I'm going to be chatting about some stand out games over the last 2 months, since I didn't do a video for April. Some great plays here!! Aqua is one of our absolute favorites, and we also love Sankore. Have yet to try Tangram City but that sounds like a blast! - G

I grew up playing Spades, so I also love trick taking games. I just did a video on my channel about trick taking games and talking about 6 games that do the mechanism well. I talk about Spades first and then get into a few that add some twists on the standard trick taking.
I really enjoyed Skyrise in the 3 plays so far.
I need to play it again! I've been thinking about it ever since! 😊
Sankore looks so amazing. I remember a few years ago, I was talking to my wife about Mansa Musa (she's a teacher) and I thought wow he would make a great focus for a BG theme. And lo and behold, Sankore. Def wanna try this one.
WOW! How cool! It's a fantastic game Reggie. Definitely recommend trying it. I love the theme as well. There needs to be more school themed games in my opinion. I still need to play Alma Mater as well. 😊 Have you played that one?
I have had Trickerion sitting on my shelf for a while now, it is intimidating, and my wife hates learning new games without a Rodney video :). I find Skyrise to be an amazing mix of Foundations of Rome and RA, both great games! And if you ever wanna play Veiled Fate you should come to the meet up in Waterloo, there are a couple of us that have it, and it is one of our faves :)
Pretty much anything from Mindclash is an insta-back for me.

It is a lighter game, for sure! Because of that, I played it solo vs. the AI while also catching up on Bridgerton 😅 lol!! The time periods aren’t quiiiiite the same, but the vibes were close enough for me!! ☺️
Harmonies!!! lol I just picked up Harmonies today at my FLGS!! 🤩I’ve played it once solo, and it is such a joyful little puzzler!! I adore it already and can’t wait to come back from work tomorrow to table it again!! ☺️☺️☺️

Yes!! I think it is great to have those lighter games in your collection to play. They are easier to get to the table and play for sure. Love that! I’ve been rewatching all of Bridgerton since watch the first part of season 3! I’m actually watching it as I type this comment! Cant wait for part 2 of season 3! 😊👏🏻 and YES! The NOT nice thing about Veiled Fate is that you can rarely find it for less than $80 unfortunately...
Yes, IV Games are typically a bit more pricey. This is because they put so much into the production of their games. They are beautiful! But I totally understand. I definitely recommend if you can find a secondhand copy for a good price! 😊
I've never heard of veiled Fate, but my group loves deduction games, so I'll surely look it up.
Trickerion is one of those games I want to play from such a long time. I've heard of it like 6 years ago from an Italian content creator I follow, but haven't yet got the opportunity to play it. Look amazing though
In the private club in which I go to play board games every monday we have Foundation of rome and I have yet to find someone that dislikes it. Everyone fall in love once they've taken their first 3/4 turns. Such a simple but fun game.
I've tried Harmonies and liked it, the only thing I whish was implemented was a way to control more the disks you're taking from the supply, like the pine cones you have in Cascadia. I've found it way to random and lot of times you're just staring at disks you don't really care about since they don't match at all with the animal cards you've taken
Definitely recommend! It really surprised me how much I enjoyed it! 😊 Yeah there is just something about Foundations Of Rome. It's so simplistic yet so engaging and fun! Loved it!
Ohhh! I totally agree with implementing some sort of token in Harmonies similar to Cascadia. So you could maybe grab 3 from different spots or refresh the market. My only fear is that it could possibly make it too easy to get exactly what you want. Could always try! Sounds fun! 😊
@@TheBoardGameGarden I think the logic why they didn't included it, was that even if you don't care for the animals you should take the disks in order to gain more points from the terrain. Problem is you really want to care about both, not just one aspect
@@FilippoCampana Yeah for sure! As a perfectionist myself I always find myself wanting to accomplish everything and you simply can't. But you can try! 😂
The Magnificent is very underrated! yep solo is good... and didn't Tom Vassal just bag Botany?
I'm excited to play it solo eventually! 😊 And yeah I saw that video. I do agree with a lot of what he said. From the look of it and from what was displayed during the campaign Botany looked as if it was going to be a medium weight euro, which is what I wanted it to be. Unfortunately it is more so a light pick up and deliver game with a lot of randomness. Is it enjoyable? Yes, it's fun but definitely wasn't at all what I was expecting.
