Thanks for your comments. As an FYI in case you do ever increase your screen size most projector companies way overstate how large a screen you can have. There is a great app called video calc that will tell you roughly what you can expect. If your current screen has a gain of 1.3 which is pretty typical you currently have about 362 nits which is great. If the screen was 300, 83 nits which would be very dark. Thanks for watching
I think you have your immersive formats mixed up. Auro3D maxes out at 13.1 (DTS: X is up to 12.1), if the soundtrack supports it. Unlocked home Dolby Atmos soundtracks with 3D objects are capable of up to 34.1.
This puts my modest home theatre to shame, viewsonic x104k with a 130ins 4k screen in grey, a decent single sub (those things are not cheap) and a fairly good 7.1 speaker set up, that cost me 3k and I already had some of the speakers, also An denon amp and a Nvidia pro, which can upscale to 4k which is really impressive, I'm very happy with the system and don't feel like spending anymore could be justified on my budget.
The Nvidia Shield is quite underrated for what it can do for a small Android tv streaming box. It doesn't just support Dolby Atmos/Vision, HDR10+. It's also one of the best devices to run a Plex movies. Another thing it doesn't is 4K AI Upscaling which is genuinely amazing although I haven't seen anyone talk about it on a projector
Yes, we like the Shield, we suspect a new version will come out soon, as it has been around over 2 years. It actually now does support AI upscaling of 720p and 1080p to 4K. www.nvidia.com/en-us/shield/shield-tv-pro/

