After spending several days each in Singapore, and then Manila and Coron Island in the Philippines, we’re swapping the adventure of private lagoon houseboat life for the luxurious resort life of Boracay. This 10-square-mile hotspot was named the best island in the world by Travel + Leisure magazine thanks to its white sand beaches, world-class coral and shipwreck diving, and a reputation for being one of the world's top destinations for relaxation. But before we can put feel the sand in our toes, we have to get there-and that means leaving our current paradise behind.
Besides being known for its white sand beaches, coral reefs, shipwrecks, and nightlife, this tiny, 10 square mile island is also famous for being one of the world's top destinations for relaxation. That helps explain the modern and luxurious resorts that dominate the coasts.
In addition to the Travel + Leisure review, Boracay made the magazine’s Readers Choice top list. It was also at the top of the "Best Islands in the World" list by Condé Nast Traveler and headed that magazine's list of "Top 10 destinations to watch.”

ABOUT US.
We’re the Lockwoods: a family with 3 kids, 5 careers, and endless passion for adventure. Two years ago, we decided it was time for Phil's ad agency to abandon the in-person, 5-day workweek. So they 86’d the office and work hours, allowing our own family to start traveling almost constantly. We now work, school, and explore in a different place every week-from our own mountain and beach homes to exotic villas, resorts, and yachts around the world. As we experience and support diverse cultures, we hope to inspire more families to design a life of freedom and adventure.
Because there’s a new American Dream. It’s one that’s void of templated expectations, templated career paths, templated education, templated families, templated homes, and templated lives. Freedom is no longer an American tagline-it’s just the new, global way of life.
Every day that you spend doing something that doesn’t fulfill you to your core, you’re living your life on pause. You’re deferring genuine family time with no guarantee that there will be a tomorrow or a someday. Some people follow that mentality their entire lives. We’ve chosen to never live that way again.
We appreciate you following our journey. The more our channel grows, the more time we can spend traveling to more locations, contributing to these cultures, highlighting local businesses, and sharing inspiring stories from these communities. So please consider liking, commenting, and subscribing so that you can stick with us for the long haul.

They appear to be a wealthy but modest family, and I appreciate how everyone in the family gets to talk on the vlog. The editing is superb! We appreciate you choose the Philippines!
Thank you so much 🙏 We really appreciate that.
Thank you so much!! Over the past 2 years, we've traded income for travel, so this lifestyle is harder to maintain but we sure love getting to meet so many incredible people and their cultures. 🥰
They helped me recover what I lost trying to trade myself
@Andrea darex cryptos going down steadily though...
That's amazing, I have been hearing about Gergely korpos and their genius mind in the crypto market, please how did you earn such good amount?..
One of the best and “genuine” vlogs I’ve seen featuring the Philippines. This can even pass for ”TV PROGRAM” documentary level. The quality of editing, camera shots, narration and “hosting” was sooo impressive! Not to mention the “LOOKS” of the family are so appealing on the screen.
I love seeing vlogs like this with kids involved in the video because as we all know, u cant fake the kids reaction. Theyre so innocent. You will see in their faces if they’re really enjoying or not. Unlike “over acting” vloggers there faking and exaggerating their reactions to gain subscribers and likes.
Kudos!
Such a big compliment! Thank you so much 🙏
Agree 100%
And I love the fact that they do some research about the places they're visiting! It's not just entertaining but also educational. I've been to Boracay a couple of times and didn't even bother to check where the name came from! So I learned something new today! 😊
Couldn't agree more!
Philippines was truly the Paradise of Southeast Asia🇵🇭
A million thanks for visiting 🇵🇭,you are not just visiting, you are promoting also our country, thank you so much!
It’s our pleasure! We ❤️🇵🇭 and genuinely enjoyed ourselves every second we were there.
Teary eyes here. I love foreigners when they enjoy their stay in the Philippines.
Oh you are so nice. So what am i getting?
Same here
Thanks for showing the luxurious lifestyle that Philippines can offer where other vloggers failed to do so.
i lived in boracay for 5 years, will always be my true home, i just feel in love with the island before i even stepped foot on the island, my boat was several meters from the white beach about to dock on the sand and i was already in love lol
Thank you so much for visiting the Philippines, the Filipino people will always love you all. 🇵🇭🇵🇭😍
You guys rock !!! promoting the tourist spots in the Philippines. The government appreciates.
We're reporting them! So sorry this is happening on our channel. We really appreciate all the genuine comments.
