Always is, the folks that run this channel along with the hostess are quite awesome! Gives me hope for the newer generation of people that will run this place one day.
@@tangsir34 regardless of price would certainly be the Prusa XL but that’s quite a price. 5 tool heads eliminates waste and allows for true multimaterial printing. There are trade offs for everything when you look at more consumer priced printers. Bambu is reliable and simple, but can waste a lot of filament. Prusa mmu3 is more complex to set up and is reliant on your understanding of the machine to make it as reliable but it wastes significantly less filament and is also faster for color changes. Other color systems are newer and less proven so far like Anycubic ACE, Creality CFS(although this video looks promising) and Flashforge’s new system.
Another great review Aurora! Looks like Bambu has finally gotten Creality to up their game. I'll be interested in seeing some reviews from shops running these 24/7 after a month or so to see how they hold up.
Thank you so much for this review. Every other tech reviewer loves to put in unnecessary music without showing us how loud the printer is. You put in music but keep the sound in. As a blind person who relies on sound, this really helps. Thank you for your honest feedback without hyping the printer too much either. I personally will never buy a Bambulab printer as I can't use one because it isn't compatible with Octoprint. If I was going to buy a printer, it'd probably be this one or the Prusa Core a.
Your thorough and honest reviews represent a remarkable contribution to the community and potentially a great chance to improve 3d printers quality, if the producers will be keen to listen. Thank you!
Seems like an impressive showing. Still having trouble believing that Creality has finally grown up and has a reliable product. Ill be waiting 6-12 months and checking back. Thanks for the review!

Thanks Aurora!
Great review as always. You test a wide range of performance that matter to those buying a 3D printer, in real world tests. Best of all, you have a standard test suite that allows us to compare performance between 3D printers.
There's... *a lot* of VFA on the prints you showed off. Pause and zoom in, and go compare it to the other CoreXY reviews she has done. Creality is not beating the allegations with this one.
this channel and your reviews are the only ones I can't wait to see and guide my judgement 100%. thank you for the spectacular reviews and very valuable information 🙏 now, I can't wait to see the Prusa CoreOne vs K2 Plus vs Bambu X1 Carbon! I already know the Prusa lacks the print volume, but I'm more concerned about performance and quality anyway.
Very nice and thorough review - and the detail with closed loop stepper motors really earns Creality a big star in my book. This has taken WAY too long to implement in consumer grade 3D printers. Although I just bought my second P1S, the K2 Plus seems to be a very solid machine, and a good indicator where we're headed in the consumer 3D printing world. I learned a few things about the K2 Plus that I wasn't previously aware of.
One of the better reviews I've seen. Nice job. I've almost pulled the trigger on the K2 Plus 5 or 6 times. It's a chunk of money, but darn that bed size is sweet and I really need something that big for many of my shop designs. My other thing is I believe Creality only sent like 20 of these units out for reviews...and knowing from other past experiences, many things show up once these are fully available. As for your cons...I don't think any of them are massive concerns, nuisances for sure. Thank you for doing such a good job, and including the Bambu Labs as comparisons, though how good is the Bambu Labs for tall items such as the garbage can?
It seems very nice from your as usual comprehensive first look. That said, I'm not left regretting the X1C Combo i bought last week via Bambu Black Friday sale.
I really appreciate your videos as there's not many, if any, other channels that do such a consistent side by side comparison with machines. I want to point out though that a lattice box is not a good warp test for ABS. Solid walls would do a better job testing for warping and bed adhesion as they are more likely to pull as each layer cools and shrinks.
very nice review and impressed by this machine! thanks ! ...just a thought, I think we're reaching a point where your protocol could perhaps evolve ?Many printers have levelled around the X1C kind of quality and speed. Now we should have a look at the finer details & new differentiatores. Some ideas : VFA testing, air filtration system efficiency, heat temperature control consistency / heat evenness (IR camera), etc...
Thank you for making those videos! They are really helpful! Wondering if you could include a test for fine/micro details? For example test how well they are doing with something like skin or leather texture of variying depths and sizes. As someone who prints miniatures, this would give me an idea of how well the printers are with small details.
If I hadn't have already bought a Bambu then I would have bought this based on your review. The larger area would be beneficial to me and it seems that caught up with Bambu's technology.
Thank you for this amazing review, as always. This looks like it will be a great competitor to Bambu. Even though it is basically a copy. Keep up the great work you two!
