Now that's what I call proper sailing... nicely captured and edited... 🙂👍
My wife would have called the Coast guard! Don't ever lose her dude!
What a fantastic sail, absolutely exhilarating. Really got a sense of the wave sizes; photography was awesome. Thanks for the ride!
The boat looks absolutely fantastic! That is quite some waves for a vessel that size, you two are obviously very skilled in handling it so well!
724 likes and not one dislike.
Some kind of RUclips record. Well deserved.
Sailing at its best. Thanks for taking us onboard.
Now 1.7k 👍 but someone, yes 1 person actually hates life today ....
@@AlienX69 100% up now. there are 2.. I'm sorry for them.
Na Three miserable B's now
Great footage from day 1 , boat looks great ,crew look happy !!!
When I watched this video there was 13 dislikes so I guess there’s 13 people that get up half an hour earlier in the morning so they can hate the world half an hour longer 🤪🤔😳
Thanks for showing all what a great little boat the clansman is .
Pure Rock‘n‘Roll! Have a nice Trip!
The late, great Patrick Childress recommended using plasticine (rather than butyl tape) to plug the chain hole.
Couldn't get any 🙁
Wow, you guys are true blue water sailors.
The best sailing vids I've seen on RUclips.
Now THAT was a sailing episode! Good job.
I appreciate your commentary very much. I always learn something from your videos. Thanks so much.
This is sailing!
Love you troy and pasco always nice to see you God Bless you and your journey
It is really good watching sailing in australia.much appreciated.
Glad you’re back in the water sailing again Troy and Pascale! Looking forward to some more yummy recipes and adventures you two.
If you watch Skip Novac's Storm Series, he removes his anchor chain from the anchor and stow's it all below and has a water tight cap with covers the anchor chain hawse pipe for that very reason.
We used to use a plug but Muir winch needs a hole that's not round. Annoying. A Sunbrella canvas cover works
Our boat came with a windlass cover that I always felt was ridiculous. It holds moisture under the cover because it never really dries, and makes no sense when the boat is at a dock, on anchor, or stored on the hard.
Now I know why it was really made and what it is for! Our anchor locker is completely above the water level and is separated from the V-berth with a watertight bulkhead. It has its own drain above the water level too. But excessive seawater running in and out probably isn't great. The drain could always plug up I suppose.
@@FreeRangeLiving Great vid! We're refurbishing the anchor chain locker on our 30ft sloop and discovered there were no drain holes at all... curious if Mirrool has any drains in her locker? And if not, why?
nevermind... just found your explanation in your windlass fitting vid. makes sense!

Nothing like a Clansman, sail her anywhere, a beautiful well balanced boat
A little scary for this land locked 70 year old. So much water and big waves plus a small boat.... I am impressed with you abilities to master those waves.
One of the best sailing videos i've watched. Thanks guys
Wonderful video. A masterclass in safety.
Nice to see a properly powered up and balanced boat (unlike some other channels)!
Looks like Pascale has her sea legs back, eating breakfast and washing dishes in those swells.
scary stuff. starts about 14:30. some salty sailors here :)
Awesome video, good to see sailers that set a time and leave, and just deal with the weather.... :)
I have sailed off the coast of Albany and Dampier in small 22’ boats, it brought back very happy memories of rough weather sailing.
Stay safe you two, and above all, remember to have fun..... Jack n Steve
Wow, what a sail. You two are legends and I’m *SO* stoked to be a Patron of yours. I’ve sailed the Bass Strait myself, and it’s always a beast. You made it all look plain easy! Love cutter rig - it was what we had in Adventure for the Whitbread Round the World Race in 73/4. Each ‘slot’ providing power, just when you need it, and with a low centre of effort. 👍🏼💥🤛🏽💯⛵️👏🏽🎉
Great to see real sailing, great to see you on the big blue
Awesome ocean sailing in well-rigged 30 footer! Thanks!
Fantastic!
That was some of the best footage of waves I’ve ever seen. I’ve never sailed in my life, I watch people do it on here and This was something a lot different. Amazing to see the rigging and everything in practice and working so well. Congrats of your refit and just everything.
Magic moment at 17:26 whilst Troy was setting up the staysail, and a huge blue mountain strolled up alongside the boat - it's not often when watching on a screen, that you get much hint of the size, weight and power of those waves, but that captures it. I'm quite glad I wasn't there.
bravo
Wow, that was heavy! You guys are great sailors, inspirational!
I have to agree with many comments say this is sailing, very enjoyable to watch, well done 👍
Great sailing windy and beautiful. I bet that's the most alive you guys have felt in a while. Loved the video.
Good to see you out on the ocean again!
You make me smile. Thank you. 😋
The boat goes like the clappers great video
Im no sailor, in fact I get sea sick in the shower but appreciate the skill and commitment required to pilot a boat like this in these conditions. You made it look so easy; great video.
Great to see Mirrool performing so well in testing conditions. Smashing job on the refit. That cutter rig makes me want to put Jazza's second furler back on!
Best sailing channel on youtube. Boat looks great ,like a new boat !!
That was quite s wild ride, but u2 are the ones to do it with backlaid attitude. We would freak 😂
Wow!!! Fantastic episode! I always learn so much from you guys!!
there is no justice below the 40's, and no god below the 50's
Was once the proud owner of a Manitou..they are a gracious saling vessel...designed by a naval architect.... And this one seems to be sailed by sailor... All the best to both you pirates....a ARRRAH... 🙏
Nice sailing footage... well done!
I've seen people turn around with a 50ft catamaran on that route, it must be a wild ride on a 30ft monohull, love it though.
