Hello good day brother international viewer here maybe you can help me make an informed decision. Regarding this motherboard and The AM5 platform. My first option is the ASUS Z790 Dark Hero/14900K and Second is the Crosshair X670E/7800X3D I have always been an intel user even before I built my first PC. Currently running 6700K/Maximus 7 Formula which I’ve had since they released 8 years now. My Only concern regarding AMD is I’ve heard people complain about RAM stability issues and the system can get laggy randomly while on windows\Browsing\Working while using AMD. My 6700k setup still runs great doing everyday work however when I game I can see its age. I mainly use the PC for Gaming/Photoshop/After Effects/Premiere/Entertainment Stuff like watching movies and browsing the internet and any upgrades I make are usually straight forward like a GPU and RAM. It be cool if I can get response based on your experience with AMD on your personal setup since you've built it
Hi Mate - Personally i went AMD as i know that i can straight swop the CPU and GPU and not have to worry about changing mobo also! that being said the 14900k is slightly better BUT the temps are really poor - at least you have an upgrade path on AMD with lower temps. I 100% love my AM5 system and have had no issues at all. That being said i did a fresh install of windows and ensured all drivers updated and bios and chipset. I also ensured that gamebar and 4g decoding were enabled and only use 2 x 32gb sticks of RAM to get the full 6000mhz speeds - Good look my man and hope this helps - PS i was INTEl for years also so no AMD fanboy here i just want to go with best value along with serving its purpose.
@@TechCheckUK Cool thanks for the reply my thoughts exactly is there’s an upgrade path, less power draw and the lower temps on AMD. Yes this will be a complete new system with a clean windows install as well as the BIOS any hard drives on my current system will be repurposed as additional storage. I’ve also heard that the BIOS update on this motherboard is a MUST so it won’t be an issue as I always try to keep my system as Up to date as possible. That being said let’s see what gets announced at CES this year. Cheers mate.
Thank you for this Video, This is the motherboard i want to get as it has usb 4. Does the 1st m.2 slot reduce the gpu to x8. I would like to use at least 2 m.2 ssds otherwise 1 m.2 ssd for boot and the rest sata ssds to keep the slot at x16. I am going to use the 7800x3d

Hey question for anyone who can give me an answer. Motherboard: asus crosshair VI hero (wi-fi ac) CPU: AMD 9 5950X GPU: ASUS RTX 4070 TI RAM: DDR 4 3600MHZ 64 GB POWER: 850 RM GOLD FULLY MOD I updated my mb bios up to date to support the cpu. But I'm experiencing some poor fps performance in a game like rust. I reinstall os 10, got my drivers from the site directly. Could my motherboard be root cause of my performance? I'm pretty convinced it's not fully optimizing my cpu regardless of the bio update. Would this be the case?
Personally as long as you have updates bios and chipset and installed asus crate - it will update it all for you. I would be also looking at gpu drivers and game settings tbh - vary rare it's cpu tbh
Asus armoury crate mate is a utility software allowing you to keep all your drivers etc up to date. Ensure you also have docp enabled for your RAM in bios and ensure you set all your nvidia game /global settings too as that will help.
Thanks very much 😀 to be honest I have never been UAE (I will do soon tho looks amazing) so I have no idea where would be best to purchase I'm sorry. I really appreciate you watching and leaving positive vibes 👍
I have the Asus ROG Crosshair X670E extreme. One thing I don't like about it is the 23 pin connector is on the edge of the board horizontal. I'm installing it in an AZZA pyramid case. Not alot of room in the front for a horizontal 24 pin. I'm trying to find an adapter that will plug into the board to make the 24 pin cable vertical but can't seem to find one.
Hello. I have technical questions for the creator of the Tech Check channel and the author of the presentation of the ASUS YSA X670E Hero motherboard. I have this motherboard in my computer. I have 6 drives installed. 4 on SATA and 2 on M2. From what I read in the manual, this motherboard supports a total of 6 SATA drives, but I still have free slots for M2 and I want to add one more M2 drive there as the seventh. Will it be recognized by Windows 11? The second question concerns the adapter for the PCI slot in which the M2 drive is installed. Does this adapter in the PCI slot work at x8 or x16 speed? I have my boot disk with the system there. Is it better to move this drive to the 5.0 slot on the motherboard under the radiator? Regards.
Well tge 7700x has 28 pcie lanes and tge x670 hero has 16 x lanes for pcie x 16 slot for gpu and 4 for each pcie x5.0 slot. That then leaves x4 lanes for sata ports and last gen 4 drive m.2
I bought one and I can't configure the screen. I realized that there are only downloadable effects in the extreme version. Is that right? It doesn't have large screen settings? I'm Brazilian and if I make any mistakes in writing I apologize
Hi mate you can control in asus aura effects - only the lighting can be changed as this is the hero not maximus. Hope that helps and your English was great 👍
How's it treating you, been debating this motherboard for so long and I want to pull the trigger, had any issues? I'm sure if it did the BIOS updates should have fixed most of it.@@TechCheckUK
Worked straight out the box no issues and RAM overclocking is amazing. I have since installed new chipset drivers and updated bios and still works perfectly 👌 great board 👍
I'm happy to do it mate if I get chance to do a build with one I can't just buy the parts without needing it for build I wish I could mate or get sent one for free like most YTs
Question about the M.2 slot 1, in that I've put a gen4 1TB in there. Is my 4090 now at 8x rather than the 16x? Should I move my 1TB to another slot on the board? Any help is appreciated.
What cpu are you using mate? Short answer is no your absolutely fine BUT it starts to get more complicated when you start adding additional NVME s to other slots such as 2 and 3. A 7950x3d has 28 lanes 16 are for pcie x16 slot, 4 are for the chipset that leaves 8 for nvme slots.
I was pretty sure all was good but a couple of other reviewers mentioned this and cast a shadow of a doubt on my build. Thanks for confirming! Love the channel!!
