top frame mounts. Is that all the subframe drop would be for? Is there steering rack connected to the frame? I doubt it is not so i have to reconnect that too probably and would that be all? Any advice?
Hi, i have a peugeot 207 active and am trying to remove the clutch pedal but can't seem to get enough clearance to remove the Bush to remove the clutch and brake pedal, any tips?
Are these clutches Self adjusting? Ive fitted on one a 2009 207, TU3A. Bite point is very high still and being told its because i didnt use a self adjusting clutch tool? just used the conical plastic clutch alignment tool. any ideas? thanks Video was very useful when i did the clutch.
Taylor D that’s completely incorrect. Self adjusting clutch only works as the pressure plate springs gets weaker and it slowly adjust. But that’s after years of driving. If biting point is still high you need to check the correct clutch was supplied. As there is two clutch kit that will fit. But slight difference in the thickness of pressure plate. You need to use an AP clutch.
Taylor D the part number will be correct. But I’ve experienced this issue first hand. In the 207. And the l07. LUK seems to have a slight difference don’t know why..

To remove the gearbox fully. Just drop partially drop the subframe on one side.
