I have the original A Gentle Rain....what a sweet little game. I'm going to have to pull it out again. Under Falling Skies! I've played it over 20 times, I think, and still am playing Roswell (haven't touched the campaign yet because the base game is so much fun. And it's challenging!) Will probably pick up Calico on Steam unless I win it here (fingers crossed). Heading out to meet a friend now for a game day. I think we'll be playing Knarr and maybe we'll try Kinfire Delve for the first time. Nice list overall! (P.S. Did not realize Kinfire Delve and A Gentle Rain shared the same designer. So cool!)
Calico! I'm happy you reviewed Under Falling Skies... it is a top favorite solo of mine! Have you tried coffee roasters? That is my other top favorite (a bag builder with coffee "beans". I do love calico (more than Cascadia). Shockingly only played one solo physical game last month- Flamecraft for the first time. I really enjoyed it!
Should not you show the game a bit more? I would rather see the game being played or how the components look in general, rather than someone talking about it :)
You got a copy of Inventors of the south tigris, I hate you. However you should compare it with scholars of the south Tigris which is way more interesting and clever than wayfarers. 😘
Calico So cool that you know Kirk. Love my Thunderworks collection. I’m so interested in A Gentle Rain. I’ve been playing so much River Valley Glassworks on BGA and I backed it on KS simply for the solo mode.
At the moment Sleeping gods is at my table and i think it will stay there for a while. Two weeks ago i played Carnegie. Its really good and challenging and i haven´t won it.
I recently traded my copy of Under Falling Skies and have regretted it ever since 😭I've tried other games solo like Calico or Cascadia, but nothing can fill the void of sweet, sweet dice placement.
Have you tried any roll and writes like welcome to, or Dungeons dice and danger? I find that they are quite enjoyable to end the night after work. If it’s dice placement you like, have you tried one deck dungeon? Lots of dice rolling in that one
You can always print and play. I think the files are still available from the publisher or maybe it was on bgg. I have printed it out but haven’t played it yet because I have yet to buy dice for it.
With Under Calico Skies, you will definitely want to check out the Campaign mode. It's a little confusing to set up at first, but you'll get characters with abilities and special scenario rules that really add variety to the puzzle. You'll also "unlock" more content for casual gaming sessions.
I really like Under Falling Skies but have only gotten it to the table a few times over the past few years, but I don't play solo a lot, and I guess I prefer bigger games in general - whether it's solo or multi-player. Oh, and Space Invaders is the classic arcade game that it seems to be based off. Also, speaking of bigger games, this week I played Scholars of the South Tigris solo for the first time. It was somewhat of a learning curve to understand the rules and icons, but after a few rounds, it was pretty easy to run most of their turns. The toughest part was remembering all the things to check and steps to take each turn. They either take an action or take a rest, but occasionally other things would be triggered too, and it took a while to remember those since they only came up once in a while.
I love seeing the little animations of the cats on the quilt for the digital version! I got Calico a bit ago but it came with a coupon for a discount on the steam game, I might have to check it out!
Hmmm you should totally look in the description box. 😉 🌿
@14:06 - I think you are talking about Space Invaders here.

1st!
It is called Space Invaders Jenna. You are too young to remember sitting playing it while waiting for your pizza at Pizza Hut.
