I refuse to lower my standards just to say I GOT A MAN..Honesty, Loyalty, Loves God, believes in achieving the impossible, positive attitude , financially stable (doing all right for himself), not looking for a rich man, and makes time to call and check up on me as I do the same for him.
Stay firm. No time for games 💯 keep your expectations high and the right person will come correct!
Never settle, better to be alone then with a man you don’t want. And if you don’t get the man you want then go to a sperm bank and start your family alone.

I feel like being single for a long time has made me actually raise my standards. Just taking that time off relationships to do self work and heal from past traumas has opened my eyes to not just settle for the sake of being in a relationship but to look for someone who has actually done the self work in their lives. And if I have managed, by God's grace, to stay single for 4 years, I can definitely wait a bit more for the right one

I am a 29 year old gay male. I have never been in a relationship. Theres no way I'm lowering my standards just to have a man. Absolutely not. If that means I'm single until my last breath, so be it. Once you know your worth and the value you bring to to any situation, your standards will remain high as well. This can be intimidating to men so they'll find someone that's gullible and easy to manipulate. I'm not the one lol

I agree with you. I was told to lower my standards. I didn’t and my husband and I just celebrated our 4th year wedding anniversary. If your standards are reasonable, there’s no reason why you should have to lower them.

Never been in a relationship,30 years young, and my standards will not change but I’m also not so shallow that height and all that matters.
I think the thing that is really the issue is settling and lowering your bar and your standards just for the sake of saying “ I have a partner “ and that to me is no bueno ! I don’t ever wanna be in a position where I lose my self esteem and my sense of being just to say “ enable for me to be with somebody I gotta lower my standards” like is expensive China isupposed to be put with regular plates... no bcuz they’re special and so are you so treat yourself like it and make sure the person you’re with is too !

Definitely never settle with things that are actually important to you/ needs etc. However, sometimes some of us have a tendency to say we are looking for things like superficial things that aren’t actually important to us but are because we care what others think. Those are the things you can get rid of and focus on what’s actually going to make you happy and lead to a lasting relationship, because generally speaking those superficial things won’t do that.

As you get older you realize the dating pool has gone down significantly. A lot of men now have kids, are married, have been divorced, are in jail, and have more money so now date women 10-20 years younger and you have less options so you have to lower your standards.
I mean, you can always date sb slightly older or younger. I'm 32, and I am not closed to dating sb of a slightly different age.

I was engaged to a man whose ex wife and child lived outside of the country. My ex fiancé’s mom set it up where the child and mother would fly to America stay with her for two weeks to visit all of the American family. The child was under the age of 10 so I understood why the mother needed to come. I was very uncomfortable that his mother didn’t ask how I felt about them staying with her and all of us under one roof for two weeks!!!! We ended up breaking up after those two weeks let’s just say that