As a Filipino I would say a million thanks to all of you who experienced most of our tourist destination. Thank you also for promoting our country which I felt you are really satisfied on your stay. Keep safe always and again Salamat po. (Thank you with respect)
It's so cute how their son goes after the lizards and his curiosity is fascinating
He is an animal and nature lover. We love his curiosity too 🥰
@@AlwaysBeChanging It was my favorite thing to do around his age. The best trips for me has to have bugs and critters. Be careful, the shrimp he caught packs an extremely powerful punch. An adult mantis shrimp can easily break through skin. Thank you for sharing your experience with us ❤
I freak out like what? 😂 Love his boy
This is good but but but leave wildlife, the animals, alone. Great to take photos of, but not hand holding the creatures. Thank you.
@maharlikabebz2249 Colt now has a youtube channel "Colt in the wild" and there you will see how knowledgable he is about reptiles. 😊
Thanks for all good comments and appreciation of good things about my country the Philippines.. God bless your trip there..
Thank you for travelling to the Philippines❤️ and for your beautiful comments👍😘!! GOD bless your wonderful family 🙏🎉!!!
I love this Family they are so humble the kids are adorable.. Enjoy your stay in Boracay God Bless🙏🌹🇨🇦
You're the best, Liza! Thank you so much for your support ❤️🤗🤗
The quality of the vlogs they make. It's like watching a travel channel. You guys are amazing and entertaining to watch.
Yeah that’s true, it’s like watching the travel channel
Thank you for coming over and for your kind comments about everything. Welcome to the Philippines! It may not be the best tourist destination but Filipinos are the friendliest in the world and we hope that makes up for some rough spots you may encounter along the way. Have fun! Safe travels!
Fyi Boracay beach is the Best Tourist destination in the world, Boracay beach is included in " The Best Places on Earh" according to TIME.
Whoa! I so love your travel vlogs .... you tell it like it is, without focusing too much on the negatives. Once in a while, it's fine. Many Western vloggers spend too much time whining (at length!) about the poverty, the weird food, the pollution, drugs, the heat, the traffic, poverty, the pollution, and security guards everywhere, among others. Oddly enough,. many cities in the U.S. also have the heat, the traffic, poverty, the weird food, the pollution, and well, maybe not so much the security guards, but it has mass shootings and kids gunned down in their schools ... problems which we don't have. Just the same, I love how you research the places you visit and enlighten your viewers. Your kids are so adorable (as are their parents)! Enjoy your stay in the Philippines.
This is the 2nd Video that I watched from you guys and I can truly say that “I just found a new family to follow.” I just love how honest you are when it comes to your reviews in every activities, accommodations and food that you have tried! Looking forward to seeing more of your adventures! Keep safe always and enjoy your stay here in the Philippines! ❤️
I was obsessed on how they talk, I like there pronounciation and accent as well. Thanks for promoting our country and enjoy your Vacay. Watching here in KSA.
Thank you! And you’re very welcome ☺️
This is the type of vlog that I want to see in the Phils. This is how I travel also around the world
Your humility to be open to learn and be surprised coupled with grateful hearts plus well-articulated insights and fun personalities make this vlog a hit. More to come. God speed!
WOW, THANK YOU THAT YOU CONSIDER THE PHILIPPINES TO BE ON TOP OF THE LIST OF PLACES YOU'VE BEEN TO !!! ACTUALLY YOU'RE NOT THE FIRST I'VE HEARD WHO'VE SAID THAT. I'VE NOW HEARD SEVERAL VLOGGERS SAY TOO THAT PH WAS THEIR FAVORITE. ALWAYS WONDERFUL TO HEAR! :)
I've had the privilege to go to Boracay before it got this developed. But thankfully, the government has been taking care if Boracay after they closed it down for 6 months in 2018 to rehabilitate it. Hopefully, they will continue to maintain its ecological integrity for generations to come. :)
Guys, it's so cool to see families vlogging in the Philippines. I usually see vloggers without kids. I brought the kids to Palawan when they were younger and it's a little scary when you don't know if kids will be okay. We saw white squirrels in Palawan. Never been to Boracay. So jealous! Mabuhay!!
White squirrels 🐿 sounds amazing! We love traveling with our kids 😊
Wow this is being seen and shared by Filipinos around the world. Good job research and editing team.
Thank you for visiting our beloved Philippines 🇵🇭
Salamat and Mabuhay!
It’s easy to love. We’re so happy to be able to experience it all!
The natural beauty of the Philippines is only exceeded by the people, without a doubt, the nicest, genuinely friendly people on earth!
We agree. We felt so welcomed!
Your vlogs felt more like documentary. It felt so new and unique!💕 Have fun in the Philippines, Lockwoods!