Dare I say? Your voice has matured from your earlier videos. Always like listening to your reviews. Now the tough part! Which one do I want to choose from? Bambu labs or Creality?
Very happy to see this review. As always it was excellent. Did you have many failed prints? Also, since it has a heated chamber, do you plan to do more testing with abs and other heat sensitive filaments?
Fantastic video, although i wish you had delved deeper into what klipper things could be done on this machine. Like is it actually open or is it just marketing. Can you edit the config files. Can you crate or edit macros. Perhaps show if things like obico or moonraker can be installed or uninstall as one desires.
Another fantastic review! You answered many of my questions and concerns. I cant believe Creality finaly put out a machine that is, so far, so hardware reliable. The fact you didnt point out any hardware issues moves this to the top of my next printer list. Software shortcoming are always to be expected for the launch so I am not worried about those. I also heard that when you open the K2 up creality has stopped hot glueing everything in sight. Can you confirm that? I hated that on my now ancient Ender 5 plus when doing upgrades. I am waiting to see if Flashforge releases a large format printer first and see how that stacks up with the K2 and the X1 carbon. But that is for after the holidays.
Amazing review, as always. I've always avoided Creality like the plague due to the poor quality, false advertising and low morals but lately they seem to be putting the effort in to make better products. Due to this and the specs on paper for the K2 plus (BIG bed, multicolour, heated chamber) I grabbed one of the cheap pre order machines. I wouldn't have invested in this machine at full price. Your mostly positive review has put me at ease though, if you say it's good then it will be.
Very interesting machine and nice review of it. Finally we have some Bambu competitor with bigger print bed size. Will be very interesting to see how fast community will adopt the CFS to run on other printers. There are ton of cardboard spools I wish you would show in details how well those fits and if it's even compatible with cardboard spool with printed rings. PS: I print ton of ABS with 100(C) PEI bed on Enclosed CoreXY printers without extra heaters in my garage without any glue stick and fail rate the same as PLA prints, for me glue stick is a ghost from the past.
yes, hopefully this will finaly be incentive enough for bambu to release their larger bed printer with an imporoved A1 mini AMS (far superior to the x1c's an p1s') I would've bet they'd released it in november before the holidays, but nope. hopefully next year.
Great video. I keep watching these k2+ videos but can’t afford one. I really like your straight to the point review and testing. I’m sure people will be rooting the printer if not done already but if they root the printer they can install kamp to allow for calibration on the printing area instead of the entire bed. As far as the camera feed goes it’s the same story with the k1 series camera. I have found that the camera feed is much more reliable when using fluidd or a 3rd party app like OctoApp/Octoeverywhere. I don’t understand why Creality doesn’t address this issue for all of their printers and cameras.
RUclipsrs shilling harder than ever. Here I am trying to charge back creality because they cant even support their 5months old filament dryer and have the audacity to ask me to buy a new one from jacked up black friday sale.
Guess Nathan wasn't lying this time. Looks like this is better than the X1C in almost every way. Although I'll stick with my X1C and A1 till they break. I don't need anything better. Basically costs the same as an X1 but you get 100mm more volume in every direction and it's noticeably faster as well. Looks like the carbon rod nonsense that Bambu used wasn't required either. Or the Lidar, if this just uses a regular camera. The Bambu X1C is also mostly built out of plastic, except for the frame, while this seems to be mostly from metal.
Love all your videos. Would you guys consider making a video on all these different build plate materials (PEP, PES, PEL, PEB......) ive been seeing lately. I cant seem to find any videos on what they are or best used for.
Great review as always but it would have been nice to know what version of Klipper is in use and whether it has either the Fluidd or Mainsail interface as well as the rather basic Creality offering. I will be honest and say with my experience of Creality printers, the K2 almost seems too good to be true and I worry whether reviewers are getting inventory that has undergone very strict QC processes that will not be maintained on general release. Time will tell but I will not be dropping any cash on one for at least 6 months.
Looks like it's a great printer. I'm waiting for the non-plus version, this one is simply too big for me. Thanks for another detailed and objective review.
The purple retraction test box was insanely better then the x1c. Can you share the full settings for the print? Retraction length, speed, hop, etc. Did you check the x1c settings?
