I just got mine used... It's honestly a joy to drive. Very comfortable. I know the dps6 dual clutch has a reputation but I think mine works very well. Don't drive it like a mad man and try and earn that "ecochampion" title when you get your speed/anticipation score. Very feature loaded (hill brake control I use very often on a certain hill in town) and honestly having a dual clutch is kind of a luxury
I agree. Mine has been a pleasant surprise. 2017 se hatch. It's been my only car for the last 5 years and I'm keeping it as my second car/Winter car.. It's been that good. Zero problems.
We bought our 2017 Ford Focus SEL with the navigation sync 3 system with voice commands. It’s well equipped and loaded for the SEL trim level. And it has emergency 911 assist during a crash that has been qualified it will dial 911. We love ours and it has the Oxford white with the charcoal black interior. And it has the silver and black painted 17” rims and a sunroof with LED lighting.
Dear automakers. Stop putting soft-touch materials on the dash and put them where people can appreciate them like the door panels and armrests. Nobody is resting their elbows on the freaking dashboards.
Bought this car for my son for 12K brand new, black color and I have to say, I enjoy driving it myself. I only wish it had a larger fuel tank and cruise control.....plenty of power for it's size!
People hate this car for no reason own one and its not a bad car . The economy is outstanding get 43 on the highway . The 160 hp is good enough . The 5 speed manual is a smooth shifter and clutch is not too bad. The car is a nice looking car hatchback is very nice . Have always drove junk cars so maybe i dont know cars very well . Have a scion tc too and i like the focus better . The focus may not last as long with no problems ? Anyway the focus is a good car for the money if you buy used they dont hold their value well.
Own a Ford Focus (2014). I admit, quality is not Ford's strong suit, and this generation of Focus is starting to show its age in a competitive market. However, there is one thing that Ford does better than other manufacturers in this segment, and that is options packaging. For example. if I wanted a Civic with heated seats, I'd be forced to buy the most expensive trim level. Ford, has more choices available. I got a Focus with heated leather seats, manual transmission, bluetooth audio streaming; without any of the stuff that has known faults (DCT transmission, sunroof, MyFordTouch, etc.).
I have a 2018 with the 5 speed manual. Its great. Get 37mpg overall and have lots of hills in my area and do 80-90 on the highway portions. It has plenty of power, rides nice, and is quiet. I paid $14k for it august 2018 with 3 miles on it. I have over 8500miles on it now. The rear crank windows are actually alright by me. I have a 3 year old
18K is too high for that car. around 14-15K would be reasonable but the automatics are known to suck badly it would be better if it was a manual trans. I know a couple dealerships near me refuse to sell automatic transmission Focuses now due to all the issues.
NiharM77 I have a Titanium and it looks and sounds nothing like this piece of crap. They must have changed something in the SEL and Titanium models I guess.
I've got a 2012 SEL Ford Focus - within 2 years been hit 3 times. It is funny no one can see a Fat Man in every window of this vehicle. I owe $7,500.00 on it and no dealer wants it until it's fixed. I have 0 dealers wanting to buy it from me. They tell me vehicle must be fixed first. Waiting on lawsuit to recover monies insurance owes me to fix it back to drive ability. Don't buy these Focus's they have a lot of recalls. Mine is now leaking in the "Sunroof" - glad when I get my settlement...
Econoboxes are not the forte of American car companies it seems to me. Now that being said, the cheapest and most low-end cars hardly ever offer the most value, and most times a buyer can get much more value just by going that next level up...and that next level up is where I think American car companies are really starting to shine. The Focus is a rental car, and if that's all you're willing to buy then you have lots of choices, and I don't think it's necessarily fair to bash the Focus for having the same low-end features as the competition. Craptastic is craptastic no matter where you go. If I were in the market for a Ford I would definitely look at something like an Escape before I got a Focus.
Has instrument cluster from 11 to 16 elantra! nothing wrong with that as long as it was in the elantra! coin holder wouldn't close . power windows front only? whoever came up with that idea should be fired! that's ridiculous and totally weird. not a really bad car I guess, but I wouldn't buy it. if I was looking in that price range, I'd find something different. power windows only up front ! I'd rather have manual windows all around. at least it would make sense lol!
Dude it’s so dumb. I got the 2018 model and it’s damn near identical only issue I have though is mine doesn’t have a 3.5mm auxiliary input...only usb or Bluetooth! Like wtf
i had a 2013...Good car with exception of that ridiculous transmission! ! i finally said....Screw it..!! i let it go back to bank and Got a 2015 Gmc Sierra!! Never will drive another car again!
I hate the focus it’s cramped and full of issues the footwell is slanted so steeply it’s uncomfortable and the interior feels a little bland on basic models but the Corolla basic models are more interesting to look at and the base model corollas have a touchscreen and have a lot more features than the focus
Yo yoshirocks The rear windows are manual, but the front windows are power on the base model. On the other trims of the Focus power windows for all four windows
No way this is a 2017. This looks & sounds nothing like mine. I have a 2017 Titanium. Which retails for about $25,000. This one sounds like shit and no where near as nice as mine. :/
I love mine, have had no problems

