Mike Here and I just wanted to say Nick has been going absolutely beast mode on this studio and I couldn't be more impressed. Like this comment to show Nick the love!!
You need to rate french cleats more, Mike.
Amazing work Nick!!
You've done an amazing job Nick!!
Beast mode Nick! Rar!
Agreed. super impressed Nick. That TBM came out great.
the free handed logo is amazing and colors looked perfectly blended
Agreed!
the sister murph looks metal af
I just noticed the Nova Scotia t shirt at the end. Love it, from Atlantic Canada.
Also, in true board gamer fashion, I noticed you bought nice shelves for your games and a super cheap plastic cabinet for your way more expensive camera equipment 😂
Hell yeah babayyy
The black shadow on that logo just makes it!! Love it!
I'm here for the french cleat content!
Oof, the "Sure Don't" hit hard, good luck with your house hunting Nick
Hits the brakes in the moving truck. And all the games -- 2:44 -- fall open spilling their contents. That's a worse nightmare scenario as a gamer.
Ah love me a good DIY video! Them French cleats… Nice work Nick!
I am 100% also guilty of saving an empty box purely because it is "a nice box". smh 🤣
Yeah......... been there... still there....
IKEA bags are amazing for moving board games , I rented a uhaul trailer and moved mine that way it was great! Didn't think you would be able to wedge the table enough in he truck to keep those games from moving. Well done! Excited for the new studio!
FRENCH CLEAT! i also get very excited when i utilise french cleats.
What an amazing transformation so far! Nick, the logo turned out amazing! Congratulations on your move and your new studio!
Always curious about how a studio is built and how the lighting/equipment comes together so thanks for sharing! And thanks for being so companionable during my work day.
welcome to norcal! i appreciate the giants hat
i think you can get hanging drop ceiling hangers too for extra support and leveling.
Dude the logo came out so badass!!!
Nick, you are an absolute machine. Putting the stud in studio.
The only thing I would've done is put a blanket or one of the shipping mats over the games. Otherwise, nice packing!
If you wanna up your cabinet game a bit, the Husky ones at Homedepot (probably lowes too) are really solid, a bit spendy but they do go on sale fairly often, seeing all that camera equipment shake on that flimy shelf had me spooked lol. I wonder if sliding a dowel into the metal pipes at the connection point would help solve the sag issue? To help with the small game storage, you could even try to get another couple of the actual shelf piece and slide them in halfway to make a few small shelfs if that makes sense lol. Looks great though, cant wait for part 2!
You placed both Horrified games next to each other. Those need to be split up for consistency.
Most industrial kitchens use those shelves and you can load them high with canned goods, so they're more than sturdy enough for as many boardgames as you can possibly desire to put on them.
Yeah that’s why we got them, we’re like “if they’ll use them in kitchens with all that heavy stuff, they should easily be able to handle our games”
I built tons of those for carrying "fast mover" items when I worked at the dairy department at Target. It can hold hundreds of pounds of heavy whipping cream and butter during Christmas season. You bros will be fine.
We use those shelves in our storage room for just about everything…but mostly board games. They’re great!
as long as you dont suddenly accelerate you should be ok... but still an intresting way to load the truck
As long as you don't put anything on top. It'll totally work. Dad approved.
French Cleat!
Thanks for all the effort, equipment, light and love you put into high-quality filming -- having clear videos for over-head play-throughs is so mice. And also, for the behind-the-scenes for how you film. Foster the Meeple recently had a studio tour video were they showed their lights and camera setups. Was really nice to peek behind the scene.
If you want to be 100% safe, that ceiling cross-bar for the camera could also go wall to wall. Maybe once you figure out exact locations.
love you guys. fun to see you back in SacTown
Stonemaier and Restoration both use Panda Mfg for their board game productions, so that's why the boxes are of the highest quality.
Can usually find a Panda head and Panda Mfg on the barcode of their games.
Logo and studio look great! Thanks for the video. Can't wait for The Carpenters Murph spinoff channel
What a packing expert to make it all that way without any casualties. Amazing driving, packing and unpacking!
Looking great, guys!!
Love the progress. Congratulations on moving toward your dream!