Mirool looks like she is going well with not too bad a motion for 30ft in lumpy seas...!!
I Love watching you guys sail!
Cheers Gray
Brisbane Australia
BRILLIANT. Well done 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
THAT was FUN Glad you Passed the Rough Stuff OK and Only the Chain Locker leak GREAT JOB Thanks for Sharing 👍👍👍
What an excellent sail the southern ocean treated you well, great job guys.
Exhilarating sailing 👍
Mirool looks so great! Pretty spiffy!!
Great to see you sailing again.
What I am noticing is no creaking, clanking, in the cabin under the conditions you were in. That shows the quality work you did in her re fit. It's nice see an old girl shine like she does . Good job .
She's a good tight, quiet little ship
Awesome vid, just love the way it was captured, was glued to it from start to finish.
Thank you for an excellent video. You have both been inspirational over the years. Particularly the last 14 months. Cheers Tony Woollcombe
Good to see you enjoying the fruits of your labors!
Wow, a very beautiful sailing experience!!
great movie, greetings from Poland
Delphia country:)
It is really fantastic fantastic fantastic to see you two back doing what you love and do best, taking the boat and our lives to the limit. God bless and protect you as you move forward.
Nice job, that was really great to watch. It looked pretty scary at times. The filming was really good as well. Gives you a great insight as to what your going through. Exhilarating worth the wait for sure 😮👍😆
So that's what it's like, glad it's you guys :) (Thanks for managing to video - amazing to watch!)
So glad you're back out on those gorgeous blue waves again. Pretty good shake out voyage too! I'm so looking forward to more :-)
Here on the Kennet & Avon canal, we're out of lockdown, the water is brown, the wind is gusting 30 knots and, yes, it's raining cats and dogs! Your blue waters and space look so inviting! :-)
Every episode eagerly anticipated and thoroughly enjoyed, thanks very much guys!
Finally ... Mirrool gets a chance to show her stuff in the open ocean!
I could feel the boat's motion, felt the spray on my face, said hello to the dolphins and seals, and of course dealt with the hatch leaks!
Well done Troy and Pascale ... all your work resulted in a renewed cruising vessel!
The boat looks brand new and sailing fantastic from our views. Great video as always.
Yeeew! Love being in open seas!
OMG 😱 WOW ‼️ At the beginning........and all through the episode, Mirrool just seemed to like her nose up at the sky, proud as a peacock, and just shine in he new look, almost seemingly with new power. Just awesome ‼️ ✨🌊⛵️🏝👙🍷🌞✨
Nice to see some real sailing.
good job guys - great to see you out and about again after the refurb! safe passage
I love the fact that you show the good, the bad and the ugly. Your seamanship as a couple is awe inspiring.
Nice to see you back on the water. Some nice sailing to work out the cobwebs....
Well done what a great video and great sailing...looking forward to the next video. Can not wait...Troy you have a great Gal there Pascale is a legend and you too of course
Lovely! Energetic sailing.
The boat looks great & you now have a performance gains yeh ha! Great job you two🍻🖖😎🇳🇿
Cool to have actual sailing, now rather unusual on sailing channels these days. More please. Thanks
Nice to see you guys back at it...Safe travels
The outstanding video of the year for me. Great sailing , a lot of the other channels have turned into travel logs.
Beautiful footage in high winds and waves. Very enjoyable. Different kind of sailng thank up here in Scandinavia. Thanks
Great to see safety first ... well harnessed in ... hardly ever see this is sailing vids.
Ok this is video number 47 of my "I want to buy a Free Range Sailing hoody" campaign
Cheers
Matt
For the record; you are my favorite sailing channel. You are my favorite sailing couple. I’m in Virginia, USA. I’ve been trying to locate a boat to disappear on and a possible cruising partner. One seems to be a harder task than the other. Can you guess? Where are the adventurous women in this world?! Someone say something
Dive boats and sailing clubs. Look there.
That's sailing. I love this vlog. Sailing like no others. Hats off to you 2. XXXXXX More please.
So good to see you both back out on the water. Mirrool looks beautiful, and as ever the production quality shines through. I always feel I’ve learnt something after every video, so thank you!
Love the new sprayhood
Can’t wait to see the next video. What an awesome refit you’ve done to the boat. Looks like it’s all paying off.
Patrick Childress had a good tip for sealing up the hawse pipe with kid's plasticene molded around the chain. I've used it on our boat, it works well. Doesn't matter when you forget to remove it when you drop the hook, it just mashes off as it goes over the gypsy and is easy to replace.
Liked the cutter setup.
You guys did a real nice job on refit good job mates
Salut vous super vidéo et navigation tank you
Great genuine sailing video. Good luck and safe travels.
Great stuff guys, shows us what great sailers do ! loved it.
Good practice waves! I added a boom brake made from a rock climbing figure eight. Slows down the boom swings in a blow. I also wear a kayak helmet on rough days. So easy to hit your head in a fall or from flying "stuff". Getting hit from the boom is the second greatest cause of death on a sailboat after drowning. Loved the video. Can't wait to finish up my winter bottom work and get back out there. After a few short trips, I will be looking to jump waves too!
Absolutely fantastic ! Great to see you back on the water. 👍
Glad to see your spirits so high. Must be nice to get her on blue water again. We are looking forward to the rest of the crossing.
Cracking video! Thanks for sharing and for the excellent commentary.
You are back sailing awesome. I enjoyed the refit but was really awaiting the water again. Be safe and we will sail with you!
Yes, pumping out the anchor locker, can be a "drain"..lol Nice pun Pascal. Great video. Yippy sailing again. . Tc.
Going back to Western Australia!! Just keep on going!