I'm building my home theater on a budget and I've used your program to help me organize my thoughts and layout. I wanted to ask about the pros and cons of using boze speakers, which iscwhat I currently have. They sound great, but then again I'm not sound engineer. Does it all come down to the calibration? Thanks.
I'm building a theater using Audio Advice's online tool and BTW thank you for that tool it's amazing! This is certainly a dream home theater, definitely way out of my range to achieve but nonetheless very nice!
Is there any way to get a closer look at these special german brackets? Im going to be using 306ps as atmos channels and ive been trying to find a mounting option. Thanks.
I may have missed it but I'm interested in the air ventilation in these home theater videos. Is it necessary to reduce air control quality for all the sound/video concerns? I started thinking about this when I was watching that one attic-home theater video and thought to myself that it must get pretty hot - especially since it's an enclosed room.
You are right, ventilation is an important aspect. To reduce noise, it is always a good idea to oversize the ducts and supply and return vent panels. And unless you have a split system, you want to have an air return in the room. Thanks for watching
Wow I thought my theatre room kicked butt. You don’t know how big your dog is until you see someone else’s. Theatre is amazing. Very very nice setup. Congrats on a great install and to the owner
How does it look when the customer watches 16:9 content? Are there vertical black bars on the left and right side of the image? Or is there some sort of masking system? I loved this video, thank you for making it.
Ben- there are vertical black bars. The customer did not want to add the cost of masking panels and we agreed as it is not that big a deal in a dark room. We are happy you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching
@Ben Rubenstein When a room has good light control and is dark when watching a film you never notice the actual bars. I have bars when watching movies in my home theater and nobody every actually notices them.
@@benrub Using red is a good color to ensure that light is better controlled. If you have a living room theatre use curtains that are on the side section of a window and then use curtains on the inside section it will create better control. You do not need to do this all at once just do it over time. Black bars on a tv set are different.
Your explination of the Panamorph Lens attachment is facinating. I've been thinking of having a Home theatre installed, but since I am a huge 3D fanatic, I've been hesitant as I'm not a fan of the RF shutter system used used by projectors. It would be interesting if you had any thoughts on a duel projection system and if there is a system to seperate the left and right eye images from the BluRay to coresponding projectors. I'm guessing that one projector would be a primary for regular features, but the screening could utilize both projectors. If you ever get to do a project such as that, I would love to see how you would tackle that.☝
The client had owned the Datasat in their previous theater. We were able to upgrade the boards which is a great feature of Datasat. Thanks for watching
What about the frame interpolation feature, see what it does with the parachute scene from The first "Kingsman'" movie "The Secret Service" ? So far, I've never come across an algorithm, or rather a video card with enough power to deal with that scene. Lots of severe ghosting when the actors are falling fast in front of the sky filled with clouds. If it can handle that I will be very impressed !
The Envy currently does not do any motion processing. However, they are working on what they anticipate will be the world's first AI-based motion interpolation algorithm, which has the potential to open new doors for MI, and that based on what we have seen them do in other areas of video processing that if anyone has a chance to pull off new innovation in this space it would be them. Can we get a timestamp of that scene in the "Kingsman" please? Thanks!
Sony has the best service of any video vendor we have ever used. Their products hardly ever break and when they do, they take care of you. Thanks for watching
Seriously, the thing I am interested the most, that is most of the time left out, is the screen. Materials, shades of white/grey, difference between rollups and stationary, layers, etc.
The Sony 5000 is 5000 lumens. It might produce 100 nits on a screen this large. That is the issue with all front projection, none of them come close to the nits you need for HDR, which is why the Envy makes a huge difference
Grey screens are typically used when there is light in the room. With a room that has controlled lighting, a white screen is usually the better choice.
how in the world does the house not fall apart with all threater bass I got 1 15in klipsch sub and sometime I think my home is gonna come apart plus the people out side the home sometimes call the cops and they live far away i just dont get how some one can have so many subs its great but some time i can barley breath with my 1 sub and it 100 percent more bass then a rear theater
Josh, thanks for your comments. Having multiple subwoofers allows each one to have to work less, so the bass you get just sounds far more effortless and very even across all the seats, but when there is slam, you can literally feel it. The exterior of this theater is all brick and insulated very well, so there is not a noise issue for the neighbors. Thanks for watching!
Coming from a business standpoint, how to convince or make the customer feel that they need all of this? Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing system. I just want to know how to get to having such a high-end system. Do the customers come to you and stay we want a $30,000 home theater? Or do you slowly work up to getting them to think they need it?
This guy wanted no holds barred but usually they can work with peoples budget. Not everyone needs $7k in chairs you know. This was probably a 120k theater though if I had to guess
Great question, the Datasat processor is very flexible. It allows you to break out any channel into multiple channels, for biamping, triamping, quad amping, etc. We set the center channel to be full range, then split its output into two amp channels, crossing over at 80 Hz for the sub. Thanks for watching
The owner wanted to see the speakers and they are actually right at Dolby specs. If you have ever been a Dolby post production studio you would see all of the speakers like this and aimed at the primary position. Thanks for watching
I said the last luxury Theater was one of the best looking rooms I've ever seen, but this one definitely tops it, so well done! Seeing these $500k+ budgeted rooms is great and all, but honestly I'd really like to see what you guys could do with a max budget of $50,000 in a medium-sized room. : )
Glad you enjoyed it, this one was far from that amount. We have done a few that are in that range and we have many more in the works coming soon. Some are no holds barred and some are very budget oriented. Please consider subscribing to our channel to keep up with the latest
@@AudioAdvice Big rooms like this always sound superior if designed properly (proportions, etc). It appears that you had the luxury to do that with this one. Tell us about the acoustic design for this one. Were additional side surrounds considered...given the multiple rows?
@@AudioAdvice So be it. He gets 51% of the vote. ;-) The marriage of the center with the LF cab is interesting. Did you just use the LFE crossover, or did you have to create filters/slopes for the big LF via DSP?
@@canweshoot Joe- the Datasat is super flexible. It has the ability to do any kind of crossover you want with all the different slopes and at any frequency, you could even divide one channel up into 10 if you wanted to. The Datasat is what also allowed us to do two profiles, one for theater with LFE in mono for all the subs, and the other for stereo where we just have the front subs working and getting individual channel info

They have a NAS running and use the Shield as a primary device. It amazes me why they would then use a kaleidascape over ripping their own UHD blu-rays and using plex. Saves a couple of thousands
Ripping still has error correction and you are not ripping from the original source file. Kaleidescape is a bit perfect download of the original movie file. There is a considerable difference when you have a system of this resolution. Thanks for watching.
@@AudioAdvice It's a slightly higher bitrate compressed file from the studio provided consumer 4k or 2k Blu-ray disc mezzanine master. Kscape uses the exact same lossless audio tracks as placed on a Blu-ray disc, though sometimes they're late in adding Dolby Atmos and DTS: X tracks. However, the last I read Kscape did not include the Dolby Vision version if available, just HDR10. It's not a night and day difference from a disc. You're just paying for the convenience. In terms of server hardware, a heck of a lot.
I would think that many people would love to own certain blu ray movies but they would not buy every movie that is out there. They may just want to watch something on a casual basis as a one off. I love finding movies that are not well known and watching them as sometimes they can be a real gem. I am never going to buy them on blu ray and never see them around on blu ray.