Looking good! Can't wait for the studiotour! Awesome job, Nick!
Love the look at the new place and getting it eat up. Looking nice.
If you’re going to get triggered you might want to leave. If it fits, it sits.
Use the 6th shelf to help you start your organization. That way you don’t have to take any off of a full shelf to organize.
The logo looks awesome. Great job.
It is funny that the board games get the nice shelfs but the expensive camera gear gets a cheap plastic shelf 😂
I have those same shelves they are hella cheap but fantastic :)
Love videos like this! Congrats on the new space and the way you're building it out looks great! Any plans to offer tours to anyone traveling through Sacramento? 😅
I had confidence in your driving. 100% safe transport.
Future episodes to organize the shelves! They look good packed full like that... like you are serious gamers.
I want to make some French cleats when I redo my garage. Good idea for sets.
It looks good.
Already said it on Patreon but will say it again - the painted logo! Looks sooo good! At first I thought it was a legit sign hanging. Amazing job Nick ❤️ this is definitely a highlight of the office
Great video! Love the behind the scenes stuff! You guys rock!!!
My question is when is Nick starting his own handy man show?
100% the right move upgrading the casters. I’ve dealt with games in these same shelves and one bent wheel is BAD. You’ll be happy when you transport the games for your first TBM Games Retreat…right…RIGHT!?
I've got a Dungeon Master's Guide
I've got a 12-sided die
I've got Kitty Pryde and Nightcrawler too
Waiting there for me, yes, I do
I do
I've got posters on the wall
My favorite rock group KISS
I've got Ace Frehley, I've got Peter Criss
Waiting there for me, yes, I do
I do
In the garage, I feel safe
No one cares about my ways
In the garage where I belong
No one hears me sing this song
In the garage
Kitty Pride and Nightcrawler. Two of my Favorites. Team XForce
Sorry Excalibur
Guessing @3:23 no significant problems for the boxes. Congratulations on everything bros!
Wow, this was really nice to watch! Your studio is going to be awesome. Well done Nick!
Those are the same type of shelves I have used for years. They should work fine.
Definitely switch the wheels out for industrial ones before moving them to a con loaded. The big weight rating on those types of racks is always for when using the leveling feet and the wheel rating is usually around 1/3 of that. Bigger, stronger wheels will just be more stable too.
Awesome job man. I just moved to a new home and bringing my 400+ game collection along was a chore. So glad it's done. Looking forward to seeing the next one!
Looking forward to playing with you guys since you are in the area.
I think the games won’t budge at all in the truck. I predict they’ll be 100% in tact when you arrive.
I love the painted logo, and everything else. Hope all the things you still need to do go well, and as low stress as possible.
Great video, studio looks great
Such a great BTS video on the studio! Very exciting stuff!
....The HGTV addict in me is deeply satisfied by this video. The TBM looks awesome!
So excited to watch this and happy for you guys being able to create a space for yourselves!
Hey, Harris Ranch! I grew up in Coalinga, and had family members work at the Harris Ranch restaurant. I did not realize that y'all were actually moving to a new city. It's all looking good! I have about 150 games I need to shelve, and those racks, or similar racks, look like they would be a good fit. From LA to Sacramento...sounds like a good move. I love the french cleats! Maybe some acoustic foam for the walls will help with the sound. Nice job on the logo!
That painted logo looks super awesome!!
Been missing you crazy bois for a bit here. Hope you love the new space!
We’ll be back soon!
Awesome job Nick! That logo looks damn pretty with the black outlines. Hope you find a house soon! Greetings from the Netherlands, Suzanne
I feel shamed... You are Packing MASTERS!
Ngl sounds stressful and also fucking cool
I love the logo, the black really makes it pop. Awesome work bros. So excited for you.
Love seeing the progress. Can't wait to see new BG content videos when your work is finished.
Really interesting, thanks a lot to share it with us !!! And cheers to Nick's pants hahaha "nobody gets paid for this content, please subscribe" 😂
For organizing your games, I saw Wil Wheaton do an interview once where he showed off his game collection and they were organized by color, going red->purple across his wall, then white/gray/black on another shelf. An idea for your organization; I wonder how it would look!
