people need to stop hating on josh and josh. this show has helped me learn a lot about rc flying. i like that josh scott is the beginner it gives good diversity between beginner and expert.
I love the little commentary/reactions of Josh Scott so much, such a great guy :)
If you don't want to use a drill and would rather play with fire, You can put the metal landing gear end over a candle to heat it up and push it through the caps. It is a lot of fun.
Kind of remind you of J-3 Cub wheels!
Great job guys. Keep up the great work. Always educational & entertaining!
I love the foam noodle idea! Awesome!
Simple yet ingenious! Thank you very much
i like the videos you guys are making now! with actually useful videos for making scratch builds
THANK YOU JOSH SCOTT FOR THE WEEZER REFERENCE! Made my day 😁
We use regular spray paint or automotive paint. Neither is good for foam, you just need to spray it very lightly and dry. That's all.
Great idea! I will definitely be using a variant off this design!
"It's an airplane isn't it!"
"Yeah"
*Shakes his head
LMAO
wow i read this comment at the exact time and they said it in the video XD
Great video guys, thanks for posting
i love rc airplanes this guys channel is the best
I just can't belive. Amazing!
Thanks guys. What a great idea for wheels on the cheap!
Just cool, Im going to make one of this and post an article...great Job Guys!
Great Job guys! I use them for floats on my F450 Quad!
A little bit of toe-in (2-4 deg.) is good for taildraggers. It helps prevent groundloops.
Love your tattoo Josh Scott!
I am so glad to see how beat up their bixler is. It makes me feel better about my first flight.
Yes Josh! Keep rocking that tattoo man. God bless you! Thats awesome.
Nice video, great explanation :D
Asked for this on your 'Heli-Mac 1SQ' review. Thank you so much for this guys! Any chance you can do a quick tip on making your own floats?
I made some wheels out of pop cans and tube foam, looks really nice and is really light
simple. cheap. effective. great tips!
I always enjoy your vids. Thanks for the tips and keep up the good work. Don't listen to the haters.
You should just bend the ends of the wire to keep the wheels on, then they wont ever fall off.howevor you may lose your zip tie sponsorship
Very COOL!! Thank you!! How about a video on how to weld/solder a small piece between the two wheels to brace them from opening/closing?
you guys are the best!!!
Awesome tip, definitely gonna use that for my scratch builds :-)
OMG, a bixler with Landing gear lol Love it :)
Great use of household materials!
Oh yeah....GREAT VIDEO FELLAS
The Josh with no Idea is the best ;)
That mini josh is hilarious 😂
thanks bro's for a excellent idea
Cool tip!
Simple is beautiful.
You guys are hilarious, keep doin whatchu doin!
hemOstats and yes they're awesome, great stuff guys!
Hemostat, not hemiostat.
Thanks for the vid; helped me design an LG.
An landing gear?
Actually, it's 'haemostat'. 'Haemo', as in medical speak for blood, has an 'a'.
Kimdino1
Is that why they call brain bleeds haemorrhages?
Very helpful
They use metric! I like that!
Great episode, as always! But why dont u use the bixler 2?
wow nice
your guys are awesome i love all your videos
Best video ever
:) Another Great video Guy's
METRIC RULES
Awesome!
Metric! Epic milestone. Much appreciated.
I love my zip tie gun. Makes a perfect cut at the perfect tension.
A little piece of shrink tubing makes a great wheel retainer.
did you have to do any internal reinforcement? I intend to do mine with that idea.
Hey, it worked!
Where to purchase that nice pad you have on your workbench?
What type of paint could you safely use on that foam?
does this work with FT Mighty Mini Arrow , the small wing ?
Ingenious I tell ya! Lol very cool.
Can u make videos on landing gear best postions front and back and the angle of elevation (due to this front and back wheels)
Just say "nipple" it's nothing special, every mammal has them, female and male..
My cat is a he an he has 8.