We appreciate you watching and sharing. It sounds like you have put together a very nice system for the money.
Wow this is an endgame room!
Glad you liked it, we appreciate you watching
There are obviously a ton of variables, but what would be a general budget for something of this caliber?
We have a link to all of the products in the written review www.audioadvice.com/videos-reviews/home-theater-showcase-18ft-screen-industrial-design/ But you are getting into 6 figures. Thanks for watching
Very well done! That is a thoughtfully designed theater. Great stuff!
I'm building my home theater on a budget and I've used your program to help me organize my thoughts and layout. I wanted to ask about the pros and cons of using boze speakers, which iscwhat I currently have. They sound great, but then again I'm not sound engineer. Does it all come down to the calibration? Thanks.
Calibration is very important, it makes a world of difference. So does the right acoustic treatment.
Wow, incredible room. Enjoyed that one!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Love your work!
Glad you enjoy it!
I'm building a theater using Audio Advice's online tool and BTW thank you for that tool it's amazing! This is certainly a dream home theater, definitely way out of my range to achieve but nonetheless very nice!
Glad you liked it! Thanks!
AWESOME YOUR VIDEO REALLY LIKE THANK YOU SIR

amazing job. Ilike very much real theater seating in a home theater.
Glad you like it!
Is there any way to get a closer look at these special german brackets? Im going to be using 306ps as atmos channels and ive been trying to find a mounting option. Thanks.
The brand was K&M. We did have to modify the speaker to use them. Thanks for watching
great stuff!
Glad you enjoyed it
Wow! Fabulous room, equipment. Congratulations to all involved.
Thanks very much!
Thank you very much! They have recently upgraded to the Sony GTZ380 and it is even more incredible. Thank you for watching
Very impressive theater!
Thank you!
@Ben Rubenstein
When a room has good light control and is dark when watching a film you never notice the actual bars.
I have bars when watching movies in my home theater and nobody every actually notices them.
@@bighands69 Ben- we totally agree, spend the money on better gear!
@@bighands69 I wish my theater had enough light control as to make the black bar disappear. I dream of having a motorized masking system one day.
@@benrub
Using red is a good color to ensure that light is better controlled. If you have a living room theatre use curtains that are on the side section of a window and then use curtains on the inside section it will create better control.
You do not need to do this all at once just do it over time. Black bars on a tv set are different.
Could it be possible to include in future HT tours a binaural recording of the sound demo section? 🤓
We plan to show this in our next one coming out tomorrow or Friday. Thanks for watching
If you ever get to do a project such as that, I would love to see how you would tackle that.☝
Thank you. We think there used to be some video cards that supported dual output but we don’t think they are around anymore. Thanks for watching

Isn't the Datasat very long in the tooth now to be installing it in 2021? Would be better with a Trinnov or StormAudio processor.
Thanks!
Just one question with all that money why didnt use the Barco loki projector??
Witge the appropriate lenses
Sony has the best service of any video vendor we have ever used. Their products hardly ever break and when they do, they take care of you. Thanks for watching
Seriously, the thing I am interested the most, that is most of the time left out, is the screen. Materials, shades of white/grey, difference between rollups and stationary, layers, etc.
Great question, we do plan to do a video on this subject. Thanks for watching
Hi, Loved the video and awesome system. How is the project supporting this big screen?
Thank you. It does well, but the customer is considering upgrading to the new Sony GTZ380 with twice the light output. Thanks for watching
@@AudioAdvice Hi Scorr, I have a request how we connect with you for help needed in India on Mad Vr setup and calibration...
Hey AA, what’s the screen size in inches 200? I know you said 17ft & 18.5 diagonal.
221" diagonal. Thanks for watching