We used to do this and loved the way it looked, but it was too hard to maintain unfortunately
New studio looks awesome. Nice Nova Scotia shirt! :).
That looks fantastic Nick. I love the shadowing you got on your logo. Great job guys. ...Also, super jealous of those french cleats.
Logo lookin' crisp!
Looking good Nick
Awesome update, Nick! Greatness takes time and lots of work. Very excited for you and Mike 👍
I knew it would work! Excited to see what comes out of the new studio. ❤
Awesome! Love videos like this (just in general) because seeing just a finished product can make it easy to not realize the hard work that was required to make it happen. Congrats again.
Very cool. Can’t wait to watch all of this
Thanks for the vlog, it's fascinating to see the process you're going through and I'm looking forward to the new content when you're settled in the new studio.
Really enjoyed this!! Had no idea so much goes into setting up a studio! Can’t wait to see the end result. X
This is so clean and awesome. Great job!
Congrats yall!
It's looking so good! So stoked for you guys! Well done Nick for all your hard work!
Looks amazing. Great job Nick!
It all looks really good .
love this, guys! :)
Excited to check it out someday!
We’ll have you out at some point soon! We are wanting to put aside a part of our yearly budget to fly people in to film stuff
This video sponsored by French Cleats
Great video, guys! Why did you decide to move?
I predict a Tsunami of Games! lol
find yourself a girl that talks about you like nick talks about french cleats
I was really wondering what the plan was with all the games in a huge pile in the UHaul. Definitely worried enough games would dislodge that your BGStats will be filled with the game "What game does this belong to?"
Edit: I'm happy to have been proven wrong. Shame!
Are the games going to make it? in some form or another...Damaged games is one thing....but I'm waiting for the component counting streams and the pictures of what does this **fill in the blank** go to.
I think some games will fall, but ultimately it’ll work.
Legit
Movin back to the Sac?! Nice! Are you moving back there too, Nick? Also, I irrationally appreciate French cleats. Kudos.
Yup! We’re all moving back
Looks good! I love the painted logo! I've wanted to paint a mural in my house since I was a kid but never got around to it (and I kept moving after college). We're moving next year hopefully for the last time in a long time so maybe I can finally do something then! Did you just use normal acrylic paint? Did you do any coating on top?
Definitely do a mural at your new place ! Yeah I just used normal acrylic paint, with no coating on top
💜
The only thing triggering me is Patchwork does not have its own shelf.
I remember watching your shelf roasting video where you were Team Vertical. Now here I see you stacking horizontal. Tsk tsk tsk 😉.
But seriously. Looks great. Excited for more! (Oh and maybe more shelf roasting? Please?)
With these shelves it’s tough to go vertical, it hurts our heart
I was thinking the same thing! What happened to team vertical?
Wait, you're in California? Why the heck have I always thought you were in Toronto?!?!?
Also, the studio looks amazeballs, am totes jelly
At first I thought your sister had a Horrified American Monsters shirt on...
Unfortunately not but she DOES have a Creature of the Black Lagoon tattoo!
You're a beast Nick!!!
Great job can't wait for some content ya butz!!!
Just one question Nick........
.........
Hot for Bombadil???
Gonna need some details please
lol Tom Bombadil is a random weird character in the Lord of the Rings books, and he’s my favorite character. So a friend made this bracelet for me
@@TheBrothersMurph
Big fan of the books my man. Named my daughter Lórien. I've always thought Tom was just too random, seemed out of place.
Like he was just there for the rescue. You understand his importance later in Tolkien's lore, but he doesn't fit for me.
Just me maybe.
Loved the bracelet though, thanks for the deets
That’s fair as he’s kind of out of place. But I think he’s necessary as a transition from The Shire to the big open world. I feel like if we went straight from Buckleberry to Bree it would be too jarring.
@@TheBrothersMurph
Huh!!! Alright, I can see that as a writer's tool. I never saw it from that perspective, it always seemed like he wanted to show us the dangers of the big open world and how there were also good guys to help. Seemed a little clumsy, but I think I like your interpretation better.
