No waffle, time wasting or ego....just an amazingly detailed tutorial. Thanks so much!
Glad you enjoyed it!
We like waffles tho
I don't have a 206 or even intend to get one but I watched your video.... all DIY videos should be like this. Thank you.
You're very welcome, thanks for watching !
This video was also important to me. I followed your directions and didn't have any problems. The only different thing I did was to place a spirit level on the engine to know how much to lower the left wheel to let all the oil out. Thank you very much.
You're very welcome !
I wish to express my gratitude to you Sir for showing the quick and easy way ofdeposito g oil I to my car. From South Africa
Thank you for watching !
Very positive video for 206 owner
Thanks !
Excellent video!! Everything is done with so much care and confidence.
Thank you!
good, clear video and great lighting..thanks !
You're very welcome, thanks for watching !
Thank you so much man, great work!
You're welcome, thank you ! :)
Those plastic rivets are so damn well designed
Why do you release it when the nut opens? Top the tiger bucket until the oil spills into it
Great videos. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Perfect video. Did see the fill plug on the side of my one but still filled it via the one by the side of the battery like you did. Good detailed video 👍🏻
Thank you !
how do you check if the level is correct
Great detailed video. It's helped a lot, thanks 😊 How do you know when it's full though, because doesn't some of the oil stay in the clutch, so it might not need the full 2 litres?
Yes I also wondered this. There just isn't one on the newer MA5 boxes, you just get the car level, drain it out, fill through the breather, say prayer. At least that's what I do.
You can also measure the amount that came out and put the exact amount back in, given you have no leaks ofcourse..
Thank you for the detailed video. I was able to change the oil with ease. I did wonder, is there not a filter to change with this like the engine oil?
You're welcome, no there's no changeable filter in the transmission
Great video informative and no blah blah good 👍🏾!
Thanks for watching !
Great video, tells what you need to know & do.
Thanks for watching!
Carros complicados para cualquier servicio, lo sencillo lo hacen muy laborioso
Yes Peugeot do that ! :)
If u put lower viscosity oil in it , u may have leaks on your drive shaft seals.. as ive found out lol.. slightly thicker cured this problem.. 75 or 80w
Excelente información ℹ️ saludos amigo
Thank you !

Muchas gracias. 👍👌
You're welcome !
Thank you for a really great video. How does the gearbox feel with fresh oil? Were you having issues before you changed the oil? If so what were they?
There was no problem, just a routine change :)
My Peugeot 206 is water input of gearbox... I changed 3 times oil... 75w 80... But is bad to change gear... 1, and 2
Rule number 1: Only open the drain plug once you have found and opened the filler opening.
awesome job
Thanks! 👍
is this same with Peugeot 301 1.6 HDi Manual Transmission? planning to change mine.
I've never worked on a Peugeot 301 so I'm not sure. There could be a few different transmissions for that vehicle so it might be similar to the one in my video or maybe like this one: ruclips.net/video/95QarTgx4mI/видео.html
It could also be completely different. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
Thank you for showing the process
You're welcome !
Hai Sir, how many litter for naza bestari 206. Tq
2 liters :)
How do I check the gear box oil level I dont see a reservoir for it
2 Liters more or less. There is No controll Option.
Whats the diametre of the drain plug? (To buy new washer)
This is the plug type in the video but there could be different sizes, depending on the type of transmission: www.auto-doc.ie/ridex/16365351
Is the process the same with a 406 coupe?
I haven't worked on one so I'm not sure, but depending on the type of manual transmission on the car it's probably quite similar. However, the drain bolt may be on the underside of the gearbox and the filler/oil level hole could be on the side of it.
MERTZ IN FRANCE .................
Puede mostrar un vídeo del 307 1.6 Automática..por favor
I don't have access to that car. Sorry
what is the yellow/green wire bolted at 8.36 next to the oil cap please.??thx..because it's not on my 206 SW (2005)..??
I'm not actually sure to be honest. Unfortunately I don't have the 206 anymore so I can't check it out directly. I'll see if I can find out
Thank you ...
You're welcome!
thank you very much! I really needed this video! In my case the level plug is on the side you showed in the picture (the 8mm square socket is present), can I fill it from there? Does the oil have any specification or is it enough that it is 75w80? Should the oil be drained cold or hot?
The oil will drain quicker if it's warm. If you fill the gearbox through that level plug, make sure the car is perfectly level on the ground. You keep filling it until oil starts pouring back out that hole and then you have the correct level once it stops trickling out. The manual suggest that you go for a drive and then stop and give the oil time to settle back to the bottom and then check the level again, then top it up if necessary. Here's one example of the oil you can use: www.gsfcarparts.com/980aa0680
@@screwsnutsandbolts thanks for all the advice and for creating tutorials on the beloved peugeot 206! I order the oil and proceed with the replacement
Thanks
You're welcome
Thanks for the video. I also have a 1.1i 206 from 2001. Did you have any symptoms that made you do it? I didn't know it was necessary to change it.
No, no symptoms. I was just demonstrating how to carry out the process.
good job ......How i change the transmission fluid (gearbox oil) on a 2005 Peugeot 206 1.4 petrol with the automatic transmission.
I haven't worked with an automatic transmission so I don't know, sorry.
@@screwsnutsandbolts thanks alone pro
@@screwsnutsandbolts allot
You're welcome, good luck
Thank you! Great job! Is this the same opération for a 1.6 16v ?
Thanks. I'm sure about the 1.6 16v. It should be a similar but the drain plug could be on the underside of the gearbox and the filler on the side.
@@screwsnutsandbolts thank you so much my dear!
is it 8mm for 206cc too?
I would assume it's the same, if it's also a manual transmission
How many liters are needed?
The transmission in this video needs 2 liters of 75W80 oil
would this work for a 2008 from 2018 gasoline? same location?
I haven't worked on a 2008 so I'm not sure
Plz how long should one use before changing the gearbox oil
About 50,000 miles on the clock
@@screwsnutsandbolts thanks for the response. Really grateful
👍
Thanks !
Wow 🤓🤓🤓 😛💣💚
Thanks !
The oil is the same for 206 2004 1.6 gasoline?
Yes it is
@@screwsnutsandbolts It's an automatic transmission right?
No this is a manual transmission
Which mileage you did it?
After about 50 thousand miles
You sure its called ma5 transmission? And you know if its the same gearbox in peugeot 206 xt 1.4 2001
According to the manual the MA5 transmission drain plug is on the side of the differential housing whereas on the BE4/5 transmission it's at the bottom of the differential housing. This information is for the 2002 to 2009 models so I don't know if it's the same for the 2001 version.
@@screwsnutsandbolts but do you know if it should be the same gearbox?
I don't know, sorry
@@tomerboochnik1003 Maybe have a look under the car and see if it's the same shape as this one because there are a few other videos on RUclips where they either empty it from the side or underneath. The Haynes manual for 307 has the MA5 or BE4/5 but my 307 has the same as this video.

Thanks !
What about the oil filter?
There's no filter on this transmission
@@screwsnutsandbolts Ha ha ha!
It would have been easier and faster to remove the reverse light switch and fill the gearbox from there. That way the air would have escaped through the breather hole
I had thought about that but I didn't want to complicate things too much :)
75w80 or 75w90
75w80 is recommended in the manual
@@screwsnutsandbolts which better do you think... 75w80 suzuki genuin oil or 85w90 total transtec 4,

Tu aurai dû remplir par le bouchon latéral (bouchon niveau) et le problème est réglé en 5 mn. bonne continuation.
Thanks, but there is no side filler on this transmission
