I suspect he needs to commit crimes because his warped take in his world requires him to do so to stay in touch with his particular delusion. Schizophrenia is not easy to explain but this is a form of 'paranoid schiz'. No obvious thought disorder (no rambling thoughts or disorganisation) just a clear insightless delusion that persists. (no rambling thoughts or disorganisation) just a clear insightless belief that persists. As a long term mental health professional, give me madness every time. 'Personality disorders' are often more tedious . Forgive my judgement here on this page.. It is not always the case.

But we cannot have it both ways. We cannot say that those with mental illnesses have the right to refuse being institutionalized (even for a short time), and then say that they should be getting help. The help some need is long term care, whether they like it or not. Someone did a study that many homeless people are mentally ill and would rather be on the streets than being helped in a hospital or outpatient setting. In other words, in a free society you cannot force people to get care, even drug addicts, unless they commit a crime and are jailed.

See they don’t want you rotting in there if you’re a contributing member of society. I got nailed for a bunch of charges, magistrate realized she instigated it and instead of asking for 25,000 bail on a 250,000 case he asked for 2500 on one 50,000 charge. They dumped me in there around 7:30 pm and I was walking out the sally port by 10:30 pm. Longest 3 hours of my life and still triggers PTSD
