- Starring Jack Shutta and Louise Brooks.
The following presentation of "Windy Riley Goes Hollywood" suffers from visual decomposition and poorly-recorded audio. It was mastered from one of the few surviving prints of this rare independentely-produced short.
The director of the film, William Goodrich, was in actuality Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle who had been blacklisted from working at the major studios.
In all honesty, Louise was a has been by this time. Her " work "' was very limited to say the least. Her connections were long gone and she was very difficult to manage prior to this. I am a huge fan of Louise, but, she dug her own grave. Her career was brief, but stellar. She became an icon, instead of a ordinary movie star.
Love Louise Brooks. What a bombshell. Lots of stars must have got inspiration from her looks & style. She wasnt a great 'talkie actress' as she admitted! She was for me the most beautiful woman ever. Its great to hear her, even if the acting is so awful!
She was breathtakingly beautiful!
Love in all her work!
awful part for louise......in an awful movie LOL BUT what a treat to be able to hear her talk! her voice is great. and very upscale sounding for growing up in kansas.... sounds like the upper west side of nyc or something. wish she had her signature bangs, but i guess by the start of the 30s syles were changing. thanks for posting
More plot holes than a graveyard.
Mary Louise Brooks.
this was about as good as it got for Brooks and talking films, her scenes are in and out .. they never gave her a part in any talking film worth a notice, most beautiful in gods gift to Women, with Frank, Fay (GOD WHAT A BAD ACTOR)
Stunning woman to look at. Not sure she was a very good actress though. Though to be fair, as events turned out, she didn't have much ambition for the screen.
Louise hated Hollywood and she never wanted to be famous.
think she sleep walked thru this one . pity her dancing was obscured
The short is awful, but Louise is always worth watching.