EXELENTEEE!!! Gracias!
you could put fuel tubing to stop the wheels from coming off, and plus it would be a tight fit. :D nice vid
very good, most of us have those parts after summer like you guys, how was the cg or chad can fly a brick"
make a video on customizing planes!! (painting, designing, weird custom planes)
are they feeling alright they have uploaded 2 videos in the same week =D.
can wait to see the next one
great and simple but i change flite test to try and get that landing gear on the bixler and see if it can be launched from water
p.s u might need 3 wheels for this
@flitetest - 4:38; 4:43 - LOVE WHAT YOUR TATTOO's are all about! Keep shining the way!
probably a stupid question but is the plane named after josh?
Everyone uses the metric system in the US. it just depends on the circumstance.
Are skids better for grass landings? or tires?
Hipster Josh looks less than enthused in this episode. Did you guys have a fight?
Sweet!
The only reason I hadn't bought this glider was cause of no landing gear(till now). Long flight times, durability, speed & being able to land & take off without having to touch the plane makes this the ultimate beginner plane. FPV makes it even better. I just want to come up with something to make it look stock though.
Awesome
I'll be getting a Bix3 soon, and I think this would be a good alternative to the tiny wheels it comes with. I've got plenty of pop bottle lids and wire hangers, all I need is a noodle... :>
Erica Sherwood the bix 2 is better
If you don't want to leave and go buy a pool noodle, just cut out some circles from dollar tree foam board!
Hello Guyz .. can you please guide as same for tail landing gear :)
Josh Scott. Love the tattoo
I Got tired of slicing my fingers open on the zip ties after I cut the excess off. To get around this on all zip ties now I cut them off flush and then hit them with a hot blade screwdriver to melt the sharp edge left by the side cutters. It usually also permanently melts the plastic tail to the sleeve so that you no longer are relying on the plastic spring action that can fail.
Gotta go to to Dollar and get me a float now, thanks.
what about homemade landing skid/ rear wheel?
Has josh Scott been around the new place?
can i use it on my xk a800?
Naming the Plane "Bixler" was the HK CEO's way of saying thank-you to Josh for what he is doing for the hobby. Especially new comers. If you are not aware, Josh and the CEO are good friends.
Josh in NO WAY takes credit for the plane, and I don't think he ever has
Hahaha Josh Scott is the best!.. Bixler is alright too:P
Hmm, what about having the wire be stuck through the wings and then secured with zip-ties? Unless that creates a center-of-gravity issue (in which case a third landing gear wheel could be attached to the nose of the plane and then the center-of-gravity could be moved forward) I don't see why this wouldn't work
I have actually sliced a hot glue stick like pepperoni and stuck that on to hold the wheel,it works great!
But plastic with metal?
no need for a wheel in the back? you will trash the end on that rocks.
is there a position where you should mount the landing gear? i supose the plaine should be balanced.
Love Your Your tube Channel Bro U R Absolutely Awesome I M Making One Your Plan That I Download From Your Site.
Time to make landing gear for my Hobbyzone Firebird Stratos
Americans using the metric system... about time! the rest of the world has been waiting on you all! :P
Hey I am a mechanical design student and I'm interested in designing some scratch build swappable planes. I am really new to the world of Rc planes and don't really know how to design one that I know will fly. Any suggestions?
They should get a Instructables (DIY HEAVEN).
better to glue the water bottle caps together first, then hit it on the drill press one time for matching drill holes
So I accident gave toe in for the landing gear on my ft storch how should I remedy this
On taildraggers, a little toe-out is far more preferred over any toe-in. (Think of what the airplane does exactly at the instant of touchdown.) Can you bend your toe-in out by the use of two pairs of pliers, or a vice and pliers?
next week installing retracts
You could spray paint it black the wheels
yea, the only problem with the DT foamboard is that i've found that most of the stores dont locally stock it. best way to get it is to order it then have it shipped to the store. its ~1.00 per board, BUT you need to order it in 50 sheet quantities. so your talkin 50$ for foam board...
I still couldn't build a durable landing gear. Either the wires bend or the attachment fails because the fuselage is basically foam.
10:45 ho.... Josh 😁😁😁😁.🙏
Don't get too excited, Josh Scott.
Bixler is the best