Thank you! 😊
Im a filipino living in singapore. Love to see another angle of vlogging our country. Now I can see both side which one is if you are tight in your budget and the other is if you are not. I love all of you are involved in vlogging. Keep it up. Just subscribe!
These videos are inspirational. I'm so used to watching average travel vloggers lol nice to see the luxurious stuff of the Philippines this time. Keep it up!
So proud of you guys and kids considering of the patience it worth the hard work keep it up more hidden gem to see, enjoy the beauty of the Philippines and hospitality I could tell you gonna fall in love the Philippines the true paradise indeed!!take care
Thank you! 🤗Everyone has been so kind!
First and foremost, kudos to the making and editing of these videos. I love that each member of your family contribute to the overall experience. Not a lot of Filipinos would be able to afford the kind of accommodations you get from your trips, but it is heartwarming that foreigners are able to do so in each nation's behalf and showcase the beauty of each country you've visited. Keep your vlogs coming. Love from Davao City. 💕
I love the family. thank you for featuring and including the Philippines in your bucket list. as Filipino we love that other foreign countries appreciate the beauty of the Philippines. in that case you got our support.
I know most subscribers now and who view your blog is from the Philippines. that's how we support you guys. ❤❤
looking forward for the future videos.
We see and feel all the support, Emmanuel! We were talking this morning about needing to spend 6 months in PH to get a real feel for it--and how much fun that would be. Hopefully just the 6 or so episode we post on our PH travels help bring more American/foreign excitement/tourism/money to your beautiful country. Thank you for having us ❤️🤗🙏🏼
Thank you for featuring our beloved country Philippines 🇵🇭 God Bless to your family ✨
So happy y'all are enjoying the Philippines. I enjoyed watching your vlog and I'm a new subscriber now. I came to the Philippines from the USA 7 years ago for the 1st time, and stayed! Been married for 6 years and currently living in Iloilo City. My wife is from Puerto Princesa Palawan and we lived there for 2.5 years before moving to Iloilo. Spent our 1st wedding anniversary in Coron and I love that place. We will be in Boracay next weekend for a few days getaway. Enjoy Bohol...thats also in our near future!
Im so proud and happy for your positive reaction about Philippines!
This family is humble and kind! Great editing too 👍, more videos in the Philippines! Please do come to Iloilo ❤
Thank you! It's overwhelming to discover how many places in the Philippines are still left to explore.
How you make your videos looks like a professional documentary video made for a known broadcasting company and doesn't look like they are made by a regular vlogger... very impressive and superb editing...just wow
So nice to hear, especially because our earliest videos are pretty bad, so I guess we’ve come a long way 👍🏼 Thank you! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
You're showing us the luxury travel vibe which is amazing!
Yay!! So glad to hear. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🤗
Newbie here. If you guys find the Philippines as one of your best destinations, for me, I found your family as one of the best RUclipsr I’ve ever watch. I like you guys, sharing interesting informations about everything you experienced or encounter as you stroll around. Above all, you had your top of the line accommodations in your Boracay getaway. Safe travels always. Watching from Jacksonville Florida USA 🇵🇭🇺🇸
Awesome! Thank you, Gina!
Proud to be a filipino.watching fr Hamilton,Canada🇨🇦🇵🇭❤
Colt is so adorable exploring bugs and critters! ❤❤❤❤
It’s nice that you titled this ‘first trip’ like there’s an indication of future trips. Love the fam! Cole is so into reptiles and critters! Does he watch the Ants Canada channel. He lives here in the Philippines and he also loves reptiles. I feel like if Cole met him they’d talk a lot about animals and stuff.
Oh, we're 100% coming back asap! We'll ask him if he watches Ants Canada but that one doesn't ring a bell, so we'll recommend it to him now... I'm sure meeting up would be a VERY fun experience for him!
Maybe you are referring to Mikey Bustos???

For those of us that can’t afford to stay at the Shangrila’s of the world, it’s eye opening and nice to see what that world could be like. Beautiful place for sure. Hopefully you get to interact with the locals and experience some of that Filipino hospitality. The Paraw Sunset ride is a must!
We appreciate that. The local experiences are what drives us to travel. We got an incredible local experience in Cebu and learned just how nice and hospitable Filipinos are. Boracay was beautiful and it was a great place for us to relax a little.
movenpick is in the same coast as shangrila it's way cheaper they have the same beach too
that's a well thought of places to go to...love the choices of places you visit and its just lovely to see the whole family enjoying each adventure...and would like to point out, extremely perfect with the editing and the high level quality of videos if u put out... ya'll are having an amazing time while promoting the tourists spots to go to. ❤