I think the traditional theater seats are a nice touch for additional seats when you have company.
Thanks for your comment. Yes, they allowed us to put more people into the space than we could have with all recliners. Thanks for watching
Wow! Dream theater. What paint colors did you use?
This one was Shervin Williams Grizzle Grey for the entire room. Matte finish Thanks for watching

@@AudioAdvice😊
Awesome, this is better then IMAX!! . Just not sure why a 5000nit projector requires tone mapping of 4000nit max content.
The Sony 5000 is 5000 lumens. It might produce 100 nits on a screen this large. That is the issue with all front projection, none of them come close to the nits you need for HDR, which is why the Envy makes a huge difference
@@AudioAdvice interesting. Thanks
Very clean
Thanks!
Awesome awesome awesome! Did I mention this is awesome?
Thanks!
I don't know sir why white screen used at theatre you build is white screen better than CLR grey screen this is my concern plz
Grey screens are typically used when there is light in the room. With a room that has controlled lighting, a white screen is usually the better choice.
By the way, this theater is freaking awesome!
Thanks very much! We appreciate you watching and commenting
how in the world does the house not fall apart with all threater bass I got 1 15in klipsch sub and sometime I think my home is gonna come apart plus the people out side the home sometimes call the cops and they live far away i just dont get how some one can have so many subs its great but some time i can barley breath with my 1 sub and it 100 percent more bass then a rear theater
@@AudioAdvice lucky but he must run the sound low too
Coming from a business standpoint, how to convince or make the customer feel that they need all of this? Don't get me wrong, it's an amazing system. I just want to know how to get to having such a high-end system. Do the customers come to you and stay we want a $30,000 home theater? Or do you slowly work up to getting them to think they need it?
This guy wanted no holds barred but usually they can work with peoples budget. Not everyone needs $7k in chairs you know. This was probably a 120k theater though if I had to guess
I would like to know how they connected a sub to the center channel
Great question, the Datasat processor is very flexible. It allows you to break out any channel into multiple channels, for biamping, triamping, quad amping, etc. We set the center channel to be full range, then split its output into two amp channels, crossing over at 80 Hz for the sub. Thanks for watching
@@AudioAdvice thanks for the reply
why not invisible speakers and the Atmos Speakers are kind of wrong hanging there. Its more Auro like setup
The owner wanted to see the speakers and they are actually right at Dolby specs. If you have ever been a Dolby post production studio you would see all of the speakers like this and aimed at the primary position. Thanks for watching
What an amazing setup! May I ask what are the dimensions of the clients home theater room? Keep up the excellent work Audio Advice!
Thank you! 12 by 19 by 30
5 subs?? Yes please!

so cool!
Thanks!
Well done, AA.
Thank you!
@@AudioAdvice Big rooms like this always sound superior if designed properly (proportions, etc). It appears that you had the luxury to do that with this one.
Tell us about the acoustic design for this one.
Were additional side surrounds considered...given the multiple rows?
@@canweshoot The client wanted to put everything into making the main seat the best.
Me not know how much this stuff cost and thinking about buying the projector to later find out its around 65 grand
For most rooms you would not need anything with that much light output. Sony 4K projectors start under $6000. Thanks for watching
Love your vids. But it would be great to know the price of something like this!
The homeowners are nice enough to let us film and show off the projects we feature, but most do not want us to talk about the price. Thanks for supporting our channel.
How much for this kind of setup?
We have most of the gear listed on our site www.audioadvice.com/videos-reviews/home-theater-showcase-18ft-screen-industrial-design/ Thanks for watching!
@@bighands69 But at what cost? Kscape is ridiculously expensive for that privilege.
@@dan_hitchman007
The projector in that set up cost $60,000. I do not think it is that expensive when you consider the standard of the theatre room.

hey, is 40-100 hz a good frequency response for sub? dual 10, 130db spl @1m 0.1% thd
You really need to know the +/- dB on the frequency response. If it is 10 dB down at 40 Hz that is not great, if its within 3 dB then it is decent but most good subs go lower. Thanks for watching