It would be awesome to have some dimensional accuracy tests (cube and cylinder measured with calipers). Bambu has dimensional accuracy issues with round/cylindrical prints (always ~0.2mm undersized compared to cubes of the same size so you can't fix with calibration).
A little hesitant. The channel have the Anycubic Kobra 2 Max a good review, but have more problems than successes with that machine and on another channel the K2 Plus is only optimized to print multi color at a .20 layer height. Which isn't his for finer detail prints. Hopefully it can be resolved through am update. Since the K2 comes with a high for nozzle it is naturally going to be quicker than other colors xy printers.
Competition is good for consumers! This is an amazing detailed review and the K2+ seems to tick all the boxes, but after the K1 fiasco (and other reliability issues from Creality in general) I won't trust any review that's not long term :/ I know everyone is going to compare it to Bambu, but friendly reminder that the X1C is almost 3 years old (!) and the K2+ is barely matching the quality (although in true Creality fashion, many users are already reporting bad and inconsistent quality) while still missing on the overall user experience and advanced sensors.
only issue i have with the K2 is you cannot sit the cfs to the side with the combo version. you need a longer cord to reach. kind of a bad deal when already spending 1500
Yesss!!! I actually already ordered my K2 plus combo a couple days ago. I already have 4 bambu printers but i wanted the bigger plate for bigger cosplay pieces
Great review. Well done. Too bad I can't afford to buy one of these. I'll stay with my K1 Max for now and maybe get a Bambu Lab A1 Mini in the near future for multi color printing. I would prefer to stay with Creality though because I've had great results from my 10 year old first generation Ender 3 and K1 Max.
the biggest issue with retracting filament completely out of the hotend is an increased number of jams (especially with PLA). cutting it off and shoving the remaining amount through drastically reduces the chances of this happening. I'll take a little extra waste instead of having to deal with clearing PLA wedged into the cold size of the nozzle any day.
Hi AuroraTech, I was enjoying watching your review and found it very informative but I find it impossible to finish when there is a 45 second ad break every 3-4 minutes.
I just don't know that I can go back to Creality. The Ender broke my spirit years back. I want a certainly want that build volume though. Ugh. Ugh. Ha. I do believe you more than any other channel @Aurora Tech
Please provide tpu testing information with dried filament. Every printer will print dirty with dirty filament, that is a review of dirty filament and not the printer. Excellent review overall though. 🤙🏾
Would love to know more about how you tested the chamber heater. Based on my unit, Creality does not provide an M191 implementation, only an M141 (current firmware as of this writing). As such, the unit will not wait for the chamber to reach a desired temperature. Furthermore, in testing with just the chamber heater, I was not able to reach 55c.
11:33 Is it just me or do the numbers really look that terrible with the ghosting around it? But it's on both devices. Could printing slower reduce that?
Slowing it down would definitely help with that. Considering how fast these printers are going and that those numbers on a flat surface are basically a torture test for "ringing", it's not bad at all. Slowing it down a bit would probably eliminate it completely and still be way faster than any bed slingers out there.
Nice video, BUT it is sponsored and claims to be an unbiased review.... This doesn't rhyme well in my opinion. Getting a printer sent without strings attached is one thing, but getting paid for an "unbiased review" is losing credibility in my book. I can't trust the nuances are conveyed as they would in a no strings attached scenario. My 2c.
If someone trusts RUclips influencers I have a bridge to sell... Notice how often influencers list pros and "cons" but cons usually are something insignificant like "first time you turn on you do calibration then need to do it again...." while ignoring real issues like significant vertical artifacts.
The volumetric speed for PETG is set to 15 mm³/s. At a 0.2 mm layer height, this translates to 187.5 mm/s, and at a 0.3 mm layer height, it becomes 125 mm/s.
thank you! It would be nice to get a comparison to the Prusa Core one, it might be queter and more efficent with its mmu, and has a great planetary extruder.

Wow Creality finally gets it together and delivers.
Excellent review Aurora, this is a printer I'm very seriously considering. Thank you!
RUclipsrs shilling harder than ever. Here I am trying to charge back creality because they cant even support their 5months old filament dryer and have the audacity to ask me to buy a new one from jacked up black friday sale.
Your usual excellent analysis is much appreciated.
There is an option to select root access, which means you can technically do whatever you want on the Linux system.
Cant wait! Mine arrives next week!
