When you said that you realize that your addiction is within reach, and you have it and can take it whenever you want, and you get this calm feeling, your withdrawal symptoms will go away, I broke down. My husband will always point out that my mood ALWAYS changes when I get the pain pill to stop my withdrawals, before I even took it. I can't believe how relieved I was when I heard that, and how normal it apparently is.
love what you said about how when you finally find the drug and have it in your possession, a calm sweeps over you and almost kills the withdrawal symptoms. so true
Man... took a long time for me to get clean. ..ibogaine. .40 cold turkeys and finally I realized. .. it wasn't the drug.. it was my relationship to reality.
Skotty O I found him last year right before he died I was going through Suboxone withdrawal, and he made me hopeful. A year later, I’m watching again. In the same spot.
So true!! I'm on day 9. Walks everyday. Runs Days 6 and 7, those 2 days were the best I had had. Yesterday didn't do my walk and it was my day off. Laid around all day eating chinese food lol. NO ENERGY. Got a little depressed and really wanted a perk or 325...GET YOUR ASS UP!! Thank you Ryan, you have gotten me through this.
Your right dude, I never thought about it, I would show up to work and be sick in the parking lot but knew I was good the moment my coworker showed up. Popped em and walked in good bein sick AF 2 minutes ago. I'm gona try and tap into that mental power now. Good video dude
Exercise, diet/clean eating and meditation is HUGE! Another great powerful post. I'd feel dead tired but force my body and mind to the gym and every time with out question after words I felt reborn. Add and ice bath after exercise and it'll triples that rewarding feeling. Been a practitioner of meditation for over 15 years. Started out 5mins than 10,15,20,30mins to an hour at times. While practicing it's weird, it could be 5 minutes in two 20 but all of sudden your mind just shuts off and you find that peace. Best recovery ritual advice worked for me
Thank you Ryan, the mind is so powerful. To think we can think our way to sickness or wellness and that many of us choose sickness and its not even a conscious choice. I have begun to deliberately think something positive and say something positive. Its about retraining your brain and its hard to do in the beginning especially when you feel like death.
Since my cousin has been clean and started vivitrol treatment we have been going to the gym together and this is the best I have seen him in years... And it has helped me so much too... Great perspective on rituals...happy you found happiness
I finally got off a 7 year opiate dependency and on my 7th day free I got pancreatitus and spent 5 days in hospital. Was getting massive amounts of narcotics as you can imagine. I was very concerned that when I got out I was going to have to go thru it again but actually very little withdrawl afterwards. Thank God
You don't have to relive your past to convince us of anything. Tell us though, what new rituals do you fill your life with? If not watching the ballgame, what are you doing now? Sometimes we just need to know which channel to switch it to, in order to break old habits. Great work dude. I have a, uh, friend on day two of methadone withdrawal. God is good
I used to clean my house really good before I'd get high so that I could veg in a clean space. Because when I came out of it I shurly wouldn't feel like cleaning, lol.
I'm pretty well versed in meditation. It is so powerfull, but like anything else it takes discipline. I am going to make a video about it soon, just a little history and an intro lesson. It's like a muscle, when you work it, the muscle builds. You can literally feel your mind become stronger. It feels amazing!
Ryan u are a wise young man u have not let me down on any of your videos I went all the way back to free from hell when u first started wide option your brain was going 90 miles an hour god bless u help me get thru detox an many others thank u please keep up the good work are words amen
Thank you Ryan. The coffee connoisseur is a excellent analogy in relation to our rituals. I was aware of the way water breaks down blood cells, so there's that. Plus I have all sorts of issues related to being an injector. As a plus tho "living happily ever after" is something I am now anxiously looking forward to :) On the serious side (and to dissuade others from injecting) I want to share and say that I do have medical problems related to being an injector. Most people who inject have some kind of issues because we are not Dr.'s as much as we think we know. My liver enzymes and my white blood cell counts are out of whack. I have numbness and intense pain in my fingers and my hands. On my right hand the tips of my pinky finger, ring finger and middle finger are permanently numb. The problems started small and I thought it was just bad circulation or from falling asleep in a weird position but my Dr. said it's likely nerve damage. I have pain that wakes me up from a dead sleep, it is a intense burning, stinging type of pain which wakes me up numerous time during the night. Consider, too, that I am not totally naive about harm reduction either, in so far as, I thought that I had good "technique." This is the damage I did by injecting into my forearms and hands. That is the truth about what happens when you inject while you are wasted (or not when you are not) and you are just Joe Schmoe...
+livia1881,...oh wow! I thought I was the only one! I had nerve damage too, from injecting in my hand. I must have hit a nerve. Lost ALL movement in my right hand. But somehow, after seeing the Dr., doing some hand therapy/, excercises, taking vitamin B? I think? Regardless, had to drop out of my Dental School n everything! Horrible. But, somehow, someway, like 2-3 months later, I literally woke up, and my hand movement came back! Crazy, scary, shit though! It just goes to show how stupid it is, but how careful n knowledgeable u have to be regarding veins, nerves, and arteries!!!
This was a great video & topic, Ryan! My friend does the water thing, n I knew it wasn't good, but I'll have to let her know how dangerous it really is! Thanks!
+Avy Taylor Sorry to hear you had to give up your education as a result, that must be very disappointing - just another example of how we hurt ourselves by injecting. Thanks for the advice. I am hoping the feeling comes back and the numbness goes, goes, goes.
i am new to the channel...your vid on ORT was great ! can you read stories of those struggling / succeeding with sub-methadone specifically OR do they get taken down ?
I experienced this a few days ago. I was about 48 hours in withdrawal and it was like 4 in the morning. I texted a guy I know who does the same thing and he said he had like 2-3 pills for me since there has been a drought lately. But man when I got that text and he told me to pull up I swear that the withdrawals went away. And once they were in my hand I told myself that I bet I could wait till 7am to do them. A lot of it definitely is mental.
The rituals suck lol, oh I wanna play golf I have to take, oh I'm driving home I have to take, I don't want to but I have to to accomplish these things. Sucks.
Hey Ryan question when going thru withdrawals does testosterone go up because my head and face get greasy af and im breaking out on my face and chest and im aggressive af too trying to fight everyone any thoughts?
same here mine clearing up an yea i have same urges and agitation. agitation to the point i worry ill lash out at someone. i can forgive hurting myself, hurting someone else i dunno.
@@jeremythomas1860 Apparently his heart problem finally took his life in September this year. He had a heart condition he often talked about. It's very sad.

Only good die young. R.I.P brother, you deserve it. You must be an angel now, helping our tortured souls from above.

He is Saving me now. Almost crashed day 7 and he kept me going. Day 11 now!!! 🎉
@@courtneycoley8487...Yoo, me too! But, hey did he pass away or something??? I hope not.
I'm really pissed that you was taken away from the recovery world! RIP Ryan Donnelly!

Jaclyn, thanks. I only found him a couple of days ago. He has a good bunch of helpful videos he left behind. It will probably help save a life !!

good job ryan. day 20

What you said about the feeling when you’re sick and you know it’s on the way or in the next min or so, the wds def do subside for a brief moment.

I can personally say that is true I would be so sick as soon as I got back in the car I felt great before even doing it
canot exercise because of my degenerative disc .. but I can walk for 20 min twice a day .. and this helps .. walk .. walk .. walk
coffee (caffeine) is truly an addiction as well...and I would agree that the biggest coffee addicts have the biggest rituals surrounding it.
