- I finally did it. I got a Tilt Rotator for the E50! This attachment is going to make jobs more efficient, easier and fun! I went with a Steel Wrist as it is supported by my Bobcat dealer along with having a good local support network. In this video I test it out with a bucket, ripper and a CMP NRG82 Grapple as well as going through the computer options of the Steel Wrist.
Equipment Used:
Excavator: 2022 Bobcat E50 R2-Series
Tilt Rotator: Steel Wrist X06 S40 with Integrated Grab & S40 Quick Coupler
Grapple: CMP NRG82
nice to see that tiltrotator is becoming more common in the states. in Norway, where I live, almost all machines have this. from 1.5 ton to 40 ton
Same here in Denmark.
I don't like this overuse of the word "insanely", but the usefulness of this rotator is beyond sanity, for sure. You could build a sandcastle with this.
That install likes really neat. Congratulations on the Steelwrist. Fantastic to have your one dealer support both your machine and the tiltrotator.
Thanks! Yeah I am impressed with the install as well, lines are all nice and tight and its a big bonus having dealer support to be a one stop shop when something inevitably needs service!
Great video bud! Ty! Great angles, and explanation, especially the pressure in the couplings!
Glad you got something meaningful. Standard system in Sweden since the year 30 back.
This high tech tiltritator diffidently is a game changer for new fresh learners .old timers would resist this gadget for sure ..plus it is so expensive and sensitive and prone to damage if not used wisely and the list goes on and on.that is why many people wouldn't even consider trying it even though they are capable to buy it.good luck and keep up the good work.
I definitely don't agree on the "sensitive and prone to damage" even if somewhat abused.
I know you probably know this now. I would would always do something a little different when attaching my main aux line on my E35. I found once I turn off the machine leave the starter switch on make sure the left arm is down then release hydraulic switch. At this time it will equalize then disconnect. This is the only way it doesn’t give me a problem when reconnecting. If I do any other sequence it will make me cuss a little. lol
Love that Steel wrist. When I get me a E88 I will look at them. Love the videos.
Mac needs nourishment. I think he hears the dinner bell😊.
Congratulations on your new toy!!
Haha, mac is a fluffy boy. No lack of nourishment in my house! Thanks!
Nice setup, I like the interface, seems pretty straight forward but also able to do some pretty advanced customisation right in the panel without having to use a computer.
congrats
I love the justification and reasoning- I try this on a weekly basis with my wife for stuff..😝😝
Sweet !!!
Super 😊😊😊
a water key fits the diverter valve on the grab
Glad you got one. I am still not sold on them yet. 😮
Yeah it all depends on your setup. Certainly can get away without one if you have the man power to make up for the limitations of the normal bucket.
@@CarlsonSonLandscapingLLC this is true. I usually got a lead hand and a couple labourers helping out 👍.
I could see in the video you were pretty rusty but got quite good at it. Definitely a learning curve
Having the hands definitely makes it harder to justify. For sure there is a learning curve, but I presume Ill pick it up quick as I play a lot of video games haha
Definitely a game changer. After 50, those elbows and shoulders just say no huh!?
What does the SW system weigh? Also how much does your e50 weigh? Congrats on the awesome new system! Look forward to seeing it put to work!
The Coupler and Rotator are about 500 lbs w/o any bucket and the machine is 11.3k lbs. Thanks!
steelwrist is the lightest in the class by about a 100#
Whats the price on it?
Do you miss not having the thumb? Were you required to remove it due to the pin/coupling setup or did you just not find it useful?
Brian, did you consider the hybrid tilt/rotator from CMP Attachments? I know that it lacks some of the versatility of a traditional tilt-rotator, but their selling point was cost. Like one-half to two-thirds the price of a traditional tilt-rotator. Just curious of your thoughts.
Otherwise, excellent overview of your new purchase. 😊
I had looked at that and ragnartech, but I really wanted the full package rotator so I could do the things i demo'd in the computer plus in cab quick attach (and the grab!). Cost wasn't so much an issue, beyond the time to save up and get it.
woah, the clinometer is non functional on mine. going to have to ask about that if yours is working
according to the dealer the clinometer doesnt work on x04 x06. is yours functional?
So does this make the bobcat buckets useless at this point when you go to the rotator ? I have 3 diff buckets and as you know there not cheap. Would love one of these. Thanks for the video
Dave
Yeah, the tilt rotator uses an S40 size pin grabber system, so you can't use the bobcat buckets with it unfortunately.
@@CarlsonSonLandscapingLLC gotcha 👍🏻. Thanks. I’d prob wait till I have a bigger machine anyway. Currently have a e32. After it’s paid for I’m thinking a 50 or 60.
@@Summitoutdoorproductions Don't know your fabricator ability but you could remove the old attachment point of your current buckets and weld a S40 on to the buckets and be able to use them. Most tiltrotator manufacturers sell weld on adaptors which you can weld on to basically any equipment you want to be able to attach.
@@AlexKall yes good point and option to think about. Thanks
I would be interested in the bobcat xchange tilt bucket if you’re selling it
I will keep that in mind, I currently am planning to still use it on my E26
Bucket a little big for machine?
Its the proper size for the machine
hi igen wai nott rent a hammer til youer maskin ))
These things just scream trouble, all the forces that now run from the bucket through this complex swivel/tilt head, it will not holdup with heavy use. And when it breaks it will be unfixable.🧐😣😲😅🤣
Tell that to the folks in europe who have been using them for 40+ years. I use my to the max with my machine and nothing other then a hose has failed in 1000 hours.
You'd be surprised how much abuse these can take. The one thing you should refrain from doing is to use it as a lever and of course make sure to service it.
hi congratulations on your purchase .of tiltrotator with grip. in Sweden, you don't need to connect to the integrated grab. You can drive everything from the seat. It's expensive, but think how much more flexible the vehicle will be in Sweden. We have many good flexible solutions for accessories sweepers, forks, cranes, baits with spreaders, saws, grabs for different sorting, etc. . do you think it's okay to look up where you need to choose the grip. rather the hydraulics etc. Anders Sweden
What do you mean with "one-size-fits-all"?
@@AlexKall sorry wrong word)