Hala Heleu I think the main issue was dps6 transmission, even manual option available was not enough to help
I'd definitely buy this. However I'm going to wait for the all new Focus to make a decision.
Best Engine in these.
Naturally aspirated, inline-4, good amount of power, and the most reliable out of the 1.0 Turbo, 2.0 Turbo, 2.3 Turbo
My stepmom used to have a 2012 Focus SEL but she just recently bought a 2014 Lincoln MKZ
2.0l duel clutch, 1.0l eco boost, 2.0l turbo with the Focus ST. and 2.3 turbo with the Focus RS.

I've heard that the Focus automatic Power Shift transmission ought to be called Power Shit because it has problems

Nice. I have the 2015 Focus with the 5 speed with about 52000 miles on it. Not a single issue with it.
Am I the only one who noticed the rest of the cars in the "compact" car class, are supersized now tho
Dude, the Escort it replaced was a good car. The Mazda powertrain was very reliable. The GT was a great car.
djkenny i would love to see them bring the escort back tbh
It is the last Ford that was truly dependable.
Camerons Car Reviews The Focus got a refresh in 2015

Going to look at one of these tomorrow
Can you review a higher trim like an SEL or Titanium?
NiharM77 I have a Titanium and it looks and sounds nothing like this piece of crap. They must have changed something in the SEL and Titanium models I guess.
BlazinNSoul Same here! I love my titanium hatch it amazing. Only thing is it needs a new Motor mount but mine is still under warranty.

Bad news fatty, all cars have a lot of recalls.

Just got one!
Same…….. no heated seating though.. :(
i had a 2013...Good car with exception of that ridiculous transmission! ! i finally said....Screw it..!! i let it go back to bank and Got a 2015 Gmc Sierra!!

Drive the cars
That is not 18k worth of car! That's 12k worth of car!
They sell for 11k commonly.
Why on earth would you review a base model?
bigdish True that it makes the rest look like shit when they are actually really nice!
do 2017 fiesta SE
overload on cheap looking plastic interior.
Looks like a car from 90s. Wouldn't pay 10k for this.
Sure
No power windows that's ridiculous!!! 😠
Yo yoshirocks The rear windows are manual, but the front windows are power on the base model. On the other trims of the Focus power windows for all four windows
That idle is not normal. I can't believe a dealership is selling that lol
Greg Cunningham direct injection cars all have the diesel sound at idle. Totally normal.
its like rebaged a dodge neon
No way this is a 2017. This looks & sounds nothing like mine. I have a 2017 Titanium. Which retails for about $25,000. This one sounds like shit and no where near as nice as mine. :/
BlazinNSoul same I got the 2017 Ford Focus SEL sedan in this same oxford white color. Mine retails to 23,000$.
cheap, plastic, dated, and it has the worst reliability rating in its segment. ouch!
The manual one is not bad at all.
holy plastic
dejen de poner textos en español para confundir a la habla hispana y ganar mas views
That is not 18k worth of car! That's 12k worth of car!
Jordan F These are actually selling for 11.5k in my area.
Same here
Same here south Ga
That's exactly how much I just paid for mine! I agree! (well I paid $10,600, but with tax, fees, etc. it was just over $12,000)
do these cars still have transmission issues? I hear after 50k miles they are terrible. i wouldn't get the automatic though. i'd get a manual.
