I think you have miss read the score boards. The camera angle on the hit which moves the score from 18-17 to 19-17 shows the Italian side scoreboard which only displays the Italian score which appears twice on the same scoreboard, you might be mistaking that for being 18 all when the score at the time is 18-17.