Looks like it's a great printer. I'm waiting for the non-plus version, this one is simply too big for me. Thanks for another detailed and objective review.
The "Agree to wherever it says screen" is now the way I'll call it from now on 😀
Looks like Creality has a winner on their hands.
thanks for the review, really thinking about getting this machine to replace my old and venerable Prusa MK2s
Seems nice but seeing as it is Creality, I'm going to wait and see what Bambu comes out with next spring.
Excellent review! So detailed and clear. Thank you.
I like those reviews, it’s close what we want, but not as deep as we want, maybe need more time to get done ❤
It would be nice to see the high details prints in a more mat PLA, that would let the details pop more and the inconsistencies too
A little hesitant.
This is an amazing detailed review and the K2+ seems to tick all the boxes, but after the K1 fiasco (and other reliability issues from Creality in general) I won't trust any review that's not long term :/
I know everyone is going to compare it to Bambu, but friendly reminder that the X1C is almost 3 years old (!) and the K2+ is barely matching the quality (although in true Creality fashion, many users are already reporting bad and inconsistent quality) while still missing on the overall user experience and advanced sensors.
Great review as always!
The best review chan out there
only issue i have with the K2 is you cannot sit the cfs to the side with the combo version. you need a longer cord to reach. kind of a bad deal when already spending 1500
Great review as always! This machine is very impressive, my k1 Max works well also. Thanks so much for sharing w us!!
Yesss!!! I actually already ordered my K2 plus combo a couple days ago. I already have 4 bambu printers but i wanted the bigger plate for bigger cosplay pieces
May will be have a Creatlity K2 Max, I’m waiting for.
Hi, good review, when will the Sovol SV06 Ace review come out for us with a limited budget? Thank you.
just get the A1
It was scheduled for December, but I'm considering moving it up and doing it sooner.
@@AuroraTech Thank you for the response! Sounds great.
As always thank you !:)))
hmm it can print PLA fully enclosed..... like the prusa core one!! lol I hope to see that on the channel soon.
Great review, keep it up 👍
the biggest issue with retracting filament completely out of the hotend is an increased number of jams (especially with PLA). cutting it off and shoving the remaining amount through drastically reduces the chances of this happening. I'll take a little extra waste instead of having to deal with clearing PLA wedged into the cold size of the nozzle any day.
Hi AuroraTech, I was enjoying watching your review and found it very informative but I find it impossible to finish when there is a 45 second ad break every 3-4 minutes.
Your cons are good feedback for them. Also the Z wobble is not that good in some of the prints in every video I have seen.
Reliability and ease of maintenance is important to me. Don't know if I should get a Creality K2 or a Bambu.
There are a ton of VFAs in those prints... 🙄
I just don't know that I can go back to Creality. The Ender broke my spirit years back. I want a certainly want that build volume though. Ugh. Ugh. Ha.
I do believe you more than any other channel @Aurora Tech
Love your work.
Excellent review, thank you!
A great review, thank you.
Informative. Thank you!

Is it just me or do the numbers really look that terrible with the ghosting around it?
But it's on both devices.
Could printing slower reduce that?
Slowing it down would definitely help with that. Considering how fast these printers are going and that those numbers on a flat surface are basically a torture test for "ringing", it's not bad at all. Slowing it down a bit would probably eliminate it completely and still be way faster than any bed slingers out there.
Also really wild how creality knocked off the UI, like d00d at least change the colors
My 2c.
Did she say creality paid them?
@@CL-gq3no Yes she said it was a sponsored video at the end of the intro some 3:30 into the video
@@Makeringedients, I didn't catch that. thanks. I think they would still be honest in their review, but you have a point.
If someone trusts RUclips influencers I have a bridge to sell... Notice how often influencers list pros and "cons" but cons usually are something insignificant like "first time you turn on you do calibration then need to do it again...." while ignoring real issues like significant vertical artifacts.
With the increased bed size of the K2 Plus, it must require more processing power. Were there any issues with insufficient performance?
What speed did you print the petg at? Did you have to slow the machine down for that material?
The volumetric speed for PETG is set to 15 mm³/s. At a 0.2 mm layer height, this translates to 187.5 mm/s, and at a 0.3 mm layer height, it becomes 125 mm/s.
thank you! It would be nice to get a comparison to the Prusa Core one, it might be queter and more efficent with its mmu, and has a great planetary extruder.
